The former government has this t say about the 6 season war, it was our fault. We made a statement about the Blink event and ended with this "...crime of all kinds had ceased. The world never looked better." But that only lasted for 9 years. Yes it did look like RAM did a good job at the time, but the again, he didn't make those machines.
In the 1980's the government of Canada and others around the world began working on a high grade form of nano robot. In the following decade, the project was upgraded and titled Base Brain. The mane goal of project Base Brain was to create a working nanite that could not only carry out simple tasks, but also be controlled by a lead bot. This was attempted on scales of micro (A grade), nano (B grade), and pico (C grade). Many tests preformed and many successes later one anomaly resulted. The format of a nano mind coupled with a micro body, coded BA had the feared side effect of awareness. Immediate destruction of the failed technology was ordered and for all we knew, carried out. However, on their way to the incinerator the BA traveled through its containment cell and found a way out of the lab and headed to the surface. Even though the BA bots had escaped, it was an assured fact that unless they reached a micro power converter they would never last past the usual hour life span.
As you very well know already, they did survive, and wait for proper timing to strike. That time came on February 15th of 2050 when Marten Tones, a nano-tech specialist, reported various forms of missing nano-interface weapons. Those weapons and the BA showed up in multiple shopping centers throughout Ontario and surrounding provinces. The OPP, FIB, and the local trigger happy civilians made a foolish effort to try and combat the BA and their "Terrorism". Gunfire simply was absorbed by the enemy's armor. C4 was detonated near and on the BA forces and was counter productive. Many BA members had taken any metal they could find and seemed to grow from it. Finally, the government's last approach was the use of an armed nanite warhead on one BA creatures. The warhead was programmed to eat any metal it found until we shut it down. On impact, a small hole appeared in the BA creature and started to spread, but after 12 seconds the hole sealed and started turn clear platinum. It was at this time the Marin Tones appeared and used what looked like a mist over the creature. In 3 seconds it had stopped moving and then walked over to Martin at his side. We believe that he had a control code hidden in his weapons that reformatted the robot into his own once that spray hit it. Martin and his new pet went out and took over more BA members in the same manner. Once the BA outside of Martin's reach got news of this, it is assumed that they were given and did not steal teleportation technology from Professor RAM, because only 16 minutes after Martin started his advance the BA started their retreat. We knew about the portal technology as soon as BA members started to disappear.
Once all of the BAs had left, Martin gave this report. "I know that this sounds nuts, but they are not gone fully and they will be back. I have to go after them. One of my new comrades has their first locations in his memory. I will not let you down." After-wards he vanished also and the rest of us started to gather and try to get back to our day. When a year had passed, the majority population had gotten over it. Others kept to the words that Martin left us with and some caused small panics. For those same people, "I told you so" just didn't help when on July 5th 2051 the BA returned with more numbers than ever reported. This time RAM took a stand as his own robotic form and launched a massive assault on the BA using unique energy weapons. The attack from RAM was effective enough to keep the BA out of the cities, but not even close to being a solution. On July 9th, Martin returned with almost the world population worth of reinforcements. Even though the numbers were in RAM and Martin's favor, it still didn't mean the end of the BA. At 1900 hrs Martin and RAM seemed to use the same technology. It's assumed that they shared their advanced robotics and formed a new wave to fight the BA. The 2 days that followed sent most of us underground, but it all was over on July 11th as the last of the BA were taken over or taken prisoner by Martin and RAM. With the day saved and another on its way, RAM rebuilt all that the BA had demolished. Life wasn't so peaceful, but it wasn't panicky.
