This is a writing project and therefore just a working draft.

I woke from the dream, again, My family saying goodbye to me and wishing the best. It was odd to me as I struggle out of bed. I was the weakest gifted yet I surpassed them all by living. I never lived the glorious life of a hero but experienced being the victim, captive, and tortured by villains. My youngest brother passed away fifty years ago at the age of seventy-four. Since then, I have been alone and lost all contact with the rest of the extended family. I gave out weak sigh thinking about the past which was something I had not thought about until these dreams.

I made my way to the kitchen with the help of a skele-maid. It was a useful robotic though a cruel joke of it's title. I lived a hundred and twenty five years and not an easy site to see. I have no children nor tried. There was always the fear of finding that I inherit the rare condition that could make me sterile. Besides, I did not want my children to suffer as I did, especially with this longevity. I am frail old man, a living unsightly skeleton but I welcome my impending death. I believe those dreams are a sign as odd as them seem. My birthday will be tomorrow.

Another sigh and another grunt, I had the skele-maid make my breakfast while I typed into a device that control my home. I added a timed for complete shut down for noon tomorrow. It was odd to feel such glee as I walked the halls and rooms of my house. This has been my home for the last thirty years and it was time I say good bye to it all.

I made my way to bed in the early night, I rested my head down and listening to the ticking of the clock. A relic from my past. I do not know when I started dreaming but I felt the warm light melting into me. It was strange as if I was being devoured and my heart skipped in fear as the sensation kept growing. Is this dying? Is this it? I was wrapped in fear as I tingled and fell. I fell. For how long I do not know. Endless perhaps, as I fell I lost fear. I lost hope. All I had was light and warmth. Endless and floating now. Until a rush of cold and I fell again, onto something that broke beneath me and landed on a hard surface. The wind knocked out and the pain shocking my senses. I groan trying to see. My world was nothing but blurring shadows and strange grunts. I could not focus. I was dizzy and I think I threw up. Then, I passed out.
