Kyurex (Pokemon): Part 18 - A trip down Memory Lane
#18 of Kyurex
This isn't the promised chapter 18 ^^ that one is now 19. Its nearly finished, and its much longer than this one and I thought it would be cool to write something unusual again.
The promised chapter is nearly finished, I swear ^^ so don't get mad.
This chapter came out a bit sloppy, mostly because of my feeling of being repetitive while I write, which damaged my detail skill or whatever you call it. ^^ but I hope you enjoy guys....and sorry for taking so long...really sorry...
You might be like "Why this? Give me that promised chapter right now!" Well I thought it out and something in this chapter is neccassary for the future of the series, and I thought It would be cool if I did it now. ^^

"Yo, I'm not going...so chill." Blaze circled around a spot on the ground before settling down, placing his head onto his paws.
„You are going, because it's your turn." May said. Blaze closed his eyes.
„I'm not going, it's scary and stuff, and I'm tired, ask Kyu."
May approached the Houndoom.
„Either you go and get some wood, or I'm going to give you something to be scared about."
„Ah yeah?"
Kyurex lay with his eyes closed, trying to think. The warm weather and the peaceful chirping of bird Pokemon made him relax. The grass was still a bit wet due to the rain that had passed, but didn't seem to be a problem.
He was too familiar with the arguments of his comrades to be bothered by them, yet this time it somehow reminded him of the old days. Where there was nothing but freedom and curiosity, nothing but his village, the forest, and the fields. Nothing but him and his friends. He remembered:
„Kyu! Hurry up already!!"
„Tone it down will you? My mum just fell asleep!"
It was night time. Kyurex quickly made his way out of the cave he lived in happily thinking about what he could do once he was distant from his village. He had nearly lost his patience waiting for his mum to fall asleep, and now he was free at last.
„Your late, as usual."
„I told you already Angel, It might take longer."
Kyurex approached his fellow Eevee friend, Angel.
Angel was a girl, and quite energetic and elegant one at that. She had sparkly, light green eyes, coupled up with a seemingly constant smile. She was thinner than Kyurex, and also a bit smaller. She loved to be mischievous, especially at night, with her friends.
Angel and Kyurex also visited the same class and were both the same age. They shared the same circle of friends and usually would hang out together. Two real companions enjoying their freedom.
Kyurex sat down, with a questioning look.
„So, where to now?" he asked. Angel shook her head, she hated repeating herself over and over again.
„I told you already, we're going out onto the fields." She reminded him.
„Yeah and? What then? Wait..." Kyurex looked around, remembering something. „Where's Flak?"
Angel looked at him with a 'Like you don't know' look.
„Duh...try waking that one up first, then ask where he is." She said. Kyurex understood, and Angel elegantly swinged with her tail.
„Ok let's go already...Because I'm getting tired..."
„Kyu, save me man!!"
Blaze interrupted Kyurexs reminiscing, hiding behind the Umbreon. May didn't bother following the Houndoom, she knew that Kyurex would make him do what she wanted.
„Blaze, go get the damn wood and make the fire already...why do you have to bum around the whole time?"
„Ahh man...whatever..." Blaze left abruptly, not looking back. The Umbreon closed his eyes.
„Kyu...come on...do it for me, please..."
Angel pleaded, looking at the big apple that was hanging from the high tree. Kyurex had no idea how to get it down, but he also didn't want to admit that he couldn't do it.
„Okay...let me think."
He looked at the tree, there was no way to climb up, nothing.
„You sure you want exactly that apple?" he asked, looking at the female Eevee.
She nodded cutely. There was no denial in her sweet eyes.
„Uh..."
Kyurex suddenly heard some rustling sounds, something or someone making its way through the grass.
„Look, I found food May!!" a happy voice could be heard.
Angel moved close to Kyurex, getting a bit frightened. Kyurex observed the strangers that just appeared. It was dark, and also hard to see them because they seemed to be dark types.
A Houndour, followed by a Poochyena. Dark types.
„Blaze forget it, it's not reachable...You'll probably end up breaking something while trying to get it..." the Poochyena remarked. Soon, the strangers noticed the two Eevees. The Houndour stopped, sniffing at Kyurex from a distance.
„Who's this?" he asked curiously, as young as he was. „Ey, I've seen you somewhere!"
Kyurex looked at his companion, and then at Blaze. May also observed.
„Really?" Kyurex asked, surprised. He hadn't ever met a Houndour, maybe seen.
„Yeah! I saw you once at night...eh..."
Kyurex thought. It was true that he had spent some nights before training in the fields, after asking Mr.Blugsdorn about the dark type, and acquiring knowledge about his father.
„Blaze, lets go home already..." the Poochyena said turning around, not seeming to be one who liked to hang out with strangers.
„Wait, I'll quickly use ember and get my damn food, I'm starving and I hate starving!" Blaze opened his mouth.
„You're just going to burn it...besides, Angel here saw the apple first, so I'm the one whos going to get it for her." Kyurex stated seriously, looking at the energetic Houndour.
„Ey! I'm hungry! I get it!" Blaze angrily announced.
„OK..." Kyurex smirked, knowing that the Houndour didn't have the slightest idea on how to get the fruit without damaging it. Blaze circled for some seconds around one spot. His face expressed his inpatience. May sat down, watching her friend going crazy.
He suddenly stopped.
„Ah yeah?" he shouted. „How about you? You can't do it either."
„That's why I'm thinking. Though I must admit it's quite hard with you being around."
May had to smile for herself. It was so true. Blaze always acted like a clown who only bluffed.
The Houndour spat some hot liquid onto the ground.
„You wanna battle bro?"
„You? No." Kyurex replied quietly, not showing any will to battle the dark type creature.
„Well good for you!!"
Blaze was getting mad. He hated it when somebody acted cooler that him. Kyurex turned his concentration back to the apple.
„I...changed my mind, I'm not really hungry Kyu." Angel said, again in her cute voice trying to avoid the whole interaction with the strangers. Kyurex turned his head.
„Really? Can I have it then?"
Angel gave Kyurex an angry look, knowing that it was just him not liking to retreat when there was a challenge. Kyurex smiled back.
„I'll get you that apple ok? You know me..." he charmingly said.
„All too well." Angel finished, not sounding happy about the stated fact.
„Blaze, stop thinking with your stomach and let's go!" May repeated. Blaze looked offended by his friend.
„What? After all he said? No way! My apple!" he looked competitively at Kyurex, who didn't really care.
„Uh..." May was obviously fed up.
Kyurex sniffed. Something was approaching.
„Angel, follow me." He quickly alarmed his friend, nudging her. Angel didn't really understand.
Kyurex quickly vanished behind the big tree, Angel followed.
„What's wrong now?"
„Tss...listen..." Kyurex made sure he wasn't visible from the other side, standing close to the tree. He was lucky it was so big.
Some loud talking could be heard, some kind of animals with low voices grumbling and cheering. Blaze still sat under the apple, not wanting to pay attention.
„Blaze, someones coming!!" May tried to notify the Houndour seeing a team of big dogs, better said Granbulls walking towards the tree.
„Ey, I'm not going home okay? If the others run away then it's not my problem!"
„Uh...Blaze!!"
May gave up, joining Angel and Kyurex behind the tree and leaving Blaze alone. She had no other choice, otherwise she would be noticed.
„Brave friend..." Kyurex remarked, smirking. May looked pissed.
„Good joke..." All three listened, wondering what was going to happen to Blaze.
„Ok, I'll burn the tree, then hope the apple will fall down before it gets ruined? Damn it's so big I've got to eat it man!" He prepared himself to use ember, opening his mouth as wide as he could.
„Ey, you, come over here!" A loud voice could be heard, which was probably meant for Blaze.
„Farewell..." Kyurex sighed. Angel put on her angry look again, starring at Kyurex.
„Don't say stuff like that!"
„What, I'm just saying for now, I didn't say forever..." he grinned.
A gang of Granbulls surrounded Blaze, who was frightened to death as soon as he realized what May had meant before.
"I-I...." he stuttered.
„Look at that big thing there! Lets get it! And lets take this puppy too, he looks digestible!" The Granbulls were joking and laughing while one of them charged, eventually headbutting the tree. It shook, but the fruit still didn't fall. Some branches and dust showered over the three small creatures that were behind the tree, hiding.
„Not over my clean fur! Overpowered beasts...If only I was to evolve." Angel spat, Kyurex knew how much she hated being dirty.
„Your beauty remains." he smiled, because he also knew how much she like compliments.
„Kyuuii!!"
Angel cuddled herself up against Kyurex. May turned away.
„Angel, tone it down will you? It's kind of a „hiding" thing we're doing here, remember?"
She stopped, while May showed disgust on her face.
„Don't tell me like it's my fault, I'm a girl!"
„Of course, got it..." Kyurex just agreed so that they wouldn't be discovered. „Anyway, doesn't it seem silent?"
„You would of noticed that before if you and your girl would've been still." May elegantly remarked, looking at the two Eevees.
Angel felt offended.
„Okay, okay, no arguing-"
*Bam *
Another headbutt.
„Okay, now this is going to far!" Angel wanted to move, but couldn't due to the pressure on her tail. She couldn't stand the dust that fell on her.
„Angel wait!! Stop acting all tough! Please, they're much stronger, bigger and there's more of them so just wait!" Kyurex pleaded with the lowest volume in his voice possible to not reveal their presence, holding Angels tail with his paws. The Eevee sat down.
„Hmmphh..." Her cute eyes resembled anger. „They're so dead!"
The group waited for some minutes, hearing some talk, grumbling and shouting. It was not long and silence reigned again.
„I think it's clear now..." Kyurex whispered. May and Angel both nodded.
The three walked around the big tree, to the place where Blaze had just been.
„Damn it...Blaze is gone..." May shook her head.
„And the apple..." Kyurex joked.
„Kyu!" Angel hated it. „We've got to help the guy, it was your fault for making him feel so competitive!"
„Yeah I know, okay? Let me think..." Kyurex thought. „I guess the only thing we can do is follow the Granbulls."
„And then what? You said it yourself, they're too strong!" Angel angrily remembered Kyurexs words.
„I didn't say fight them! I said follow."
„Hmphh..." Angel looked away. She didn't like being defeated.
*Thud *
„OK! I'm sorry!! I won't joke again!" Kyurex pleaded, knowing Angels strength. Angel pressed Kyurex against the floor, revealing the furiosity in her eyes.
„That's better...." She let him go. Kyurex got up, not getting the reason for the attack, but knowing it to be typical of his friend. May sniffed around.
„If you want to help, then could you two stop goofing around?" she continued searching for Blazes scent „I think I can trail the lot..."
„Then what are we waiting for?"
„I'm back y'all!!" Blaze swung the branches onto one spot that he held in his mouth.
„Yeah...I've got ears." Kyurex opened his eyes, hating the fact that Blaze was back already, which would probably mean that this was the end for his peaceful meditation.
„Do you really think those branches will burn? They look like they're fresh." May said, observing the pile of wood. She seemed to have also been remembering something, sitting quietly a meter away from Kyurex.
„Course they'll burn!! Watch!"
Blaze opened his mouth, letting a raging fire emerge that cover all the branches. The leaves immediately curled up, turning black. The fire didn't last long.
„Hopeless..." May shook her head. Kyurex closed his eyes.
„AH YEAH??"
„I can smell something funny now too..." Angel sniffed. They had come to a hill that seemed to be all silent. Some distant shouting could be heard.
Kyurex looked at May.
„His scent is around, right?" he asked. The Poochyena nodded.
„Yeah, it's coming from there." She pointed at a region of trees. They had crossed quite a distance through the fields and Kyurex could definitely say that he was never here before.
„I hope they don't eat the poor guy..." Angel said. Kyurex grinned.
„No way, Granbulls only look tough, they don't eat meat...do they?" he looked at May, not knowing the answer himself.
„Let's not wait and see, okay?" The Poochyena said.
„Right..." Kyurex agreed.
„You think we can help him?" May asked, worrying. The Eevee thought it would be wise to pump up some courage.
„Girl, we'll do it somehow...Believe me." the Eevee said, full of confidence. May had to be honest, it made her confident too.
„Yeah let's get going already." Angel walked off, seemingly disgusted by the fact that Kyurex was being nice to others.
They approached the region of trees, poking their heads through the bushes surrounding them. They suspected correctly. A cave, lit up by a fire, giving some not so well visible figures shelter.
„There he is..." Kyurex smirked, eyeing the poor dog who was captured in some kind of wooden cage, while the Granbulls seemed to be feasting on their fruits that they had collected. Stones and wood flew around the cave, representing the fun they were having. „He seems to be intact."
Kyurex looked at Angel.
„Man, it's the truth!"
„Well, what do we do now?" May asked. Kyurex thought.
„There is absolutely no possibility to get him out unnoticed..." The Eevee said while observing.
„That means we've got to distract them." Angel said, working on a plan. Kyurex was offended by her quick thinking.
„Yeah I was abo-"
„And you'll distract them, while me and, eh-" Angel wasn't sure, looking at May.
„May..." the Poochyena helped.
„-While me and May fetch him." The Eevee finished.
„OK." Kyurex replied, still feeling himself offended. „Have any Ideas on what I should do?"
Angel smiled.
„Hmm, your the one whos always claiming to be wise, right?" she reminded her friend.
„I.." Kyurex fell silent. „Whatever..." He knew there was no use in arguing in a situation like this.
He thought. The party in the cave seemed to be too loud to be distracted by sound, and the Eevee wasn't strong enough to throw anything either.
„Hmmm..."
Angel and May sat next to him, waiting for the Eevee to come up with a plan.
„Ahhh...Kyuuuiii..." Angel provoked.
„Yeah yeah yeah I know...wait." His mind seemed to circle like a spiral, eventually come to a plan. „I know."
„What?" May asked.
„Just get ready to go inside. I'll handle the distraction part."
Kyurex jumped out of the bushes, slowly approaching the loud cave. The Granbulls were too busy to notice anything from the outside.
„Is he always so confident?" May asked Angel, watching Kyurex walk carefully.
„Don't worry about him, he'll do it." The Eevee smiled.
„OK..."
Kyurex approached, not being sure if his plan would really work. One of the Granbulls noticed as soon as Kyurex was only some meters away.
„Guys, we've got a guest!"
All the Granbulls stopped laughing and cheering, standing up and gradually building one line in front of the seemingly puny creature.
„What do you want?" The biggest in the middle said. He had one broken fang, and was obviously the leader. Kyurex tried to act cool, finding it quite an achievement when 7 hungry dogs with huge fangs starred at him.
„Well, I've got a friend, better said the big brother-"
„Grob, take this pathetic furrball inside, we'll play with him too."
„Sure? Don't you think he's an Eevee and-"
„Who cares!! It's my birthday! Now bring him in!"
Three Granbulls surrounded Kyurex, showing him the way into the cave. The rest went back to surround the fire that they had made somehow despite not being fire types.
„Damn....they're really not talkative." Kyurex whispered to himself, cursing himself for not thinking of something better. Being diplomatic wasn't a good choice in this vicious world.
„Come on little one." One of the Granbulls smirked, walking behind the Eevee. Kyurex was lead inside.
„Nice. Bring the other guy too." The big Granbull bellowed.
One of the behemoths opened the cage where Blaze was sitting.
„Don't eat me man!"
He was eventually thrown beside Kyurex, and both were surrounded.
„So we eat them? Right?" One of the creatures asked with hunger in his voice. Both the Eevee and Houndour looked at each other
„Yeah!! Let's eat them!!" the others cheered.
„We're dead..." Blaze sounded like he was about to cry. He sat down.
„Correction, we're going to be chewed before that." Kyurex also sat down, thinking of another plan that maybe could save their lives. There were too many around...and all of them were focused on him and the Houndour.
Kyurex gulped.
„Flamour..We've found two more." Kyurex hadn't noticed that two of the Granbulls had previously left the Cave.
The two creatures walked in, both holding familiar looking living beings.
„Damn...now we're all food." Kyurex shook his head.
„I'm not hungry anymore..." Blaze wined. Angel and May were also thrown next to them.
„Nice going Kyu." Angel snapped, after shaking her body from all the dust. May also looked at Blaze.
„Nice going Blaze..."
But the Houndour didn't seem to have the will to react. The group silently sat there, hoping to escape somehow. There still wasn't a chance...too crowded. Kyurex was ready to give up.
"Prepare to feast!" The biggest Granbull shouted.
"Yeah!!" The others cheered in joy.
The Granbulls started working. Two guarded the food, better said living food, and the rest started preparing. More wood was thrown into the fire, fruits were gathered to one place.
"Okay. What now?"
"Aren't they like scared that we have parents and friends who might show up?" Angel asked.
"That's what I also thought at first, but I think they're temporally here, I've never seen them before." May answered, not making it easy for anybody. Angel sat down, sighing.
"Which means our parents will probably not know about us being eaten. Superb." Kyurex sighed."At least now I understand my mum when she said it's dangerous to fool around at night."
The Granbulls surrounded the frightened group.
"This is so not the meal I hoped for..." Blaze still wined. May shook her head.
"Even before getting eaten, you think about eating."
"Alright...is everything ready?" The behemoth with the broken fang questionably shouted.
"Yeah." One of the gang said, sticking his tongue out.
"I so don't want to die..." Blaze continued wining.
"Come to think about, I think they're really serious about this..." Kyurex began to feel uneasy, like the rest of his companions.
"Emm...Excuse me Mister." Angel suddenly asked with a frightened voice. Kyurex couldn't think of anything that his friend could say now. What did she want now?
"What?" the beast asked, in a low tone. The rest of his friends fell silent.
"There's seven of you, and four of us, we'll never satisfy all of you...so why eat us?"
The big Granbull chuckled. He understood that Angel thought maybe he would be kind enough to spare them.
"No matter, it's my birthday, I get the dog and the other guy, and my friends can fight over the rest. Haha..." he highly spoke, thinking that his friends had the same opinion. Birthday or not, none of them agreed.
"What? I caught two of them, I get two!!" One of the beasts shouted at the big one, pulsing pure aggression with his voice.
"Its my birthday!!" the big guy shouted back.
"I don't care, I caught two of them, you didn't catch any!!"
"I carried the dog!!" Another joined the argument. Granbulls seemed to be greedy...too greedy, so that even Birthdays didn't count. The hostages were a bit freaked out. Kyurex looked if an escape was possible.
"Don't mess around, I had to guard him!! I waisted my damn time for you!!" And another joined...
Soon there was one big discussion, shouting and growling flew from all corners. Eventually even stones started flying.
"Okay..." May was a bit confused, like her companions. Kyurex felt a chance of escape rising, gradually.
Suddenly a large piece of broken wood hit the big Granbull on his forehead, making him fall backwards onto the fire, almost filling the cave with absolute darkness.
"AAARGHH!!!"
There was a loud roar, and it was still visible how the enraged behemoth jumped onto one of his comrades, trying to bite him. All the Granbulls starting roaring and fighting, nearly stepping onto their little hostages. Kyurex knew it was their last chance to act.
"Quick, lets book before they calm down!!"
The Granbulls kept on fighting breaking everything in the cave and shouting, making it hard to pick a safe path. Blaze didn't care, he ran and surprisingly made it outside, running through the bushes. He stopped, waiting for the others to catch up. His heart pumped.
"Come on ya'll!! I don't wanna die!" he selfishly shouted at them. Angel and May caught up, also panicking a bit.
"Wait...where's Kyu?" Angel asked.
"He was the one who said we should run!" May said.
"Come on!! They'll be here any minute if they find out!!" Blaze rapidly said, continuing to run through the nearest bush. Angel hesitated at first.
"Come on, he can do it!" May said, quoting the Eevees words following the Houndour. Angel eventually also ran after May and Blaze, feeling sad for not being able to staz longer and wait for her friend.
As soon as they felt secure, they stopped to catch their breath, forming a circle. All had a great deal of panic still inside them, and there was still no sign of their companion. The Granbulls didn't seem to be following, because that would be definately loud.
"Kyuuiii...." Angel sighed, looking at the path they had just used. Everything seemed silent, and the Eevee was beginning to believe the worst. May and Blaze looked at each other, not knowing what to say.
"That wasn't really polite, I hoped you would wait for a friend Angel, but oh well...."
"Kyu!!"
*Thud *
"I'm sorry!! I'm sorry! I just had to get something!" Kyurex was literally getting choked by his friend, knowing that he shouldn't of scared her like that. May shook her head.
"Don't you ever scare me like that anymore!!" Angel shouted, while releasing her grip. Kyurex had foreseen this act.
"What did you have to get?" May asked curiously, not being able to imagine for what the Eevee had risked his life for.
"Ehhee.." Kyurex coughed, getting up while being eyed by a mad Angel. "Ehh..this here..." he moved his tail.
Behind his tail was an apple, exactly the same one that was hanging on the tree. It must've fallen out of his mouth when Angel jumped on him.
"I promised you girl...here is your apple." Kyurex smiled. At first Angel was hit with mixed feelings, but eventually she decided not to play the mad girl. Blaze starred at the fruit with pupils bigger than the apple itself.
"Kyuuuiii!" Angel cuddled up against Kyurex. May looked at Blaze.
"Alright, that was one hell of a night, and I'm tired to the bones now..." May said, noticing that it was better to leave the two Eevees alone to their fun. "Thanks a lot...we couldn't of done it without you two..."
"Yeah...I'm sorry for being so stupid back there, I was really hungry....I mean I am really hungry..." Blaze added, being the usual clown he was, but apologizing nevertheless. Kyurex grinned.
"Ah it was nothing...just don't let your stomach do the thinking for you. Anyway, we should hurry up and leave before our parents start worrying. It was nice meeting you guys..."
Kyurex and Angel turned around, but Blaze wasn't finished.
"Wait a sec, whats your name again?" he asked. May turned around again.
"Mine is Angel..."
"Kyurex...And yours?"
"I'm Blaze! And this is May....anyways, hope we meet again!"
Again, again, again. A weird Echo. Kyurexs vision darkened.
"Ehh?" Kyurex opened his eyes, coming slowly to his senses. He felt like he had just been in the past, and was eventually ripped out of it again.
It was dark, and that fact surprised him, but what surprised him more was that both of his team mates were sleeping.
"Did I sleep too?" he asked himself. Whatever the case, Kyurex slowly got up, stretching himself. He had a weird feeling, somehow he had the feeling that everything before was real.
The Umbreon yawned, smiling as he noticed his two friends sleep. It was definitely time to leave.
He shook his head.
"Blaze, get up already. May, wake up."
