#1 of Big Brother Furry Edition

It's a house like no other: where ninety-two cameras capture their every move and one hundred microphones capture their every word. This is the Big Brother house. Tonight, fourteen strangers will move into the house, cut off from the outside world, with only one goal in mind: to be the last one standing. While inside, they will compete for special privileges including who to nominate to leave the game. Each week, the house will vote to evict one of their own until only one remains to claim the grand prize: five hundred thousand dollars.

The Big Brother house is a one-story tall building on the outskirts of Los Angeles, California. Through the front door and to the right is the living room. Two large purple sofas surround two bright orange chairs. A desk sits at the head of the room with a mailbox sticking out of the wall. Continue forward and there are two doors to the right. The first one is the Diary Room, where the Houseguests can vent out their thoughts every day and is also the room where they will secretly vote every week. The second door is the storage room, complete with a large fridge and cabinets on the ground and mounted above. This room is where food will be provided each week. However, there's only a set amount so those living in the house shouldn't eat everything too early because if they run out, they'll be on basic rations until the next week.

The bedrooms are further down the hall. The first bedroom is out in the open, set with two two-person beds and a couch. Another room with two beds sits on the left and across from the open space is a room with four one-person beds. That's enough space to house at most thirteen people. The fourteenth space is in the other direction. Past the kitchen area, with a large table big enough to give everyone wiggle room. Down this particular hallway at the end is the bathroom where Houseguests are free to shower and use the restroom; truly the only room in the house that's one hundred percent private. There's two doors in this hallway. The one on the right leads to a seperate hangout room.

The one on the left, however is locked. That's because inside is a special room; fitted with a king-sized bed, a table, and a couch. One Houseguest each week will win the privilege of getting this room. It's called the Head of Household room. At the beginning of each week, everyone except the outgoing HoH will take part in a special task. The winner becomes the new HoH and will get to have their own room for seven days. However, with the Head of Household position comes the responsibility of nominating two of their housemates for eviction. At the end of the seven day period, everyone except the HoH and the two nominees will vote to evict one of the nominees from the house. The person with the most votes must leave the game, ending their chances of winning the grand prize for good.

To win, these fourteen strangers will have to survive the power struggle for twelve weeks, and in the end, the last player left in the house will win a half-million dollars. So, who are these strangers? And how did the first week of the game play out? Let's take a look.

***

The first person to enter the house was a big orange tiger wearing overalls and a green hat that was on backwards. As he took a look around, he quickly padded over to the bedrooms to claim a spot, knowing he wasn't going to be alone for long. He took the couch in the open room. It was a much better improvement over the bunk bed back home. He heard the door open again and rushed back out.

"Hello?" called out a new voice. The tiger came out and saw a tall raccoon in a bright yellow dress. He offered to carry her belongings; her bag looked heavy. "Thank you! I'm Becky, nice to meet you."

"Ayden, it's good to meet you too." He stuck a paw out and she shook it. Inside, he was sweating. Ayden was the cousin of Toby Tiger, who was in the Amazing Race and made it all the way to the Final Two. The last thing he wanted was for people to find out this secret and make him an immediate target.

For Becky, something about her new roommate seemed a little familiar but she couldn't put her paw on it. For now, though, she smiled and walked around with this guy. He seemed nice enough.

The front door opened again. This time, an otter wearing a black turtleneck and square-framed glasses came in. The first thing Ayden and Becky noticed about him was how short he was compared to them. Had to have been at least a foot shorter. But he still shook paws with both of them. "Charlie," he said. He didn't say much else. What neither of them knew was that Charlie was a professional swimmer and had actually been training for an Olympic event prior to the show. "Can you show me around?"

"Absolutely," Becky said.

A minute later came the fourth housemate; a lion. "What's up everybody?!" he roared. Though he sounded aggressive, there was a great big smile on his face as he embraced everyone one at a time. Dimitri was his name and he was a wrestling coach for his high school. Despite the stigma of most coaches wearing sweatpants and sweaters, he came into the house bearing a white tuxedo. Becky thought the pink rose tucked into his pocket was a little tacky.

One by one, the Houseguests came into the house. Next was a cougar with a gold ring in her right ear, jeans, and a football jersey. It had a large number 14 on both sides. She was clearly a tomboy, but Elise would never reveal to her fellow housemates that the jersey was actually her's. Elise had been into football since eighth grade and had actually been drafted into the NFL right before she auditioned for Big Brother. For now, she just let everyone believe that she was only a fan and nothing more.

A big grey wolf in a navy blue hoodie and khaki pants came in next. It was crazy trying to meet everyone at once since there were five others already. "Hi, I'm Fisher," he said to anyone with an outstretched hand. He was already sizing up his competition. He liked the big tiger (Hayden, was it?) and the foxy raccoon. The cougar was giving him a weird impression however. Fisher couldn't tell; there was just something strange about her.

Next up was an arctic fox wearing glasses, jeans, and a white t-shirt. He had a tough time going inside the house but he already told himself to tough it out. His heart raced as he shook paws with everyone. He didn't like being touched very much; the idea of contact of any kind was enough to make him sweat. At least he was able to get his name out. "Jessie."

"You alright, Jessie?" Becky asked.

"F-Fine. Why do you ask?" He mentally slapped himself because he didn't want to stutter.

"You just seem a little anxious is all."

"Oh... I'm just... excited is all." Jessie gave his best smile. Luckily Dimitri got in his face next and he was easier to talk to.

"Hellooooo!" Jessie heard the loud, flamboyant skunk as she walked in next. She was wearing a hot pink polo shirt, which matched her mane which was obviously dyed the same color. She instantly went over to the other girls and started chatting away. Her name was Jo, from South Carolina. "Fun fact about me is that I'm a bowling teacher." Elise and Becky seemed impressed by this. Jo was impressed that they were buying into it. She was not a teacher but actually a three-time bowling champion. But these people didn't need to know that she was stronger than she looked.

The first thing Jordan noticed when the panther walked into the house was how huge most of the guys looked and how small the women were compared to them. He smiled and greeted everyone. When the tiger hugged him hello, Jordan got a good look at him. Later in the Diary Room, Jordan would say, "I swear, Ayden looks really familiar. I know I've seen that type of build on him and I've heard his voice before. I just can't recall where." It was going to be a head-scratcher for him.

Next up was a dalmatian. She had on a white blouse to match her fur and pink sunglasses propped at the top of her head. More than likely she would give off the type of vibe that comes from Miami girls but when she talked, she had a northern accent. "I'm Lola, good to meet you." She remembered meeting the cougar first and all she thought was that Elise had a very firm grip. She looked around at the other girls and without even talking, she knew that she would fall in love with Becky, Elise, and Jo. Plus, Ayden was on the sidelines looking cute.

Lynn walked into the house next. She was a red fox, the tip of her tail being snowy white. She had on some weird purplish and flashy shirt with a pair of skinny jeans. Jessie would later comment in the DR, "Lynn? Kinda looks like an extra from the movie Footloose. The remake, not the original." Even though Lynn wasn't much of a dancer, she was a singer, which won't be very useful in this game but it is fascinating to know.

Most of the guys would look back and say that Mayson's entrance was a bit of a surprise. He didn't do anything extracurricular, he came in with a big smile and happily shook paws and hugged everyone, it was the fact that Mayson was a sun bear. He was the tallest one in the house, taller than Ayden by a few inches. He was also the biggest in the house. His grey shirt was big enough to cover up his gut, but it still showed off a little bit. Dimitri and Jordan didn't think Mayson stood much of a chance in this type of environment. Then again, there was such thing as a show where people like Mayson got larger on purpose so who knows?

Despite Jessie's timid nature, he would admit later on that the Houseguest that really got his eyes wide open was Stephanie. She was a snow leopardess. When she walked inside, she had on a skirt and a sky blue shirt. She was stunning, beautiful even. Jessie had a hard time talking to her because of this, but he managed to spit out his name. "Nice to meet you, I'm Stephanie." She shook his paw, but Stephanie had a weird feeling about him. He wasn't very good at talking, though she supposed it was cute because she thought it meant he liked her.

Last but not least was a tall-looking husky in a blue silk dress. Her tail was bobbing around and wagging quickly as she quickly got around to say hi to everyone. "Everyone here doesn't know I'm a huge Big Brother fan," Vivian said in the DR later. "My strategy coming in was to absolutely play dumb. Like I'm not a threat to the boys, I'm just ditzy little Vivian walking around having a fun time." She giggled. To really sell her point, when she got a glass of champagne with the others, she purposely knocked the glass on the bottom of her muzzle then laughed it off like it was nothing.

After introductions and everyone sat down and got a seat on the couch for an introductory toast, everyone already knew that the show has officially began and it was game on.

In the hangout room, Becky, Elise, and Jo sat with each other, talking. "I have to ask," Jo said, "but is that just for show is that your real football jersey?"

Elise grinned and looked down at the large number 14 on her stomach. "Well, I wasn't going to tell anyone about it but yeah. It's mine. I was drafted last year. It was pretty exciting."

"Nice!" Becky exclaimed. "I'll be honest with you guys too: I'm actually a financial advisor for my local community college so I'm pretty good with numbers and being able to process information in my head." The raccoon was enjoying this talk. Once everyone was in the house, she felt the strongest bond with these other ladies. It was starting to feel like they felt the same way.

Elise certainly was. The cougar was the first one to speak up about talking strategy. "Have you noticed some of the stronger guys in the house?" she asked. "You've got the big tall tiger, the large muscular bear. These are the type of people that will steamroll their way to five hundred thousand."

"Preach, girl." Jo was nodding her head.

"Exactly! So I was thinking, we try to go for this first HoH and we put two of them up. I want to start seeing the girls power through these type of games." Elise wasn't aware during her rant that there were a pair of footsteps near the door. "Let's try to send the guys home."

Fisher froze in his tracks on the way to the bathroom. The wolf wasn't sure that he heard them correctly, but when he ran Elise's voice through his head multiple times, it became clear that was exactly what she said. "Woah," he said in the DR, "these people haven't been in the house for an hour and already they're talking strategy? And Elise is trying to send the guys home? Originally, I was going to lie low for a while, but after hearing that... I don't think so. I'm not about to let these women take control so easily." For now, he kept this piece of information to himself.

In the kitchen, some of the guys were talking about their lives back home. Ayden was the first to ask what everyone did. Apparently Charlie was still in college, which was impressive considering how young he seemed. "I was actually a teacher as well before I realized my strength was better suited for construction work," Mayson said.

"How about you, little man?" Dimitri asked Jessie.

The fox mostly stared at the table while he answered. "Oh, I'm a student. I'm... currently going for a bachelor's in Physics with a minor in Psychology." He kept rubbing his paws together, Ayden noticed.

"Interesting. So we have the brains, the brawns, and pretty boy over here." Dimitri punched Ayden in the shoulder and the two got a chuckle out of it. Sometime during the conversation, Fisher came over and chimed in about his life back home on the basketball court. But deep down, the wolf was dying to tell the others about what he overheard in the cabana room. Not now, he decided. But soon enough.

Vivian and Stephanie were talking in the back bedroom. The former was sipping down the last of her champagne. "What do you think about everyone?" the husky asked.

"Obviously there are a few that are tall, dark, and handsome," Stephanie asked, referring to Ayden and Dimitri specifically. "But if we're really going to get into things, I personally think Jessie's pretty adorable." The leopardess blushed, and she didn't know why. There was something about the fox that seemed sweet. Stephanie was determined to try to get him to come out of his shell this summer. Vivian thought she could've done better, but she wasn't about to say that out loud.

After a while, Becky came into the room and sat down to talk with the ladies. At first, Vivian assumed she was going to join in on the boy talk, but instead, she switched the topic of the conversation. "I know it's probably not right to talk game so fast but I would personally feel so much better if a girl won HoH." Both other ladies perked their ears at this. "Elise and Jo are already on board with the plan. We want to try to win this to keep ourselves safe. Sisters before misters, am I right?"

"Mhm," Stephanie agreed.

"You said it," Vivian said aloud. In the DR, however, she sounded annoyed. "Of course it's a dumb plan! Playing too hard too fast never works out in this game. If Becky and the others seriously believe that I'm going to be a part of this, then they're complete fools."

After their conversation was over, all three of them headed back out into the kitchen area to continue socializing. Fisher noticed them walking together as he sat at the dining table. All he could think was how amazing it was that the girls were rallying together quickly. Which meant that the guys were in danger and in desperate need of this first HoH. If it was the last thing he did, he will make sure a woman goes home first.

Later that day, Lynn came out of the Diary Room wearing a red robe with a crown on top of her head. "Hear ye! Hear ye! It's time for the first Head of Household competition of the summer! Everyone get in your gear and head out to the backyard!"

Outside were fourteen different stands, one with each person's face on it with a pedestal four feet away. Each stand also had a flat metal crown and a sword that looked flimsy. All of the houseguests were changed into a red robe, anticipating the first game of the season. Lynn had everyone gather around next to the sliding glass doors so she could read the instructions out loud.

"Welcome to your first HoH competition of the summer. Here is how it works: each houseguest will stand on their pedestal and keep a crown on top of the head of their standee by using the sword provided. But be careful! If your crown falls off your head at any point, you will be eliminated. The last houseguest standing will be crowned the first Head of Household of the summer. Who's ready to play King Me!?"

The group broke and everyone headed to their standee. Fisher knew that the guys needed this, but none of them had any idea. Elise, Becky, Jo, and Stephanie were all thinking the same thing: make sure one of them wins so they can control the game first. The houseguests were given two minutes to pin the metal crown at the top of their standees then get on their pedestal a few feet away. With some struggle, everyone managed to get on without too much incident.

Right away, everyone knew this was going to be a challenge. Trying to hold something up off the ground with something as weak as a plastic sword was difficult. You had to keep your arm pushed out and steady, even the slightest movement could make the crown fall off.

For Mayson, he was a bigger guy, which meant that keeping his arm held out and steady was not easy. Gravity was already becoming his worst enemy within the first five minutes. He knew he wasn't going to last. He fell first. When his crown hit the ground, he stormed off to the side to take a seat on the couch in the corner. But in actuality, he wasn't mad because he didn't want to come off too strong too fast.

"This is not easy," Stephanie said. She was not the strongest woman in the house to say the least. In her eyes, there were far many other stronger woman that look like they could last for hours. The leopardess fell second. She just hoped that it didn't make her a target for whoever won.

Five minutes stretched to twenty. This was when the competition was starting to become serious. Jo fell off when her arm collapsed. "Look," she would later say, "I may be a lot of things, but I don't got any strength. And that game was way harder than it looked."

Becky and Elise were a little disappointed that two girls fell already, but they were also worried. That meant there were less women left in the game. So the raccoon and cougar focused on nothing but keeping this crown up on their standees' heads. Some of their arms were becoming sore from the effort. Ayden was even visibly sweating by the time a half hour passed. To the tiger, it didn't matter who won the first HoH because he felt that he was in a good position in the game as to where he felt safe. But he wasn't going to fall too early because then it'd look like he was throwing it.

Another crown falls. And Becky felt defeated when she realized it was hers. "Crap," he said in the DR. "I was so focused on seeing how my competition was doing that I loosened my grip." She went over to where the other losers were. Mayson offered a hug when she sat down. She happily took it.

Elise was annoyed. Great. Now I have to win this to save all of our butts. I'm. Not. Letting. Go.

Fisher let his fall next deliberately. "I don't want to be the first HoH. That would get too much blood on my hands," the wolf explained later. "But Ayden, Dimitri, Charlie are all still up there so I feel confident that one of them can take this." He played it off that he was upset when he went to sit with everyone else, even though he couldn't be happier.

It didn't surprise anyone when Lynn fell next. The red fox thought she could hold on longer, but her biceps were on fire and at that point, she felt that she did good enough as to where she was a decent enough player. Right now, she wanted to adapt the floater strategy, where she didn't do anything and didn't come off as a threat to anyone.

When the seventh person fell (Jordan) the rules began to change. For the remaining seven, there were only allowed to use one paw to hold up their sword. At no time may the other paw grip the handle. If it did, they would be disqualified.

"Yikes, this makes it a lot tougher," Dimitri remarked. He chose his right paw. It was aching enough already, but he thought he could psych himself out by pushing through the pain. The lion has been wrestling for ages, so he was used to dealing with pain for days at a time. This however, was definitely something else.

Lola had a hard time after the rule change. Even though she's been in plenty of rough situations growing up in Florida, nothing could prepare her for this. The dalmatian fell next, leaving only six in the running.

Only two women were left holding up their crowns. Vivian, who had no plans to become the first HoH, and Elise, who felt that she absolutely needed this in order to keep the girls safe. The guys were looking very solid. Jessie was not even budging. Dimitri was shaking a little, but he was doing his best. Charlie was surprised that he made it this far considering he has smaller hands than everyone else; not a lot of strength going on there.

Ayden starting thinking about his family back home and how he knew they wanted to see him succeed in this game. After his cousin started coming to mind, he accidentally lost his grip on the sword and the crown fell off his head. Oh well, he thought. Fisher, on the other hand, was getting worried. If the last three guys dropped, they would all be in trouble. He decided that this would be the perfect moment to speak up.

The wolf got up from his seat. "Come on Dimitri, Charlie. You guys got this. Don't stop now." Those still in the game were wondering what Fisher was trying to do. Dimitri was trying his damndest to focus his strength on his paw. It wasn't easy to do with someone shouting across the yard. "Listen you two, you need to win this! Elise said it herself that she wants to send the guys home! I heard it myself!"

Elise felt her heart drop after hearing Fisher expose her plans. "Come on, are you really going to listen to that kid?" she asked, trying to shift the focus. No way was she going to become the house target after only a day. "I never said that."

"Dimitri, I love you, my friend. Don't fall." Fisher wouldn't let Elise outtalk him. As far as he was concerned, she was a dangerous threat and she needed to be taken out. All of the shouting that was going on gave Vivian the perfect alibi. She loosened her grip and her crown tumbled to the ground. The husky pouted and walked off to join the rest of the group. But secretly, she was a bit relieved. She felt that no matter who won, she was more than likely not going to be the target.

Dimitri was processing all of this information in his mind. If Fisher was to be trusted, then that meant him and Charlie had to pull this win through. But before he could ask the otter what he thought, he heard a familiar crash over by Charlie's standee and he knew that he was out of the game.

"It's down to the final three!" Lynn announced. "Dimitri, Elise, and Jessie!" She was as shocked as the rest of the house was that Jessie was still up there and he still hasn't moved a muscle. Dimitri and Elise both had a mean look on their face, both of them determined to take the win from the other.

It was a nail-biter. And as the competition surged past the 100-minute mark, the rules changed yet again. This time, the houseguests had to keep their free arm in a side pocket; no more supporting the arm holding up the crown. Sweat was pouring down their foreheads, from the stress of their muscles and the tension of the game.

Dimitri had noticeably bigger arms, which was a disadvantage for him because it meant that it would be difficult for him to continue without that support. He fought as hard as he could, pushed with all his might. Do not let that crown fall. Then, once the two hour mark came, his arm gave out. The wrestling coach was out.

Now it was down to the last two left in the game: Elise, the football player, and Jessie, the student. All Jessie could think about was not moving. "I want to win this," he told the DR. "If I win... I prove that I'm... n-not just some stuttering, socially awkward person. I-I'm a strong player!" Elise just thought that the kid next to her was scrawny as hell, but she'll be damned if she lost this game to him. It was time to start making a deal.

"Hey, Jess, if you fall now, I'll keep you safe." Becky and Fisher both perked up when they heard this. Jessie didn't answer her; he kept his focus by reciting Physics equations to himself. The cougar wasn't getting anywhere with him. Maybe if she sweetened the pot a little bit. "How about I let you keep another person safe; your choosing, of course."

That got Jessie's attention. Keep anyone safe he wanted? He shuffled through the list of people in the house. If he won, he'd be able to keep anyone he wanted safe, but if he got this HoH, it meant he wouldn't be able to compete in the next one. Bigger picture: Jessie wanted to keep himself out of trouble and if letting Elise win meant he wouldn't be in any danger this week, there was no point in going on. Plus, both of them were very tired from holding their arm up for two hours.

Fisher was on the sidelines, holding his head in his paws. "No, no, no, no," he muttered. Yes, yes, yes, yes, Becky thought.

Finally, Jessie said, "Ayden. I want Ayden safe."

His words broke the awkward silence. The cougar's heart started to pump fast. "Absolutely. He's good. You're both okay this week." Just fall, damn it.

With a slight breath and quiver, Jessie let go of his sword. His crown off with a clack. Elise let go a second later, but with a bright grin on her face.

Most of the ladies ran up to her, screaming for joy and hugging her tight. "It's a great honor to present to you, the key to your new room." Lynn held out the HoH key to Elise, who happily accepted it. The women had control of the house this week, which meant that a guy was for sure going home first. Sorry boys, but this house belongs to us girls.

Ayden went up to Jessie, giving him a hug. As he did, he whispered in his ear, "Why did you want me safe?"

"I'll answer everything later," the fox replied. Jessie would tell production later on, "I wanted Ayden safe because... he has a good s-social game going. And I don't think any of the women w-w-would put him up. So he seemed like a safe bet."

Fisher was greatly pissed off. The guys were so close to taking control. Now, he had to kiss a lot of behind this week if he wanted any hope of staying in the house. "Why would they keep me?" he asked later on. "I literally just threw Elise under the bus and now she's HoH... it's not looking good for me."
