A possum and kobold consider where to go after they finish a meal in a diner.

~ Beth sunk back into the comfort of the diner's bench seating, nodding along to Harold's reckoning on which highways to take over the mountains. "Uh huh.", the possum's eyes on the kobold's plate, "Yeah", looking back up to Harold. Her attentions were divided between the slice of cabbage pie and Harold's supremely reasonable proposal. She focused for a moment, "That does sound about right; we'll need to make sure we have a full tank before we leave...", checking the map, "Coverton. Looks to be a big enough town, there should be somewhere open."

~ Harold, for his part, took this as an opportunity to have another bite of pie. "Hrrmphhrmrmm.", he replied in an agreeable tone.

~ Their planning complete, Beth again regarded the cabbage pie, the possum's curiosity emboldened by the resolution of logistics. "Could I try a bite of that?"

~ To the fortune of the pair, the remainder of their travel did not contain nearly as much regret as the possum soon found on her fork.
