Well here's the next chapter. I feel super late in updating this story and i sorta have mixed feelings about this chapter. The reason behind this is because I was working on another story at the same time I'm writing this one and I'm really getting into it. The only reason I haven't posted it is because I cannot come up with a title for it. I tried to think of some, but they just didn't fit the story. *sigh* So if anyone reading this wants to, can you help with this? I'd really appreciate it. It'll be located in my journal. So back to this, comments are always appreciated and encouraged. I want to become better so don't worry about hurting my feelings. I think I'm missing a tag or two...

Eevee & Kai (sometime later)

"Eevee, watch out!" Kai shouted.

A large rock was flying towards Eevee's head. He jumped to the side and was able to avoid a serious injury. Kai ran up to one of the many geodude they were fighting and delivered a swift kick to its face. Despite the bit of pain in his foot, he was able to send the rock type flying into a nearby tree, knocking it out. He quickly set his sights on another one to his right, who was readying a rock to throw at him. Eevee used quick attack to build momentum and used iron tail to send the geodude through a couple trees knocking it out. Eevee and Kai stood back to back as the geodude surrounded them.

"Jeez, what's with them? We already apologized." Kai said breathing a little heavy.

"Well we did sort of beat up their leader." Eevee replied sounding just as tired as he was.

After they split up, Kai, Eevee, and Mia ended up meeting the treeko again. They exchanged some words, Mia threw a water pulse at him and he countered with bullet seed. They traded blows for a while, till a passing graveler was caught in the cross fire and was knocked out. When they checked to see if it was okay, a large number of enraged geodude showed up and attacked them. The treeko and Mia disappeared in the chaos, leaving Kai and Eevee to fend for themselves. They've been fighting them off for nearly thirty minutes.

The geodude got steadily closer to them, blocking all escape routes. Eevee sensed that something was up.

"Kai, don't you think they're getting a little too close?" Kai noticed the sudden change in their behavior too.

"Yeah, it's like they're getting ready for something." Kai replied. The geodude began stacking on top of each other in a brick wall pattern. There were only enough of the rock pokémon that they were about four feet high. Kai sensed what they were planning to do next.

"We have to get out here, now! They're going to self destruct!" He shouted.

"Come on, let's jump over them." Eevee said. As soon as they tried to jump, a few geodude threw some rocks at them to keep them in place. They frantically looked around for a way out, but couldn't find one.One by one the geodude started building energy in their bodies and glowing white.

"Ah, jeez!" Kai grabbed Eevee by his furry collar and lifted him over his head.

"W-whoa! What are you doing?!" Eevee exclaimed. Kai didn't answer him. He lifted his foot up and stomped on the ground with all his might. The ground beneath them shook violently. The towering geodude started to sway, unable to keep themselves steady, and soon fell over. The ones that fell inside the circle were quickly dealt with by Kai's swift and powerful kicks. After all the geodude fell, Kai, with Eevee still in his paws, leaped into into the nearest tree to escape the explosion of the few determined rocks that still wanted revenge for their fallen leader. After the explosions died down, Kai jumped down from the tree and set Eevee back down.

"What was that?" Eevee asked, clearly amazed at what the blue puppy did.

"What was what?" Kai asked.

"That thing you did with your foot!"

"Oh, that's just something I learned from my dad. He called it Earthquake." Kai explained.

"You mean you could do that this entire time we've been fighting, and you waited until now to use it?"

"I, uh... Well..." he trailed off. Kai felt his face become hot with embarrassment. Truth is, he forgot that he could use Earthquake since he was told to use it in emergency situations only. Eevee sighed.

"Well whatever. As long as we're alive, I guess it doesn't matter." Kai smiled. "But you know," Eevee continued. "You did look pretty cool when you pulled that amazing move out your ass to save the day. I'll have to even the score and save you from something with cool move of my own." he said with a grin.

"I'll be waiting a long time before that happens." Kai joked.

"You little smart-ass. Just for that, I'm not gonna save you from certain doom." They both laughed. "Anyway, we better hurry and get outta here. I'm pretty sure the others are waiting." With the help of Kai's sharp nose, they began their journey to their campsite.

"Kai?"

"Yeah?"

"Don't tell Mia I said ass in front of you. She'll kill me if she finds out." Kai laughed.

"Okay, I won't tell."

Eevee and Kai traveled through the forest for a while before their destination came into view. They also saw that Perry and the twins, Tammy and Kato, were already waiting for them.

Perry & the twins.

"Are you sure we're going the right way?" Tammy asked.

"Yeah, I think we've past that tree like, five times already." Kato added.

"Of course we're going the right way. We just... need to keep heading toward the mountain and we'll be there in no time." Perry said with uncertainty. Truth is, they've gotten themselves lost and have been wandering around the unfamiliar territory for a good while.

"That's what you said last time and I don't even see the mountain anymore." Kato whined, obviously getting annoyed with Perry's lack of sense of direction.

"That's because you not looking hard enough." Perry said defensively.

"You said that last time too! I've been trying to find the mountain for the longest and you keep saying I'm not looking hard enough!"

"Kato, I'm sure he's trying his best to get us back, so stop yelling at him." Tammy pleaded.

Kato let out a low growl and went silent. Although Perry was thankful Tammy spoke up for him, he was having serious doubts as to whether he could lead them back to camp. They wandered around for a while until they came across an oran berry bush.

"Let's take a break guys. I'm getting a little hungry." Perry lied. He figured they might as well take a break so he can have some time to rethink the route they're on. They went over to the bush and picked a couple berries before sitting down.

Things were quiet for a while between the trio. Kato was still a little upset at Perry to talk to him, Perry wasn't sure if the next direction he took them would be the right way, and Tammy was just enjoying the rest of all their walking. More time went by and Perry figured that now was a good time to start moving. He finally got an idea on how to find their way back to camp.

"Okay you two, let's get going." Tammy and Kato got up at the same and followed Perry into more forest.

They walked for what seemed like forever to kato, until he realized they were taking fewer turns than they were before. He also noticed that Perry was sniffing around a lot as they were walking and seemed more sure of where he was going. Before he knew it, he was seeing familiar sights of the forest they had past when they were following Kai earlier into town. Tammy noticed Kato seemed more relaxed than he had been earlier. Kato saw her looking at him and she gave him the "I told you so" look. Eventually, after going through some bushes, they found their way back to the campsite.

"I don't believe it. We made it; and before anyone else too!" Kato said.

"I told you he'll get us back." Tammy taunted.

"Yeah, I guess you did. Sorry I got mad at you earlier Perry. I just didn't like the fact we were going in circles not getting anywhere." Kato said apologetically.

"It's okay. In all honesty, I had no idea where I was going anyway. I figured that I'd guess my next move and hope for the best. It's a miracle we even made it back." Perry said with a nervous laugh.

"Wait, what?! But you-"

"Hey, look! It's Eevee and Kai!" Tammy exclaimed as she ran towards them. Kato and Perry turned around and saw Eevee and Kai walking slowly towards the campsite. Then, completely out of nowhere, Nina jumps out of the bushes, tackles Eevee to the ground, and growls at him.

Nina

"Leave me alone already old man!" Nina shouted running as fast as she could.

"You and your friends ain't takin' anything from my store again!" The old man shouted as he, surprisingly, kept up with the speedy fire fox.

Nina was chased for several minutes almost completely non-stop and didn't show any signs of letting up. There were moments when she thought she lost him when she would make some quick turns, but he would find her seconds later. She was getting very tired of all this running she was doing and fatigue was taking over her body. Her lungs burned with each breath she took in, her legs were aching and she was slowly losing control of them. She turned her head and spat little balls of fire at his feet. He was startled a bit, but he kept going. She jumped over a bush, zigzagged through a few trees and made some sharp, sudden turns. Hoping she lost him this time, she turned around and freaked out when she saw the old man even closer than what he was before.

"Argh, what's it gonna take for him to stop?!" Nina screamed in frustration. "This... is... so... stupid!!!"

She ran through another bush and bumped headfirst into something yellow and black. She fell back on her rump and didn't even bother to try to get up due to how exhausted she was. When she looked to see what she bumped into, there was a set of large, black jaws with a yellow circle on it looking at her. It opened its' mouth and revealed its sharp teeth to her. Nina was scared out of her mind. Of all things that could happen to her now, she was going to be someone's lunch. She closed her eyes and braced herself for the jaws to close in around her.

"Are you alright?" someone said. Nina opened her eyes and saw a pair of big red eyes staring right back at her. A closer look revealed that the thing looking at her was a mawile.

"Huh, what?" She asked confused.

"I asked if you were okay." The mawile replied. Judging from the mawile's voice, it was a female. Before she could respond, the old man that was chasing her caught up to her. He peered over some bushes and saw Nina and the mawile.

"So, you got even more of your friends to help you? Well I ain't gonna let no pesky thieves steal anything from me ever again!" he shouted.

Nina quickly turned around and saw the old man raised the broom he was carrying over his head, ready to strike. Seeing as how tired she was, she couldn't do much but brace herself for the hit. The old man brought the broom down with all his might to hit the little fox, but was stopped by the massive jaws of the mawile. The mawile growled and glared at him. She then, quite easily, snapped the broomstick in half. The old man, now shaking in his boots holding a stub of a broomstick, looked in fear as the mawile used the massive set of jaws on her head to intimidate him.

"Y-you're gonna p-pay for this!" he stammered just before he ran away.

Now that the threat was gone, the mawile relaxed a bit. She turned to Nina and saw that she was passed out on the ground. 'Poor dear must be tired.' she thought. Mawile carefully picked up the sleeping fox in her jaws and carried her to a nearby cave.

*****8*****

Nina awoke in a daze sometime later in an unfamiliar setting. She looked around and saw that she was in a cave. She wondered how she got to be where she was now. Last thing she remembers is the old man getting ready to hit her.

"Oh, you're awake. I almost thought my remedy wasn't working." a vaguely familiar voice said. It was the mawile she had bumped into. The mawile approached Nina and set down a small bowl of green liquid.

"Where am I?" Nina asked.

"You're in my home. I brought you here after you passed and I've been giving you a home remedy for fatigue while you were sleeping. You should be okay now." she replied.

Nina got up and was relieved her legs didn't feel like they were made of ditto. "Um, thank you, uh..."

"You can call me Ruby."

"Okay. Thank you Ruby." Nina looked down at the bowl in front of her. "What's this stuff?"

"It's the home remedy I told you about. Try it. It tastes really good." Ruby said with a smile.

Nina bent down and sniffed at it before tasting it. Her eyes went wide at the many different flavors that exploded in her mouth. It was sweet, sour, tangy, bitter, and a little bit spicy at the same. It was the tastiest thing she's ever had. She greedily lapped up the green mix until there was none left. Even then, she licked the little bowl clean.

"I see you really like it." Ruby said with a giggle. "I can make more if you want some." Nina looked at her eagerly.

"Really? I'm not being a bother am I?"

"Not at all. You're a growing girl after all. You need your strength."

Ruby went toward the entrance of her cave and began making more of her fatigue curing soup. Not long after she finished the second batch, there was someone at the cave's entrance.

"Ruby, I'm back! What's for dinner?" Another mawile came into their view.

"Gnash!" Ruby said excitedly. She ran up to the second mawile and embraced him in a hug.

"That's one way to say hello. I think I'll skip dinner and go straight for dessert." He said with a playful grin. He began kissing her and feeling over her small yellow body. Ruby was giggling from his touches, then she remembered that Nina was still there.

"Oh wait, stop. We can't do this now. We have a young guest with us."

Gnash stopped his touches and looked past Ruby to see Nina looking away from them with a huge blush on her face that was barely visible due to her fur. "Oh, uh... sorry about that." he said breaking away from Ruby.

"So, is she leaving soon; cuz I want you so bad right now." he joked

"Gnash!" Ruby exclaimed as she playfully elbowed him. "Nina, this is my wonderful mate Gnash."

"H-hello. I-it's nice to meet you." she stammered, obviously still feeling awkward about his earlier actions. Gnash went over to Nina and patted her head.

"Don't be shy! I don't bite...much." He laughed at his own joke. This lessened the awkward feeling in Nina and she laughed a little. "There you go! A pretty smile on a pretty girl. Looks like I still got it babe."

Ruby came up on his side and wrapped an arm around his waist. "Hopefully she'll be the only other girl you say that to. You know how jealous I get."

"Yeah, I know. So, what's a cute girl like you doing here anyway? Did you get lost or something?"

"Not really. Some old guy was chasing me and my frie- snap! Nina jumped up as she remembered that she was supposed to meet the others back at camp. "Um, I'm sorry. I have to get back to my friends! Can you tell me where I am?" She asked in a hurried tone.

"Mmm... you mean you're with that bunch that came out the mountain last night?" Ruby asked.

"Yes. Can you take me to the entrance? I can find them if I can just get to there."

The two mawiles looked at each other then back at her.

"Of course we'll help you find you friends! There's nothing in this world greater than the power of friendship!" Gnash shouted excitedly. *Does action pose where he's on one knee and his arms are spread out in a V-shape with a cool, confident grin.* Ruby let out a sigh.

"Okay, Captain friendship. I'll take her to where she needs to go. You stay here and keep things from falling apart, since you just got home."

"Fair enough. I'm getting hungry anyway. I'll see you later then." They shared a kiss and Nina followed Ruby to her destination.

It only took a couple minutes for them to reach the entrance where Nina was walking with her friends, since the mawile couple happened to live in one of the many caverns that ran alongside the mountain face. They said their goodbyes and parted ways. Nina, now sure of where she going reached the campsite within a few minutes to see Kai, Eevee, Perry, the twins returning as well. She was happy to see them at first, but then she remembered that Eevee forgot to include her in the escape plan from the old man. Her pace quickened from a jog to a full run. Kai sensed something approaching them. Before he could warn them, Nina came bursting through the bushes and tackled Eevee to the ground. She had him pinned on his back and growled at him. He blinked a couple times in confusion as to what was going on.

"W-what's wrong with you?" he asked.

"You forgot about me, that's what! That old man was chasing me until I passed out from exhaustion!" she shouted. "I was lucky to have bumped into a nice mawile who saved me from getting hit and took me into her home to nurse me back to health. She was nice enough to show me where we came out the mountain and I found my way back here."

Eevee was stunned. He couldn't believe he forgot about Nina. She could have been seriously injured and he would only have himself to blame for that. There was no way he could forgive himself if that were to happen.

"I'm sorry Nina. I didn't mean to forget about you, I swear. Can you forgive me for being stupid?"

Nina calmed down a little and thought about how sincere his apology was. "Okay... I'll forgive you this one time. If this happens again, I'll be really angry with you and I have a tendency to hurt those who anger me."

Eevee nodded and was allowed to get back up. He was a little surprised at how different she was when she's angry. Her normally reserved and quiet nature, turned real aggressive and dominate. It was almost like talking to a fully grown ninetails.

'Note to self: Don't piss her off.' he thought.

Nina turned from her angry self to her normal self instantly when she turned to the others to greet them. They heard some rustling in the bushes and Mia came out looking really tired. She had the yellow backpack with her and she threw it next to a tree before going back in the bushes. Everyone looked on wandering what she was doing. Mia came back out dragging something that surprised everyone. The treeko that was with them earlier was frozen solid from his tail up to his waist in ice. His arms were crossed and he didn't seem to be in the best of moods, as shown by the irritation on his face. Mia brought him out just enough so that he was roughly in the middle of their campsite. She collapsed on her belly breathing heavily. Treeko looked down at the tired sea weasel.

"You are gonna defrost me, right?" Mia simply smiled and let her heavy eyelids fall so she could rest.

Mia and the Treeko

Mia and Treeko are in a heated battle over the yellow backpack. They had just been separated from Eevee and Kai during the all out brawl with the geodude. With nether side giving way, they ended up battling their way into dangerous territory without realizing it.

"Drop the bag and won't have to keep kicking your ass!" Mia shouted as she threw a water pulse at the tree lizard.

"Big talk coming from someone on the losing end of this fight." the treeko said as he dodged her attack and ran up close for a pound.

He swung his massive tail around to hit her, but she grabbed it and used the momentum of his swing to throw him into tree. Treeko flipped himself around and bounce off the tree onto the ground.

"You know, if you keep up with the rough treatment, there's a chance you might damage this bag you care so much about." he said swinging the backpack over his head.

Mia shoot a stream of water from her mouth at a surprising speed and knocked it out his paws.

"Looks like I don't have to worry that anymore." she said with a grin. They stared intensely at each other for a while, waiting for the other to make the first move. Neither wanted to admit it, but they were having a bit of fun facing an opponent that could fight on par with them.

Suddenly, there came a growl that broke the silence between them.

"What was that?" Mia asked.

Treeko looked at his surroundings. There were a few broken trees and some with huge claw marks on them. There was an uprooted tree behind him, and the bushes surrounding them looked as if they had been ripped and smashed. His eyes went wide in realization of where they were. Another growl was heard.

"Hey, weasel girl." he whispered.

"What did you call me?" Mia responded.

"Shh! Look, we're in hot water right now. I need you to do exactly what I say so we can come out of this alive." Mia gave him a skeptical look.

"Yeah right. You just want an excuse to make off with our stuff."

"I'm serious! We shouldn't be anywhere near here!" treeko replied, abandoning his whispering. "There's an extremely dangerous garchomp around and he'll kill us if he catches us in his territory."

Mia started to get worried. Another growl sounded, this time a lot louder and closer than before.

"Shit, he's already found us. Quick, get behind my back so we. An see where he's coming from."

Mia complied and met the him in the middle of where they had been standing. They stood back to back, fully alert and listening for any indication of the threatening garchomp getting closer. A minute passed by and there was no sign of it. Most would drop their guard and move on by this point, but they knew better. Every experienced battler knows to never let their guard down when facing an opponent. Even if they knew what it is, the fact that they didn't know where it is was an even scarier thought.

"Do you think it's gone?" Mia asked.

"Not sure, but let's start moving our way outta here. Quietly." Treeko responded.

She nodded and, with treeko leading, they started to move back the way they came. They didn't make it very far before they heard a rustling in the bushes next to them. They jumped in fright and took on a fighting stance, prepared to fight for their lives. What came out of the bushes was something that surprised both of them. A little gibble came forth with the yellow backpack dragging behind it. They let out sighs of relief and laughed slightly at the humor of the situation. Then suddenly, the gibble started to cry very loudly. Mia and the treeko got a bad vibe from this. As if it couldn't get any worse, a tall, powerful garchomp appeared behind them. They felt a chill run up their spines and slowly turned around. The mere sight of the garchomp was enough to send Mia in a temporary state of shock.

"Forget this shit, run!!!" Treeko shouted.

Mia came back to reality and ran after the tree lizard passed the crying gibble. Not wanting all her effort to go to waste, she snatched the pack away from the little shark as she ran by. The garchomp let out a mighty roar and gave chase to the two.

"What do we do now?" Mia asked.

Treeko looked behind him and saw the giant land shark chasing them.

"Run faster!" he said.

They picked up the pace and eventually lost sight of the garchomp. They kept running however, still believing that it was still behind them somewhere. After a while, they came across a large clearing. There were only a couple trees and the grass was tall. They came to stop in front of a large rock that was nearby, breathing heavily.

"Do you think... He's gone?" Mia asked between gasps of needed air.

"I hope so... I don't think... I could handle it... If he showed up again" he replied.

Their moment of rest was short-lived. A large shadow flew by them at an alarming speed. Mia looked up and almost wished she was back with the crazy old guy from earlier. The garchomp that they supposedly lost, was flying through the air and coming straight for them. Treeko realized that Mia was looking up at something and turned to see the garchomp surrounded in a veil of purple energy, flying toward them.

"You've got to be kidding me!" he shouted.

The garchomp dropped in low and flew at them with a giga impact at the ready. They stood their ground and waited for the right moment to dodge. Once it came within ten feet of them, they jumped away in opposite directions. The massive land shark crashed through the large rock, sending pieces of it flying in different directions. It landed a few meters away and let out a mighty roar as it turned to face them.

"I don't think we'll be able to run anymore." Mia said as she dropped the backpack and got ready to fight.

"Your not serious are you?!" treeko shouted in disbelief. "That thing is gonna kill you!"

"Well it's not like he's gonna let us get away." she replied.

"Whatever. I know when I'm beat. Go and die if you want to, but don't drag me into it." the treeko took off back into the forest, leaving her alone with the killer shark.

"Grr, coward."

Garchomp roared and surrounded itself with small sharp rocks, then launched them at Mia. She shot out a stream of water and deflected them. She them covered herself in a veil of water and took off like a rocket straight at the shark. Garchomp raised it's claws over his head and powered up a ball of energy, before releasing small bursts of it at the charging sea weasel. Mia dodged the first shot and it made a powerful explosion when it hit the ground. Now that she was aware of the power of the attack, she swiftly dodged through the rest of the barrage. She made contact with his chest, but only managed to push him back a couple of inches before she was bounced off. She landed on the ground and quickly got up. The garchomp, with surprising speed, launched itself at Mia with it's claw raised and slashed diagonally across her chest and stomach. She cried out in pain as she stumbled backwards. A glance at her wound revealed that she was bleeding. She shot a stream of water at his face. Unfazed by the attack, the garchomp went on the offensive and made several slashes at her. She dodged with difficulty due to both the pain of the wound and the speed of the attacks. She jumped high in the air from it's last slash.

"Didn't think it'd have to use this so soon." she thought.

She charged a bluish white ball if energy on her mouth, then shot an icy cold ray of energy at the garchomp's face. Ice quickly built up and engulfed it's entire head. If the land shark could yell, that's what it would be doing because it was frantically swiping at the ice. Mia took this chance to make her escape. She quickly grabbed the backpack and used aqua jet to escape into the forest.

Mia got a couple minutes in of weaving through the wooded area before the pain of her wound became too great to bear. She stopped and sat down with her back against a tree, out of breath. She glanced down at the cut along her body. She was bleeding quite a bit. Slowly, she opened the backpack in hopes of finding at least an Oran berry to recover some of her strength. As luck would have it, she pulled out a sitrus berry. She silently thanked whoever was watching over her and began to chow down. Almost immediately, she felt the healing effects of the berry. Her breathing returned to normal, her wound was bleeding less, and little scratches on her body were disappearing. About halfway through her meal, she got the idea to squeeze the healing juices of the berry directly on the cut to make it heal faster. She used a light water gun to rinse the blood off and squeezed a bit of the juice on the cut. Unfortunately, it didn't work as well as she hoped. All she succeeded in doing was getting herself sticky. With a sigh, shefinished the rest of the berry and slowly got up to make her way back to her friends. Her journey was slow and painful. As she was wandering, she tried to find another pokemon that knew the area well enough to show her the way to town. If she could get there, she could get back to everyone else. She was about ten minutes into her traveling before she heard the roar of a familiar pokemon.

"Oh, I cannot deal with this right now." she thought.

Luckily, the roar sounded far enough away so that she would have time to hide herself. She continued to walk, in search of a hiding place now, to wherever her feet would take her. The sound of rushing water was heard sometime later and she rushed to the source. There was a river that was running alongside Mt Coronet. She didn't know where it would take her, and it probably isn't a good idea to dive in, but she was willing to do anything to get away from where she was now. She jumped in with the backpack over her head and rode the current to a new destination.

*****8*****

The river made several twists and turns. Mia wasn't really sure which way she was going anymore. She's been riding it for a little while now and was beginning to worry if she would ever find the others again. The current calmed and she ended up in a small pond surrounded by trees and bushes. The sun was nearly blocked out by the branches that hung overhead. She swam to shore, tossed the bag aside, and shook the excess water from her fur. Mia glanced down at her cut and found that it had healed and it was almost invisible.

"Gee, I thought you'd be dead by now."

Mia looked around and nearly blew a fuse when she saw who it was that said that. Leaning up against the tree with a grin on his face was the treeko who had abandoned her to save his own skin.

"How the hell did you get here?!" she shouted.

"Same way you did." he said casually as he walked towards the angry sea weasel. "Of course I had a bit of trouble keeping my head above water since I'm not, you know, a water type. Anyway, I want to know how you managed to escape from that monster without missing an arm or leg."

Mia grinned. "If you really want to know, how about I show you!"

She charged up a water pulse and smashed it at the ground between them, creating a wall of water. The treeko was caught by surprise. He covered his eyes with his arms and braced himself as the water came crashing down on him. This was merely a distraction though. As soon as the water hit him, he felt his lower body get extremely cold really fast. He tried to move, but found that he couldn't move his legs. He uncovered his face and looked down at his now frozen legs and tail.

"W-what did you do?!"

"I put you on ice, genius. That's for leaving me to fend for myself, you coward. If you were there, I wouldn't have gotten as injured as I did!" Mia went to grab her backpack and started to walk off.

"W-wait you're just gonna leave me like this?!" Mia gave him an angry glare.

"You deserve to be left here after what you did." She continued to walk off.

"I'm gonna die if I stay like this! Us grass types really can't survive in the cold! I'm sorry!" he said as he tried to break free from the ice block. Mia wanted to keep going, but her conscious was getting to her.

"Sure, he stole your stuff, got you chased out of town by an angry old guy, got you separated from your friends, left you to fend for your life against a ferocious garchomp without a second look, and expected you to be dead when he saw you again." she thought.

She couldn't think of anything positive about him since she's met him and it was really hard not to think about leaving him. Then again, she did manage to escape with only a cut to show for it; and he did apologize, even if it was out of desperation. After much debating with herself, she decided to help him.

"If I help you out, are you gonna leave us alone for good?"

"Yeah, sure. Whatever you want. Just get me out of this thing!" he begged.

"Look, there's no way I can defrost you right now. We have to get back to the others so Nina can melt it." she explained.

"Can't you just run water over it?"

"I could, but that would take too long. Besides, the only source of water that I see is that pond and me. I don't want waste more energy than I have to on you and you need to be punished for what you've done. I don't want to hear you complaining about how cold, bored, or tired you are. If anything, you're only allowed to speak when you need to relieve yourself on a bush somewhere."

"You can't be serious." treeko responded in disbelief.

"See if I am." Mia replied with an angry glare. Not wanting to test his luck, he nodded in agreement to her terms. "Good."

With that settled, Mia started dragging the half-frozen green lizard through the forest in search of her friends. With the bushes and trees in the way, the journey was far from easy. The forest pokemon that they passed along the way gave them either weird looks or laughed at them. It didn't really bother Mia, but the treeko was embarrassed because he was familiar with some of those pokemon. In time, the tired buizel and lizard found the campsite off in the distance. "Finally." they said together. They finally reunited with the others a short time later. Mia collapsed on the ground exhausted from the days adventure, and treeko was still frozen.
