Black blanketed the sky and not a single star shone. Even the moon hid away as the storm grew, wind swirling around, screaming for anyone crazy enough to venture outside.

Dressed in black and white, red tie hanging from his neck Aleser pushed through the wind, head down and his eyes closed, a bunch of the reddest roses he could find clamped tight in his jaw. He had not ventured this far from town to have the storm send him back. Determination shone in his emerald eyes. He would deliver the flowers even if it killed him. Through the wind, the rain, the hail the storm he made his way towards the land that made his heart bounce, the land where the feathered one stood proud in his garden. If he were to fly he would have arrived hours ago but the wind was too strong for him to endure. He would travel all night. And he did.

The eastern dragon's talons clicked against the wood as he made his way up onto the deck of the gryphon's little hut. There he sat as the sun rose into the sky, chest puffed proudly and flowers held firm in his jaw. By this time the storm had passed. Or perhaps it hadn't even got this far, Aleser had seen little to no damage around in the dim light as he awaited the gryphon. As the sun rose higher in the sky he adjusted his mane then walked over to examine himself in the mirror. His heart skipped a beat and the fur along his back raised. Dust from the storm coated the white underlayer of his jacket while his overlayer was coated in a layer of dry mud. His eyes teared up a little as he noticed the flowers in his mouth; destroyed. And he had come all this way-- for nothing? Dàire would wake up any second and he was an utter mess. He drew in a few deep breaths, trying to calm his racing heart as a tear shed itself from his eye. He was meant to be able to control the weather and if he had been able to-- if he hadn't skipped lessons, maybe today wouldn't have been ruined. He could have sailed on those winds instead of struggling against them. Another breath his ears drooped and tears slowly began to roll down his cheeks.

"Aleser," came a voice from behind him. He didn't turn, rushing to wipe his tears away and correct his shaky breath.

After a few long moments, he spoke. "Y-yeah?"

"Are you alright? You look..." the gryphon sighed. "Would you like to come inside?"

"I-I would like that... thank you, Dàire."

The gryphon nodded his head, eyeing the flowers and suit then flicking his wing, gesturing for him to follow as he returned to his home. Aleser followed him, ducking through the door frame and heading inside.

Dàire laid down on a mat, making himself comfortable as he settled himself down on his paws and with his tail, he pat the spot beside him gently.

Head down a little and cheeks flushing lightly he laid down beside him, his tail brushing his lightly.

The gryphon shuffled in embarrassment. "So uh, what brought you here?"

"I just... I wanted to see you again... that's all really..." he admitted.

"I... I wanted to see you again too... it's nice to have you around..."

What did he mean by that? Does he enjoy my company too? He jumped slightly, feeling a soft paw slide over his own and he was taken back for a moment as he very slowly turned to the other male, blush clearly visible under the blue of his fur. He locked eyes with the gryphon and heart beating fast in his chest he gently touched the leather-softness of his nose to the gryphon's beak, nuzzling him softly before pulling back. The gryphon wasn't satisfied and leaned forward to brush his cheek against the eastern dragons, blushing brightly as his arms wrapped around Aleser's own.

The drake gently pulled him close and together they laid, resting in each other's embrace as purrs rolled from the back of each of their throats. Was this the start of something beautiful? A male dragon and a male gryphon? In love? It was meant to be? Aleser knew it was and deep down in Dàire's heart, he knew it as well.
