#10 of Writing Prompts

The writing prompt for this week is to write a story consiting of mostly dialogue. This was hard for me, and I'm not sure if I like the dialogue as much as I thought I did when I wrote it. But it will have to suffice for the time being. As always, critiques and comments are appreciated.

"How do you always get in these kind of trouble?"

"Do we really have to do this now?"

"Well, this is the third time. This month. I can't help but wonder."

"Curiosity killed the cat."

"Then it's a good thing I'm a wolf"

"Shut up you mutt. Just help me out."

"Hmm...okay, just let me try to pull, grab your legs like this. Hmph! Wait, no, it won't work like this. There, that's better. One, two, three. Ugh!"

"Ouch! Stop, stop. Aargh! What's with the great idea? "

"You said you wanted out"

"And you had to pull so hard?!"

"If you didn't have so much padding, it would have worked"

"Did you just call me fat?!"

"You just have "more to love". I know, I know"

"You just wait until I'm o-aahh! What the hell Eder?"

"I thought you were relaxed, so it was easier to pull you out. It was worth another try."

"A little warning would have been nice."

"And wait until you're ready? Don't you remember our last date? It took you 2 hours to get ready. Two. Freaking. Hours."

"I wanted to look my best for you!"

"But I quite like this view. Just look at this as, so bulbous, so soft and..."

"Hey!"

"Made to be grabbed"

"Quit it, you horndog. Look, just get me out of here. My back is killing me."

"Okay, so, how about you try sucking in that gut of yours, then I pull?"

"What do you think I've been doing all this time?"

"Wait, really, damn. No more late night snacks for you"

"I-I just pack weight easily."

"And I love you for it. Now, this may feel weird, but try not too move too much. I'm just going to try to push this a bit here, and squish a bit there."

"Wait, where are you touching? Hey, hey, stop, that feels, ha ha, stop, it's, ha ha ha, please stop, stop, ha ha ha ha ha"

"Come on Michael, if you keep trashing like that it'll never work"

"Hah, hah, hah. It's not, hah hah, my fault I'm ticklish there."

"Just, try to hold your breath, think of math, your grandma's home, I don't know. That's it, just like that, now, let me see if I can get you out. Ready? Suck in that gut. More. Come on Michael, you're not getting out like that. Good, good, now, let me try this. No, no, not there. Let's see, if I push here, and try to get it under this, there, good, good, that's it. Just keep that gut in, just a bit more. And-Oh come on, it was working! "

"I can't keep holding my breath for that long! And you're not helping. I'm not some teddy bear you can just, squeeze and pull. I have feelings!"

"And padding."

"And padding. Wait, no!"

"Your words, not mine."

"When I get my hands on you, I'll make you pay"

"Promises, promises. Now, stop the grumpy bear act, I'm trying to think of a way to get you out."

"You. Think? Ha, there will be world peace first. "

"Har, har. You're killing me. Maybe I'll leave you there for a couple of hours."

"No! No, Eder, just, please get me out of here."

"Wait. I think I got it. Just, hold tight there"

"Like I got a choice."

"I'll be back, try not too get too lonely"

"Eder, don't you dare- Eder? Eder, are you there? Fucker, leaving me here. Sure, sure. I'll be here. Waiting. All alone. In the dark. Trapped. Surrounded by- No, no. That's enough. Get your shit together Michael. Time to get out. Uuggghh. Okay, okay, I just, I just need a better grip. Hmph. Aarrggh. Huff, huff. Damn. Maybe I should lay off the brownies. And the cakes. Once a day. Okay, okay, 5 times a week, but that's my final offer... Shit. Eder! Where the fuck are you? Don't leave me here! Eder!"

"Would you quit it? The whole neighborhood must have heard you. You're worse than my father"

"Oh thank the Gods, you're back."

"Couldn't live without me? I'm touched"

"No. Maybe. Yes. I don't do well in places like, well, like this"

"Now, now big guy. It's going to be okay."

"And every time you have said that, things go wrong. Or have you forgotten my cousin Raphael's party"

"I never saw fur catch on fire that quickly. But, nothing to worry about. This plan is fool proof"

"Maybe we should call a professional. The firemen? A plumber? My mom? She got really good at getting my dad out of these kinds of situations."

"Don't you worry about a thing, we'll get you out of there soon enough"

"Whenever you say that, I worry. So, can we please call my mom"

"You of little faith. When I get you out, you're going to owe me big time."

"Gods protect me."

"Okay, this is going to feel a little weird. But just try to ignore it. Ready?"

"No. I'll never be ready"

"Here we go then. I'll just pour it over your big gut."

"Eder, what the heck is this? It feels viscous, sticky, and gods above, what's that smell?"

"Fish oil. Now, stop moving so much. I'm trying to work here."

"Why the hell is there fish oil in our home?"

"My grandma gave us fish oil when we were sick. I always keep a bit on hand"

"She did what?! Your grandma was wild. Mine only gave me chicken soup."

"Suck in your gut for a bit. I need to apply the oil to the frame. There, that should be enough. I'm going to start pulling on the count of three."

"Can't we discuss this?"

"One"

"Please be gentle."

"Two. Three! Aaarrrgghh!"

"Aaaahhh! W-what? Freedom, Freedom at last! Thank you Gods!"

"You're such a drama queen."

"When you're trapped under the sink for 2 hours, you can call me drama queen. Until then shhh. And now you, are helping me clean up."

"Sure, just let me-"

"Now, come on."

"Hey, let me down!"

"Nope."
