The Proloouge to my new series Souless Intent. It's short, sweet, but drives the point home. Chapter one will be a lot longer, I promis.

SOULESS INTENT

This story series is of a mature content which contains references to religious, demonic black magic summoning, incest between sibings and general violence. If such things distrub you, then this is your FINAL warning to turn back and go read a Paddington Bear book. If you're still here and haven't turned way, enjoy.

PROLOGUE - The Devil's Dance Floor "The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in times of great moral crisis, maintain their neutrality." ? Dante Alighi eri

If you aasked any normal person what life was like after the loss of a loved one, you'd get mied bg of responses. But perhaps nothing like this one. It wasa cool crisp winter''s night and Aurora still had trouble sleping. Tossing ad turning, dripping in seat as she relayed one more nightmare over in her head again and again. It was as if a record was skipping loop under the stylus. But a the terror built up in her rem sleep, she suddenly sat up screaming, as if bloody murder. Breathing heavily she looked down and buried her face in her hands tdars streaming down her face, forced to relive the nightmare that was so far in the past that it was still fresh in her mindIt was three yers ago on a night like this. But colder with more of a winter storm in the air. Aurora lived with her older brother Nate. IT was a quiet town where they lived, not much to do outsid of Duluth, but tear it up offroad. Snowobiles were Nate's hobby nd he often used them when the roads ere too dangerous for vehicles. Being that this was lot of back rods where they were, it wasn't uncommon to see this and most vehicles knew to slow down and watch out. Well tonight a typical trip was brewing for disaster. Aurora was burning up with a fever and Nate knew that storm or not he had to makek it to the only drugstore in town that was even open during this storm. We all know who I'm talking about, there's one in your town too. But that said he geared up and headed out don the roads, telling his little sister to stay put and under the blankets.

While th trip up the snowy icy roads ent okay, it was the return trip where Fate shoed how cruel of a mistress she can be. For whatever reason, or whatever twist of fate a drunk driver cam tearing down the road. Nate saw him coming and knew that if he could gauge the swervehe could get off oto the grassy part of the road and ue the terrain to avoid the driver. But this wasn't to be. The drunk hit the blackest icy patch he could nad lost control and before Nate could react things went black. No one's sure what happened when the paramedics ere dispatched or how they were dispatched, but they were and what they saw on the scene was a broken body of someone clutching a prescription for his sister.

I don't think I need to go into detail as to what happened next. Sick as a dog and almost having a breakdown when the officer at the door confirmed what had happened. Her life had been twisted upside down, inside out. That prefect life she had was torn away like a sail in a storm. And despite years so therapy, she never got over it And tonight proved it, as the nightmares of his death cme back to haunt her again and again. Yet deep inside each nightmare was a voice a soft familiar one that kept saying "Right here. RIght Here." Maybe she was going crazy. Some friends suggested talkign to a medium. Now Aurora was never one to take things like that seriously. She often thought those shos were staged and fake. But aftr years of nightmarish torment she figured wht did she have to lose.

There's a seedy side of the internet. Not just the top web, try deep and dark. Despite his love of snowmobiling her brother was a knack with computers and often had a wy to get into areas he shouldn't be in. And s grim as it seemed she triffled through her brothrs desk drawers looking fora familiar flash drive he always wore around his neck and praying he forgot it the night of the accident years ago. And after minutes of digging she found it in the most ironic way ever. It was inside box that said 'In The Event Of My Death....' Did he somehow know? No that's not possible, she thought. She booted his system up and plugged the drive in.

Wht was on this drive was a firewall system that covered his movements into the deepest places of the internet. Once she got herself in there she started looking digging around trying to find someone to make sense of what was in her dreams. But while looking for answers her searches brought her across sights that discussed some seriously dark and black arts. Almost Allister Crowley levels of dark. But the further she searched the more into ht she was spellbound of sorts. Spells, deals to be made, her soul to bring her brothr back to life? Could she, should she, pledge their souls to live this life of mortality? Was it possible? So many questions flooded her head as she didn't know if doing this was good idea. But she had been torn and conflicted that if this could ease her pain, why not go for it. If anything zombies right?

If only Aurora knew what she was getting herself into. But aftr countless nights of reading, and researching several sights and ordering a few books and supplies, she was heading down the path she'd never be the same walking again. A month passed and tonight marked the anniversary of her brothers death. She ws ready. a she sat in the living room and pulled up thecarpet to expose the bare floor, she carved out the ritual pentagram, placed the candles and lit them, folloing the procedures she read. And there she began to chant as she spilled her blood into the copper bowl in front of her saying "Great Spirits hear me, bring forth to me thta which I have lost. Spare my brother his eternal torment and when our mortal coils are free, I pedge our servitude as my token of gratitude."

Silence.....But than a loud bang as the candles went out in the order she lit them and whisped back on again."Does Thou Truly Mean To Honor Thy Word, To Sacrifice Something So Precious To Thy Mortal World To Bring Back That Which You Have No Control Of?" AuroraBlinked, biting her lip as she trembled, swallowing hard and nodding. "Than," said the voice, "Pledge To Me Your Devotion, Your Word of Honor And You Will be Reunited With THt Which You Seek." The voice could sense the fear in her but it wasn't going to stop her it seemed as Aurora boldly said with crack in her voice "I Pledge M-my Devotion To You Great Spirits." And with tht, laughing maniacal laughing begn to fill the room as the last thing herd was "Foolish Mortal, Your soul is mine!" and with that the bowl disappeared as the pentagram opening up as firey inferno like hands grabbed at her ankles and drug the screaming girl down, claw marks left from her nails she fell through unable to save herself and the floor returning to normal. She had been deceived. Something sheailed to pay attention to in all her research. Her blind devotion to resurrecting her brother had led to her own demise or did it.......What is about to happen will surely change her forever, good.....or bad.
