Koji's life
My name is Koji Haeos. I am just an average human male. No different from anyone else or at least I was... It all started several months ago when I was walking to work one day. I was wearing my favorite blue shirt with black jean and black shoes. As I was walking, I decided to stop at a gas station and grab an egg sandwich like the one I do every morning before. The person working the register was a cougar hybrid. He was just one of many that I have seen. From what I've heard anthro are the end result of a series of government experiments crossing human DNA with that of an animal. They have been given many titles Anthro, Fur, Hybrid and so on. The government created them mainly sold as pets for profit. Eventually they were given the same rights as humans and it was outlawed to own them but that didn't ease the racial tension too much. I have never completely understood why some humans hated them so much.
I have met a few of them and I think they are really nice and they don't deserve all of the crap humans put them through. As I was walking I heard a loud scream. What I saw next was terrified me. There was a house on fire. I saw what looked like two anthro Malamute hybrids. One was a male who was trying to comfort who I believe to be his wife who was crying hysterically.
"Someone please help us! My son is trapped in inside! Please somebody help!" He shouted.
I knew by the time the fire department arrived the house would be burned to the ground completely and anyone in it would be dead. I didn't think I just acted. I ran inside the burning searching looking for the child. I could barely see through the smoke. I searched until I heard a small whimper. It was coming from behind a small door. The smoke was starting to make me dizzy I started have trouble breathing. I had to move quickly if I was to get out alive. I kicked down the door and found what I was looking for curled up in a trembling ball. He was a malamute hybrid. From what I could tell, he was maybe five years old at best and was sacred half to death.
"It's okay I am here to get you out." I said calmly as I reached out hoping he would take my hand.
He nodded and took my hand and we started to run to the exit. I heard a loud crash as the ceiling started to collapse on us. The child froze with fear. As the ceiling started to fall I did the only thing I could think of at the time. I jumped on top of the kid shielding his body with my own. I could feel my body getting cut open by the falling debris and soon I blacked out. When I came to I heard shouting and saw that is was the kid's father. His wife was holding the child who seemed to be unharmed.
"Help me move him." He said to some other hybrids.
The others didn't move. They just stared at me.
"What the hell is wrong you!? Get over here and help!" He shouted bearing his teeth.
Soon his wife and a few others started to help move the debris. I tried to ask if the kid was okay but I couldn't stay awake any more and I blacked out again. When I came to for the second time I was on what I thought hospital bed. My body felt different. I saw someone wearing a white lab coat. She was the same hybrid from before. She walked up to me with a sad look in her eyes.
"Is your son alright?" I asked
"Yes thanks to you...."She said
I tried to get up but she stopped me.
"There is something should know first. You were badly injured and lost a lot of blood. You should have died but you risked your life to save my son so I couldn't let that happen. The only way to save your life was to give you a blood transfusion but your blood type is rare. We didn't have any in stock. Not any human blood any way. We had to use hybrid blood...and it had unforseen side affects. Please understand it was the only way." She said handing me a mirror.
When I reached for the mirror I saw that my hand was covered with white fur. I looked in the mirror and gasped. I wasn't a human anymore.
"I'm a malamute hybrid." I said with a shocked tone.
Actually you are only half malamute. You are also part wolf just like the hybrid who donated the bood. I am so sorry. I understand if you hate us...."she said starting to cry.
I sat up on the bed and put a comforting hand on her shoulder.
"Why would I hate you? You saved my life." I said reassuringly
She smiled after I said that.
"My name is Cree Bell." she said holding out her holding out her hand.
"My name is Koji Haeos." I said as I shook her hand.
After a days of bed rest Cree taught me how to withdraw and draw my claws at will and helped me walk without jamming my tail in doors. She also taught me Hybrid body language such as ear and tail signals. The hardest lesson was learning how to control myself around females in heat. It wasn't easy but I managed to pull it off. As the weeks went by I learned everything I needed to know. Finally the day came when I could go home. As I walked out of the building Cree came up to me with a huge smile on her muzzle.
Come and visit us sometime okay. She said smiling.
"You got it and thanks for everything." I said returning the smile.
After saying good bye I walked home to start my new life.
