#3 of Accursed Dragon: Guardians of the four seasons

Coven gets to know his new "Family"

I do not own Accursed Dragon,

"Three....Dragon....Brothers." Coven said looking at the three before him. The only other Dragon Coven encountered was Ayari and Rastus, so meeting three other dragons were something else entirely.

"Yes, Each of these dragons symbolizes a season." The sage said before gesturing to the dragon. "Harvus, Dragon of Autumn, Who wields the power of wind." The orange dragon demostrated by conjuring a small orange dust devil in the palm of his hand.

"Photo, Dragon of Summer, Able to use his connection with life itself to command flora." Photo yawned before a small green vine emerged from the ground behind him and began to scratch at his back.

"That's the spot." Photo said easing into the scratching.

"And Drench, Dragon of Spring, Able to command the power of rain and water to rejuvenate the land and drown out evil." The violet dragon began to blush at the sage's introduction.

"And finally, The Dragon of Winter, The vessel of the Elderdragon Rastus. Coven." The sage said causing Coven to look at him uncomfortably. "With you as their leader, you'll raise up and strike Despond down for you are the Guardian-"

"Stop right there." Coven said suddenly, causing the group to stare at him. "Where does a "We" fit in this speech?"

"Pardon?" Chronos asked. Confused and definitely not liking where this was going.

"I'm done sticking my neck out for other people!" Coven said stomping away. "Coven do this, Coven do that! I'm was lied to, Tortured and broken. And now, Your telling me I'm now supposed to a leader to a bunch of test tube lizards!?" Coven yelled out.

"But Coven, If your ever to be able to defeat Despond, You need the help!" Chronos argued back. "Not only that, but if you open up to these three, you may find being a dragon more appealing to you."

"In what way?" Coven asked. It was then the three dragons spoke up.

"Super strength." Harvus said uprooting a nearby tree.

"Eternal life." Photo said relaxing on a hammock made of vines.

"Magic." Was all Drench said. "J-just to name a few. It's probably more worth then being human."

"Oh, Like you guys have any idea what it was like being human!" Coven shouted. This caused the three to freeze. After a few minutes. Drench began to sniff. A magic storm cloud suddenly grew into existence. The chubby dragon suddenly burst into tears and at the same time, the cloud above him began to rain, forming a puddle underneath the crying dragon.

"Oh, Nice one. You made Drench have a downpour!" Photo said before growing a giant leaf out of the palm of his hand, using it to shield the sobbing dragon from the rain.

"Coven, A word." Chronos said pulling Coven out of earshot of the three other dragons. "I didn't want to say this in front of the other dragons, But I think you should know this." Chronos began. "They weren't born like this....They *Chose * to be like this."

"What do you mean?" Coven asked looking back at the dragons.

"Because....They were once humans like you were." Chronos said to Coven. "I plucked them from a far off world known as Earth, a world like this one, but in which magic does not exist. They willingly chose to leave their old lives behind in order to become dragons." Chronos explained. "Also, After they became dragons, They repressed their old memories as humans subconsciously, For what reason, I don't know why, But judging from the emotional state they were in when I brought them here. They must've truly hated their lives as humans, Which is why they agreed to be experimented on. Ether they get new lives or they die in the process, it was basically a win-win situation at the time."

"They chose to be dragons...?" Coven said looking back at the dragons, Photo and Harvus were consoling Drench.

"I appreciate it it you refrain from sharing what I said to them. Having the truth slammed in their faces will do more harm than good." Chronos advised. He then paused. "She's calling me....I have to go meet up with my ally." He said facing Coven. "Coven, I want you to stay here and try to bond with them. Talk to them." Chronos said before stepping back, tapping his staff two times, He disappeared in a pillar of light."

"Wait....Great." Coven said after the sage left. He looked behind him at the three dragons. "....What to do...." It was then at that moment he imagined Wylla or Rawn giving him advice whatever he was stuck.

_"Talk to them, Coven." _The two imaginary girls said to him at the same time.

Damn it, Now his own mind was on his case. He sighed in defeat, but as he looked over to the three dragons who were now sitting by eachother. A mix of longing and uncomfortableness washed over him. The longing part felt tired and worn out, ready to throw himself into the arms of his own while the uncomfortable part of him felt...Awkward...What will he say? He had no experience in idle talk.

.....He'll....Just have to make an effort.

Coven gulped. What was wrong with him. Just go up to them, and talk to them. Is that really so hard?

If course it was.

....Coven sighed, He nervously took his first step towards them. Why was this so hard, why was he shaking....Oh, of course. In the past, Wylla and Rawn had pushed him out of his comfort zone. They both accepted him for what he is. It was then Coven slapped himself. Of course that's why he stopped caring about the curse. Those two's open minded perspective and compassion rubbed off on him.

But they weren't here, not anymore. He had to stand on his own two feet. The most hardest thing he could have possibly done.

Reaching out.
