So...Life Sucks: Chapter 1

Forever Mellt:

I grabbed my flares and headed out. My purple scales shivered in the snow. I had my tent and two days of food, even though tonight was my only night in the cold, unforgivable waste.

I made a promise that I would find out how life one was in this cold nocturne. My feet crushed the tightly packed ice as I headed away from my cozy log-cabin into the cold. My scalie roommate was sound asleep when I left, probably going to wonder where I was in the morning.

After two hours of walking I decided this is where I would camp for the night. My bag dropped on the ground, and I emptied its contents. After a few minutes of fumbling in the dark I had my tent up, my food and blankets inside, and I was just about to zip up my tent, when I heard a voice.

"Let me in please!!" a screaming wolf yelled, while running. His bloodied fur stood in patches. HE had slice wounds, and bite marks. "Hurry, it's coming!. He'll kill you to!" At this I stiffened. I always heard about these woods being haunted, but never believed it. I unzipped the tent and yelled "Hurry come in!"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes! Get the hell in here!" The fur threw himself into the tent and yelled, "Hurry! Close the it!" I complied. "What;s going on?"

"The shadow-mare!" My heart skipped a beat. The shadow-mare, a haunting creature who stalked the woods. He couldn't enter an enclosed space without being let in, so was his masters only design flaw. The spirit would find wandering travelers, and torture and eat them. It enjoyed the cold snow, as the blood left behind marks its territory. "How did you escape?"

"It was distracted with my friends... thanks for letting me in"

"My pleasure" I smiled as this wolf was my only comfort. He looked at me, and growled... my body was never found.
