#8 of Legends of Hyrule

Chapter 7! Yay! This one was actually meant to be something almost entirely different, but then I went and wrote too much and had to push the original idea back to the next chapter :P

So, continuing on, in this chapter, Shadi joins an expedition to the Great Plateau, and runs into an old friend who helps her cheer up in a dark moment...

If you enjoyed this, go and give Shadi some love as well for being the star over at FA: xShadi , and if you have a moment, Vote, Fave, and comment to let me know what you thought! Feedback is always appreciated!

"So, where will you go from here?" Shadi asked between bites of the leg of rabbit she just retrieved from the skewer above the fire, her tail swishing slowly as she chowed down on her meal. Izyat sat nearby, the midnight black Keaton eating his own fill. It was the first time she'd seen him eat anything since she'd accidently managed to free him from his prison in the realm of Twilight.

His fur glimmered in the light of the campfire, and out on the rolling plains of Hyrule field, the stars twinkled overhead, not a cloud in the sky tonight. Since their run in with the Dragon, Farosh, Shadi had been invigorated with her research, and had spent the entire next week pouring over the ruins and adding a plethora of sketches to her journals, as well as several new watercolor pieces.

Even now, she had a small easel set up beside her, working on her latest piece between bites. Izyat too had undergone a change after the dragon had touched his forehead with its horn. The tips of his flowing tails and ears were now capped with a white-gold like fur, as well as the paint from his lower jaw down to his thighs. All in all, he looked much more like a traditional black fox... Just, much larger and with many more tails, and an intellect and cunning that would have made even the most experienced swindler blush.

Plus, if the previous nights were anything to go by, certainly much better endowed and... energetic. They'd been traveling for a week, very slowly and lazily making their way to the west, but there was no hurry to their pace at all. Often, they spent entire afternoons simply exploring one old clearing or an abandoned village together, or climbing the nearest hillside so that Shadi could paint the sunsets while Izyat curled up at her feet and kept her company with his stories.

And in the evenings... She shivered, the fur on the back of her neck standing on end for just a moment as a warm flush passed through her, the feline's damp little nose pinkening at the tip. Well, there were other benefits to being able to fully materialize where he pleased, when he pleased... It made for some... Interesting memories.

She stroked the fine brush across her figures face on the piece of canvas, trying to capture the way his eyes looked like they were glowing in the light, a brilliant icy blue that pierced the dark like a spot-lamp, boring into the depths of whomever met such a fierce and primal gaze.

He could still slink away into the shadows in a most literal sense, spending much of his daylight hours hiding in her own, but so too could he make his physical manifestation appear at will, regardless of darkness. The light was still uncomfortable for him, but he'd discovered that it worked when a pair of mounted bokoblins tried to accost Shadi at a river crossing. It hadn't ended well for the savages, and Shadi had made sure to show the vulpine the fullest extent of her gratitude that night... After all, it wasn't just good for him...

I think west, to the Gerudo... There's many ruins there, and it was there we were banished, at a place known as the Arbiter's Grounds. I figure it as as good a place as any to begin looking for a way to bring the rest of us back...

Shadi nodded quietly, adding the finishing touches to her piece before she turned the easel to show off her progress. The Vulpine's gaze lingered on the artwork for a long moment before his voice sounded in her head again.

Is that really how I look now? I know the Dragon's are mighty, but they might have considered a different pallet at least.

Shadi couldn't help but giggle. He was blessed by a Dragon to have his form restored, yet still found something to complain about.

"I think you look quite dashing. You can't just skulk in the shadows forever. And besides, it highlights your tails."

On the plus side, it is nice to be able to move freely on my own now, though I will say, after lingering in your shadow for so long, it almost feels strange. At least I can always be back in a few moments if I choose. I can still sense you, even when I'm far away...

"How far have you gone now?" She asked, genuinely a little curious. He had gone quiet after saying he was going to try it in the afternoon while she was riding, and hadn't returned for almost an hour, presumably exploring the limitations of his newfound abilities.

I reached Death mountain earlier, and clung in the shadows of some birds migrating for the warmth. But then I grew bored and came back. Suffice to say, the Goron's are not overly exciting. Honestly. Who eats rocks?

"Will you come and find me when you're done? Or will I have to go looking for you?" Shadi asked, raising one eyebrow. She teased, of course, but she had to admit, she'd grown fond of her mysterious vulpine companion..

I told you. I'll never be far away. It will depend on what is there to discover still...

And with that, it was settled. Izyat slunk off in the shadows come first light, and with a parting wave of her tail to ensure he had suitable enticement to come back, Shadi set out south, riding down the trails towards the Great plateau, tagging along with an expedition crew of Rito and Hylians who were headed that direction from Castle town she met upon the road, seizing a chance to see a piece of Hyrule few had since the calamity.

"Just don't look down and you'll be fine!" Came the call from above her, but Shadi just squealed, dangling from the rope tied around her waist as she swung in the open air, occasionally bumping against the sheer cliff face. This wasn't what she had in mind when they had said they had Rito with them!

She had imagined that the Rito would fly them up to the plateau! Instead, they'd just flown up several hundred feet to attach climbing ropes and nails into the cliff-face, and agreed to help if anyone 'slipped'.

"Pull me up already!" Shadi shouted at them, cursing so loudly that it echoed off the cliff face in front of her. The damned rock had given way. Fortunately, the rope had not. Where the problem in this lied however, was that now her and two of the Hylians were dangling off in the open air while they scrambled to try and get back to the cliff.

It took some time, but finally, the Rito in charge of the expedition managed to pull them safely up and over the lip of the plateau, and back onto solid ground. Shadi breathed a sigh of relief, throwing herself at the soft grass as she hugged the ground and promised that she would never leave it again.

Most of the group went towards the Shrine of resurrection, hoping to discover something new about the ancient healing chamber, but it had been inactive for years now. While it was interesting, Shadi was far more interested in painting the scenic view from the outcrop of rock just outside of the entrance, where one could see almost all of Hyrule, the spectacular panoramic scene splayed across the horizon.

She spent most of the afternoon up there, working on a large canvas as she took her time, making sure each stroke was perfect. Maybe she could pay one of the Rito to fly it down to the coast and send it home early...

The sun was already setting low across the mountains when she finally finished, and stepping back, she admired the uncanny resemblance of her art to the scene she'd been trying to capture. Sure, it wasn't as true to life as her Sheikah slate had been with its photographs, but she had long since given it up as trampled in a field or sunk into that swamp she'd been ambushed in. Perhaps it might have been worth her time to go and search for it, but it was already several days out of the way, and she didn't fancy the idea of facing any more Lizfols...

She mourned the loss of the precious device, but even without it, she had seen so many new things, and captured scenes in a stunning likeness the Sheikah slate simply couldn't. Photographs were well and good, but her paintings had that special touch to them. Those were her memories, and her vision of them when she closed her eyes.

Still, so had been all of her sketches in her original journals and art books... She sighed, sitting down beside her easel with her legs dangling off the edge of the cliff, watching the sun as it slowly dipped below the hills, turning the sky from a fiery orange to a soft, lavender purple and finally to a deep, rich blue as the last traces of light finally vanished, and fireflies came out to twinkle in the fields with their bioluminescence.

All of her drawings of Kass and Izyat had been in her old journals as well... Perhaps when she turned west to visit the desert herself like Izyat had, she could finish her trip going north to stop by the Rito village again, and see if her favorite minstrel was in town... She doubted it. He traveled more than he was home after all...

"Izyat?" She called quietly to the night. The wind shook the leaves slowly in the trees as it passed, but no voice returned to her. The world from her felt massive and lonely... His presence had been oddly comforting, like traveling with a faithful companion, just.. One that could hold a conversation for a good deal of time, and seemed to know a wealth of hidden little spots of the main trails. Plus, he'd been soft and warm to sleep with at night, among other things...

Without him, or anyone else, it was quiet, and cold, and her heart sank a little as she tucked her knees up against her chest.

Down below, she could see an orange glow a few hundred meters down the trail in a natural cave where the expedition team had set their camp for the night, while they searched for clues of the past among the ruins of the plateau. A lone ocarina had started playing from one of the Hylians by the fire, sending a sweet, but distorted melody up the hill to her, where the wind snatched away notes and tone.

Perhaps she'd go down there for the night... Maybe she could get drunk enough to try her luck with one of the Hylians.

She stood up slowly, packed her easel and folded it up between the straps on her pack, before carefully rolling her painting, sliding the canvas into a leather tube she'd purchased just for the larger sheets. Worst case, maybe she could trade it for a bottle to drown herself in tonight. Her mood had soured, and with a melancholy groan, she made her way back down the path towards the camp.

Amongst the crowd of researchers, adventures and historians, Shadi felt a little less lonely, but when a bottle did emerge to be passed around, she drank deep, trying to relax and enjoy herself. As it turned out, the Hylian with the ocarina was quite a good player, and kept the atmosphere jovial and light, even if Shadi didn't feel it quiet so much. The bottle came back, and she took another swill, quietly humming along to a soft tune as the musician played, her foot tapping to the rhythm.

She'd feel better in the morning, she knew she would. She just missed her companions, and none of the people with her really seemed like the shacking up type. In the end, she retired for the night, a little too drunk and tired to do a whole lot even if she had wanted to. She stumbled away from the glow of the light toward where she had set her tent on the flats at the base of the hill, mumbling to herself.

She kicked a rock as she staggered, and swore as she almost went over sideways, throwing her hands out to arrest her fall when a large, strong feathered hand shot out to catch her.

"Careful Shadi! If you fall here, you might well find yourself tumbling down the whole hill before you stop." Said a warm, friendly, and very familiar voice with a quiet chuckle, and an all to familiar musical lilt.

She span instantly and threw her paws around the Rito, shoving her face into the soft feathers of his chest, a loud purr escaping her involuntarily. She nuzzled at his warmth as two great wings settled around her middle, petting her back reassuringly.

"I had heard something about an odd farlander cat joining a trip to the Great plateau, and saw the firelight, so..."

"Shhhh... You're loud from down here..." Shadi giggled into Kass's feathers, before turning, gently leading him by the hand towards her tent. The blue feathered Rito followed without word or protest as she led him in through the flap, laying down and pulling the Rito with her. She planted a gentle kiss atop his big black beak, still purring.

She pushed him over, her paws working to undo the leather chest-piece that he always wore. No words were needed as his massive, feathered hands worked with a musicians dexterity to remove her own tunic, and before long, she was riding in his lap with the Rito gripping her waist tightly, yowling out for the world to hear as bliss-filled birdsong filled her tent.

He stretched her body in such a delightful way, the alcohol only helping her relax against him as he held her hips in his massive wings, helping to guide her body's rocking against his waist. He reached her cervix without issue, pushing against the firm ring with smooth, even strokes of his body that pressed her against the downy feather of his groin, messing and matting them with the pairs enjoyment and pleasure as they got reaquainted with one another's bodies.

She moaned to the stars as his warmth blossomed in her core, filling her completely as the birds own pent up need was relieved, and together they rode out their climaxes, kissing messily and running their hands over each others bodies like they were rediscovering all they'd missed. Both of them collapsed, panting and warm as the little lioness snuggled her way back into his embrace, tucking her head against his chest.

"I'm glad you're okay... I saw the Lizfols and-" Kass started with a soft, concerned whisper, holding Shadi close between his wings, but she silenced him with a gentle brush of her paw over his beak.

"Shush now... I'm okay. Tomorrow. It's a story for tomorrow. Don't leave early this time..." She warned him with a quiet snicker, snuggling herself into his feathers with a happy and contented purr. It wasn't as soft as Izyat's tails, but... Well, maybe it was. It was a close competition.

She was asleep before she heard his promise not to.

It was past mid-morning when Shadi finally did arise, one paw lazily shielding her eyes from the sunlight that filtered in through the wall of her tent. She could fel Kass's warmth against her back, her tail wrapped around his hips subconsciously as she had dozed. The big bird gave a quiet snore as she shifted, snuggling back against him, her paws laying across his feathered wing around her waist.

"Finally awake?" Came the soft mumble from behind her.

"No... five more minutes." Shadi murmured, earning a soft chuckle from the avian, his beak lightly grazing across the side of her throat. She purred, exposing her neck submissively for him as he tenderly groomed her fur, her tail swishing.

"Sleep well?"

"Better if you'd stayed quiet for another five minutes..." She rolled her eyes playfully, turning about in his arms to kiss the tip of his beak.

"Breakfast first yes? Then I'll tell you what happened..." She purred quietly, and after enjoying a few mome moments of his affection, they both finally found the motivation to rise and face the day.

Kass leaned over the small campfire, cooking up a meal for the pair of them while Shadi sat back. He knew she was drawing him, and was playing on it, always trying to show his 'good side', preening and shifting slightly as she did. His antics made her laugh, even as the pencil scratched across the paper.

"Trying to look your best for me?" She teased him, poking her little pink tongue out playfully. She knew it was common for the Rito to preen themselves, but the way Kass went about it while trying to cook was more akin to watching a cat trying to chase two balls of yarn at once.

"Well, after last night, I imagine you'd have expected nothing but my best?" He quipped back just as quickly, until Shadi tapped her pencil on the edge of her journal loudly, pointing at the small metal plate over the fire.

"Well, I can tell you're trying. The food is burning though." She pointed out with a smirk, as Kass suddenly flustered himself in a panic to try and salvage the meal.

Burnt fish aside, it wasn't all bad. She packed up her things, and together, they set out towards the ruins of the Temple of Time, her tail swaying merrily as Kass quietly noodled a tune on his accordion in tempo with her steps.

"So, what exactly happened at the swamp? The next thing I remember is that I'd been bound and gagged by the Lizfols, and they were carrying me away. What happened with you?" She started, and Kass flubbed a note, his tune coming to a close unexpectedly as a frown crossed the massive Rito's features.

"I... Saw you get taken by them, and once they were sure you weren't going to escape, they came for me. Fortunately, I had time to pack up and take to the skies before the foul reptiles reached me. I circled overhead until they picked you up and left, and once I saw where they were going, I went east, to warn the Zora. After that, I went back to search for you, but I couldn't see anything from overhead..." He confessed.

Shadi gave a gentle nod. He had tried. That was all she could ask of him after all.

"I was locked in a cell for the day, and when night came, one of them, the big gold one... He... Came into my cell, and-" She paused in her stride, and instead turned off to the side of the worn cobbled path, sitting down at the base of an apple tree in the shade. Kass sat down beside her and draped his great wing around her shoulders comfortingly.

"You don't need to say any more if it upsets you. It is over now, and you are safe." He reassured her, his beak nudging her cheek with a quiet peck.

"It's alright... I'm used to males being rough. My kind aren't exactly known for their gentle natures after all... I'm okay..." She went to continue her story, but it was then she realized she'd yet to explain an important detail to him.

"Do you know anything about the Keaton, or the Twilight realm?" She turned, flicking her tail into Kass's lap as she looked up at him questioningly. Dammit, she still felt so small beside him. Even sitting she barely reached the bird's pectorals.

"Hmmm? A curious change of topic, but I shall play along... The Keaton were a race of foxes with many, many tails. Apparently, they bring good nature and luck to those who are fortunate enough to see one, but nobody has since before the Calamity, or if they have, I'm yet to find any mention of it." He frowned again, scratching his chin with his free wingtip.

"As for the Twilight realm, the references to it are many. Supposedly, once It was used to seal away Ganon, and it is supposed to be a mirror of our own world, but left in an eternal twilight that never ends... You've roused my interest now Shadi. Just what has this to do with your story?" He asked, arching one eyebrow, his voice taking on a curious, musical lilt that it did when he was excited to hear something.

"Well..." She began, clearing her throat. "Apparently while we were in the cave in that blizzard-"

"How could I forget? Your music was as beautiful as you are..."

Shadi playfully slugged his shoulder before continuing, a blush on her nose.

"Well, apparently, I guess our presence or me bumping something or... He's not exactly sure-"

"He? Should I be jealous?"

"Ha, well, apparently I freed a black Keaton from the Twilight realm somehow, and he basically became my shadow for a while..."

Kass let that digest for a moment, humming thoughtfully. He was quiet for a minute, before his beak opened again.

"I've heard of residents of the Twilight having to remain in the shadows while in our world, but this is... Something new indeed. And this Keaton, was he how you escaped?"

"Twice, actually... I got attacked by Lizfols at Typhlo as well, and ran into the city to escape them. He emerged from the dark and got rid of them, and uh, we might have celebrated afterwards..." She didn't bother mentioning that he'd just 'taken' his reward from her... What he'd done was by no means equal to the Lizfols... Besides, she'd gotten her enjoyment form him at least. She wasn't going to hold that against the Keaton.

Now it was Kass's turn to blush, a hearty chuckle escaping him as the skin around his beak visibly pinkened under his down.

"Well, my my. It's hardly mine to judge after all. I can't say I'd blame him. In that situation, I may have pounced you as well, had I four legs and tails that weren't feathers!" He laughed, the fluttering notes of his laughter lifting her own spirits with him.

"He told me that the Keaton were banished there during the Calamity, and he'd been stuck there since... When I was captured, they had torches, and it was preventing him from appearing, but once the Zora attacked, he had a chance, and I jumped into the water. He lay over me to keep me warm until the Zora found me."

Kass beamed at that, glad to hear that at least she had been able to escape thanks to the Zora.

"What then?" He asked, eager to hear how her story played out.

Shadi spent the better part of the morning recounting her adventure, from the weeks she'd spent recovering, to Naroon, her new inspiration. She poured over her sketches as she told him about everything that had happened, stopping frequently to fetch her other sketch books or show off the paintings and sketches she had made, as well as to let him read all of her notes from in the moment.

They stood, Shadi continuing to pour over her story as they made their way towards the grand temple atop the hill. Some had considered restoring it eventually, but against the pressing needs of infrastructure and restoring the castle, fixing up an old temple atop an almost unreachable plateau had been put on the back burner.

She explained to him what had happened in the jungle, and her reunion with Izyat. She told him about the shrine, and blushing, let him see her sketches of it, the Rito taking a keen interest in those details, but then she got to the Dragon, and she thought Kass might have fainted.

"And Farosh let you touch him?!" Kass squawked with shock, his eyes wide in surprise and amazement.

"It was more like he touched us... Izyat first, and it was like he'd been shocked, and then me. I blacked out, and when we came too, he had remembered his name, and I felt invigorated, like when inspiration hits you... I wish I'd had my Sheikah slate still so I could have taken a photograph to back up my drawings..." She sighed, stopping at the entryway of the great temple.

It stood, looming and imposing over them both, reaching an easy hundred or more feet into the sky, with a pointing stepple at its peak. Most of the north side of the temple had been destroyed during the calamity, and several guardians were still yet to be removed from the rubble.

"Well, actually, speaking of your Sheikah slate..." Kass started, and Shadi turned, her eyes widening as the Rito pulled something from his hip-pouch. He held out the slate on his outstretched feathers, offering it freely to her.

"I was going to give it to you last night after I found you, but uh... Well, we became distracted catching up." He chuckled politely as she scooped it up, spinning and squealing in a childish joy as she tucked it tight against her chest.

"I have some of your books as well... A few of them were beyond saving, but the one's they'd thrown out onto the ground were still mostly alright... I sent them back to my wife for safe keeping in the Rito village. I thought that if I found you, you could perhaps come and get them and maybe visit for a while..." He carefully asked the question, reaching up to scratch the back of his head with one massive wing.

"It seemed silly, really, considering I didn't know if you were alright, or-"

She shut him up with a kiss on the end of his beak as she jumped up against him, throwing her arms around his shoulders. The Rito was nearly knocked off balance as Shadi thumped into him. She may have been small, but she was certainly curvy, and had the raw feline muscle weight of a big cat to go with it.

He laughed as kissed her back, his tongue briefly flickering across her lips in a sweet little gesture. His smile stretched broadly from the corners of his beak.

"Well... You're most welcome Shadi." He finally managed, shaking his head as she kissed him again, before she looked sternly at him, her mismatched eyes locking with his.

"Down now."

He quickly set her down rather than risking her ire, and Shadi smiled, immediately flicking through the Sheikah slate to make sure everything still worked. Once she was satisfied, she turned it, and snapped a quick picture of the still surprised looking Rito.

"Keep surprising me like this, and maybe I'll find a way to distract you again later..." She promised him with a sly wink as she began walking around the ancient building, reacquainting herself with the tool she thought was lost for good.

"Well..." Kass began, following along behind her slowly as he brought his accordion to his fore, and quietly began playing, squeezing the instrument as it breathed the notes into the interesting acoustics of the long abandoned temple.

"Before the Calamity, this used to be just down the road from Castle town, a small settlement in it's own right, though if it had its own name, I'm unsure. It was here the princess used to come to pray to the goddess Hylia. Most of the shrine itself is still intact, as a matter of fact..." He gave her the little history he knew of the place as she moved around, making notes and quick sketches, as well as fascinatedly crawling over the remains of the destroyed guardians.

She played on them without fear, though Kass was a little more cautious, prodding each limb he stepped over with his taloned feet first.

"Nobody is quite sure how the plateau ended up like this though... It was as if when the calamity struck, Hylia herself raised it to its current position, but alas, it remains a mystery to this day... It would make for quite the story, or a great song as well..." He chuckled, watching as Shadi knelt, fiddling with the 'foot' of one of the nearest guardian's legs.

She was fascinated. Really, aside from a few she had seen at a distance, this was the first time she'd had the opportunity to study a guardian up close. She poked her head in holes, observed the odd inner workings, and even took rubbings of some of the odd markings and patterns on the surface of the ancient war machine.

For a moment, her attention on the temple itself was lost, and she made odd, curious chirping noises like a cat hunting a small insect as she darted in and around the outsides of the guardians, before she climbed up onto the top of its head, and sat, purring quietly, in typical cat fashion.

"Quite comfortable there upon your throne, are you?" Kass couldn't help but laugh as Shadi gave her tail a single flick in the Rito's direction, wriggling happily.

"Very, thank you... My whole life I wanted to come here and see all of this, and now that I'm here, it's just... There's so much history, it's hard for a single lioness to keep up with, you know?" She gestured around, sitting up as she swung her legs over one side of the guardian's turreted 'head'.

"I feel like I could write for a week and still not even capture a tiny portion of everything..." She paused, and took a breath, trying to level herself a little bit in her excitement. She smiled.

"Well... Perhaps start with what you know, some sketches or a painting even? There are a few great places you could draw from... I know a lovely field just down the hill over there where you could paint, I could play... Perhaps set a fire and enjoy some lunch together, and... Sunbathe in the grass after?" The bird suggested with a risque grin, reaching one wing up towards Shadi.

"The pleasure of your company for a whole day? How could I refuse? I've never said no to a meal before, and I certainly don't plan to start now..." Shadi laughed, her teeth flashing cheekily as she led him help her down from the guardian, her tail swishing as they meandered down the worn path.

True to his word, the view from the field was indeed picturesque. Thin, tall birch trees dotted it seemingly at random. Setting up her easel in the glade, she turned back towards the temple, even the massive structure seeming dwarfed in the shadow of the mountain rising up to snow capped peaks behind it.

She nodded approvingly as she began her first brush stroke as Kass settled into the ground beside her, laying his accordion out over his lap. Gently, he rocked the instrument between his wings, slow, easy notes beginning to ring out across the field. It was a sweet little song, and Shadi immediately recognized the rhythm as he played.

It rose and fell on the alternating bridges, like the waves of the sea, and quietly, she began to hum along, her tail flicking in time with the notes as he played them, Kass's eyes merrily closed as he focused purely on the sounds he produced.

"This song, it's... From my homeland. I recognize it.." She pointed out once he finished, the instrument falling silent. Turning from her canvas, the big blue Rito looked up at her curiously.

"Is it? I never knew. A violinist on the eastern coast taught it to me during my travels. I simply adapted it to the accordion, and added a little flair of my own..." He commented, seeming sincerely intrigued.

"It's a fisherman's song. I can't remember the lyrics, but it was about a male sailing out to sea, and his mistress awaiting his return."

"Ahhh, a love song. How very pretty... You'll have to teach me the words if you remember them!" He beamed up at her, crossing his legs as he leaned back onto his wings, relaxing in the breeze.

Shadi blushed, muttering something as her nose turned a vivid pink, quickly turning back to her artwork. This didn't escape Kass's notice, and his head tilted to the side, a chuckle escaping the large Rito.

"Sorry, what was that?" He said, slowly rising to his feet. He stood behind Shadi, looming over the little tan feline as he lowered his beak over her shoulder. Almost cheekily, he gave her throat a playful peck.

"I was saying... It's better without the lyrics... It's uh.... A sailor's song after all..." Her fur bristled as a warm flush raced through her from having the Rito so close against her, and he knew it as well, pressing his warmth against her back as his wings came to rest on her shoulders. Those dexterous feathers on their tips rubbed and massaged her, and already she knew if he kept this up, she was never going to get this painting done...

And honestly... That didn't bother her a bit.

"You know, if you keep this up Kass, I may just have to come back and visit again..." She spoke with a soft purr, the sweet lilt of her native accent rolling her words in an almost seductive manner.

"I had hoped you might say as much. It's always a... pleasure... to have a close friend to meet on the roads."

Oh, to hell with it... Shadi finally resigned in her efforts to continue painting. The temple wasn't going anywhere, and she'd completed the sketch a while ago. It wouldn't hurt if she stopped to indulge herself a little...

She let her pallet and brush drop to the grass, turning about as the bird's wings enveloped her in a tight embrace, her muzzle shoved into that familiar scent of his chest feathers, and she inhaled it deeply, letting herself soften and relax into his protective hold.

"Mrhmmm.... Though we were a little more than friends by now..." She prodded him, one of her paws drifting down over the back of his leather vest before giving a playful squeeze of his toned rear.

"Well..." Kass started, wrong-footed slightly. "Very close friends with... Certain mutual benefits, perhaps."

"Oh? Benefits such as, say... Keeping each other warm at night?" She continued for him, her paw rounding his hips to his front, where she rubbed at the feathers covering his cloacae, brushing the sensitive zone with her soft kitty paw, and teasing the tip of his maleness from hiding.

Kass let out a crooning chirp as he rolled his head back on his shoulders, letting the small feline do as she pleased, even pushing his hips forward to press her paw a little firmer against his emerging Rito shaft.

"Mmhmm... And making little cats make the sweetest music of all." Kass replied with an all to knowing grin, his wings upon her shoulders pushing her down slightly, letting the feline know just want he wanted.

She didn't object, and sank to her knees obediently, the soft grass beneath great for just this. With her short stature, she came perfectly level with the male's cock when she was on her knees, and at a gentle push from his wings, she opened her maw, and dragged her rough feline tongue over the crown of his length, drawing the tappered breeding rod from hiding and out into the open air.

Kass crooned above her, letting out a sigh as his feathers ruffled, Shadi's sweet little tongue flicking over the very tip of him in a deliberate tease. The over-sensitive point was a weak spot, and she exploited it to its fullest, letting her paws dig into his hips in an attempt to hold the bird still.

"See, this is what you get for doing this to my clit last time..." She told him firmly, before her lips parted, and a light squeeze on her paws had that dark flesh pushed up into her muzzle, her head sinking lower and lower as she deepthroated Kass's bird breeder.

"Ahh... Oh that's nice..." He chirped as she continued lowering herself on his quickly growing length, feeling the tip probing at the back of her throat. Suppressing her gag-reflex, she swallowed, guiding it downwards as he fed her his impressive shaft deeper and let her tongue caress his underside. Warm and wetly lavishing his maleness with deft little rolls and flicks of the oral muscle, she pleased him as best she could, purring all the while.

Shadi murmured something of an affirmative around the flesh parting her lips, the soft vibrations of her instinctive purr only encouraging the Rito as he bucked his hips entirely out of instinct, his massive wings wrapping around the back of her head in a firm, yet soft embrace, and quickly, he raised them up from her spine, grasping the tufts of her large, fluffy ears instead.

She was very mindful of her teeth as his girth quickly filled out in her muzzle, the little feline huffing through her nose as he pulled back while the Rito gently rocked his hips into her face. Each breath drew in the rich scent of the strong male that clung to the down coating his groin when he thrust forward and buried her muzzle in it, holding her there while she nursed on his shaft and let his precum coat her throat.

His finger feathers rubbed along the edges of her ears as she gave him what very well might have been his first proper muzzle fucking. After all, she didn't imagine a beak felt anything near like a warm and eager feline tongue, but judging by the way Kass's beak was open and his dick was throbbing in her mouth, he seemed to be enjoying it more than just a little.

She pulled herself back despite his wings gentle but enthusiastic encouragement to go back down on him, licking her lips with a wet smack as she gazed up at him, grinning cattishly.

"What? Never had a girl do that to you before?" She teased, flicking her tail as she undid her top, letting her breasts spill out as she lay the garment down on the grass beside her. She'd need that later...

"Well, Rito aren't exactly... Made for that. You need to get creative and careful when you have a beak, you know?" He explained, his cheeks flushed. Apparently, he'd been enjoying it a little more than his composure suggested.

'Mhmm... I'd bet." She purred, slowly sliding her mouth back around Kass's shaft. Above her, he let out a shameless groan that was unmistakably pleasure, a low trill that almost mimicked Shadi's naughty purring, the feline's tail lashing back and forth as she let his precum cover her tastebuds.

And honestly, as males went, he didn't taste bad at all. She closed her eyes, just focusing on breathing and pleasing the studly Rito standing over her, her lips stretched wide like she had no doubts he'd make other parts of her stretch to fit later. She could feel the warmth between her legs growing, and quietly rubbed her thighs together, pleasing herself while she pleased the Rito.

She could feel her inner passage moistening, preparing her body for what it knew was coming soon with her arousal, the distinct scent of a feline in heat just detectable like an undertone to Kass's own scent, her muzzle rubbing the feathers around the base of his cock. She slurped on his maleness noisily, moaning around him as her tongue worked across his length with smooth, even strokes, the feline setting herself a tempo as she bobbed up and down on his avian rod.

"Shadi... Getting close..." Kass warned her, but she could already tell just by feeling his pulse against her tongue each time he twitched inside her mouth. Lords was he big though! Each time she managed to hilt him, her jaw ached from the stretch, and her airway was momentarily blocked completely, giving her a wonderful high as the lack of oxygen combined with her own subtle grinding made her body feel like all her nerves were heightened.

She whimpered as one of her paws reached down, dipping into the waistband of her pants. Her fingers were covered with hot and sticky almost right away, and the scent of heat was stronger. Her entire body trembled when the soft pad of her finger pressed down on her clit, giving her something to grind herself against as she worked to bring the Rito to his own completion, purring and moaning softly around him.

It was like sparks against her clit as she rubbed the stiff little nub beneath the leathery pad of her finger, her body quivering as she worked herself up, listening to Kass's huffing and grunts as the bird tried to keep himself at bay. Against her muzzle, he had no chance, and it only took listening to a few more of those wet smacks of her lips against the base of his length combined with that wicked tongue to get him over the edge. She drew back, suckling on his tip for a good, long moment as it twitched in her muzzle, and it all proved too much for the normally composed and collected Rito.

Kass exploded in her mouth like a cork popping off of a bottle, a hose of his cum filling her muzzle. Shadi swallowed quickly, desperately trying to keep up with the rapid flow, but after a few spurts, she couldn't, and it leaked back around the corners of her lips as she pulled back, gasping. Jets of the avian's climax giving her a messy facial across her lips and muzzle, which she lapped up eagerly.

Plunging a finger into herself as he came set her own orgasm off as well, and she moaned in ecstasy with Kass, letting herself fall to the grass with her paw buried between her thighs as she rode it out. Sticky cat cum soaked her fingers as she frigged herself into oblivion, Kass laying down behind her to hold her tightly against his chest as she came down, his feathered hand resting over the paw buried in her snatch.

"Easy Shadi... Don't force it, just enjoy it..." He trilled encouragingly, shifting her paw for her in ways that made her groan her pleasure to the world. His still twitching prick rested firmly beneath her tail, and she wriggled back, pushing her rump against him with a soft mewl of pleasure as her orgasm finally faded, leaving her sensitive and twitching, even as his feather's slipped under the hem of her trousers.

"Ahh,Kass! Stop- Or just..." She frowned, grabbing the end of his wing where his wrist would have otherwise been. "Just... Hold still a moment... Let me enjoy it..." She purred, wriggling herself back against his chest. She was warm now, but energized... She should have been finishing her painting, but...

Quietly, she reached down, laying her head on her tunic as she rolled her hips, hooking her thumbs into the waistband of her trousers just enough to snag and slowly slide them down her thighs, lifting her tail as she pressed her rump back against Kass's glistening shaft. A few beads of his pearly cum still clung to the tip, and reaching back, she took his length in her paw, slowly guiding it beneath her tail to the source of heat and pleasure hidden there.

"Think you can manage another big boy?" She asked, looking back over her shoulder with a seductive wink. Kass immediately leaned in and pressed his beak to her muzzle, and Shadi parted her lips with a moan as he kissed her, thrusting forward as he did to spear his shaft into her dripping cunt.

Tucking one wing beneath her, he shifted to pull her flush with his chest, rolling his hips upwards to drive his log of a cock deeper still, battering her cervix with his narrow, tapered tip.

"By Hylia you are a tease Shadi... At this rate, you're going to end up heavy by the next moon." He grunted, rocking his hips in a firm, steady rhythm. Despite finishing so recently, the Rito was clearly quick to recover, and Shadi could feel every twitch and throb as he hilted himself in her like a slightly too small glove. She could feel the way his breeder stretched her out, forced her body to spread around him and pushed her limits to their edge, and she loved every moment of it.

"Ahh~ Promises Kass. Words are meaningless if you can't back them up!" She taunted him naughtily, and got just the reaction she wanted. He grabbed her by the hips and around her waist, and fucked her harder. Someone was a pent up bird... Shadi mused, rocking herself back against him as she moaned out into the Rito's beak.

Even with his rough and hard thrusts though, Kass was still as gentle with her as his nature might have suggested, holding her to him and kissing her all the while, be it on her lips or down and along the edge of her throat. She arched against him, purring and huffing as he quickly brought her to another climax. It raced up on her like a horse in the dark, almost startling her with its intensity as she saw stars and clenched around him, barely slowing his rutting at all. She was so wet, more than ready for him, and her body knew just what it wanted as well.

So when the Rito's beak clutched the scruff on the back of her neck and yanked back, it almost surprised her. Her entire body tensed as her veins were flooded with endorphins and hormones, telling her womb that it needed to breed again, and the stud on her back was the one for the job. She let out a gasp as she came for a third time, letting out a feline mrowl of bliss as he hilted himself in her, what felt like a damned foot of Rito breeder snugly packed into her spasming sex while the world span around her.

Even through it though, she could feel the burning ache, the need of her body. A fire in her core that had only a single way to extinguish, and she reached back, bunching her fist in the feathers of his hip.

"Don't you dare think about pulling out now." She growled, shoving her hips back into him as he began throbbing inside of her, the big Rito huffing through his nostrils.

Any thought of contraceptives had long since fled her mind. Hell, she might have had Izyat's cub in her already, if his seed had truly taken, but if it hadn't yet, she was about to give it some competition. Felines were interesting like that. It wasn't uncommon for the village harlots back home to end up with a litter from three or more different males... Maybe she could return with her own mix to share...

"For you Shadi, never... If you want more than words, then that's what you'll have." The minstrel grunted behind her. She could feel him throbbing, knowing he was at his limit, and she gave a low purr of enticement.

"You want that boy Kass? You've got to put him there first..."

Kass certainly didn't disappoint, the Rito pulling her close as he thrust deep, the sort of uncoordinated, desperate thrusts men began when they were right at that point of no return. She could feel his tip hitting her cervix, throbbing hard... Maybe a few more thrusts at best and then-

Kass made it three more before he held himself as deep as he could reach, his hips flush to her rump as he unloaded weeks of pent up lust into Shadi's burning womb, quenching the fires of heat once again with a male's virile seed. She squirmed back against him, pulling him as deep as she could with her body clenching tightly around him. Warmth pooled in her belly, smothering the flames of her bite-brought heat.

His wings moved to her chest, one teasingly pinching one of her nipples between two of his finger feathers, the other caressing her belly softly, feeling each pulse as he gave the feline her fill, millions of virile and eager swimmers seeking out the fresh eggs his bite had forced her body into dropping. If Izyat had any surviving in her still... Well, they would certainly have to race the bird's copious load if they hadn't won already...

Shadi quietly rest her paw's atop Kass's wings, tilting her head back to kiss the side of his black beak tenderly. He certainly did make some pretty kids after all, though a pretty black cub would be nice... She couldn't decide in her head which she wanted more. Both, really.

"Mrhmm... This is why I love this country." She purred finally, once he had stopped throbbing within her. Looking down, she could have sworn her usually chubby belly had rounded slightly from the filling.

"Because there's always someone to keep you warm at night?"

"Well, I was going to say the view, but yes, among other things..." She giggled, giving his wing a soft squeeze.

"So... About my invitation... I know you meant to go to the Gerudo first, but... Rito Village is not far. Perhaps a detour for a few days first?" He suggested, fleaing her throat with the end of his beak affectionately. Clearly, he wanted her to accept, and Shadi would have felt bad if She'd not taken the chance to spend some more time with him...

Izyat had her all to himself for a week... And who knew... Maybe he would join them if she didn't go directly to the Arbiter's grounds... The thought of being trapped between the massive figure of Kass and the supernaturally large Keaton was...

She trembled a moment as her body went on edge, pushing back into Kass's hips with a soft moan. She slid forward and freed herself from his impalement, standing and letting his seed trickle messily down her thighs. With a motion, she tugged her trousers back up, grinning.

"Hmmm, and if I accept, what about your wife?"

"She's eager to meet the pretty feline keeping me company on my travels since I told her about you. I'm sure the two of you will get along swimmingly..." He chuckled, and Shadi's nose pinkened.

"Or you just want two women to keep you warm at night for a few days."

"I'll never tell." The Rito smirked, slowly standing up himself, his maleness retreating back inside it's protective home.

"Would you like some help with the finishing touches? I'm not much of an artist with paint, but I'm sure with a skilled hand to guide my wings-"

Shadi laughed, batting the amorous bird back with a swish of her tail.

"Maybe next time. I want this to be perfect... But, I wouldn't say no to your company and music?" She suggested, grinning as she donned her tunic.

Kass gave a nod, smiling from ear to ear as he fetched up his accordion, and slowly noodled out a soft melody, sliding in behind Shadi as she began to paint, colors flourishing to life on the canvas with each stroke.

Within her belly, the stirrings of life had already resulted in an extraordinary flourish of colour of its own once. As she lay there in her tent that night, with Kass nestled in behind her while she called out to the stars in bliss, the miracle occurred a second time...
