#33 of Sonic the Hedgehog

Cream the Rabbit was once a good little girl, but the twelve years that have passed had turned her into a troublemaking young woman. Her mother decides to leave her off at a friend's house, and that's where she gets to spend a weekend with Antoine and Bunnie D'Coolette. Can the young couple handle the tough job of keeping a teen in line?

I accept commissions. Just ask

"Thanks for taking Cream on such short notice," says a relieved Vanilla. "I really did want to take her to Casinopolis, but she proved that she isn't exactly ready for the experience." The rabbit places a hand on the shoulder of the young woman, who in a grumpy fit, grumbled as she kept her eyes glued to her phone.

Cream had grown up in the years since the defeat of Dr. Robotnik, maturing into a real young woman. She no longer dresses up in the cute dresses of her younger years, and instead opted for a tank-top and shorts for the summer.

"Aw, shucks, well, it ain't no big deal." Bunnie says, waving the young woman inside. "Come on, Cream, let's hustle on in. We can find ourselves our own kind of fun We don't need no bright lights or fancy shows to pass the time."

The rabbit shrugs and walks on inside, not taking her eyes off of her device.

"And remember, baby girl, Mommy will know everything you do, because Mrs. D'Coolette will tell her, isn't that right?"

"Sho' Nuff" says Bunnie. "But for this next weekend, yer momma's gonna not have to worry about yer teenage hormones, need to rebel, and other drama like that."

"Oh, that's the very reason she's not going," Vanilla says, nodding politely before the rabbits say their goodbyes.

With the door closed, Bunnie sighs, running a robotic hand over her head. "My, my, my, Cream... what did you do?"

Cream looks over her shoulder, making sure that the door is actually closed.

"Oh, don't you worry about no one hearing, little 'un, it's just us gals here. I won't tell no one if it's somethin' private!"

Cream sighs and pockets her phone. Running a hand over one of her ears, she speaks up. "Mom caught me in my room... alone, watching stuff."

Bunnie nods. "Say no more. Don't you worry. We won't be keeping a tight leash, but you will have to stay with us this weekend, 'cause we promised your momma."

Cream groans. There's no way this weekend is not going to be a total embarrassment.

Later that evening, the teen sits in the D'Coolette living room, her face buried in her device, as it had been for most of the afternoon. In the kitchen, well within sight, but out of whisper range of the living room, Mr. and Mrs. D'Coolette work on dinner for the three of them.

"I cannot believe that is the same Cream who had fought alongside us in the Robotnik War," says Antoine, measuring out the butter for his crepes.

"Yeah, well, we're all in a new world, right? First generation since our grandaddies to raise kids in peacetime. Though Vanilla had kept her pretty much away from all that mess for a while, Cream and the other little 'un's are all free to try out new experiences and not be worried about being thrown in a Roboticizer or drafted into the Egg Army," she says, using her cooking attachment to chop up vegetables with machine precision.

"Yes, that is true," Antoine responds. "However, I would not call her the 'little one,' now. Especially, since she is trying that kind of the experiments."

"Shucks, Twan..., she's basically a grown up. We married later'n most folks begin feelin' the need to take 'naps' in the bushes, but it wasn't strange for our grandpapy's grandpappies to marry when they were in their thirties or so, let alone go for a role in the hay."

"Well, I can see Vanilla, single mother in wartime, not knowing all the ins and the outs of the birds and the bees, but she of all people should have known about fooling around when she was younger."

"Hmm... yer right, Twan... and Cream is about that age, aint' she? Wonder what kind of upbringing Vanilla gave her in regards to family plannin' if she don't trust Cream to make the right decisions?

"Well, considering why she was punished to be here with us, I doubt that. Could you imagine how that conversation would go? 'Oh, Cream? Be a good girl and do not do what your mère

did!"

"Yeah, sex education in the Rabbit estate sucks."

The D'Coolettes spin around, and standing in the entryway is Cream. She sighs, her arms folded over her chest, which only serves to accent how her breasts had developed to surpass that of her mother's and one leg crossed over the other as she leans against the doorway."Ah, forgive us, young mademoiselle," Antoine says, placing a hand upon his chest and bowing. "We were speaking of things that were merely gossip."

"Gossip is when you talk about someone who isn't in the conversation," Cream says, standing up with her hand on her hip. "I'm right here. You want to talk about what's going on? I'll talk about what's going on."

"Cream, sug..."

"No," Cream snaps, stomping her foot and clenching her fists. "Mom has always treated me like a fragile little doll! I fought against Eggman plenty of times, and I even saved her sorry ass one time. Just because Cheese isn't around anymore doesn't mean I'm useless."

Antoine steps forward, reaching for her shoulders. "Ah, Cream, there are no more wars to fight. Once you hit the age requirements, I'd be happy to put in the words for you at the garrison, so you can find the action you seek."

She rolls out of his grasp and steps aside. "I don't care about fighting. I care about being able to do what I want. Mom's off having fun, and she's probably going off on her own so she can fuck someone without me knowing about it. But I know. I'm not an idiot. That's okay. I get it. She's lonely, but... but I'm lonely too. She won't let me figure things out. She won't talk to me about it. She won't even let me have a boyfriend or gi..." she trails off when she says that.

The married couple look at each other a moment, and then Antoine turns off the stove. "Ah, Cream, you are... feeling the draw of love, are you not?"

"Love? As if. I just... I just want to get out there. Have fun. I mean, Walker's Sake, I'm a rabbit. It's in my nature to... to..."

"I understand completely, Cream," says Bunnie, who places her hands on the rabbit's shoulders. "You got the itching to experience all the thrills of life, including the ones we all want to feel at one point or another. Well, you realize if you just run off and find the wrong person, it could be dangerous."

"She doesn't want me stuck with a brat like she was..." Cream says, sighing, her shoulders shaking, her lips quivering.

"No, no, no no...!" Antoine shouts, running up to the other side of Cream and embracing her. "You must think like that. Your mother, well, she loves you more than anything. That is why she made sure you were in hands of those who care about you..." Cream blinks, looking to both of the couple. "I... you guys... Miss Bunnie, Mister Antoine...?"

"Shh..." Bunnie says, leaning in, giving Cream a peck on the forehead. "No need to be so formal. You ain't a little kid no more."

"Indeed," says Antoine. "In fact, you have blossomed into the beautiful woman--one who should make her own decisions.

"Bu... but you said I shouldn't just go off and have sex with just anyone...?"

The two smirk, not evening having to say anything to each other. "Well, now," says Bunnie. "We said you shouldn't be having sex with the WRONG people. We didn't say anything about not foolin' around with people you already know..."
