Return of the Dragon Knight
Fang entered the ship silent and cold, the blood dripped from his fur and spikes as Tamati followed behind him staring at this beast who was suppose to be his partner but Krystal sensed something deep inside him filled with sorrow and told the others she was going to keep an eye on him.
After washing up Fang headed to the ships lounge for a drink where Krystal was waiting for him. He only stared at her for a few seconds the sat on the chair next to her expecting a lecture on self control during a mission.
"If this is about what I did don't expect me to apologize for it."
"You don't have to....your heart tells me everything."
"Grrr....I don't have to listen to this."
"Fang please let me help! let me be your friend...."
Fang turned to her ready to push her away but the look she had on her face reminded him of his mother back on Mobius and the rage soon left his eyes.
"What do you want?"
"To help....why do fight as you do? what made you like this?"
".....Years ago when Robotnik created me....I was sent to take care of a bandit camp near the city, the badits were armed to the teeth and ready to kill but they were no match for me....one by one they fell,my sword cut right through them like grass and when the dust settled I discovered something horrible....the bodies of innocent villagers had been killed because of my recklessness but Robotnik didn't care he was only satisfied with his finest creation...that day has haunted me ever since my imprisonment."
Krystal could see the guilt in his eyes as if the event had just happened yesterday, then Fang did something she would not expect. A tear dropped from his eyes and he slowly began to cry as he held his head in shame, Krystal hugged him and couldn't help but cry herself knowing that Fang was forced to serve such an evil man soon it began to feel like she was comforting the little brother she never had as she brought Fangs face to meet hers.
"Your family and people back home are right Fang....though what you did was unforgiveable you can repent for those lives by serving with honor as you once did....start over."
After many years of war and death Fang smiled for the first time in his life and hugged Krystal, thanking her for helping him see the truth after so long but the happy moment was cut short as Fox contacted them on the communicator.
"Guys we got trouble! Tamati and the others are under attack!"
"Is it more of the enemy?!?"
"No it's something else *CRZZT!!!* hurry!"
They rushed back outside the and what they saw was something out of their nightmares. A giant monstrous insect had destroyed half of their base and in the middle of the chaos Fang spotted Fox and the others who had been cornered as the creature moved in for the kill.
"OVER HERE!!"
"Krystal!!"
Krystal distracted the beast with a blast from her staff but it didn't even scratch the skin of the beast as it charged at her but Krystal ran beneath it and lead the others to safety until she broke her leg on an unseen stone as Fox ran to her trying to get her up.
"FOX!!! KRYSTAL!!! GET OUT OF THERE!!!!"
Tamati rushed to their side as he drew thunder edge but against a foe this size it would take a miracle to bring it down. The beast raised its claws ready to strike, Tamati closed his eyes awaiting the coming blow but a loud clang of metal was all he heard followed by a familiar voice.
"NO!!!!"
"Fang?"
Fang had jumped in at the last moment cutting off the creatures limb in one clean sweep of his blade, then his sword transformed into a ten foot long Katana surging with lightning, the whole team saw that his eyes had been changed the fierceness and rage were all gone and his blood lust had completely left him.
"YOU WILL NOT HARM MY FRIENDS!!!!"
"Friends? us?"
Fox couldn't believe what he was hearing but as Fang stood his ground he knew every word that he said was true to his heart.
"Now creature! Suffer the wrath of a Dragon Knight-GYAAAAAGH!!!!"
Fang leaped into the air cleaving off the claws that came at him, forcing the creature back, Tamati soon joined in and was greeted by Fang with a smirk before returning his attention to the beast, the others soon followed behind and within moments the creature fell dead on its back.
Fang dropped his sword and fell to his knees completely exhausted and dripping in sweat. Tamati was one of the first to congragulate him with a pat on the shoulder as he helped him to his feet, Fang then saw the others smiling at him with pride and he smiled as well since he now had people he could call "Friends".
While the base was going under repairs a part of the beast was taken back to the ship for examination, Rob; The ships android pilot analyzed the DNA and blurted out only one name.
"APPAROID! APPAROID! APPAROID!"
Nobody on the team knew of such a creature or that it even existed but they had a feeling the general had an idea.
