#25 of Poetry

This poem is specifically attempting an explanation at why every person and animal who's buried in the Micmac Indian burial ground of "Pet Sematary" returns evil.

Note: My only true literary influences are H.P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe; I love making use of rarely used and/or outright archaic words to describe things, which may require the brief use of a Websters dictionary.

Monster Veil

(02/09/2019)

Sleep eternal, burned infernal,

Cut the cob, remove the kernel,

Dying light, endless flight,

This, a most horrendous plight,

Stalking beast, skulking east,

Of all emotions, love's the least,

Important now, I wonder how,

The Devil's field of souls are plowed,

Raping mind, tortured kind,

Nothing good in Hell you'll find,

Rescue me, hear my plea,

Your world I can no longer see,

Sealed box, broken vox,

Pulling torment like an ox,

Sorrow's rife, constant strife,

Dig me up, renew my life,

Spoken word, it's not absurd,

Extinguish fires that I've incurred,

Forming gneiss, scalding ice,

Take the chance and roll the dice,

Shift beneath, scarring heath,

As I rise, I fell the wreath,

Breaking ground, heart that pounds,

Enter your world, my second round,

But evil's stint, a deep imprint,

Strikes me like a steel to flint,

Uncontrolled, depths untold,

My darkened heart slowly unfolds,

Giving in, a twisted grin,

Indulging in most every sin,

Singing songs, while killing throngs,

You now know why I came back wrong.
