Hey, just a note that I'm throwing in what the Guy's at the park say. So when I say park I means Skate Park and when I say skate I mean skate board. If you don't like this than too bad, You don't have a choice on this one. But, you can still send me ideas and stuff. And again please leave comments and supportive criticism. If Not I'm not going to get any better, which I really want to. Also tell me if you want the series to continue, because it won't if you don't.

Thanks, dante ftw.

Anatomy of a High School

Chapter 2: How to have an interesting day

Michael woke up blurry eyed trying to figure out where he was. He was lying on a bed too hard to be comfortable, in a room too sterile and white for even the biggest clean freaks in the school to enjoy.

He propped himself up on his elbow to take a look around the room. From the light filtering through the window at the end of the room, he could see to his left were shelves containing medical supplies which were dusty and old, also not looking very safe to use. He looked to the other side of the room to see a sink with soap and cupboards above containing more old looking medicine. After examining the contents on the shelves, and reasoning that he was in the schools' sick room, he turned to the corner were guests were supposed to stay.

Michael was shocked to see the same wolf that had scared him early sitting on a fold out chair and was looking right at him with his icy blue eyes. His fur was blackish grey along his back and whitish beige up his front. The tips of his ears were completely black as if he had dipped them into a vat of ink. He wore olive green board shorts that fell just bellow his knees, and a white button up tee shirt.

"How are you?" The wolf asked while getting up from the chair. At his full height the wolf was more than a full foot taller than Michael was. He looked strong enough to punch through a brick wall yet spoke gently and concerned.

"Me?" Michael asked lamely. The wolf nodded. "Ohh... uhh... I'm fine." He lied to the wolf. At the back off his head where he had hit the ground he was starting to feel a growing pain. He also knew he would have to deal with for the rest of the day.

"Are you sure? You've been out for almost fifteen minutes, and to do that you have to hit your head pretty hard."

"I'll probably have a headache later, but that can be fixed with some Tylenol."

"Okay then." He said in defeat. "After you hit the floor I decided to bring you here, because you were out cold."

"And Mr. James didn't say anything about you carrying an unconscious kid through the gym and out the doors?"

"Oh yeah he did. In fact he thought I was attempting to kidnap you or something. Although, I don't know what I would have done with you if I was trying to. Anyways he told me that he would press criminal charges unless you said that it wasn't my fault that you were knocked out."

Michael thought for a second "that probably means that you're not supposed to be here, right?"

The big dog bit his lip for a second and then agreed.

"Well, you should get back to where ever you're supposed to be or else you will probably get in trouble."

"But..."

Michael shushed him. "I can cover for both of us, but you have to get out before someone walks in to see that there isn't just a random teen in here. Besides I probably just slipped on some water."

"And how would you know this?" the wolf Questioned.

"First off, for me to land the way I landed, my feet would have had to come out from under me, hence why I was out for fifteen minutes. Secondly nobody ever comes to school for their first day just to draw attention to himself, especially not a fur like you."

The wolf looked at Michael questioningly.

"Don't worry," Michael assured him, "I'm not the type of person to hate on someone just because their different."

This seemed to reassure the wolf.

"By the way I never did catch your name."

"My name's Kyle," he replied quickly.

"Hello Kyle my name is Michael." He said as he shook Kyles' hand.

Just then the two of them heard voices outside of the room. "Don't worry," Michael said "I'll handle this."

Kyle nodded then jumped out the window that was covered by shades.

The School nurse walked into the room followed by Mr. James who opened up the blinds covering the window so he could see out of it. "Hello Michael," the nurse said sweetly while checking something on her clip board. "How are you feeling?"

"I'm feeling fine, thank you." Michael replied automatically.

"That's good, but I think that you should probably take this Tylenol later when your head dose start to hurt." She handed Michael a small zip-lock baggy with three capsules of Tylenol in it. Michael took it knowing he was going to need it later.

"Thank you." He said nicely.

At that moment Mr. James, turned towards Michael. "So, what happened in the change room?"

"I slipped on some water on the floor and hit my head on the ground," Michael replied coolly as he started to get up off the bed.

"The wolf didn't do anything to you?" he asked.

"There was a wolf in there? I didn't even know."

"Really?" Mr. James didn't look convinced.

"Really, I didn't even know there was anyone in there. You had said that everyone had changed, and that they were already out in the gym. "

After a few seconds, Mr. James spoke again. "You have been excused from today's gym class, and you don't have a detention at lunch." He then walked through the door and headed back to the gym.

Huh, Michael thought to himself, looks like my lucks starting to change.

"When can I go?" he asked the nurse who was still checking her clipboard.

"Anytime. Just don't leave school grounds until lunch, okay?"

"No problem," he said as he walked out of the room.

Michael went to his math class. "Hey Michael, over here!"

Michael looked to the back right corner of the room to see Tristan waving him over. Tristan was the same height as Michael, slimmer and sat rigid in his chair. His sandy blond hair covered his eye brows which were perched just above his glistening hazel eyes.

"What happened in gym?" Tristan asked as Michael walked closer. "I heard that you got knocked out. There are a lot of rumours going around saying that the fur did it to you. Then there are rumours saying that you did it to yourself so you could get him kicked out as soon as possible. I wanted to know from you because it happened to you."

Tristan looked inquisitively at Michael, who replied "none of the rumours are true. When I walked into the change rooms I slipped on some water and fell. He had just happened to be there so he had decided to take me to the sick room." Michael looked back at Tristan who looked relieved.

"That's really good. If you were plotting to get someone expelled, furry or not, I don't know if I could look at you as my friend anymore. And I'm glad that he wasn't plotting on killing people the first day he was here."

"I agree, I don't think I could have seen myself as a decent person either, and I don't know how much I would like the person who had attempted to kill me." He replied, relieved to see that Tristan didn't have the same views on Kyle as Chris and Greg had on him.

Michael felt eyes on him. Staring at him as if his shirt had hidden answers to life written on it, (which it didn't). Being unnerved by the presence staring at him he turned around to see who it was.

He met the gaze of Kyle in the opposite corner who quickly looked down at his binder. "It really would have been scary to know that a killer was in the same class as me'" Tristan piped seeing how Michael looked at Kyle. "But since he isn't a murdering monster it's all okay."

"Yep, absolutely, nothing to worry about," Michael said coolly.

The class went quickly as the students worked on trinomial equations. Students occasionally raising their hand to get help or an explanation from the teacher. Michael only felt the prying stares of Kyle a few times, always with him looking at Kyle who looked down and didn't acknowledge that he was looking at Michael. Each time Michael would look back for a few seconds before turning to the front and continuing with his work.

The last time he did it was close to the end of the class, and Michael had his work finished so he decided that he would talk to Kyle to see what was bothering him. As he walked to Kyles' desk, he noticed that he looked nervous and anxious. He would ask him about that too.

As he was about to greet Kyle the bell for lunch interrupted him and Kyle ran out of the back door as if to avoid a diseased person up at the front. That's odd, He thought to himself,I would have pounced on the chance to talk to a person that I was staring at all class. Michael then picked up his binders and left.

He went to his locker and put his binders in it simultaneously pulling his skate and lunch out. He closed his locker, sighed, and started walking to the park.

As he drew closer, he saw Chris and Greg already warming up. They were doing small stuff on the street section, which included: kick flips, pop shuvits, 180's, 50-50's and 5-0's on the small boxes and board slides on the small flat bar. Michael dreaded having to face his friends like this.

He walked onto the smooth concrete of the skate park and was greeted by his friends. They immediately started to ask him if the rumours were true and also asked if they were going to have to knock Kyle out.

"Guys could you please lay off about him," Michael said. "No, he didn't knock me out and no, you don't have to knock him out. In fact I want you guys to be nice to him. He's probably having a rough first day and he's a good guy. Imagine if you guys were going to an all fur school for your first day." Michael looked up at his friends as they thought about this. "He's experiencing the same thing but backwards. Besides what did he do to you guys to deserve this treatment?"

"What about In the Change room?" Chris asked solemnly.

"I slipped on some water and fell." Michael replied.

"Then why did he carry you out of the change room?" Greg retorted.

"He was taking me to the sick room," Michael answered coolly. "How do I know? I took the time to talk to him about it. Now I just wish that you guys would be nice to him. Is that so much to ask?"

They looked like they were going to protest but broke down and said Okay. Then Greg started to giggle.

"What's so funny?"

"You sounded exactly like my mom!" said Greg, and after hearing this they all busted out laughing.

After calming down, Michael asked, "so what are we skating this lunch?"

"Well..." Chris responded, "I think that we should get ourselves acquainted with the new mini vert that some people D.I.Y.-ed over the weekend."

"You mean that two foot vert thingy over by the mini Quarter?" Michael asked.

"Yep." Chris replied.

"That thing looks so sketchy. I'm totally down for it." Said Michael as he pushed his way over to it.

The rest of school went pretty smoothly for Michael. After getting back from the skate park he went to his band class, which he noticed that Kyle wasn't in. Michael was slightly happy that he wouldn't have to deal with staring at his back for the class and enjoyed playing his baritone saxophone.

His next class was History and Kyle was in it too. Michael was a bit worried that Kyle would stare at him like he did in math, but that wasn't a problem because Kyle seemed to be wrapped up in his work just as much as he was. This also meant that he wouldn't be able to talk to him because Michael had too much work. I'll talk to him tomorrow thought Michael as the last bell rang and he walked off to his locker, just not now.

Michael again got his skate from his locker. He also grabbed his backpack and dumped his books in it. He closed his locker and headed to the park. Getting there he discovered that Chris and Greg had been joined by Brody who was trying to rock n' roll the mini vert. Michael decided to help him learn it.

Half an hour later after Brody had successfully landed a rock n' roll and an axel stall Michael was helping him learn how to feeble It. He gave Brody a few more pointers before he took another run at it. Brody was able to lock into it, but not quite able to pop back into the ramp having to jump the two feet or so to the ground.

"You nearly have it," Michael said approvingly. "All you have to do is pivot a little farther when you come back in and to commit." He looked at the road and saw Kyle walking along the sidewalk. He wasn't looking at him or any of the skaters, but it also didn't look like he was in much of a rush. "Hey Brody, I'll meet you back at the house, okay? Tell Chris and Greg that I'll see them tomorrow."

He didn't give his brother the chance to ask why and started to follow Kyle at a distance. Time to follow the new kid around town like a creeper, He thought, disgusted with himself.

He followed Kyle for three blocks until he saw that Kyle had stopped. Michael dived into some bushes on the side of the sidewalk and started to get closer. When he was about twenty feet away he saw what was going down.

"We don't like your kind in this town."

Holy crap, that's Marc. Michael thought Knowing that the situation had suddenly gone bad and was deteriorating to worse. Marc was like your average high school bully, but way worse. He led a gang of bullies that called themselves the "bully coordination cult" or the B.C.C. for short. To get in you have to beat up a kid, kick him while he's down and steal their wallet. They did nasty stuff to the people they bullied. Students have moved away, had gone to the hospital for a week, and they even forced a kid to take what he thought was his last option. These teens didn't fuck around, and almost three quarters had records and had been to prison.

Marc himself, was bulky, had a shaved head and stooped over six feet tall. He had dark brown eyes and spoke with a slightly French accent. "Do you know what we do to people or animals we don't like? We make them bleed. We make them want to move away somewhere else. We make them want to die. You made the wrong move to come here and now we're gonna make sure you Know."

Marc was leading three bullies with base ball bats. One of them handed an extra one to him and they started to approach Kyle.

Michael jumped out of the bushes between the gang and Kyle. "Stop!"

The bullies stopped. Marc looked at him and half smiled. "We have another bat if you want to join."

"Leave Kyle alone," Michael continued knowing what would follow, would probably hurt.

Marc looked at him, examining him. After a few seconds Marc said, "I don't think anyone in the cult has targeted you before." He looked to his peers than back at Michael. "If you get out of the way, we can keep it like that."

Michael closed his eyes and pinned them tightly together. "I can't let you do this."

"Are you sure? You will not have another chance to become bully proof while in high school."

Michael felt the words bouncing off of him. Each one stung. "Leave him alone."

Marc examined him for another stressful few seconds before replying. "Suit yourself." He signalled for the bullies to back off and they started to walk down the street as a group.

Michael opened an eye to examine around him, expecting to get punched in the face. When he noticed that marc was leaving he let out a loud and exasperated sigh. That couldn't have gone any smoother, he thought, but now my life is going to be a living hell.

He took a look at Kyle. "Oh my god... you just saved my life." He said looking stunned. "Were you following me?!"

Michael blushed slightly. "It was for a good reason. Besides you're new to the school and could probably use some friends."

Kyle combed down. "You're right," he said quietly, looking down at his feet. It's been a scary first day and I'm glad that someone is willing to risk a beating for me."

"How far away do you live from here?" Michael asked as he groped in the bushes for his skate.

"About a block and a half," He said as he pointed in the direction of Michaels' house.

"Perfect, I live about three houses up from you so we can walk together." Michael started walking in that direction. He had a lot of questions but, decided that he didn't need to know the answers right now so they walked all the way to Kyles' house in silence.

When they got there Kyle turned to Michael. "Thanks for being a bit creepy and getting me out of a bit of a sticky situation."

"It's no problem," Michael replied. "Just talk to me at school. And we'll be fine."

Kyle moved closer to Michael and gave him a hug

"Hey, whoa..."

Before he could react He also kissed him. He let go of Michael and walked up to his house and entered through the front door.
