Battle on the Home Front
After one final week the teams vacation was over and they were back on assignments, as leaders of each group Fara and Fox were left with most of the paper work while their teams ran maitenince on the ships with a little break time in between as the new couples hung out with each other in the lounge, Fox and Krystal were surprised to see Fara holding onto Fangs arm as they walked by both with smiles on their faces.
"I think they make a nice couple."
Krystal stated as they left the lounge to the ships hangar where a message from the general suddenly popped onto the screen.
"Fox! can you hear me?!?"
"Loud and clear general."
"We just received a distress signal from Sauria. the planet has come under attack, most of the inhabitants are either infected or in hiding."
Images of infected saurians soon popped onto the screen, Krystal stared in horror since Sauria was her home planet and began to fear the worst for her people but Fang looked at the images in anger and stormed out of the room to his quarters where he hid a chest under his bed bearing the symbol of a flying dragon while the others were given the briefing.
"Your mission is to stop the aparoids from infecting the rest of the planet, after that we'll send a relief team to supply meds and whatever assistance is needed. dismissed."
The team soon prepared for battle as they all checked their gear and prepped the arwings but Fara noticed Fang was nowhere to be seen until he contacted her on his com link.
"Fara. i'm already on the planet, scouting out the area so we can establish a base."
"Good idea....Fang?"
"Yeah?"
"Please be careful...."
"...I will."
As the communication ended Fara suddenly felt weak and fainted on the spot as Tamati caught her in midair, it didn't seem like she was having a fever of any sort but the others agreed to have her taken to the medical wing where Tamati found his girlfriend Ammy in a soldiers uniform.
"Ammy? you're on the team?!?"
"Just as the medic. lay her on the table."
As Tamati laid Fara down she slowly began to regain conciousness and saw she was in the medical wing, the moment she tried to get up Ammy laid her back down while Tamati went back to the hangar to prepare for launch while Ammy got to work on Fara.
"What happened?"
"I just finished receiving a message from Fang saying he was checking out the area then...I just felt weak all of the sudden."
While Ammy checked Fara the team spotted Fang on the monitor in some strange suit of armor, the spaulders were decorated with huge spikes and from what Slippy could tell the armor was an old version of a nexo suit but still in good working condition.
"Hey Fang? what's with the knight gettup?"
"This my armor from the order of the Dragon Knights. Once we were all over this galaxy, even here on Sauria. To protect and serve our people was our code but as technology grew we agreed we were no longer necessary and faded away. Those of us that remained true to the order still held on to our armor, serving any way we could."
Suddenly the scanner on Fangs arm began blaring as several red blips popped up as he activated his helm, clamping it in place.
"We got hostiles!!"
"Fang get out of there! it's an ambush!!"
"RRRAAAAAGH!!!!"
It was too late, Fang was surrounded as the team heard the sounds of snarls and clashing of flesh against steel, there was no time to lose as Fox and the otehrs launched out of the Great Fox and joined the battle wiping out the aparoids in the air and below they could see the devastation of the planet.
"Poor beautiful Sauria..."
Krystal suddenly spotted refugees cornered on a temple staircase, Falco tried to reach them but the aparoids were within striking range, as they prepared to attack they suddenly looked up as a shadow blocked out the sun.
"RRROOOAAAAAARRRRAAAAGH!!!!!!"
Fang appeared out of nowhere, his armor had been shattered but it was still useful in close range as he activated the spaulders which turned into mini plasma cannons that blasted away at his enemies.
"FANG!! you're alive!"
"And you're late-HYAGH!!!"
The staircase was the perfct vantage point as Fang cleaved away at the creatures line after line, allowing the others to pick them off from the air, The battle seemed to be going well until Peppy detected something huge on the scanner heading towards Fangs position.
"Heads up Fang! you got more company on the way!!"
"The refugees are in the shelter now i'm pulling out!!"
As Fang neared the end of the stairs a giant spider like aparoid spotted him and blocked his exit with a field of webs forcing him into a corner as he activated the shield in his left arm.
"Uh guys? little help would really be appreciated!"
"On my way! get clear!!"
Tamati was first on the scene as Fang ran out of there while the spider was blasted to bits forcing it to the top of the temple. Krystal and Fox were next to come in as they shot it down with missles killing it on the spot but while they celebrated their well earned victory Fang heard a small beeping sound and all around him were bombs that instantly blew up as he tried to run and on the Great Fox his vitals suddenly hit zero and Fara was left in shock as she held her belly and ran to her room.
Moments later Krystal entered the room holding Fangs shattered helm and saw Fara with her head buried in her pillow sobbing, as she placed the helm on her desk she held her trying to calm her down but she could tell something else was bothering her.
"Fara what is it? what's wrong?"
Fara looked at her with eyes filled with sorrow and regret as she calmed down a little.
"Krystal....i'm pregnant..."
Krystals eyes suddenly filled with shock, there was no doubt she knew who the father was and as she looked at Fangs helm a tear streamed down her face as Fox and the others entered the room with their new mission.
"We found out who owned those bombs and we're heading to their base right now."
"But what about orders?"
"TO HELL WITH ORDERS!! this is personal!!!"
