Hey, a personal story! That's a nice change of pace, isn't it? So after a hiatus of a few months, I decided to jump back into things with a concept I'd always kinda wanted to explore: Twining, AKA turning someone into a carbon copy of yourself. I have a few friends who've explored this concept a lot, so I thought I'd give it a shot too. I really enjoyed writing this, so hopefully you enjoy reading it just as much!

I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting to find when I went into that cave, but... it certainly wasn't this.

I'd gone because I'd heard the rumors. Rumors regarding the cave at the top of this cliff, the one that I was currently standing in. According to them, whoever made it to the top of the cliff and into the cave would be rewarded with exceptional powers... powers beyond imagination. But of course, that was nothing more than a rumor, since few people ever attempted to climb the cliff; after all, the sheer size and magnitude of the it made climbing it a formidable challenge. Even those who made it to the top of the cliff immediately went missing, and were never seen nor heard from again. Nobody knew where the rumors started, either, and there were some people who couldn't even remember where they heard it. Nonetheless, the rumors persisted, almost as if they were daring the people in town to attempt to climb. And I was the latest to attempt the challenge.

It wasn't terribly difficult, at least for me. I'd had plenty of experience with rock climbing in the past: it was a personal hobby of mine, and something I'd been doing for years now. The cliff certainly was high and steep, yes, but it wasn't the worst cliff I'd ever come across; not even close, in fact. It wasn't an easy climb, and I did have a few close calls, but it wasn't anything that I couldn't handle. And I definitely wasn't going to let it deter me from finding out about the cave's secrets: what the rumors were all about, and what had happened to the people who had gone up there previously. I was determined to find the truth, and I wasn't about to let a mere cliff stand in my way.

Thus, I found myself at the top, staring into the entrance to the cave. The entrance was fairly small, and it was dark inside, making it difficult to see. But I knew that the answers I wanted were in there somewhere, and I was going to find them. I took a deep breath, than stepped inside, bracing myself for what I was about to-

"Hmm? Is someone there?"

"Huh?" The voice completely took me by surprise. I hadn't expected anyone else to be in the cave, especially not someone with a voice that sounded like that. It was deep yet feminine, curious yet commanding, prideful with just a hint of seductiveness. I could only imagine what kind of person it had come from... but I knew that I wouldn't have to imagine for long. "Who's there?" I yelled, my voice shaking just a tad.

"Oh? Ah, so there is someone! Excellent! It's been too long since I've had a visitor, you know!" The voice seemed far more cheerful now. "It's quite the pleasure to meet you. My name is Rosette."

"A-Adam. Adam Jones." I blinked, running a hand through my curly black hair. "Um... could you come out from wherever you're hiding, please?"

"Hiding? I'm not-" The voice stopped, a slight chuckle following it. "Oh, right. You can't see me, can you? You know, it still surprises me how often I forget how poor your eyesight really is."

"Huh?" Did... did this person know about my bad eyesight somehow? "Um... how did you know about that?" I asked, reaching up to feel my glasses.

"Hmm? Oh, I'm sorry. When I said *your* eyesight, I was talking about the eyesight of your species, generally. Hold on, let me give this place some light so that you can see me!" I heard whoever was in there snap their fingers, before the inside of the cave was suddenly flooded with light. I squinted, giving my eyes a moment to adjust, before I looked back into the cave to see who I was talking to. And that's when I got the shock of my life.

Sitting there in the back of the cave on a purple-blue couch was... well, I wasn't quite sure how to describe it. It almost looked like some kind of lizard-esque creature, though its body proportions were incredibly human-like. Its mannerisms were completely human as well: I could see it sitting on the couch, crossing its legs and spreading its arms out while gazing down at me with a grin on its face. But the fact that it wasn't human was made painfully obvious by the black and purple scales covering its body, the claws on its hands and feet, the long tail, the wings, and of course, the horribly draconic face. It was as if a dragon had decided that it wished to become more human-like and transformed itself to reflect this desire... or perhaps vice versa. But dragons didn't exist, and it certainly wasn't possible for a human to make themselves look like one! How was this possible?

"Surprised, aren't you?" asked the draconic creature, the feminine voice from earlier unmistakably belonging to it. Or rather her, since I knew that the creature was most likely female with a voice like that. She stood up, stretching her limbs in a very human-like fashion as her tail dropped to the ground behind her. "I understand that you humans are quite unaccustomed to seeing a creature like me. But that's okay. After all, what creature wouldn't be shocked upon seeing such beauty as this?" She chuckled once again, spreading her arms and showing off her scaly body to me. "I am beautiful, aren't I?"

"Um..." Given what she was, beautiful wasn't exactly what I would have used to describe her... but given the circumstances, I figured it was probably better to not antagonize her. "Of... of course you are!" I said, trying to sound as enthusiastic as possible. "Um... you said your name was Rosette, correct?"

"That's right! Rosette is my name." As she said it, she began walking towards me, looking down at me with an almost predatory gaze. As she did, I noticed that she was much larger than I was: she had to have been at least seven feet tall, and given that she was a dragon, her muscular strength probably wasn't anything to sneeze at, either. "So... what brings you here, anyway?" she asked. "I'm sure it must have been quite the ordeal just to get to this place. What reason could you possibly have to come all the way up here?"

"Well..." I looked behind me to the mouth of the cave, then back at Rosette. "I guess... I wanted to see if the rumors were true? The ones about being rewarded with exceptional powers?" My heart rate began speeding up as I looked up at her, my voice shaking as I spoke. "And... I wanted to find out what happened to all of the other people who came up here. The ones who went missing."

"Ah, of course!" replied Rosette with a laugh. "Yes... it seems that spreading those rumors in that small town of yours worked wonders. I've had people coming up here almost endlessly since the moment I settled in! Or at least, attempt to come up here," She motioned to the mouth of the cave with one of her clawed hands. "I can't have just anyone come up here to visit me, you know. That's why I chose to live at the top of this cliff. It takes a special kind of person to climb all the way up here... someone with a lot of skill, determination, and courage. All of which are traits I look for in a potential... partner."

"P-partner?" My mouth was starting to go dry as I watched the dragon woman inch ever closer to me, towering over me. "Wait... so you're the one who started those rumors about coming up here?"

"Exactly! And I must say, it certainly brought the lot of you running!" Laughing, Rosette suddenly looked away from me, turning her gaze to the other areas of the cave. "Once someone managed to come up here, I'd show them around the place for a bit, make them feel nice and secure. And then I'd give them the powers they so desired, along with a few... other things." She giggled. "After that was done, I'd send them on their way, allowing them to make use of those new powers of theirs. Such powers often come to such lofty ambitions, you know... I can't imagine any of them wanting to return to that little old town of yours after I'm through with them!"

"Oh. I... see." My face flushed red as I took a look around the cave myself, my attention being drawn away from Rosette for the first time since seeing her. I noticed that the lights flooding the cave were actually coming from the cave's walls... though there didn't seem to be any light bulbs in place. Instead, it looked like the light was emanating from the walls themselves, though it was difficult to get a good look at them with how bright they were. Other than that, the only things about the cave worth noting were the couch that Rosette had been sitting on and the nightstand that was right next to it. It looked like there was some kind of magazine on the stand as well, but I couldn't get a good look at it from where I was. "So... nice place you got here, huh?" I said. "Kinda small, though..."

"Oh, I don't mind," replied Rosette, looking rather pleased with herself. "It's not like I'm trapped here forever, you know. I can always go out flying whenever I'm bored... especially since I can guarantee that nobody will be able to see me. Like this." As I watched, she held out one of her hands in front of her body, flexing and spreading her fingers out. Suddenly, before my eyes, her hand began to disappear, vanishing into thin air until there was nothing more than a stump at the end of her arm. "I'm quite proficient at magic, you know," she said, her hand slowly fading into view again as she spoke. "Vanishing like this is a rather simple trick, too. Simply a matter of manipulating light particles to bend around your body instead of bouncing off."

"Wow!" I said in awe, watching her hand fully reappear. "That's... that's amazing!"

"Isn't it? And that's not even all I can do." She motioned to the walls of the cave, gesturing at the lights shining on the walls. "I can create light as well as manipulate it, too," she said. "That's how I managed to create these lights. And light isn't the only thing I can manipulate. Just watch." She began walking back over to the couch, placing her hand on it as soon as she got there. In an instant, the couch began to compress, growing smaller and smaller until it could fit into the palm of her hand. "And one more thing." She walked over to one of the cave walls, reaching out with to it with her hand. But instead of touching it, her hand passed right though it as if it wasn't even there! Her arm proceed to vanish into it as well, until only her shoulder was sticking out. "Matter manipulation is a bit more difficult than light manipulation," she said, pressing her other hand against the wall and pushing until her arm and hand had completely emerged from it. "But it's still doable with enough practice. And it was necessary for me to get all this stuff in here, too."

"Yeah... that makes sense..." I said, still trying to get over my shock. Not only was there a literal dragon woman in front of me, but she had magical powers as well? Wait... magical powers? "Hold on..." I said, finally putting two and two together. "Is that... is that what you give to anyone who visits you? Are those the exceptional powers you mentioned?"

Rosette grinned. "Now you're getting it!" she said with a smile. "Yes, anyone who visits me will gain the ability to do this as well. And a... special bonus, as I mentioned earlier." She giggled once again, holding out an arm towards me. "But enough talk. I think it's high time I gave you exactly what you came here for, don't you? After all, you did come all this way, and I'm sure you're just dying for a reward!" She beckoned me forward, her finger curling in a rather seductive manner. "Come on, don't be shy. It'll be easy, trust me!"

I felt my cheeks flushing as I watched her, my full attention on her once again. "Um... yeah, sure!" I said as I started walking towards her, my heart pounding in anticipation. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect when I got there, but if it resulted in me being able to do some of that magic stuff... well, I wasn't about to pass up such an opportunity! And that "special bonus" that supposedly came afterwards... even though she was fairly vague about it, I was pretty sure I could guess what it was! "So... how's this going to work?" I asked as I approached her. "Are you going to just sit down and teach me, or-"

"Oh, no. Much simpler than that!" Suddenly, Rosette's arms shot out, her hands closing around mine. "It's more of a... transferal than anything. Don't worry, though: like I said, it'll be easy! Just relax and enjoy!" As I looked up at her, watching her stare down at me with that predatory grin of hers, I noticed her slowly lifting one of her legs, lifting her foot into the air... before suddenly slamming it down on top of my own foot!

I immediately flinched, bracing myself for the pain. But it never came: instead, I was met with a heavy sensation within my foot, accompanied by a slight tingling. I looked down, and my eyes widened: her foot had passed right through mine, just as her hand had passed through the wall moments ago! Still grinning, she began slowly rubbing her foot back and forth within mine, causing the heaviness and tingling to increase further. The sensation was practically indescribable... it was as if her very essence was seeping into me, overpowering everything else. My foot didn't even feel normal anymore; in fact, it felt like it was growing, pressing against the confines of my hiking boot...

Suddenly, Rosette slowly drew her foot back towards her, causing my own foot to suddenly burst through my boot! "Gah!" I cried, thrown off balance as my footwear fell to the ground, giving me full view of the changes taking place. My foot was still growing larger, purple scales sprouting across it as my toes merged and toenails grew into deadly claws. Eyes wide, I looked over at Rosette's foot, then back at my own, realizing that they looked exactly like each other... as if Rosette was trying to make me look more like her. "Um, Rosette?" I said, feeling my heel lift up as my stance shifted, throwing me even further off balance. "What... what are you doing?"

Rosette's response was to slam her other foot down on my other foot, prompting the same heavy, tingling sensation in it. "I told you to relax, didn't I?" she asked, rubbing her foot within mine once again. "This'll be nice and easy, don't worry!" She drew her foot back as I felt the changes progressing once again, my foot growing through my footwear and shifting just as the other had. By the time it was done, I was standing on two clawed, scaled digitigrade appendages that looked identical to Rosette's. But even more concerning than that was the fact that it didn't feel any different than normal... like my feet had been this way my entire life. I knew that they hadn't, of course, but when I tried to remember what my old feet looked like, or even what it was like having them, I ended up drawing a complete blank. I simply couldn't remember having anything other than these.

Rosette just laughed, lifting up one of her feet again. "Having fun yet?" she asked, her claws almost gleaming in the light. "Don't back out yet, because we're just getting started!" This time, her foot shot forward towards my leg, passing right through it just as it had with my own feet. The moment it did, though, I felt a shiver run through my leg, as black and purple scales began growing across it. It even began bulking up, draconic strength and muscle spreading across it and making my other leg look weak and tiny in comparison. But that was soon to be fixed as well, as I watched Rosette lift up her other foot and pass it through my other leg, prompting even more strange sensations and changes. Both of my legs grew larger and larger, increasing my height and pressing against my shorts. By the time it was done, I was standing at over six feet tall, and my legs were fully encompassed by scales and muscles. And once again, I couldn't remember them looking any different; I remembered that they used to be human, but failed to recall any details about them beyond that.

Suddenly, I felt a heavy sensation in my lower back, and I quickly swiveled my head to see what had happened. When I did, I noticed that Rosette had wrapped her tail behind me and stuck it into my back near where my tailbone was, just as she had stuck her feet into my legs. As she continued to push it in, I suddenly felt my hips widening, tearing apart what remained of my shorts. As scaled spread to cover my crotch, I realized that manhood had completely disappeared; it wasn't just covered by the scales, it had actually vanished completely, replaced by what I could only describe as the... the feminine equivalent. I blinked, unable to believe what was happening. Was I... turning into a girl, too?

As the question crossed my mind, I suddenly felt an intense tugging on my spine. Smiling, Rosette slowly pulled her tail out of my back, the tugging increasing further as she did... almost as if she was the one pulling on it. But as soon as Rosette's tail emerged, I noticed that it was wrapped around something else: something that was attached to my own back. The tugging sensation continued as she pulled at it, and I quickly realized exactly what it was: a tail. My tail. She continued to pull on it until it was just as long as her own tail before dropping it, the sensation of it hitting the ground causing me to gasp. I quickly lifted it up, moving it around with ease... and once again, finding that I could no longer recall what it was like to not have one. It seemed that in addition to my body, Rosette was rewriting my mind, making my more accustomed to this new body in exchange for making me unaccustomed to humanity. Even my gender change seemed to be reflected in this, my specific memories of being male starting to fade along with everything else.

"Come on, don't fail on me now! We're not done yet!" I suddenly felt Rosette's hands begin to squeeze around my own, triggering more changes throughout them. I felt my fingers stretching out as more scales spread across them, my fingernails growing curved and sharp. I felt my muscles growing out more, the same draconic strength that had filled my legs now filling my arms as the purple and black scales spread across them. As that same familiarity with them settled in my mind, I realized something: both my arms and my lower body looked exactly like Rosette's. Every detail was the same, including tail length, muscular composition... everything. Only my head and torso remained unchanged, but judging by the look in Rosette's eyes and that grin she was wearing, I got the feeling that wasn't going to be true for long.

With a smirk, Rosette suddenly let go of my hands, before plunging her own hands straight into my chest. She looked down at me as she did, smiling as I felt more changes taking place: my body bulking up, scales growing as my height increased even further. My shirt began feeling too tight on my body, and I quickly tore it off using my claws, revealing my new scaly body and... breasts? Yes, there appeared to be a small pair of breasts growing out of my chest, though they were only visible from a short distance. Frowning, I looked up at Rosette, and... yep. There was a pair of breasts just like them on her own chest. How had I not noticed them before? They weren't the only feminine feature on my torso, though: looking down, I noticed that my body was becoming slightly curvier, slimming out into an hourglass shape while retaining the bulk caused by my growth. Just like Rosette's body.

Rosette flashed another grin, and I suddenly felt her arms push even further into my chest, her fists clenching as they did. Suddenly, I felt another pressure in my upper back, this time split between two separate parts. The pressure only increased as Rosette pushed her arms into my chest... until with a final thrust, it burst free, exploding out of my back. I quickly looked behind me to see two large leathery wings protruding from my back, colored black and purple just like Rosette's. And of course, I was able to control them easily: just like my other body parts, the memory of having them seemed to be ingrained into my brain the moment they appeared. I turned my head away from them to seen Rosette approaching me, and I knew that things weren't over for me quite yet.

"You're almost done," she said, removing her arms from my chest. "Just one more shift, and you'll be ready!" Grabbing my head, she suddenly leaned in, placing her lips upon mine. The kiss was so unexpected that my guard immediately dropped, opening the door for the changes to progress even faster. She brought her hands down to my neck and massaged it, causing it to lengthen until we were the exact same height. Next, she brought her hands up to my face, causing black scales to spread from my neck to my head. My hair began falling out as she leaned back, drawing my face out and lengthening it to match her own. As my new muzzle grew, I could feel my teeth growing as well, multiplying and sharpening into fangs. As soon as my muzzle had fully formed, Rosette withdrew, stepping back and allowing me to get a good feel for what had just happened to me.

I lifted my hands up to my new muzzle, trying to get a good feel for what she had done. It still felt normal, just like the rest of my body, but that didn't make it any less shocking! Every single part of my body, from my head to my tail, was completely identical to Rosette's... like she had turned me into a carbon copy of herself. But... why? What reason did she have to turn me into some kind of clone of herself? I looked, up, only to notice Rosette's face just inches from mine. I jumped back, startled, but she simply smiled. "Just one more change," she said, grabbing my head again. "And we'll be good to go!" As I watched in complete shock, she slowly tilted her head back... before ramming it right through my own head!

My eyes widened as my hands shot up to my head, my heart pounding rapidly. I realized that Rosette was no longer in front of me: her entire body had disappeared. Yet I could feel her... I could feel the entirety of her being inside of me, flowing through my entire body. I squeezed my eyes shut, holding my head tightly as I felt her flow through me, her essence spreading throughout every inch of my body. Every part of me felt like it was disappearing... my humanity, my memories, everything... simply draining away, vanishing into nothingness. Every part... disappearing, replaced by... Rosette. Everything... was... Rosette...

I was Rosette.

My eyes suddenly opened. I blinked a few times, looking around the cave. The cave that I called home. I looked down at my body, chuckling to myself. That had been so easy, I almost felt bad about it. Noticing a scrap of the human's clothing on my shoulder, I nonchalantly flicked it away with a grin. He wouldn't be needing that anymore... after all, he no longer existed.

Suddenly, a shimmer ran through my body as I felt another being emerge from it, stepping out into the cave. She looked exactly like I did: her tail, wings, scales, and all other parts of her body were completely identical to mine. "Well well... it seems I was successful once again!" she said, laughing. "So, how do you feel... Adam?"

I laughed as well, my laugh sounding exactly like hers. "I feel fantastic!" I said. "But please... call me Rosette. That is my name, after all... I'm sure you know that, right?"

"Of course I do!" cried the other dragoness. "After all, it's my name, too!" We laughed in unison for a few minutes, before the other Rosette looked up at the ceiling. "Anyway, I suppose you should probably get going now. You'll need to find a home of your own soon, after all... and then you'll need to work on decorating it, figuring out how to lure people into it..."

"Yes, yes, I know. I've done it plenty of times before, remember?" I sighed. Splitting your consciousness was always a gamble, since there was a fifty-fifty shot as to whether you would stay in your body or end up in the body of the victim... and I'd ended up in the victim's body this time, so the burden of finding a new base of operations fell on me.

"I think you mean that WE'VE done it plenty of times before," said the other Rosette. "After all, we are the same person. Or have you forgotten?"

"Of course I haven't forgotten! I could never forget something so important!" I laughed, before turning towards the base of the cave. "Anyway, I ought to be going now. I'll see you... well, I guess I'll see you all the time, since you're still me. Anyway, take care, and don't do anything I wouldn't do! Not that you can, of course!" With that, I spread my wings and jumped up, lifting myself through the ceiling of the cave into the sky above the cliffs.

Laughing to myself, I raced off to begin my search for a new home. Another successful conversion... shame I'd ended up as the victim this time, but that couldn't be helped. After all, when your body was as flawless as mine, you couldn't help but feel the need to... spread it around as much as possible. Sure, it involved a lot of consciousness splitting, which always came with the risk of needing to be the one to relocate, but that was a pretty small price to pay in my opinion. And hey, it opened the door to a fresh new batch of victims, which always kept things interesting, and that was just the way I liked it. As long as they kept coming, and I was able to convert them, I was happy. And hey, if I kept it up, then maybe one day I would be able to fill the whole world with clones of myself! I sighed happily as I flew on, my eyes half closed with contentment. Ah, what a fine day that would be...
