The Legend of Drailsin: "Really? This has nothing to do with that game. Doofy."

#1 of Drailsin's Folder of Wonders.

"That folder name is ridiculous too...I'm not that flamboyant...at least not all the time..."

So...here's a thing that someone has failed to share with others, so I've taken it upon myself to sort of take it over. I need to find out where exactly he wants this to go, but I'm sure I can get permission and a good story going with it. Also I've always liked forth wall breaking. I know that title is ridiculous, Drailsin thinks it is too, but that's the fun!

Please, let us know what you think of Drailsin and if you'd like to see more of his shenanigans. :3

Hey....

.......

Hello?

.......

READER! I know you are looking at this. I kicked the author out cause he was going to do some strange prologue about a scene from the future. Instead... I would like to tell you a bit about myself and how I got into my current predicament. For starters.... I'm not your average individual. I'm very highly misunderstood. I am a shadow dragon. Though, I suppose you are wondering what that has to do with anything so I will tell you a bit more.

More accurately I'm a dragon comprised of shadowy darkness. The very essence of the element. I guess I would be called a Lord of Shadow. Can you imagine... living in a place, just one room. A place where that is between realms and realities? If there is ever one thing in common between different worlds and realms... its that they have both light and darkness. More importantly a shadow realm. A realm that connect everything but sits between veils.

That room I mentioned, it is my home. A small place outside of reality that only I can get to. That also means I tend to be confined there. You see travel between realms can be difficult. There are no doors here unless one was previously established. So in other words, a door typically has to be opened from the other side to allow passage from the shadow realm. I know... that sounds like a crappy deal for me but its fine. I am not to terribly a fan of others and prefer my solitude. But it does get lonely...

Now, even though a door can be opened from the other side that isn't inside of the shadow realm, only certain people can. There are stories about those who summon demon's, dark lords and various other beings. Lots of people label them as evil. Well... let me tell you this. Not all of them are. Some of us are just really bored. I have been a villain and a hero. Mostly a supporting character though. Now I'm sure some of you are wondering how I get to all these realms. That is simple. I'm just awesome. I developed a magical process that allows me to "hijack" a summon. No one knows who I am. Now one knows how to summon me so I have to find ways out of my prison so to speak.

I have stated that its fine that I'm stuck here, but it gets boring. I have been here for a VERY long time... depending on where you are anyways. Time doesn't really exist here either so I'm either younger than you or ancient. It all depends.

"Who are you talking to?"

Now don't get me wrong, there are some who would dare call this lonely dragon a bullshitter. They may be right.

"Seriously... who are you talking to?"

Is it time for me to get a new story or create one of my own? Possibly. The universe is full of surprises. Where will my path lead? Maybe to a distant land of fairy tales. Possibly run around using a key as a weapon. Or maybe... just maybe I will be an evil sorcerer bent on taking a palace kingdom from a Saulten and maybe get stopped by some street rat? Who knows...

"D! Will you finally shut up and make your move! I have been listening to your prologue for far to long and its getting out of hand. Do you even remember what you are talking about?" A shadowy creature asked with a bit of annoyance.

Ah.. my fellow reader, I must bid you farewell. I have been stuck here for over a millennia and I haven't been able to get out of this room. My shadow and I were just playing a game of chess and he demands my attention. He is extremely needy sometime.

" I heard that. I will just make your move for you. And for the record... for some it may not have even been a millennia so stop being so dramatic."

" Now now.. don't be hasty. I'm sure someone is reading. You can't deny the possibility."

" Ya ya... just take your turn you damn dragon. Or are you bored already of our game. You know someone will eventually open a door. We just have to be... wait... what are you doing?"

The black and blue anthropomorphic easter dragon soon got this strange bubble from a bag and made it float in the air. " There... now its complete. "

"You must be joking. How does your brain even work?" The shadow said as it looked up. In the air was floating just one word in bold lettering. " How do you even find these things?!"

"Now now.. its just a sign. Its just so people know whats going on." The dragon whispered softly. Trying to be as quiet as possible."

"I think I'm done playing chess... I don't think anyone is going to see-"

The dragon soon got a black rod and smacked the shadow with it and put it under the word.

The word was....

"Prologue"

"I wasn't even done speaking... you sir have lost a chess partner for a while."

"Oh come one! Its only a sign. Its so they know it was properly labeled."

"It goes at the beginning you idiot..."

And so the dragon needed to find a new partner for his games. The shadow just couldn't understand that he had to make something interesting for his readers. He couldn't help but to sigh, a tad bit disappointed that he wouldn't do things with him.

"You know you just switched to third person from First right?"

"....." the dragon went speachless. " FUCK! What ever. Everything is ruined. " he yelled out and began to throw the table. " Everything is for nothing just... start the story already. I will give the author back." He sighed.

Chapter One

It wasn't to long after the chess incident that the dragon began to look in his crystal. It was against a black wall and there were small white dots on the wall. This was how he knew someone was performing a summon, and precisely who it was being summoned. He didn't have to many friends here. Mostly cause he was a shadow lord and most wanted him dead and others were tired of him hijacking summons.

"You are just going to keep doing it arent you?"

" Honestly... I think the author is dead... I wasn't sure what to do."

"Can you try and just let things happen for once? "

"If I did... then there wouldn't be much of a story...."

The dragon soon thought for a moment and a light started to fill his eyes. Excitement was there. The shadow looked horrified as to what may be brewing in the Shadow Lords eyes. The shade began to wave its shadowy paws around in the air as he tried to protest. D could see the shades lips moving but they fell on deaf ears as the dragon turned to the crystal. He put his paws on it and began to smile devilishly. He soon began to whisper something, attempting to seem rather secretive about his approach.

"Seriously? You know that's not how that works. The flare you are trying to put on things is a bit much..."

" Shut up you! Fine. To explain things, I am trying to 'scan' for potential pathways throughout the void. "

"Calling it a void now? Can you not make up your mind on what you want to call things?"

" NO!"

The dragon then returned to his crystal and shivered softly. A soft glow began to emit from the crystal and it pulse out a soft light against the black wall. It was similar to being obsidian. The silver dots began to light up with a soft heu.

"How does this even work exactly. I always forget. You send out a command and it just starts to scan?"

"This is a magical artifact I created. I may not be able to go to realms and such but there is always a way to... 'urge' things along. This helps with that. Sending energy and subliminal messaging, eventually something will pick up on it and be compelled to search for a way to summon something."

As the dragon spoke-

"You are seriously going to narrate everything aren't you?"

"Well of course. It wont be like this all the time. I am doing this to annoy you but I will be writing this story till we find a new author. " The devilishly handsome dragon stated. He could help but to get giddy as he soon saw one of the dots turn a blue ish color. He jumped with excitement and started to pack rather quickly.

"Wait... how did that happen so fast?"

"You know... You already know this answer."

"Well... but our readers don't."

"Oh... I guess you sir are on board?"

"Of course D. You know how it goes. I am kind of you after all. I'm your shadow."

"Shade... I always forget that. You are my shadow and an extension of myself. Thank you for being the best companion. Now for the eager readers.... This room, as well as myself exists out of dimensions. As well as time. A few seconds for me... where ever you would be reading this, could be years for me or just brief seconds. Course... well lets not get into a conversation about time shall we? I don't want to make anyones head spin. " The happy dragon stated. He packed up a book and began to write in everything that has happened thus far and put it in his bag. His trusty companion Shade becoming his shadow once more and he stared at the wall.

"It's time now yes?" Shade would ask a bit impatiently. D just stood there and rose a paw. The blue light immiting a beam to the floor. " Oh! Its sweet little Kal-Tuthose that got summond. Now that's adorable." The dragon chuckled. He was still writing in his book, even as he was doing the motion explaining that he was writing a book and in there began to write about how he was writing in a book about writing in a book.

"D you are looping again." Those words would snap the dragon from his loop and smiled.

" Sorry buddy. But... I'm going to take this. I actually didn't expect this to work so quickly this time. We were in a dry spell there and things were really quiet. Lets make some noise." The dragon stated as he reached a paw to the light and vanished. It was like one of those moments where someone, who's name is impossible to remember due to choice who asked to get beamed up and suddenly he was intercepting the spell to summon Kal. He saw the large demon as he did it, kicking him out of the summoning stream and riding it to his destination.

"Bye Kal! I would say sorry but we both know I would by lying!" He cackled as he took his leave. There was some harsh words that I refuse to write as they would clear make the readers eyes bleed.

"You are having it very difficult to keep to third. Just do first since you killed the author. "

"Hey now... we don't know if he is actually dead. There was a lot of spilt ink but I will admit to nothing I say. Now laddie, lets go obtain our booty aye?" I said in the best pirate imitation possible.

"See... much easier to do this in first so stick with it please."

" By the One Ring... your are correct. I will take this deal!"

"Your brain broke again I see. "

"It did not. I'm just following the white rabbit." I said softly. I remembered a time where I watched a funny little cartoon involving a blond haired girl with a white rabbit. If only people knew the truth. That girl was a bad ass with a butchers knife.

Soon I started coming up to the end of my hijacked journey. Shrouding myself I made my appearance. It wasn't long till I found out who had made a summon. It was only then I realized I had been to hasty. Before me was a ground of what I would assume were young girls sitting around a rock in a meadow.

"Uh Jess... you sure we did it right?" The darker skinned girl said to a blond sitting in the middle.

"Shut it Alex. We did this right and now we have our answer." Jess stated. I got her name rather quickly and I could help but to make a disgusted sound. Out of all the people it had to be some preppy bitch blond. How typical. She must be in the popular kids at school and bullies. I will play the roll of their supposed demon for now.

"Jess, this was a terrible idea, I should never have taken my grandmothers book."

"Alex... stop being a buzz kill. We brought the demon here and now it will give us what we want." The third girl said with a sneer. I happened to looked down at this point and saw the circle the drew to entrap the demon. Normally that would work but I'm not your ordinary individual. Just in case you readers are wondering, I had enchanted my book to auto write with what goes on. I am still writing this story. No one took the mantle yet.

"Amy... you have no idea what this thing can do. We don't even know who or what it is cause it doesn't look like your average demon. "

"Now girls... I think we kept our lord waiting long enough. Now he is going to serve us and give us the life we deserve. "

"No... I don't think so. Yer kind of a bitch. " I said softly as I formed a bit of a solid shadowy form. Just to make myself have a shape. " So please... leave Alex alone and go play with your dolls. She and I have much to discuss."

"You forget demon, that circle binds you. And since I'm the one who said the words you are bound to me and do my will. I may not have had Alex's grandma's book but we are a coven and I assure you i'm not-" her voice had stopped. Probably because listening to her voice was starting to make my ears bleed. So I took it. No.. literally took her voice.

"Now I will nickname you Ariel. But instead of getting legs instead of a fin, your going to live. Now leave. I'm done with useless wenches such as yourself and take your sister Amy with you."

"How did-" She didn't get the chance to finish. This was getting old and fast. There have been to many times this has happened and I wanted to skip to the better parts. I turned her into a frog. This stiffled a giggle from Alex and Jess quickly picked up her sister and ran off sobbing. At least I think she was sobbing. Hey, reader... have you ever wondered if someone mute cried silently? Well it appears they do when you magically steal their voice. Its really funny and if you get the chance I this you should try it.

"D... what if the readers make fun of mute people? That is an actual thing you know. "

"What? Oh! Ya you are right. I forgot. Mute people... don't let yourself get picked on. Actions speak louder than words so punch them square in the face!"

"Um... who are you talking to?" Alex asked softly. She hadn't moved at all and looked a lot less scared. Confusion was probably the proper way to describe it. People can't hear Shade unless he or I make it so. So it really looks like I'm talking to myself. Wait... what if I am and he has been my imagination this whole time?

"Seriously... are you a demon or not?" Alex had asked. Snapping the shape back to his focus. "No demon I have read about can just up and disobey a contract..."

" Oh well you see I'm not really the demon you intended to summon. Nor am I a demon really... At least I don't think I am. " I chuckled softly and began to take my true form. " Name's D. It's a pleasure to meet an actual witch for once. Normally I run into people like Jess. Just craving power but being an idiot about it. We all know you have to get your spell casting up to par before you summon. Geeze.... "

"Well I am Alex. I'm a witch but my mother doesn't know. " And then it clicked. I was sure of it now. She was in fact in school still. I placed a paw on my face and started walked around. Being just a bit irritated.

"I knew it! I should have known if Kal was getting summoned it would be with inexperienced children. I'm such an idiot! Listen... undo your summon and send me back."

" I uh... don't know how.... But I'm sure my grandma does. I can take you to go see her." Alex said softly. The look of confusion on her face plain as day. I can still remember it when she saw me writing everything down in my book. I soon stopped, looking up into the sky lost in thought and then it hit me. I have two people who can help with this.

"Shade take over for me please?" I asked softly, handing the book to my shadow. The girl looked even more confused. A summoned being just looking down, holding a book to his shadow that didn't seem to move. She jumped a bit. Breaking the dragon's concentration. The shadow reached up to grab the book and soon stood next to the dragon.

"You got that right?"

" Yup, even that part you just said."

"Good... now Alex... I appreciate this but alas its time for us to part ways. Please take care of what you summon next time. Things may not be as dashingly handsome, charming and all around pleasant to talk to. " I said softly. I did a heroic pose and moon light seemed to just bask onto my form. Alex looked like she just didn't know what to say and narrowed her eyes slowly.

" Now... you aren't like.... Going to murder a bunch of people are you? " she asked curiously. She seemed rather suspicious and I couldn't really blame her but there was only one answer that I had for such questions.

"Now dear... be a good girl and leave. If the situation calls for it... I might. But I'm not going to actively do so with no reason. It's a waste of effort. " I chuckled softly as I soon vanished into thin air. Being whisked away be the wind as it were. I left her there. Looking concerned about everything. It was interesting really, I was half expecting her to start crying but instead... she just left. Not even saying a word.

Over the course of a few hours, or what seemed as such, Shade and I eventually came to a small town. It seemed this was a rather modern world? I couldn't help but to question myself. With my situation, anything could be modern. I was grateful that Shade knew what was going on in my head else this story would have a lot of silent moments and not a lot of writing.

" Do you smell that? " I asked shade curiously. " That is the smell of exhaust. Its rather disgusting. "

"Well you did just come from a place with no chemicals in the air unless you were potion making. "

"True... but they could at least freshen this place up a bit. " I said with a sigh. Looking at myself it soon dawned on me that I need a disguise. I wasn't sure if people here would take kindly to a creature looking like myself. It was time for a change. I decided to become human. I was wearing a black coat that flowed behind me a bit and black pants and, just because I wanted to, I changed myself to an albino. White skinned and hair with redish pink eyes.

"You just have to stand out don't you?" Shade asked curiously.

"Well things wouldn't be interesting if I didn't. I like catching the eyes. Feeling them take in my luxurious form and marvel at a wondrous creature!" I yelled out to the heavens. It was then I found myself a place of residence. It was vacant, broken down and the perfect place to set up an antique shop. "I will turn this into Drailsin's Antiquities."

"I don't think it's wise to use your real name in this place. Who knows what kind of mystical knowledge people have here. "

"A very wise and fair point. From now on... my name will be Salvis in this plane. You know... the usual. " I said softly. I then started to feel a chill travel up from my toes and made me shiver. " Whoa... I feel like a chair is going to break this window and I'm going to get impaled with a metal spike by some strange undead woman. " I said softly. The image was quite clear and vivid. I was surprised I was able to make out so much.

"That... is oddly specific. But anywho..."

Salvis began to wave his hands to and fro, causing the dust on the counters, floors, and walls of the ragged building to vanish, replaced with prestrene shimmering oak wood. Bottles of potions and rows of books on shelves began to appear and-

The shadow lord in disguise paused, his hands freezing in mid flourish and then lifted an eyebrow after a few seconds passed.

"Wait, why isn't there an undead woman breaking through the window yet?" He said, looking at the window behind himself and then whipping around to glare at Shade, who had fallen silent while looking down in surprise at the book. "What are you writing!?"

He stomped over to his shadow and wrenched the book from his hands, and then watched with wide eyes as words, the exact words being written right now, gradually appeared in front of him on the pages of the musky book.

"No...No...NO!" He fell to his knees, "The sudden use of indents, the change in font size...No!" He shouted to the ceiling, chest bared to the heavens as Salvis realized that once again, he was chained to the words written by 'the Author'

"Wait!" He snarled, glaring up and pointing at the ceiling, shaking his finger and then holding open the book in his other arm so that he could continue to read the details. He quickly skimmed the last page and his anger turned to rage. "You...you changed my name! I didn't say I wanted to be called Salvis! That's not my usual!"

'I know that, but calling you by your usual would be spoiling the story of other worlds.' came the response that was gradually written out on the pages of the book.

"What!? Who the hell cares! I don't want to be named Salvis!" The pale faced human snarled, so white he might as well be a ghost. "Oh fuck you I'm fabulous!" He said as he read the description.

'I had also fixed some of the grammar because Shade sucks at writing.' Came the next reply.

"Hey, it's hard to really remember English writing skills when you're stuck in between dimensions for years on end." Shade defended, his ears folded back a bit.

'Don't worry, I'm leaving the lack of indents and the rest of the font size, and some of the less obtuse grammatical errors to make it clear when I took over. I'm also making a point to use apostrophe marks to show my actual responses' The Author choose to not say that he had to look up how to spell apostrophe...

Salvis was now reading the words carefully and he tapped his finger on the pages as the words were written in. "Hey, this isn't in the usual style and format of my typical Author. Who are you? Also, really? Who says the word 'obtuse' as an adjective anymore?"

'A replacement.' Came the reply. 'I had been reading the story in bed just yesterday and it seemed it had been a long time since it was touched so I decided to see if I could make something of it as a surprise for your creator.' The author ignored the question about the obtuse usage, though now realizes that since this is being read by Salvis makes that point mute...which also meant that it was known he didn't know how to spell apostrophe too...

"Creator?" Salvis scoffed as he stood up, putting his hands on his hips and biting his lower lip, "If anything I probably created him, not the other way around. Also again, really? Now you used the word mute?"

'I wouldn't be surprised.' Again ignoring the comment about his word play. This Author liked to think he was clever with his word usage...

Salvis kept his annoyed expression as he folded his arms, "Well I'm not going to just let someone I don't know take over willy nilly. I want you to get permission from him first."

'You know that means posting this to the whole world as well right? Besides, you do know me, I'm already using you in other stories.'

"Hey! You don't even know where he, or I even, wanted -this- story to go. Seriously, where's the undead woman with the chair!?" He cried, waving his arms at the still unbroken window, then sighed and slouched a bit, looking defeated at having his story telling freedom snatched away.

"Just use your Author powers to open up a portal back home for me, since I know you can just make it so. Like that one show with the fairy tales. If you get permission to continue a story, you can make it drop me somewhere else instead."

There was a small pause before the reply slowly wrote on the book's pages.

'That seems reasonable enough' And the next second, a black and swirling wormhole appeared in the musky abandoned building.

'Just so you know, if I didn't finish up this prologue, you probably would have remained in frozen stasis for years.'

"That's fine." Salvis shrugged, his form shifted and changed back to his normal draconic one as he stepped towards the portal. "I like cold places."

'Yeah...so does your creator...weirdos...'

"Come on Shade, we're going back home. This world could have been fun but there's no way he's gonna get permission. I'm -his- baby, not this guy's." Drailsin rolled his eyes and Shade floated up beside the Shadow Lord.

"Yeah sure about that?" Shade asked, curious, "If they had access to somehow see what had already been written...it was probably copy pasted so whoever it is your original author must trust them enough."

Drailsin scoffed again as he slowly stepped inside the portal and Shade was pulled in after him since he was, after all, his shadow. "Yeah, and who the heck would he trust that much? There's only one person I trust enough in my own life to even consider asking them for their thoughts and opinions...well two really. Besides you of course Shade."

A sudden realization came over Drailsin and he poked his head back out of the portal and stared up at the ceiling with wide eyes. He spoke quickly in excitement, "Wait does that mean you're also the one who created-"

Suddenly the wormhole rapidly shrank, closing in around Drailsin's neck. 'Nope nope nope in ya go!'

Drailsin visibly strugged, as if trying to pull his head through a too small hole, "Hey wait! Not fair! Ow!" And he managed to pull his head in, the wormhole closing with a small popping noise.

....Which prompted the roaming undead woman outside to suddenly throw a chair through the window, but the zombie became confused, wondering where that sudden noise had came from.
