A lonely husky finds out that dreaming about beautiful dragons can be just as good as the real thing.

This story is ancient. I don't even remember most of it, and given how much I tend to hate my older work, I'm honestly afraid to go back and check anything. Rather than facing the uncomfortable truth that this is what my writing used to look like, I'm just going to assume it's awful and move on.

If you actually like this story, I'm glad. I really am. I'm happy that I was able to make something that brightens your day in any way. Just ... know that we probably will have to respectfully disagree on it, is all.

Alan awoke with a vague uneasiness. Though his room looked just as it

always had, something about the atmosphere seemed different. He couldn't

quite explain why, but he felt as though someone had been in his room during

the night. Though the surroundings were familiar, gone were the feelings of

security and warmth that are supposed to reside in one's own room. It was a

feeling Alan couldn't define...it was as though the room was the same, yet

different.

He quickly rose and checked the hiding places in his room, the places

where he stashed money and other items of value. He found everything

untouched. He then looked about the rest of the room. He looked at the

pile of clothes on the floor. He looked at the papers on his desk. He

looked everywhere, trying to see anything that was out of place, that didn't

match his recollection of how they were before. Everything seemed to be

exactly the same, giving Alan the impression that either the intruder missed

the valuables and masterfully covered his tracks, or that there was no

intruder.

As he continued to look about the room, his eyes fell upon the small

mirror he had mounted on the wall. He smiled faintly upon seeing his

reflection. He wasn't vain, but as he saw the same Siberian Husky morph

that had been his form for all eighteen years of his life, he gave a small

sigh of relief. Like his room, he looked exactly the same. He took a small

amount of comfort from that.

Since he was slowly starting to feel more at ease, he decided to examine

himself a little more. Mostly to check on how well his body was being toned

by the exercise he had been doing lately, but also because the sight of his

own self was somehow comforting. It was something he could cling to in his

worried, somewhat paranoid state.

Alan was was somewhat lean, and of average build. Dark grey fur covered

most of his body, though the underside of his muzzle, along with his neck,

stomach, and tail, were white. Patches of white also covered his hands and

feet, giving the appearance of white gloves and boots. Alan musingly

referred to his coat as "a perfect contradiction of itself" while in his

more poetic moods, due to its contrasting white and grey.

Alan dressed himself, then decided that he should go shopping that day.

He needed new clothes anyway, and he thought the trip might help him take

his mind off the strange uneasy feeling. After calling his friend Jake and

arranging a trip to the mall with him, he left the house.

·-÷÷-·

"What do you think of this?" Alan said as he excitedly held a pendant

up for Jake to see. The pendant was a small silver likeness of a dragon's

head, with imitation jewels for eyes. Alan initially set out to buy

clothes, but as the two of them walked past the small collection of

miscellaneous jewelry on display, the pendant caught his eye.

"Um...I don't know...it looks cool, I guess. You have a thing for

dragons or something?" Jake replied with feigned disgust. Jake was also a

Husky morph, and had build similar to Alan's. However, his coat was almost

entirely white, rather than the mix of white and grey that Alan had. Alan

and Jake had been friends since early childhood, and Jake knew he could

pretend to attack Alan like that without upsetting him. Alan could also do

the same to him. Both knew that the other never meant it, and that the

verbal play-biting was actually rather fun.

"Well, no, but this one is pretty cool. Or do you have a thing AGAINST

dragons?" Alan countered, as he continued to look at the pendant. He eyed

it with the same fascination as a child with his favorite toy.

"No, dragons are fine, it's just that the idea of guys wearing necklaces

is a little weird." Jake said playfully. "Just kidding, don't worry." he

added with a smirk after Alan shot him a fake evil look.

Alan rolled his eyes and gave a small "Yeah, yeah." He then paid for the

pendant, and happily placed it around his neck as he walked away.

The two of them walked around the mall for a little over two hours,

trying as best they could to not carelessly throw money at everything good

they saw. Alan did overshoot his budget, but not by a lot, and the vast

amount of things he got made it worth it in his opinion. Jake did get some

things, but not as many, and thus was well within the limit of how much he

set out to spend.

Eventually, Alan was in the mood for something to eat after all the

walking around and shopping. Jake wasn't hungry, though, so he proposed

letting Alan eat while he went to window-shop at an electronics store.

After another hour or so, he would return, and meet Alan in the food court

area. Alan agreed to the plan, and left.

·-÷÷-·

The food court area seemed particularly busy that day. Though there were

plenty of tables, all of them were taken. Alan scanned the area after

buying his food, hoping to find any opening, seeing nothing. When his eyes

fell on a solitary table in the far corner of the square, he saw something

he would never forget.

There, sitting by itself, was a large anthro dragon. Alan couldn't tell

the exact height of the dragon, as it was sitting down. However, he could

guess that it was around seven or seven and a half, perhaps eight feet tall.

Its scales were a soft grey, but they were very glossy, making them look

more like a lustrous silver.

As Alan approached the dragon, he started to see the details of its face.

Its head looked very much like Alan's pendant. Its face was drawn out in a

long muzzle, with small nostrils at the tip. It had an external flap of

skin on each side of its head, serving as its ears. Two straight horns

protruded out from behind the ears, ending in small points. Its deep

yellow eyes glowed softly, reminding Alan of the imitation jewels in his

pendant. Its face somehow seemed masculine to Alan, causing him to assume

the dragon was male.

"Um...hello...." Alan said weakly. He was timid enough that when the

dragon didn't move or say anything, Alan thought he hadn't heard him. He

cleared his throat and tried again. "Um...hi...do you mind if I sit here?"

The dragon turned his head and looked at him, his eyes meeting Alan's. "I

hate to impose...." Alan began, as though the dragon was challenging him

with his gaze, though the expression looked more like simple interest in

Alan. "It's just that I couldn't find an empty table anywhere, and...."

"Oh, by all means, do sit down." the dragon responded politely, picking

up when Alan's voice trailed off. "Don't worry, it's no bother at all.

What's your name, young one?"

"Alan...and yours?" he replied. He was eighteen, and hated any comment

that implied he was still a child, especially since his parents made them

frequently. However, for some reason, the way the dragon called him "young

one" didn't seem to bother him as much as he would have expected.

The dragon paused, almost as if he had to think about the question before

deciding on an answer. "You may call me Basil." he said at last. He would

have made a polite bow if he was standing up, but instead he simply slowly

bowed his head. "I love your pendant, by the way."

"Thank you..." Alan said, looking down at the pendant. He realized again

just how much it looked like Basil, then slowly lifted his gaze again.

"It's a pleasure to meet you." he added uneasily, mentally debating whether

he should extend his hand. He had no idea how to handle talking to a

dragon, so he clung to the formalities and polite phrases he was taught to

say as a child.

"The pleasure is mine." Basil replied with a small smile, before finally

slipping away from the formulaic responses. "Tell me, Alan...you seem

rather ill at ease. Do I intimidate you?"

"Oh, no, it's not that...it's just that I...um...haven't really ever seen

a dragon before, you see. I didn't think they even existed...no offense or

anything."

"Worry not, that's understandable." Basil said reassuringly. "We tend to

keep to ourselves, and hardly ever appear on this plane. I just came here

myself out of loneliness."

Alan guessed that the way Basil referred to "this plane" meant that

dragons were etherial beings of some sort. Instead of asking about that,

though, he decided to focus on Basil's being lonely. "I'm so sorry...." he

said sympathetically, working up the courage to put a hand on Basil's

shoulder. "I know what it's like to not have anyone to talk to. I have a

few friends now, but as a kid, I never really fit in anywhere, so I was

alone a lot then. You can talk to me, if you want...."

Basil seemed moved by Alan's words. He smiled and looked at Alan, who

seemed to lose himself in the glow of his eyes. "Why, thank you, young

one...that means a lot to me."

Alan disregarded being called "young one" again, because it didn't really

seem as bad coming from Basil. The two of them continued talking, mostly

about Alan. Basil seemed highly interested in everything about Alan,

including his experiences as a child, his experiences as a young adult, how

his schooling was going, and what he wanted to do with his life. Whatever

Alan could say about himself, Basil wanted to hear. Alan felt somewhat

conceited for going on about himself without hearing about Basil, but Basil

assured him that it didn't matter to him, and that talking about Alan was

far more interesting.

Finally, Alan looked at the time, and realized that Jake would be looking

for him. "I'm sorry...." he said to Basil, "but I have to be going. I'm

supposed to meet a friend about now." He paused, then added "Can we meet

again sometime?" with a warm smile.

Basil looked at Alan and smiled back. "Don't worry. We'll see each

other again. I know it."

Alan stood up, and moments later he heard Jake's voice. "There you are!"

Jake said as he walked up to him. "Where were you, anyway? I've been

looking everywhere!"

"You sound like my mom...." Alan said with a smirk. "Anyway, what do you

mean? I've been right here this whole time."

"Bah. The three times I passed by this table, it was empty." Jake shot

back, making sure to emphasize "three times."

"You're kidding. I've been here this whole time, talking to--.." Alan

suddenly looked at the table, and saw that no one was there. "To...

someone...I guess he left. But anyway, I never went anywhere."

"Whatever. Let's just go, OK?" Jake said with a little snort, while

grabbing Alan as if to make sure he wasn't going to escape again.

·-÷÷-·

Alan didn't return until late that night. After talking with Basil and

meeting up with Jake again, he decided to do some more shopping. He was

completely out of money, but he still walked around the mall and looked at

everything interesting, until Jake got sick of it and dragged him home.

It was fortunate for Alan that his parents were gone. If they had been

there, there would be no end to the lectures on not staying out late, being

more responsible, and the like. His parents meant well, but they were

severely overprotective most of the time. Alan still couldn't believe that

he actually managed to convince them to let him stay home by himself while

they went on their business trip, though he certainly wasn't complaining.

As Alan returned to his room, he dropped his bag of purchases on the

floor, deciding to sort everything out in the morning. He took off his

pendant and put it on his desk, then undressed and tossed his clothes on the

floor. He flopped down into his bed, and before long, settled into a

dream-filled sleep.

·-÷÷-·

In his dream, he was in his room. Everything looked the same...even the

heap of clothing and bag he left on the floor were there. He knew it was a

dream, though. He couldn't explain how he knew that, nor did he know why he

was dreaming of his own room. Still, that was what it was. Somehow, he

could feel it.

He noticed something glowing on his desk. It was small, but extremely

bright. He saw that it was coming from his pendant...it wasn't the pendant

itself that was glowing, though. The light started near the pendant, but as

Alan watched, it slowly drifted through the air, and stopped above the foot

of his bed. Its glow suddenly intensified, forcing Alan to shield his eyes.

The light soon faded, and when Alan could see again, he looked forward.

When he saw Basil, he gasped softly.

It wasn't that Alan was shocked to see Basil in his room...he knew this

was a dream, and thus, that anything could happen. Alan was just stunned by

how beautiful Basil was. His scales seemed glossy in the mall, but now they

were absolutely dazzling. They seemed to catch and absorb the moonlight,

and create a beautiful soft glow. He had no clothing, and Alan's gaze was

instantly drawn to his sheath, and the two luscious balls that gently hung

below it.

"Hello, young one...." Basil said softly, as he slowly sat down on Alan's

bed. "I told you we would see each other again."

"What...what's going on?" Alan stammered, more from distraction from

Basil's appearance than fear.

"As I said, beings of my sort hardly ever appear on your plane. It is

rather diffucult to do, so I decided to bring us here instead."

Alan paused, trying to understand everything. If Basil wasn't of his

plane of existence, then... "who...what are you?"

"It's rather difficult for me to explain...but I am a being that mostly

exists in subconscious and altered realities, such as dreams and visions. I

am very real, though...I just do not generally appear in the standard,

waking world. It drains me to stray from the subconscious realities, and I

generally do not need to anyway."

The last sentence intrigued Alan. "Why is that?"

"Because I can still see the world through the eyes of people as they

dream. It can also give me a glimpse into their lives...in their dreams I

can see their hopes and ambitions, their fears and regrets...though I

usually try not to be so intrusive. At the very worst, I quietly look into

someone in a dream, and then take away the recollection of that dream for

them. However, this time...." he trailed off, as if suddenly at a loss for

what to say next.

"This time...?" Alan asked, interested in Basil's story.

"Well...as I was traversing between dreams, I found yours. You

intrigued me from the very beginning...you are a very beautiful creature,

you know. I wanted to know all about you, but I just did not feel right

eavesdropping on your dreams to find out. I must confess that, for at least

a few times, I did look into you to learn about you, and erased the memory

of the encounter...but the more I learned, the more I was fascinated by you,

and I felt like I just could not keep doing that to such a beautiful

creature...so instead I transcended into the waking world and guided you to

me, so that we could talk...."

With that, Basil moved forward slightly, resting on his hands as he

continued to look directly into Alan's eyes. "I'm so very lonely, young

one...I can see the world this way, but I can't experience it. I want

someone I can talk to...someone I can love. I don't mind bringing this

someone here, as long as I can do more than just look at them...." he

sighed, and looked into Alan's eyes again, this time with a sense of longing

in his gaze, which Alan immediately picked up as he tried to handle the

realization of what Basil wanted with him.

Alan was lonely as well. He had friends, but no one to love...and he did

find Basil beautiful, especially now. He realized that he wanted exactly

what Basil wanted. Instead of words, Alan answered him by slowly moving his

head foward, until their muzzles met in a passionate kiss.

Though they were in a dream world, Alan could feel everything, and murred

slightly as their muzzles opened and their tongues met. Basil was caught

off-guard by the kiss, but eagerly joined in once he recovered. He thrusted

his slightly forked tongue forward, exploring the inside of Alan's muzzle

with it as Alan's tongue brushed against his in response.

Alan slowly moved one of his hands to the back of Basil's head, and

pulled him closer as they continued to kiss. He wanted Basil, and the fact

that Basil wanted him as well greatly fueled his desires.

Alan was quickly growing aroused. He reluctantly broke the kiss, and

started to crawl out from under his covers and toward Basil, embracing him.

He normally slept without clothing, and he became even more aroused as

their naked bodies rubbed against each other. Basil fell backward as Alan

continued to lean into him, until he was lying down with Alan on top of him.

Alan gave Basil another deep kiss, as his hands felt and rubbed the

dragon's chest. Basil wrapped his arms around Alan so he could feel his

back in return. Then, in one swift and playful motion, he rolled over, sat

up, and pressed his foot down on Alan's chest, pinning him. Alan was

surprised, but didn't mind, and giggled slightly. Basil grinned and lowered

his head, licking Alan's muzzle.

Alan wanted to try something. He brought his hands to the foot Basil

placed on his chest. Basil expected him to try and move it, but instead he

started stroking it, tracing along the patterns of its scales. He broght

his head forward and kissed the foot, and then slowly slid his tongue out of

his muzzle, licking it. Basil wasn't quite sure what Alan was doing, but he

enjoyed the feeling of Alan's affections, so he let him continue.

As Alan's tongue slid across the top of Basil's foot, his hands rubbed

and massaged around the heel. He lifted it up slightly, so he could lick at

the underside as well. He found Basil's taste to be almost as exquisite as

his appearance, and he licked more fiercely. Basil purred slightly, growing

increasingly fond of the feeling. Alan then opened his muzzle and pulled

Basil's foot closer, taking one of the three long clawed toes inside.

Careful not to slice himself with Basil's talon, Alan started licking

Basil's toe from inside his muzzle. He massaged the rest of the foot with

his hands while his tongue was busy. He opened his muzzle more, and took

another, and finally all three toes inside his mouth. His tongue bathed

each one, tracing along the shape of each toe, working its way from the tip

of each talon to where the toes met the rest of the foot. He wrapped up his

work by slipping his tongue between Basil's toes, licking their sides with

the same eagerness he licked everything else.

By the time Alan finished, Basil had grown to love the feeling, and

became aroused by Alan's continued ministrations. Alan looked up, and

salivated all over again at the sight of Basil's member starting to slip out

of its sheath. He crawled forward, and placed a hand on Basil's shoulder,

pushing gently to get him to lie down again. His other hand found Basil's

sheath, and gripped the base, lightly squeezing it. Basil murred deeply,

his member continuing to stiffen and grow. Alan grinned and licked a small

bead of precum off its tip, causing Basil to moan and arch his back

slightly. Alan decided to give Basil's cock the same attention he had given

his toes.

Basil moaned again, more loudly this time, as Alan began to swallow his

member, opening his muzzle and lowering it slowly. More precum started to

come forth, and Alan eagerly licked that up as well. He then moved his

tongue lower, dragging along Basil's shaft. Basil moaned, but then put a

hand on Alan's head and held him back before the first signs of his climax

could arrive. "Wait...." he said, panting slightly. Alan looked up at

him confusedly. "I can't go off now, there's something else I want to

do first...." Alan slowly raised his head, releasing Basil's cock, and

looking at him obediently. Basil looked back at him lovingly, and quietly

told him to turn around.

Alan grinned, getting an idea from the command and quickly accepting it.

He did as he was told, turning away from Basil, and held still on all fours

as he raised his tail slightly. Basil murred and grinned. "That's it...."

Alan sighed as he felt the tip of Basil's member prod around his rear,

looking for its target. Finally it lined up with his hole, and as Basil

held Alan's tail with one hand and one of Alan's hips with the other, it

slowly started to sink in. Alan yipped slightly, but relaxed his muscles,

allowing Basil inside, surrendering his body to him.

Lubricated by Alan's saliva and more of Basil's precum, Basil's cock

sank the rest of the way inside. Alan quivered slightly, feeling a warm

fullness which soon spread to the rest of his body. Slowly he felt the

fullness retracting as Basil pulled backward slightly, and then come over

him again as he thrust back in. Basil was slowly developing a rhythm,

thrusting in and out of Alan while being careful not to hurt him.

Basil moaned again, loving the tight warmth surrounding his cock. He

rewarded Alan by reaching down and gripping his own eager member. Alan

moaned, instinctively thrusting into Basil's hand as his own member came

forth from its sheath. He then thrust back against Basil's meat, eager to

be filled. Soon he had his own rhythm, thrusting between Basil's hand and

his cock.

Basil started running his hand along Alan's member, pumping up and down

the shaft. Alan moaned loudly, releasing large amouts of precum from the

sudden pleasure. Basil let it soak into his hand, and then used it as a

lubricant, pumping Alan's shaft even faster and more fiercely. Alan was

overwhelmed by the pleasure, and soon his climax hit, his cock pulsing and

firing several large streams of his cum into the bed below. Eager to bring

about Basil's orgasm as well, Alan flexed his anal muscles, trying to

squeeze and milk Basil's cock as he continued to thrust wildly. The idea

worked, Basil finding himself unable to deal with the added pleasure and

firing his own load deep into Alan, filling his warm insides with his hot

seed.

Completely spent, the two of them collapsed onto the bed. Alan fell into

his own pool of seed, which quickly soaked into his stomach. He found the

sensation oddly pleasant, though nothing compared to the liquid warmth

inside his bowels. Basil rested on top of him, and Alan could feel his

weight and the expanding and contracting of his chest as he breathed. He

loved it all.

"That...was...." Basil started, letting the thought trail off as he was

too spent, and too speechless, to finish. Instead, he brought his hands to

Alan's head, lovingly scritching behind his ears, as he gave the top of his

muzzle a lick. Alan needed no further explanation, the loving gestures

doing more than words ever could. "Thank you...you too..." Alan managed,

as the room around Alan slowly began to fade. It was almost like drifting

off to sleep, though he was already in this dream world. The scene faded

completely, as if the dream was ending.

·-÷÷-·

Alan awoke in his room. He had the feeling that someone had been in

there again, though this time he didn't feel uneasy about it. After all,

now he knew who it was.

He must have just not remembered the previous times...or Basil erased the

meories after the encouters, as he said. Apparently, though, this time

Basil let him keep them, as he could clearly remember everything, right down

to how it all felt.

He wondered, though. Was it real? Did Basil really exist, and did he

bring him to a dream world so they could be with each other? Or did the

dream just come from his own imagination, a product of wishful thinking

after meeting Basil the mall?

He looked at his bed. It looked neat. Except for the fact that he had

been sleeping in it, it looked perfectly made. He ran a hand along his

stomach, and along the surface of the bed. Not a trace of his cum could be

found anywhere, nor could he feel any of Basil's inside him. Though he

could clearly remember every detail of that dream, he wondered if maybe it

wasn't real after all. He was reassured, though, when he looked on his

desk, and saw the same glow coming from his pendant. As soon as he looked

at it, it faded, but not before Basil's voice registered in his mind.

"I am with you always, young one...."
