Settling The Score
After four more weeks of her pregnancy the team sent Fara to a medical station on the way back to base but that didn't change the fact that the father of her unborn child was gone. Fang was the only person that Fara truly loved and after only knowing him for a few weeks he was gone but the team wouldn't let his death slide by as they headed for a base located on one of the outer planets.
The only bright side was that Fang left the blueprints to his suit in his room for Slippy to find and the mechanic immediately got to work with a little modifications of his own while the others prepped the arwings. As the great fox neared the planet the general popped up on the bridges holographic projector.
"Fox? may I have a word?"
"if this is about me and the team going against orders forget it...we won't turn back."
"I don't expect you to."
The general then sent images of Pigma; Traitor of the first starfox team and the one responsible for the death of Fox's father.
"Thanks to your intelligence division we've discovered that the bombs which killed Fang were smuggled to this base and Pigma is the one running the show."
"Good now I know who to kill..."
"Not so fast Tamati. the royal family of mobius as well as the people have demanded that Pigma be brought back to mobius to stand trial for the death of Fang."
Even though he couldn't kill Pigma, Tamati and the others were satisfied with sending him to jail to rot as the general continued the briefing.
"Pigma has also stolen a valuable cargo from the cornerian science commity, we need it back as soon as possible."
"You can count on us general."
After a quick salute the general ended the transmission. Later on Slippy called the team to the hangar announcing that he finished the suit, as the team entered the hangar there it was kept in the original design like Fangs but modernized with state of the art weaponry and the latest in computer programming.
"It's all yours Tamati."
"What?"
"Next to Fang you are the only one capable of ground combat and You were closer to Fang than any of us."
"....Alright."
The team then mounted their arwings while Tamati got in his new suit, it felt amazing as his diagnostics popped up on screen as well as the status of the weapons and the armor, he flexed his arms and legs making sure it functioned properly before giving the thumbs up to the team as they lauched out of the great fox and onto the enemy base.
"Heads up! anti air!!"
Cannons fired from all over the ground but with Fox's amazing pilot skills they were easy pickings while Tamati handled the rest of the artillery, thanks to the suits bio enhancers his strength had beend tripled, making him strong enough to rip a tank in half.
"Damn i'm good!!"
"Tamati!! enemy fighters coming in hot!!"
Tamati then activated the jet pack in his armor to dodge their fire and retalliated with two bursts of cannon fire as he activated the weapons in his gauntlets.
"Suits working like a dream Slippy!!"
"Guys! we got an incoming transmission....IT'S PIGMA!!!"
Just then they spotted an escape pod making its way across the base with the stolen cargo the general spoke of.
"Sorry to run off all of the sudden but I gotta make a trade off."
"The only place you'll be going Pigma is a Mobian jail cell! we're taking you in!!"
"Don't think so Fox!!"
Pigma then activated a signal opening several hatches in the base and from them came swarms of aparoids. The team watched in horror as the creatures flew all over the sky infecting the remaining guards and machines. Tamati acted fast as he focused his fire on the remaining artilery while Fox and the others gave chase to Pigma but with the aparoids tailing them it was impossible to keep up.
"AAH!! THEIR ALL OVER ME!!"
"KRYSTAL!!"
An aparoid was nearing the cockpit of Krystals arwing when suddenly it was tackled by another suit of armor and from the dust came a very familiar face as the pilot deactivated his helm.
"No way...Fox it's him!!!"
"Him who?"
"It's Fang!!!"
"WHAT?!?"
Fox and the others turned around for a short moment and saw that it was him. Fang looked at the team for a short moment and smiled as he reactivated his helm and drew his newly named sword Foe Reaver from its sheath and began cleaving away at the aparoids.
"I'm getting outta here!!!"
An aparoid jumped in front of the team, cutting of their pursuit forcing them into a battle and finishing of the aparoid infestation. Moments later Fang boarded the ship and was welcomed with open arms from his teamates, they were happy to see that he was alive and well and surprised to see his suit had an upgrade.
"We thought you were dead!!"
"I came close. Fortunately my suit absorbed most of the impact but some of my bones were broken as I climbed out of the rubble, then a few locals found me and brought me back to a medical station where I spent a few weeks in recovery and as for my suit you can thank your girlfriend Slips."
An image of a pink frog appeared on a holo disc Fang was carrying, it was Slippys girlfriend Lilly Toad who was just as much of a mechanical genius as him.
"Thought I might give you guys a surprise gift and Slippy I miss you *Blows Kiss*"
"Awww! that's adorable!"
"Ammy!"
Although the reunion was touching there was something Fang needed to do as he rushed to the bridge to establish a communication with a nearby base.
"This is Fang of starfox calling medical base alpha. do you copy?"
An image of Fara soon appeared on the screen and her face became filled with shock as she stared at her boyfriend who was thought to be dead.
"Fang?.....Is it really you?"
"I'm sorry I made you worry so much Fara...."
"I don't care about that...I'm just glad you're alive."
A tear of joy streamed down her face as they placed their palms on the screen, then Fang noticed Faras belly and a sudden rush overtook him.
"Is that....mine?"
"Yes...you're going to be a daddy."
A look of joy formed on Fangs face as he suddenly shouted at the top of his lungs and raising his arms in triumph, the team soon enterd with a few glasses of champange to celebrate the news but in the distant reaches of the galaxy Pigma suddenly succumbed to a strange voice echoing in his head.
"Obey us obey us obey us-WHA?!? I must be losing it...space travel can be such a-Yes...I will obey..."
