I've been writing for a long time now, but I've never posted anything online. This is a first and feel free to critique, give feedback and tell me what you think! Thank you for checking out this story, I hope you enjoy it.

The snow leopard's ears flicked along to the beat to the old clock. It was 12am now, the world outside dark, dead and empty. It was quite similar inside the room , but instead of street lamps, all that illuminated the feline was the glowing monitor.

Every second, another line of code was either added, corrected or deleted as minutes ticked by into hours. Then at 3am in the morning, he stopped. His eyes glazed and tired. Yet in the monitors he saw them so clearly, his husband and children trapped begging to be freed.

"You'll be free soon dears, I promise."

The servers were installed after the war, when prisoner population began to outstripped those of citizens. One by one the criminals were thrown in, the government told it's people that the technology was secured. Nothing will happen to those who obey.

Arcturis proved them wrong, kidnapping and robbing people of their consciousness as they saw fit. As a twisted show of revolution to the government.Kiya never truly payed heed to these news until they took them for ransom.

No

The flashbacks always came back, seeing his husband bleeding, yelling and screaming as his mind was ripped from his body. His children, clawing at their captors as the life slid from their eyes and their bodies went limp.

They told him. Get us into the prison servers and you shall have them returned.

He did

They didn't

He stood in the doorway now, watching the last of the code was uploaded. His rifle was strapped to his back, scarred from its days in the war long ago where he swore to never kill again after having his hands coated with dying blood of his friends.

He put on his vest and walked out. Eyes scanning the horizon looking at the grey building where Arcturis played their symphony of victory.

It was a bloodbath that night, songs peppered with gunshot wounds, choruses filled with sickening snaps and the emotions of victory hiding the sounds of revenge.

His love, his pups. All shall be returned to him tonight.
