Unrequited
#3 of Rhyming and other stuff
A poem about abandonment
There is a moment
In which time may go
First it moves so fast
And then it moves so slow
An experience of life
A pain, a knife in the heart
A wound so deep
When your love is torn apart
When you want to fight
For someone so dear
But you know it's a lonely battle
Leaving you teared and in fear
The feeling and experience
When you love someone
That leaves you for another
And you can no longer become one
It doesn't matter anymore
Any words you may say
When you are easily replaced
All the world becomes gray
You may ask yourself
How can someone turn
After living, loving together so long
Just leaving you to crash and burn
The other side of the bed
As empty as you heart
Do you grasp at shadows
Trying to reach your missing part
But slowly you may realize
He will never be there again
Shadows haunt you around your home
Your energy still going down the drain
Yes, he will never be
And you will never be
That past experience, unrequited
Is it a pain that will stay forever?
Maybe you will jump away
Maybe then you are free
