#2 of The story of Saythe

I decided to continue it.. No real reason why, just decided to do so.

Darkness consumed me, whatever light around and within me had been swiftly extinguished. The world only supplied me my own demise, a promise that no matter what, I'll find myself at the end of the story. This particular part of the story, I was so close, closer than I ever thought I'd be again.

I still couldn't see anything, but I could feel the air moving around me. I knew I was getting closer to the outside world, closer to the asylum I clawed desperately for. I walked out into the sun, I could feel it beaming down on me, burning itself into my skin. It felt good to be seen by the world, but I couldn't stop to enjoy it.

I imagine I would have been a lot warmer if I hadn't lost so much blood. I was easily anemic at this point and would likely pass out if I took the moment to recover. Of course, it wasn't as though I'd get the chance. In a matter of moments I could hear movement and gunshots. A battle was taking place, and there was no doubt I'd survive it. So bloodied eyes closed and knife ready, I quietly walked forth.

As I stalked forward I could hear yelling, and screaming. After that all the gunfire ceased, and I could finally hear myself think. Not much time for thinking when someone is running at you though. I held still and waited until they got closer, once within range and struck forth grabbing onto them. It took them by surprise, being blind they hadn't expected me to react in such a combative way. In a fraction of a second I gutted them on the spot, I would've sworn I felt their intestine fall out and bump my leg. I heard whimpering, crying, and something that sounded an awful lot like a cat being stepped on. Then if said cat had also had their brains blown out, cause I'm fairly certain that's what the sudden spray of blood onto me was. Then I heard the sliding of a cylinder as a man cleared his throat.

"Remain there, we are sending over medical assistance for your uhh.. Bleeding eye problems." The voice was younger then I would have expected, but it still held the classic authoritarian tone held by most commanders. Which is what I assumed he was as I heard and felt the tell tale thundering of a power armor suit.

I obeyed, not as though I could've done much else, with a revolver leveled at my head with a man in a set of power armor looming over myself. I really hoped he was telling the truth, but the metal impact with my skull and the slightly lesser impact of my body against concrete.
