#2 of Scrolls for a Lifetime

A particular God has his eyes on the child of Anubis in this quick exchange.

A little backstory: Sobek has many wives, and isn't ashamed to claim more. Khaliset believes this feeble attempt is just another way to strike her down, and although it is sincere she has no interest in an old God such as himself. Her snarky attitude has momentarily set things straight, but Sobek doesn't always accept a no.

Characters are Khaliset and Sobek, although Kayne, the son of Sobek, is referenced in the very last sentence. I do not yet have them both characters uploaded to the site though you may view them at the links below:https://refsheet.net/SabertoothAssassin/khalisethttps://refsheet.net/SabertoothAssassin/kayne

From high above, a goddess watched as a human ceremony commenced below.

Beneath her paws, pillows of silk warmed her toes, and a sweet inscent burned in her sensitive nostrils. A statue of a God stood nearby, along with a flaming torch as the stone figure gazed down upon the city.

This was the city of Krokodilopolis, aptly named in favor of the region's favorite God, Sobek. Below, a "tame" crocodile was being fed by handlers, as townsfolk gathered around to pray, chant, dance, or watch as their idolized God was fed his daily meal. An impressive natural creature to say the least, with rare scales of white tint and massive in size. Priests had even adorned the animal with jewlery around it's neck.

Khaliset occasionally wished she had one final form, that of a human. Often times, the closest the goddess could get would be in her black jackal form, as it was most natural. But alas, she was always stuck to the rooftops, watching humans go about their lives from above. So drawn to the earth she was, yet never truly part of it.

A sudden feeling of a new presence jolted the lass awake, a rare feeling in the mortal realm. Turning, the jackal headed princess no longer stood alone, as the Crocodile God himself had joined her on the rooftop.

"Your earthly child is plump and healthy, Sobek." she said flatly, motioning to the white crocodile below.

*"Just the way it's meant to be." * he replied, stepping forward to watch the feeding ritual.

Khaliset takes a moment to glance at the fullblood God, the final rays of afternoon sun glinting off of his polished dark crystalline scales. His jaws are sharply defined, huge muscles fueled his snapping jaws and puzzle like teeth. His arms, though scaled, are human like and round with bulging strength, and end in a human like hand with webbing and scales. His jewel encrusted collar hides his torso, while a sun disk crown sits precariously atop his earless head. His legs are structured like hers with long animal like joints, and he walks on webbed toes similar to her. A long, thick serpentine tail juts from below his pristine white clothes, dragging the ground behind him. Though a handsome site to behold, Khaliset knew he often spoke with a split tongue, and was prone to gluttony.

The demigod was just about to speak when a priest began to yell a ritual chant from below. "Sobek eats with his mouth. He with the pointed teeth! Sobek eats while he also mates. He rends who he will..."

"I hope they think I eat with my mouth." the God chuckles, taking a step back from the ledge and lowering himself to sit on the silk pillows. With both legs out to the side, he props himself up with one hand, patting the pillow next to him with the other. ** "Sit." ** He welcomes the demigod, handing her a bundle of grapes from the offering plate before taking a stem for himself.

Taking a seat across from him, Khaliset takes the grapes and snaps her jaws shut on the fleshy fruit. Even when seated, Sobek was still immensely large than the fae. The gods eyes were intent on her, his slitted pupils dissecting her body.

*"What is it you want Sobek." * She asks, tossing one grape after the other into her maw. She never was one for mindless chatter or beating around the bush. Khaliset did not sensor the caution and distrust in her voice. The God did not follow her without reason and she knew that. Her pastel eyes watched his every move, keen to flee if needed. The fullblooded God had not been in the mortal realm long enough to lose power... yet.

"Straight to it as always. I was hoping to savor the moment..." ** He grumbled, throwing the last of the grapes in his maw, a noisy gulp soon following. **"Has Anubis chosen you a husband yet?" He asks, taking another grape bundle.

Khaliset stops short, jaws parted in surprise. ** "Really? Sobek, don't you have enough wives? Or lovers?" ** She asked, ears pinned in no attempt to hide her irritability. Why? Why her? Why a demigod? Was this some pitiful attempt to tease her?

"Peace, I know of your anger. It is an honest question, and I'd like to make myself a candidate." The God continued, steadily munching grapes.

"Anubis will not chose my husband, only I will make that call." she replied, withdrawing herself.

*"Well in that case... let me give you a taste of what you'd be getting." * his eyes burn a toxic green as he reaches out with a clawed hand, getting close enough to rest his cold touch on her thigh. The moment is fleeting for him, as Khaliset dispersed her body into sand, returning to a standing position at the corner of the rooftop.

**"Fair offer Sobek, I might concider it...

Or maybe I'll consider your son."**
