A wonderful Life-Spyro's continued story-ch.2
Silver lay awake, listening to the crickets chirping outside of the cave. At midnight she knew she would have to sneak out of her cave and meet Fire. She didn't know for sure what would be waiting for her when she snuck out later, but somehow she had a cold feeling of dread in her very soul. Finally after minutes that seemed to pass by like hours, Silver got up and walked out of the cave. What is going to happen when I get to the river. Silver thought as she approached the bushes. She picked up the scent of Fire. Somehow she wished that he wouldn't have shown up. Silver headed into the bushes and followed Fire's scent to a small clearing that would be hard to find if you didn't know where to go. Fire sat in the middle of the clearing waiting patiently. Silver walked up to him, "What?"
"I need to tell you something." Fire said nervously. "I've always thought you were very pretty."
"Umm, thanks." Silver didn't know if she should be flattered or not.
"ugh!" Fire unexpectacly let out a loud huff. "I love you!"
"But you can't love me!" Silver wailed. "Fern loves you."
"But i don't love Fern!"
Silver sat down impatienly. She just wanted this to be over with.
"Fine then can we at least mate so I can see if you will change your mind." Fire asked.
"Umm, -."
Suddenly the bushes behind them rattled. Silver gasped in horror as Fern ran into the clearing, her eyes streaming and glazed with sadness. "How could you!"
Silver started to explain but Fern cut her off,"No, never talk to me agan." She screamed before turning back into the bushes and flying away. Silver stared after in a dazed shock of sadness and grief. Have I really just lost my best friend.
She continued to stare into the bushes until she heard Fire shuffling uncomfortably behind her. Silver spun around, and gave Fire a hard stare of pure hatred. "WHY!? Why did you have to meet me. Well, you know what! I don't love you! I never will!!" she screamed. Silver ran through the bushes and headed home, only to fly into her bed and cry herself to sleep.
The next few days were torture. Her parents had noticed how she had become depressed but Spyro persuaded Cynder from pressing her daughter. At dragon training school Fern was avoiding her altogether. She started to hang out with Leaf and Silver felt completely alone. Silver had noticed that not long after she had exploded on Fire he had found a new girl he hung over. She would often see them cuddling together, and that would bring back up her hatred to him.
One day the class of dragons was taking a recess outside. All of a sudden a loud BOOM interupted the still air. All the dragons looked toward the source of the sound. The Volcano of Murcelus was errupting. Lave bubbled up over the rim of the volcano and was heading rapidly toward the dragons. Lime, one of the oldest dragons in the class yelled out, "Head for the dragon city. The lava won't be able to get us."
All at once the dragons turned around and headed for the city. Instinctly Silver looked around for Fern. She was running next to Leaf when suddnely her necklace got caught on a branch. Leaf stopped and looked at Fern to help her, but once she saw the lava that was gaining on them she turned and fled. Silver looked at Leaf in anger. How could a dragon do that. She quickly flew up to Fern who was gazing at the lava with a horid gaze of fright on her face. Silver cut off the part of the branch that was tangled in her necklace and yanked her free. Fern looked at the lava for a few seconds more and turned to fly away with Silver right next to her.
As soon as the 2 dragonesses arrived in the nearest building Fern slumped down and let out a big sigh. Then she looked up at Silver. "You saved me."
"Well of course I did! Your my best friend! Silver exclaimed. "But I gues I'm not yours.
"You are. You always were. But why did you did you go off with Fire. You knew I liked him." Fern asked.
"He asked me to come and I did. You came right when he asked if we could mate. I was going to say no. I swear! I would never do something like that to my best friend."
"I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry too. I should have came to you first." Fern and Silver hugged before going to join the crowd that was starting to join in the middle of the room.
Ignitus the leader dragon was talking. "Everyone has to meet in the Dragon Temple in 1 hour." Silver knew that the worried look in the dragon's eyes was a sign of trouble.
Will the dragons ever have peace.
