I turned from the self as I heard the electric doors slide open. My friend, Caylah walked over to me with a tear streaked face. Her eyes were big, and her hair was soaked from crying.

"I haven't cried over a guy in eight months." She told me. I hurried over to my friend and took her hands in mine.

"What happened, babe?" I asked. Caylah looked at me. She whispered gently that her boyfriend - Will - had dumped her. I didn't know what to say... what could I say? Nothing was going to help ease the pain that she was feeling. I let my brow furrow into a caring frown and opened my arms, offering Caylah a hug. She fell onto my chest, holding my shoulders.

"It's alright, CayCay..." I said, using the nickname that I'd given the girl so many months ago. I let my friend break down in my arms.

"He meant so much to me..." She whispered. "But things just got old... stale." Caylah turned her eyes to me. "He was perfect, but... it just wasn't going to work." I smiled and hugged my friend tight.

"Hey, fuck guys, honey! Who needs boys to have fun anyway?" I asked. Caylah smiled at me, and pulled away from my body. "Let's catch up when I get off work and we can go shopping!" Caylah smiled at me and nodded gently. She stated that she would wait in the car.

Just as I turned back to the shelf that I was labelling, I heard my boss say my name. I turned to face him. There was my boss, with a small boy. The boy smiled at me.

"Cameron, this is July, he's starting here tomorrow." My boss uttered. I smiled back at July. "I'd like it if you could just finish up here and show him around." I nodded gently at my boss and finished all the labelling of that isle. I picked up my small box of items and told July to follow me. I took the boy to the back room and showed him where everything belonged.

I was standing with my back to July, and the boy wasn't saying anything. I didn't hear him move up behind me until I heard his breath in my ear. I stopped what I was doing for just half a moment. I craved him. I wanted him to touch me; and like a wish come true; I felt July's claws brush the back of my paw. I looked over my shoulder and met the boy's gaze.

A smile danced on the boy's perfect lips, and the light of the room reflected in his eyes like stars had been stolen from a midnight sky and placed in the bright colours that were now staring at me. I smiled back and felt July slip his fingers into my relaxed palm. I glanced down at the intertwined hands and closed my thumb around his fingers.

July twisted his red tail around mine like a vine around a stick, and my pink and green fur, mixed with the raspberry of the smaller boy's. July's ears flicked gently and light gleamed on the silver studs. I smiled as my eyes got locked on his. July pushed on my shoulder gently, partly turning me to face him. I felt him raise a paw to my back, and his claws brushed my shirt gently. I could feel his breath on my lips and realised his were brushing mine, every so gently.

I now allowed my eyes to slip closed. I took hold of July's paw. July pulled on my neck, his claws dragging me down gently. My lips were forced to press against his, but the kiss wasn't intimate. I raised my hand and pulled July closer to me. I had one hand just above his tail, and the other on his shoulder. July unwrapped his tail from mine and brushed it against my face.

I allowed my hand to move from July's shoulders up to the back of his head. I pulled him closer to me, and locked my lips gently between his. July lost all self-control at that moment. He placed a paw on either side of my face, and kissed me harder, his soft pads against my cheeks. I wrapped my arms around his back, and tried to control myself. July pulled away.

"I totally just remembered where we are..." He whispered. I couldn't help but laugh. July asked to see me after work. I smiled and kissed him gently and quickly, though a simple sure would have sufficed.
