Ok people this is my first story EVER and it's the story i said i might do for the purpose of giving my fursona a background story

I now present...

Gone

The Charizard just laid on the rocky surface of cave. Wondering where his life had just been taken without his consent. As the golden sunlight, that normally brought hope and joy to the creature's slowly degenerating spirit, entered the mouth of the cavern it landed upon the Pokémon snout. What was immediately noticeable was that this Charizard was not like the rest of his species. His scales and even the underlying skin was almost to the point of being pitch black. Instead of totally dark scales, however, they had a purple hue to them. This creature was what humans called a 'shiny' Pokémon and that made it all the rarer. The creature just laid there and let the gradual warmth from the sunlight to envelope him and give him some reason to get up. The Charizard slowly crawled to a sitting position, staying in the sunlight the whole way, and gazed at his surroundings. He noticed nothing out of the ordinary, whatever ordinary was anymore, and decided that the best thing to do now would be to find a meal.

The Charizard returned to his cavernous sanctuary feasted on the variety of berries he brought with him. He thought of nothing in particular, especially not current events, but he also thought of everything that he could wrap his mind around. The Charizard just let the world pass by and in what felt like 10 minutes of personal contemplation had actually been several hours of his life wasted. He realized this as he stood and walked to the mouth of the cave and saw that the sun was now high in the sky. It must have been at least 90 degrees today so the fire lizard decided to stay indoors for now and contemplate everything and why it had happened the way it did.

"Catch me if you can you overgrown lizard!"

"We'll see who's fastest after I get a hold of you!"

The day was growing old and the two Pokémon were finishing up their game. Truth be told they were fully grown but that didn't stop them from acting like children. They loved the fact that no matter what happened they had each other and that left them both with the freedom to almost anything they wanted. At the moment that included a nostalgia inducing game of tag between the Ninetails and her Charizard companion. The two were inseparable form the first time they met but about a month ago they decided to officially become mates. Everything about the Charizard intrigued the Ninetails. She couldn't help but wonder why he was such a quiet Pokémon but she didn't give it much more thought than any of the others ideas that floated through her head. She loved him for who he was and nothing would break that bond.

"Gotcha!", yelled the triumphant Charizard as he finally caught his mate.

"Hey! No fair I was distracted!", whimpered the defeated Ninetails.

"It's totally fair. You need to pay attention to what's going on around you."

"Whatever, can you at least let me up?"

The Charizard had caught the vixen but he had landed on top of her when he did so and that only seemed to make the situation a little bit awkward for the two of them, despite being mates.

"Yeah I suppose I could, but why not try this first while we're together?"

The lizard began to lower his face to hers and made contact between their lips. The defeated vixen couldn't help but enjoy the sudden affection. She truly loved the Charizard but she would have to get him to stop doing stupid things like this. She had fallen for the first few 'accidents' where the two ended up in a ridiculous situation but now she had gotten somewhat tired of them. She never lost interest in the kiss at the end of each incident though so she happily follow the lizards lead and reciprocated the affectionate kiss. The two locked together like that for about a minute before she spoke.

"Lando?"

"Yes, Ruby?"

"What are you doing?"

"I'm showing my little fox that I love her."

"But why did you fall on me?"

"It was an accident. Honestly it was." the lizard stated this while beginning to get defensive.

"You know I don't believe that, Lando. Why are you really doing this?"

Silence permeated the field as the lizard looked dumbfounded. She was actually asking why he was giving his mate affection. He was totally clueless as to why she would do something like that but he had to think fast to keep her from walking off to the cave. He knew she would not talk to him the rest of the night if he lied to her but he really couldn't place why he was doing what he was doing. He thought he was showing signs of his love to her but maybe there was more to it than that.

"Lando, I think I'm going to go to the cave now. Ok?"

She pushed him off of her and began the walk to the nearby sanctuary. Lando watched as Ruby strode through the field. It looked to him that she was gliding on air. He began to have a feeling in between his legs, but he simply ignored it. He walked after the golden fox and soon reached the entrance to the cave. She did not acknowledge his existence until he sat next her and set fire to the small pile of logs in the center of the cavern.

She gradually rose her head to see that Lando was looking rather disappointed with something. She assumed it was her rejecting his advances. They were mates but that didn't mean that they had all of their issues dealt with. This was just another obstacle for her to leap over and conquer. She nuzzled his chest with her muzzle, trying to get his attention.

Lando couldn't help it but he shivered at her touch. She was one his mate and he loved her dearly. He then spoke to her.

"What is it, Ruby?"

"What's bothering you Lando, You're not yourself." She began to dig deeper into his scaly chest with her snout.

"It's nothing, honey. I just need to think."

"Lando?"

"Yes, Ruby?"

She leaned in towards him and gave him a quick kiss to his nose.

"I love you." She stated at a near whisper.

"I love you too"

Lando heaved and sobbed as he remembered that day. She was so innocent then. So loving and deserving of every possible, positive, feeling.

"Why did they take you, Ruby? Why?"

Lando collapsed in the center of the cave and wept at his loss. He wanted to see her so badly right now. Just a glance at her face, her warm, smiling face. That's all he wanted now. That's all he's ever wanted.

Lando worked himself into a fitful sleep. He was sure nothing could ever be as horrible as when they took Ruby from his side.

"LANDO... HELP ME!"

The fire lizard stirred. Slowly at first but soon was in a sitting position. He glances around and noticed Ruby on the ground at the mouth of the cave. She was obviously in pain, she was having a hard time breathing and her fur was matted down with a copious amount of water. He stood in a split second and raced to her but he was too late. A strange object flew threw to air and made contact with Ruby's head, causing it to smack hard to the ground. Lando was enraged at this. Whoever thought that they could just throw something at his mate was going to pay. What happened next shocked Lando to his core. Ruby started to fizzle out of existence and soon what was left of her was a white light that was sucked into the strange object. He now realized that it was one of the human's devices, called a Pokéball. As the rest of Ruby disappeared, Lando knew that nothing would come out of trying to save her.

The ball rocked form side to side. Occasionally give a little bounce. The ball stopped for a second and the light on the front of the ball turned from red to white. Ruby was gone. The Charizard was devastated. He couldn't breathe, couldn't feel the ground beneath him or the air circulating through the cave. He was at a loss for anything except for the feeling of absolute emptiness. If he could've cried he would've likely turned into a Blastoise. He felt like breaking down and doing just that but he couldn't do it. The air grew heavy and stale around him and then he heard it. It was the worst sound he had ever heard and it broke down him down to nothing, body, mind, and spirit were rocked by this sound. It was of laughter.

The trainer couldn't believe his luck. A fully grown Ninetails and all he had to do was use a Wartortle to weaken it to the point of easy capture. He was elated to find himself with a brand new and probably very strong Ninetails. And he laughed at his good luck. He laughed about it all right then. It all came together so perfectly. He was so overjoyed that he didn't even hear the sound of distress coming from the cave and he walked away.

Lando died on the inside. He was left as a hollow shell of his former self. He couldn't do anything now. He had no purpose now. No one to care for...no one to love. He was truly and utterly unable to bring himself to accept that Ruby was gone... gone...gone. He couldn't do it, he just couldn't. He punched a wall of the cave and left the tiniest of indentations in the hard stone wall. He now cried his heart out. His mate... his love... his Ruby was gone.

And he could do nothing to stop it.
