Digital Bonding By Natsuru

"Ngh...uhn...mmm!" Stirring himself awake, Natsuru got up and shook his head. The dragon rubbed his head as he checked his surroundings; realizing that he wasn't in his room. "What the...is this some kind of jungle?" As he continued to look around, he noticed he wasn't the only one in the jungle, as he spotted his friends, Haru and Drake; unconscious on the ground. The dragon rushed over to the gryphon and lynx, and immediately shook their bodies; "Haru...Drake...get up! Please don't be dead you two."

The first of the two to get up was Haru, and just like what the dragon had done prior, he checked his surroundings before his eyes focused on Natsuru. The gryphon didn't waste a second to embrace Natsuru; clinging onto him tightly. "What a great thing to wake up to", Haru said; making the dragon blush in response to that.

"Oh blimey; couldn't you two find a better time to be all lovey-dovey?" The two turned their heads to the direction of the voice; the voice belonging to Drake, who had just gotten up. The lynx grabbed his hat; placing it on his head as he stood up. Haru sent the lynx a smug look; "Jealous?"

"Ha, you wish, mate."

Seeing that the gryphon appeared to be getting angry, Natsuru lightly tapped Haru on the head with his fist; "Alright you two; knock it off", the dragon said. The avian released his hold from Natsuru; allowing the both of them to stand on their feet. "Do you guys have any idea where we are", Natsuru asked; the response he got from his friends were their heads shaking.

"I'm just trying to remember how we even got here", Drake said.

The three stood in place; thinking about how they wound up where they were. That's when Haru let out a gasp; "I think I remember now." Catching their attention, the dragon and the lynx turned their heads over to Haru; waiting for the gryphon to explain. "If I recall correctly, this just happens to be the Professor's fault", Haru started; "I think she...wanted us to test out her new invention. Something happened...something bad, I think, and this is where we are." There was silence, and as baffling as Haru's explanation was, neither Natsuru and Drake could deny the gryphon's words. Just as Haru had recalled that event, the same happened to the dragon and the lynx upon listening. A grin appeared across Natsuru's mouth, and a small growl could be heard coming from him.

"Oh just great; so this is the fault of technology once again", Natsuru said in annoyance. Haru nodded his head in agreement, as he too was distrusting of technology not from his world. Drake placed a head upon his own forehead, as he shook his head. "Y'know, you two need to really get over your phobia of technology", Drake said; "It may be very different from your world, but they aren't all bad. Now then, let's try to find a way out from this area." With there really not being anything for them to do, Natsuru and Haru nodded their heads in agreement to the lynx's words, and started heading off. The three were walking in a straight line through the jungle; they didn't know where they were heading, but they were just hoping they would find some sort of sanctuary.

As the three walked, Haru continued checking his surroundings throughout the jungle; getting a sense of familiarity from it. "Hey, Natsuru; doesn't this area seem quite similar to the forests back on our home?" Taking his words to heart, the dragon started looking throughout every direction through the jungle. Nothing came off as familiar to him as he looked around; the area was just too radically different to him. "Do you think it's possible that the Professor somehow sent us back to our planet", Haru asked. Before immediately responding back, Natsuru looked up directly at the sky; "No, I can definitely tell that this place isn't Phantasia. Look at the sky!" All three stopped in placed and Haru and Drake looked up at the sky. The three knew it was daylight, but the sky didn't show that as the whole thing looked like an aurora. Not only that, but they could also make out some strange pattern-like designs in the sky as well.

Drake let out a gasp as he recognized the patterns; "Those designs and shapes look exactly like pieces of a motherboard." Bringing their attention away from the sky, Natsuru and Haru brought their attention to Drake, since to them it seemed that the lynx probably knew more about their predicament. "Mates, I think we might just be inside of a computer." There was silence once again as the dragon and the lynx looked around some more; noticing particle bits of data flowing off from everything and into the sky. Just the very thought and idea that they were trapped inside of some technological device, had brought a sense of despair and fear to Natsuru and Haru; the two fell down to their knees as such.

"This is exactly what we feared, Haru; trapped inside of some technology we know nothing about", Natsuru said in a very gloomy tone. "Now, we're probably going to die here." Drake rolled his eyes at how dramatic Natsuru was being; not to say that the lynx wasn't afraid of what would and could happen to them, he just didn't want to have negative thoughts going through his head right now. The feline's ears suddenly twitched in response to another growling sound, and it wasn't just his as Haru's own ears were twitching too. Natsuru brought his arms around his stomach; the growling come from him. "Ngh...I'm hungry now", he said in a low tone.

On cue, the respective stomachs of Haru and Drake started to growl too. Looking around for anything that looked edible, Drake soon spotted some fruits - namely apples and bananas - hanging from the trees; bits of data coming off from them like everything else. Considering their situation, it wasn't really all that important to worry about how the fruit looked; they still needed to eat to survive. "Cheer up, Nat; at least there are some apples and bananas for us to eat on", Drake said as he took a banana off from one of the trees. The feline licked his lips as he peeled the fruit; his happy expression immediately changed to that of annoyance, "There's nothing in here." True to the lynx's words, there was no actual banana inside; all that was left on the feline's hands were the peels.

Getting back up on his feet, Natsuru grabbed an apple from the tree; "Fruit is ok, but I much rather have something like meat to eat on." Upon taking a bite of the apple, Natsuru's eyes had immediately widened and he spit out what he'd taken into his mouth. "Ugh...disgusting! This apple tastes like raw meat." Upon hearing that, Haru took the apple from the dragon's hand and inspected it; a smirk appeared on the gryphon's beak as he took two more apples from the trees. With his fire magic, Haru cooked the apples; returning the one Natsuru bit into back to him, and giving one to Drake. Together, the three were happily eating away at the meat apples. They even made note about how the color of their apples tasted like a different meat product; the green one Natsuru was eating tasted like steak, the red one that Haru was eating tasted like bacon, and the yellow one that Drake was eating tasted like roast.

"Well, the good thing is we won't die of starvation here", Drake said in delight. "See Nat, there was nothing to worry or be overly dramatic about."

"I can admit that I was being rather pessimistic", Natsuru said as he took another bite of his apple; "I am sorry about that." With an ounce of hope returning to that dragon, Natsuru was calm as he continued eating. However, that was short lived as the reptile's ears twitched. "Hey...did you guys hear that?" Putting their eating on hold for a brief moment, the three friends looked around and then upwards; seeing leaves slowly falling off from the trees. It was assumed that there was nothing, and that the sound Natsuru heard was just the trees rustling in the wind. The three resumed their eating, but then Natsuru's ears twitched once more; "Ok, did you two hear some hissing sounds?"

Drake and Haru raised a brow as they stopped eating their apples. "Are you sure that's what you heard, Natsuru", Haru asked in concern.

"I'm serious; I know I heard something", Natsuru responded back. Right behind the dragon - hiding within the shrubbery of the jungle - there were a pair of eyes watching the three. Sparks appeared in the eyes as whoever they belonged to was making its move towards the three. "I think...I think there's something here watching us." After Natsuru had uttered those words, the dragon was suddenly struck hard from behind, and sent flying right into one of the many trees. The dragon was smashed head first into the tree; causing his goggles to crack, and sustain a head injury that resulted in him bleeding.

"NATSURU!"

"NAT!"

The groans that escaped the dragon's mouth, as well as his body shaking a bit, were sure signs that Natsuru was at least ok. Aware of the threat, Haru and Drake got themselves on guard, as they turned their attention to where the attacker was. The two glared as they got themselves ready for whatever was soon to come; Haru summoning what looked to be pistols with his flames, and Drake enveloped himself in a magical aura that made his claws grow and sharpen, as his eyes changed from green to yellow. Coming out from hiding was a giant snake; a white cobra with a horn on its forehead. The hood of the snake was purple - the same color of its underbelly - and it sported what looked to be a green chestplate. "Well now, I didn't expect to come across such devine prey", it spoke; its voice sounding very deep and masculine.

It was at that moment that Natsuru regained consciousness, and managed to get himself back on his feet. After wiping the blood off from his head, the dragon turned to face his attacker; summoning forth a sworn into his hands. "An armless naga", Natsuru questioned as he laid his eyes on the snake.

The cobra let out a snicker, "I'm Sandiramon"; it introduced itself. "Hmm...y'know, I've been to many parts of the Digital World and seen nearly every digimon in existence", it continued to talk; "However...I don't recall ever seeing any digimon like you three." The cobra's words instilled confusion into the three's heads, and made them question everything. What was the Digital World? What were these things called digimon? The three decided to worry about those questions later, as they needed to focus on the current threat. "Doesn't really matter, though, as you three won't have long to live."

As soon as Sandiramon had stopped speaking, it immediately proceeded to attack. It launched itself at the three, but with its attack being easily read, the three quickly dodged out of the way in different directions. Because it was a one versus three situation, Sandiramon focused its sights on whoever was closest; that being Natsuru. The giant cobra let out a powerful roar at the dragon, only for Natsuru to dodge the attack. Because he avoided the attack, the roar had instead hit one of the trees, and to Natsuru's horror, he bared witness to what could've befallen him; the tree had dissolved completely right before his eyes. "Th-that attack..." Natsuru said as his body trembled; "Would the same have happened to me if I were struck?"

Looking at the fear upon his face, Sandiramon couldn't help but laugh, as it was slithering its way over to the dragon. Seemingly having forgotten about the others, Haru came in and was shooting at the giant cobra. It didn't look like the gryphon's assault was leaving a mark, but it was enough to annoy the snake. With its focus now on the avian, Sandiramon let out that powerful roar at him. Seeing that, Haru quickly dodged out of the way; leaving another tree to dissolve. As the gryphon dodged the attack, he conjured up a fireball in his right hand and threw it directly into the cobra's face.

The snake was angry, and just as it was about to retaliate, that only ended up leaving Sandiramon wide open. Behind it, Drake rushed in and began slashing away on the cobra's hood. The claw swipes further annoyed the cobra, and in response it used its tail to swipe the lynx away. Just as it was about to change its focus over to Drake, that's when Natsuru rushed up to it; "You left yourself wide open", and then he slashed the cobra's side with his blade.

"GRAHHHHHH", Sandiramon screamed out in pain; it seemed that Natsuru managed to leave a cut on the giant snake. "You three are proving to be a real nuisance for mere low level digimon", Sandiramon said in anger; "I thought killing you three would be simple enough, but I guess I need to get serious." Sandiramon opened its mouth; it was assumed that it would do that roar attack again, but instead - to the surprise of the three friends - the giant cobra produced a spear from its mouth. The snake held onto the spear with its tail and smirked as it glared at Natsuru. The snake thrust its weapon forward in an attempt to stab the dragon, only for Natsuru to use his sword to block the attack.

A vile, red aura of sorts enveloped the spearhead, and seeing that made sweat appear on Natsuru's face. For whatever reason, Natsuru took that time to sniff, at which point his eyes had widened. "Oh no, this isn't good." Seemingly sensing another kind of threat, the dragon opened his mouth wide, and shot out a blast of magic at the cobra's face. He didn't do that just to attack the cobra, but also as a distraction so the dragon could back away from Sandiramon. As Natsuru jumped back, Sandiramon saw that and made a quick swipe at the dragon. The spear did connect, but Natsuru was lucky that he wasn't actually struck; a mere slash that only resulted in his shirt being torn. "Guys, there's poison on that spear."

Haru and Drake were just as shocked by that revelation, as Natsuru was, but from the sight of the cobra's spear suddenly disappearing, they didn't feel the need to worry anymore. Seeing how relaxed they were, caused Sandiramon to let out a chuckle; "Hehehe, oh, did you think that was my only spear?" Right then and there, Sandiramon produced another spear out from its mouth; of which it used its tail to hold onto again. This time, Sandiramon went for Drake; thrusting its spear repeatedly and rapidly at the lynx. Drake was just lucky that - with his heightened reflexes - he was able to dodge every stab coming his way. While no harm came to the feline, that didn't stop his attire from being damaged, as his jacket and hat were hit from the spear. Just like what it did to Natsuru, Sandiramon used its spear to slash at Drake; a vertical slash, instead of a diagonal slash. Of course, the lynx dodged the attack, and just like the dragon, while the attack didn't touch him, his shirt did get touched. However, unlike Natsuru who only had a sizable tear on his shirt, Drake's shirt was completely sliced in half. Sweat ran down Drake's face from seeing that, as he knew he could've have suffered a worser fate.

Like before, Sandiramon's spear had vanished once again, but the giant cobra didn't look worried about that at all. "It doesn't matter how many times my spear vanishes", it said with an evil sounding tone; "I can just always produce more. Many more." Bringing out another spear from its mouth, Sandiramon decided to attack Haru next. Swinging its weapon at the avian, Haru quickly ducked in time to avoid the attack; although his ponytail had gotten cut off. That of course startled the gryphon as evident by the sweat running down his face. As before, the cobra's weapon vanished, and it was at that point that Haru came to the conclusion that whenever the cobra did a slash attack, its spear would vanish afterwards. With that detail, Haru decided to use that as an advantage against the giant cobra. Just as Sandiramon was getting ready to bring forth another spear, Haru pointed one of his pistols at the snake and fired; shooting out the cobra's right eye.

"GRAHHHHHH", it screamed out in agonizing pain. "DAMN YOU!" Red bits of data came squirting out from its eye socket; looking like blood as a result. Because of the damage done to its right eye, Sandiramon wasn't able to produce another one of its spears; instead choosing to tend to its wound. With the giant snake left distracted, Natsuru, Haru, and Drake decided to make a strategic retweet, and ran off further through the jungle.

The three friends were panting as they continued to run to any form of safety through the jungle. "There should be a cave somewhere for us to hide in", Natsuru said in between pants; "From there, we can plan on how to handle that Sandiramon guy." Because of the dragon talking, Haru and Drake gave him their full attention, but after he'd finished talking, the three weren't quick enough to pay attention to something in front of them. As a result, the three bumped into something; falling on their butts soon afterwards. Looking up, they saw what looked to be a giant, yellow teddy bear with two bandages forming an 'X' shape on its white belly.

"Is that...a giant teddy bear", Drake questioned. He and the other two were left with confusion as to why such a thing was just randomly placed in the jungle. The head of the giant teddy bear suddenly moved to look downwards; alarming the three friends. The three quickly stood back up on their feet, and resumed their fighting positions. After their brief battle with Sandiramon earlier, they weren't hoping to immediately wind up into another one so soon. Despite that, however, the giant teddy bear didn't attack.

"You three look very distressed", it spoke; its voice sounding very feminine. Just from its words, the three seemingly lowered their guard; even more confused by the creature. "That's not good. You three should be happy", it said; "And I just know how to fix that." Natsuru, Haru, and Drake were cautious; wondering just what the teddy bear was getting at. "LOVELY ATTACK!" Upon shouting out those words, a big pink heart appeared out from nowhere, and came over to the three. Because of how sudden the attack was, the three weren't quick enough to dodge it, and ended up getting caught in it as a result. It looked as though they were inside of heart-shaped bubble, which after a while popped, and the three were back to the ground on their knees.

The three friends didn't move; they sat in place on their knees. They seemed different too; they looked happy. They each sported a big smile on their faces, but their happiness didn't seem natural. In fact, they looked as if they were in an hypnotic state. "Now you're all happy", the teddy bear said as a smile appeared on its face; "And I'm happy to have helped you all be free of your distress." With its work done, the giant teddy bear walked off in the other direction; leaving the three to just sit in place.

"I'm so...very happy", Natsuru said.

"I've never been so full of this much happiness", Haru said.

"Who knew that being trapped in this world would be the most happiest thing to us", Drake said.

The three were clearly in some sort of daze; sitting there doing nothing as they reveled in their unnatural happiness. "Hehehe, so this is where you three were." Turning their heads in the direction of where the voice came from, the three noticed a bush rustling. Coming out from it was Sandiramon, and it was clearly angry. Natsuru, Haru, and Drake attempted to get back up on their feet, but the giant cobra was much quicker than them, and caught them by coiling its body around them. "How ironic! That foolish Monzaemon wanted to help you three, but only ended up endangering you all." The cobra proceeded to constrict its prey; squeezing their bodies and crushing their bones. "You three caused me so much trouble. I'm going to take joy in ending your lives."

Sandiramon squeezed the three some more; making it harder for them to breathe. The sound that emanated from the three was a painful groan, and yet their unnatural smiles never went away. Sandiramon couldn't help but snicker at the looks upon their faces; "Your stupid smiles bring me joy, as I squeeze the life out of you three." The cobra squeezed even tighter around the three's bodies; the three starting to look lightheaded. Sandiramon relished in giving its prey a slow end; sniffing them with its tongue as it did so. The snake then licked around its mouth before returning its tongue back inside of it; "A more fitting fate for you three is being my supper." With its one eye, Sandiramon focused its attention on Haru; "I shall start with devouring you first, you meddlesome bird. And I'll be sure to make devouring you be as painful as possible, as payback for what you did to my eye."

Natsuru, Haru, and Drake eventually succumbed to the cobra's constriction and passed out. They weren't dead; Sandiramon made very sure of that, as it wanted to further make the three suffer. The snake opened its mouth wide; slowly closing in on Haru as it was ready to eat the gryphon. However, before Sandiramon could do anything, the bodies of the three were turned into 0s and 1s; which then disappeared just as the snake closed its mouth down around where Haru once was. Realizing that it hadn't swallowed the gryphon, and that Haru - along with the other two - had completely vanished out from its grip, angered the cobra even more. "DAMN IT", Sandiramon shouted as it started lashing out within the jungle; destroying the environment around it. "I don't know what trick you three pulled, but once I eventually find you all again, your fates are sealed."

*********

In what looked to be a laboratory, there was a female panda working on her computer. She wore a white lab coat that was opened, showing that she also wore a green shirt with a message that read "Science Is Mystery. Science Is Love." She also sported a khaki skort, black stockings, purple heels, and glasses that covered her eyes. Other features included her emerald colored eyes, her hair tied in a bun, and what looked to be D-cup boobs. "Ok, I think this should be able to bring them back here safely", she spoke. As she continued to work, what looked to be a teleporter to her right had suddenly came on. Noticing that, she rushed over to it as she crossed her fingers; "Please return. Please return."

In a quick flash of light, the bodies of Natsuru, Haru, and Drake had appeared before the panda; still unconscious due to them practically losing their oxygen. The panda was worried, until she noticed the three had begun coughing as they were waking up. Just seeing them alive and well brought a smile to the panda's face; "Oh thank God, you three are ok. I don't I could live with myself if you three ended up dead, hehe."

Opening his eyes, Natsuru looked around for a bit and then up at the smiling panda. It was then that Natsuru realized that he and the others were back in the lab. "We're...back? How did we get back here?"

"It was all thanks to me and my intellect, hehe", the panda said with such glee. "I've saved you all by bring you back. No need to thank me, as I know I'm such a genius."

Natsuru was annoyed by the panda's high opinion of herself; failing to realize the danger she had put Natsuru and his friends through. "Thank you? Professor, you nearly got us killed with this...this technology of yours. Sending us to another world; inside of your computer, of all things, where we almost got eaten by a giant, armless naga."

"Huh, did you say...another world...inside of my computer?" Hearing what was said, had left the panda stunned; speechless even. But only for a very brief moment, as she had become filled with an extreme sense of joy. "INCREDIBLE! My invention actually sent you three to a whole new world? A world inside of my computer?" Seemingly forgetting about the danger that Natsuru mentioned, the only thing on the panda's mind now was of knowing about the other world. "What kind of world was it? What was it like? What creatures did you see? Were there any demonsters there too?"

There were just too many questions that Natsuru was being bombarded with, that it felt very draining to him; along with his annoyance with the panda's irresponsibility. He knew that whenever she acted this way, there was no stopping her excessive questions, nor her curiosity despite the dangers. She soon stopped asking questions, and started talking more about her invention as she inspected it from every side; talking about how it would serve as a great scientific discovery. Natsuru lowered his head as he let out a sigh; only lifting it back up upon feeling hands placed on both of his shoulders. Looking in both directions and saw that Haru and Drake had gotten up, the two took the dragon with them as they proceeded to walk off.

"Forget her, Natsuru; she'll just end up getting you a headache", Haru said.

"Yeah, what the bird said", Drake agreed. "Now then, let's get out of here, before she uses us as testing subjects again."

And with that, the three men quickly left out from the lab. Leaving the panda by herself, as she continued to babble on about her invention; ever the more amazed about what she created, and what else she could possibly do with such a thing.

END!
