#12 of Sophomore Year

Drake is finally moving on, but will Brandon allow this to happen? High school is lonely, especially if your only friends are drugs.

Drake

October 2, 2017. Two months into the school year and I was ready for it to end. Classes were becoming more and more stressful, leaving me with little time to do things I like to do. Homework was no stranger, as well. Most nights I would spend two or three hours trying to complete it all.

Max helped me focus on school. Seeing him accomplish his goals inspired me to do better. He shot for all A's, so I did my best to keep up with him, yet his dedication and work ethics were a little better than my own. He made it look so easy, balancing class work and a variety of clubs.

Since Max and I started dating, we've spent more time with one another. In order to keep a healthy relationship, I decided to spend less time at Diablo Apostles. Max thought it was good to free up that time, but others had a different opinion.

I walked into Diablo Apostles and suddenly, a pair of blue boxing gloves flew pass my head as I dodged them. In front of me stood Necross with a pissed off expression plastered over his face. His eyes burned bright red as he glared at me.

"What the fuck?" I barked.

Necross continued to glare. "What the fuck is right. Where the hell have you been the last week? Have you forgotten about the East Coast Tournament? We only have, what? Three weeks until it starts, and you're missing entire weeks of training?"

"School has been kicking my ass, man." Was all I could say.

Necross did not like this answer. He walked up to me in his gloves with no shirt on, showing his well cut body. "That's not the only thing that'll be kicking your ass." He growled.

I shrugged. "You're free to try."

Necross rolled his eyes. "You've missed so much training, I doubt you can beat a newb."

I chuckled. "You're probably right, man." I looked to the side, then back at him. Nervous for what was to come. "I'll do better. For the next three weeks I'll give it my all... But after this tournament, I'll hang up the gloves."

From behind Necross, a voice could be heard.

"The hell you are!" A large bear pushed Necross aside to take his spot in front of me. "What the hell is going on with you?"

I scratched the back of my head, smiling in the process. "Umm... I have to focus on school. Training is taking a lot out of me, and well, last I checked, colleges do not give out scholarships to kids who practice MMA."

"Bullshit," Necross spat. "Coach, he's doing this for a guy."

I looked at Necross in disbelief. Did he just out me?"

Coach looked at Necross, then back at me. "What does he mean by this?"

I sighed. I didn't want anyone to know about Max and I, but the cat was out of the bag. "He's referring to my boyfriend..."

The next thing Coach said left me in shock. I thought telling him I dated a guy would hinder our relationship, but Coach simply said, "Why the hell would your love life interfere with your training? Most would use that as motivation."

I nodded. "I agree. I just prefer to use the motivation for school."

Coach folded his huge log sized arms and sighed. "When you focus on something, you give it your all, I'll give you that. Listen. Don't make any decisions just yet. Think about it until the tournament and we'll talk about this again. Hopefully you'll change your mind. I would hate to see you waste such a great talent for your high school sweet heart."

A slight smile curled my lips. "Thanks, Coach." I looked over at Necross who still wore a disappointed expression. We stared at one another for a few seconds, then he turned around and made his way to one of the boxing rings, letting off an audible growl as he walked away.

I gave coach a quick nod and followed Necross. I placed a paw on his shoulder and he shrugged it off.

"Fuck off man," Necross said, his voice low and deep. "Go home to your BOYfriend."

"Come on," I started. "Don't be like that. I thought you would be happy for me."

Necross guffawed before turning around to face me once more. "Happy for you? Dude, for weeks you've been MIA. You never call; rarely text. Hell, I thought we were friends."

"We are friends."

"Bull shit!" Necross spat. "A friend would tell their friends they have a boyfriend. A friend would even introduce said boyfriend to his friend. Seems like you continue to make the same mistake over and over again, justifying it in the name of love."

I sighed in defeat. Necross was right. I always hide the person I love. It is selfish, I know, but it's also all I know.

"It's a lot more complicated than that..."

"Then explain it to me," Necross pleaded. "You're my best friend... but I always feel like I come second to furs like Brandon and Max..."

I looked at the ground, then at Necross. "Brandon, Max and I have history, but that doesn't mean you aren't my friend. I try to balance my time to make sure everyone is happy, but for some reason I've neglected you the last few weeks... You're right about everything. I haven't kept you updated... I want to, but it's not my place, you know? It wouldn't be fair to out someone without their permission, you know?"

Necross released a heavy sigh. "I do agree with you about that. I'm sorry for telling coach... That wasn't my place..."

I shrugged. "It's ok. It didn't seem to faze him so I'm not worried."

Worry began to drain from Necross's face. "Good. No harm no foul, I guess. I'll never understand why you would give up fighting, but I respect your decision. I hope you change your mind, though. And also... Being your friend and all, I still want to know who's dating my favorite sparring buddy."

I grabbed a pair of boxing gloves and smiled at my dragon friend. "I'll tell you, but you'll have to beat it out of me."

Necross grinned. "Best two out of three rounds?"

I removed my shirt, standing in nothing but a pair of joggers and shoes.

"Deal!"

"Awwwww!"

"Stop being a baby." Max said as he placed a pack of frozen peas on my right eye.

Necross didn't hold back. He was right about there being a gap in our skill. I didn't think there would be much of a difference, but the dragon proved me wrong. Now I sat in Max's bed with a black eye and bruised abs. It's obvious I lost all three rounds against Necross. Since Max lived closer to the gym I decided to stop at his place.

"Shut up," I grinned. "I'm injured from a result of defending your honor."

Max rolled his eyes. "How noble of you. I'm guessing Necross didn't take your resignation without a fight... literally."

I chuckled. "You know him, he loves a good fight."

"Yeah, I'd hate to be his opponent." Max walked over to a desk and pulled out a chair. "So is it done? Did you really quit?"

As I held the bag of peas on my bruising eye, I looked down. "Everything is taken care of. Coach seems to understand my decision, but I could see the disappointment on his face."

Max leaned back in his chair and propped his legs in my lap. "Kind of like the disappointed look that's on your face right now?"

I quickly glanced up at Max, then off to the side. I didn't answer his question. Maybe because I did not have an answer.

"You don't have to give up MMA for me, you know?" Max said.

"Who says it's for you?" I replied.

Max tilt his head. "I just assumed it was... why else would you give up something you love?"

"That's a good question," I took a brief pause to think of an answer. "I think it's because I dove head first into MMA when I lost Tyran. All of the pain and anger got the best of me and the only way to ease my heartbreak was to push my body to its limit. Now that I have you, I don't need MMA as a distraction."

"But it's more than a distraction now, isn't it?" Max asked.

I nodded. "Fighting was my life... It's hard to imagine life without it. Coach told me to think about it, so I still have time."

Max smiled. "We don't have to have the same goals to be a successful couple, you know? There's nothing hotter than a man going after what he wants."

I gave Max a sly smile. "So watching me fight turns you on?"

Max blushed. "To be honest... yes. It always has."

I sat the bag of peas aside, then placed a paw on Max's thigh, gently caressing it. "Are you turned on right now?"

Max's blush darkened. "A- a little..."

As I rubbed the length of Max's muscular leg, heat could be felt radiating from his groin area. I ran the paw up and down a few more times before resting a paw on his crotch and gently grasping it. He shivered and let out a low moan.

I leaned off the bed and pressed my lips to Max's. He continued to moan into the kiss, sending vibrations throughout my maw and throat. I grabbed the back of Max's head to pull him deeper into the kiss. The taste of our saliva mixing in each others muzzle drove me wild. Before I knew it, my jogger pants started to tighten.

Max pushed himself up to deepen the kiss. He grasped the collar of my shirt to pull me between his legs. His free paw moved down my chest and abs, stopping when he gripped my fabric covered member.

I let out a few moans of my own before breaking the kiss. "Is this ok? When will your parents be home?"

"I don't know." Max says before pulling me back into a kiss.

I broke the kiss again, even though it took everything out of me. "I really, really, really want to do this, but we don't have the best track record when it comes to people walking in on us."

Max chuckled and placed his paws on my cheeks. "Don't worry. You know how my parents are. There would have to be a fire in my room for them to even consider coming in."

I smiled before locking lips with the husky once more. Max pushed me off of him, causing me to fall back onto his bed. He climbed on top of my midsection before leaning down to kiss me again, causing me to flinch from the pain my ribs endured. It didn't bother me. In fact, it turned me on even more.

I placed my paws on his hips, grinding our crotches together. Kissing Max was awesome, but with every second that past, I found myself wanting more and more from him.

Max felt the same. He pushed himself up using my chest and removed his shirt. He grabbed the collar of my shirt and pulled it over my head, tossing the fabric aside.

Max was beautiful. He worked out and it showed with his defined chest and laser cut abs all covered in snow white fur.

I placed a paw on his chest, letting it slowly run down his abs, feeling each bumpy muscle in the process. I then began unbuckling his pants.

Max placed a paw on top of mine. "Slow down. No need to rush..."

I folded my arms behind my head and closed my eyes. "Fine. I'll leave it all up to you."

Max wasted no time. He yanked my pants off and threw them on my face, causing me to chuckle. The chuckling quickly diseased when I felt a my cock engulfed in warmth. I bit my lower lip to keep from moaning, but it was a lost effort.

Max grabbed the base of my cock with one paw and used his other to fondle my furry balls as his head bobbed up and down. With each decline, my cock hit the back of his throat causing him to tighten his throat.

The feeling was amazing. Max had a gift when it comes to this stuff. He knew just where to kiss. He knew where to touch. He knew where to lick. I loved everything he did.

Suddenly, Max pulled off my cock. When he did, it felt like my cock was thrown into a blizzard. I removed my pants from over my muzzle and tossed them to the floor, looking down at Max.

Max grinned. He stood up and started removing his own pants before tossing them aside, then climbed back on top of me. I moved my hips up and down, grinding into his furry muscled ass, desperately wanting to be inside him.

Max placed his muzzle no more than inch from my ear and whispered, filling my ear with his warm breaths "I want you inside me."

I grabbed Max's ass with both paws. "What are you waiting for, pup? Put it in."

Max blushed. A hint of red could be spotted through the white patches of fur. He brought his paw to his muzzle, spit in it, and wiped the saliva on his tight hole. He used two of his fingers to massage his hole, moaning as his head shoots back and he bites his lower lip. Once his ass was ready, he grabbed my cock, giving it a firm squeeze before pushing its tip into his ass.

Being the horny hybrid I am, I wasted no time pushing his waist down and plunging my cock deeper into my friend.

Max flinched. "Easy!"

I smirked. "You know I can't control myself around you."

A soft, half-smile curled Max's lips as he leaned down and kissed me. He placed a paw on my chest before beginning to push his ass down on my cock. He started slow, then increased the pace the more we kissed. The deeper the kiss, the rougher his movements became.

"Fuck..." I said between moans. "You feel so fucking good..."

I leaned into a sitting position with Max's ass clenched around my cock. This position allowed us to deepen the kiss, but I was not able to push all the way into him. I flipped him on his back, driving my cock in his ass and my tongue in his mouth.

Max moaned louder. I placed a paw over his mouth to keep it down, but he bit down on a finger. The pain only made my cock jerk and shoot precum into his ass.

I threw Max's legs over my shoulders and fucked him deeper than before, filling his ass with my throbbing member. The sound of our bodies slapping together and Max's moans echoed throughout his room. Max's arms wrapped around my neck, pulling me closer.

"Oh God! Fuck me harder, Drake." Max cried.

I obeyed his request and thrust with more force than before. Max's ass felt better than anything I've ever experienced. Before I knew it, my knot formed, beating at his tail hole. Feeling the knot hit his hole caused his legs to tremble.

"I'm getting close..." I panted. "Can I tie us?"

"No!" Max blurted...

But it was to late. Before his words registered in my brain, I drove my cock and knot into my husky friend. Max gasped as his legs stiffened around my neck, nearly cutting off circulation to my head. Once his legs eased up, Max grabbed his cock and stroked it a few times before releasing his own seed onto his chest.

I wrapped my arms around Max's back and rolled over, pulling my husky friend on top of me. I felt his warm cum mix into my chest fur.

I gave a content sigh and kissed Max on the forehead. He rest his head under my chin, draped an arm around me, and cuddled into my chest. We laid there. No words were said. What could we say? We let our bodies and our emotions do the talking, and what a conversation! I didn't want this to end. If we could lay here forever I would. If I could stay inside him forever, I would.

I think...

I may be falling in love with Max...

Brandon

Last week, I witnessed abuse on the football team and I turned in my resignation. Brendan, a German Shepherd, was being physically abused by our Coach, and his dad. This was my first time experiencing child abuse.

This week, I would go back to the same team and ask for my spot back. Ace told me to wait one week before doing so to give them time to see what they are missing. He was right. All of my team members begged me to return. The principal even approached me in attempt to win me back. I did as instructed by Ace and patiently waited.

Today is October 3, 2017. The final bell of the day released Madison's students. While every one was making their way home, I walked to the field house. Today was the day I took my spot on the team back. A mixture of nervousness and excitement caused my stomach to turn.

I made it to Coach's office and knocked on the door. A voice instructed me to come in and I did. I opened the door to reveal the Shepherd sitting behind his desk.

Coach looked up and a smile immediately covered his face. "Brandon! It's good to see you. What brings you to my office today?"

I stood in front of his desk. "I wanted to talk about last week and...," I gulped, swallowing my pride. "See if my spot was still available?"

Coach pushed a stack of papers aside on his desk. "You know, everyone has been asking about you. All I've heard this week is "When is Brandon coming back?", or "Go talk him into rejoining the team." but my pride got in the way. Plus I'm a sucker for rules. If a player quits and wants to come back, then he starts at the bottom."

I clenched my paw. "Like your son did?"

Coach squint his eyes. "I do make exceptions for those I see potential in."

I held myself up by planting a paw at the edge of his desk. "Look, I know I broke your rule. I had a bad week and handled things poorly." My grip on the desk tightened. "You've been an awesome coach. You took a newcomer and made him into a star player. Not many people can do what you did, and that's what makes you perfect at your job. I know. I messed up, but we both know the only way get into the playoffs this year is to have me on the team. None of the other running backs have my instinct or skill. Let me help you become a legend at this school."

I hate to stroke his ego, especially an ego of an abusive asshole, but it's what Ace would do. Ace encourage me to always stay alert, stay calm, and stay in control. That was hard this time. The sight of this man alone made me madder than I have ever been in my life.

Coach took a second to think it over before saying, "Ok. You can have your position back..."

I sighed in relief. "Thanks coach. I'll go get suited up..."

"That won't be necessary." Coach interrupted. "Go home today. You can start back tomorrow. When you quit, I sent in all your paper work. To ensure the school isn't sued, we need you to get your parents to sign another waiver." Coach pulled out a piece of paper from his desk and handed it to me. "Here you go. Have your parents fill them out and we'll get you back on the field come tomorrow."

I took the papers and nodded. "Alright. I'll get these signed ASAP."

I turned around to leave, but was stopped by coach's final words.

"And Brandon," Coach started, causing me to turn around. "If you pull this shit again, I'll make sure you never play football in this state." Coach's face turned from calm to menacing.

As I turned to walk out once more, a grin curled my lips. "Trust me, Coach. You won't have to worry about that."

I received a text from Drake on my way home. He wanted to meet up at Kanker Park, alone. Drake and I haven't been alone in months. I wonder what brought on this request, but since my evening was free I decided to hangout with my hybrid friend to burn a few hours.

When I got there, Drake was sitting on our usual bench with his cell phone in paw, texting away. He wore a goofy smile as he mashed on the screen.

"Yo." I said walking up to Drake.

Drake's head shot up. He smiled once he noticed who was speaking. "What's up Big Bear?"

"Nada," I said before sitting next to my hybrid friend. "Where's the wife?"

Drake chuckled. "You know Max, he's still at school doing god knows what."

"He's there more than the teachers." I said, laughing.

"I know right? But that's our future President." Drake wore a content smile as he looked down at his phone.

"Yup, and you're our future first lady." I said, jokingly.

Drake punched my arm and laughed. "Shut up. Asshole."

I laughed and playfully pushed him. There was a brief silence as we looked at our phones. I received a text message from Ace. He congratulated me on getting my spot back, even though I haven't told him yet. He had a lot of faith in me, it seems.

I looked back over at Drake. The goofy smile returned while he read a text. The messenger must have been Max. There has been nothing but smiles from both my friends since they became a couple. I was happy for them, especially Drake. After all he's been through it was nice to see him happy for once.

I hated to interrupt him, but I had a question. "So why did you want to meet up? It's been a while since it was just us."

Drake sat his phone down and turned to face me. "Oh yeah... I did call you here for a reason."

"Shoot." I said.

"Well," Drake looked in the opposite direction before locking eyes with me again. "It's about Max."

"What about him?"

Drake gulped. "He's told me about you two. You know, your secret relationship thing that's been going on for the past few years."

I blushed. "What about it?"

"I never thought I would be a jealous boyfriend," Drake started. "But I really like Max. We've been friend's since grade school. Even though our paths are different, I see a future with him. I hope he and I will be together for a very long time... That's why I have to ask."

Drake looked down, breaking eye contact. "That's why I have to know... Do you have feelings Max?"

"Wh-" My eyes widened. "Max and I..."

Drake glared at me. "Don't say you two are just friends. We both know there's something deeper there. You may not love Max the way he loves you, but you care about him more than anyone I know."

I sighed. "Max and I are just friends, but that's not what I was going to say. We're complicated. I was his first time, so I guess he will always feel a special connection to me. You don't have to worry about that, because even though I was his first time, you are his first boyfriend. He receives the attention from you that I could never give him."

Drake also sighed as he leaned back into the bench. "That's good. I just don't want this to be weird... But most importantly, I don't want this to ruin our friendship. I want things to be normal between us, but I can't shake this feeling of jealousy when you two are alone together. The imagination is a dangerous place."

I nodded. "I understand. You have nothing to worry about when it comes to Max and I. I would never, ever do anything to mess up our friendship."

Drake smiled. "Good. Because... I love him."

I cupped a paw over my muzzle and gasped. "You're what???"

Drake blushed. "I'm in love with Max."

"Are you sure?" I asked without thinking. A little jealousy of my own was present.

Drake's lips drooped into a frown. "Of course I'm sure. I haven't been this happy in a while."

"Since Tyran." I said.

Drake nodded, continuing to frown. "Yeah... but can we please not talk about Tyran right now?"

"Why? Because you're still in love with him?"

The hybrid sat in silence. The old depressed Drake made a return.

"I'm sorry for bringing him up." I started. "I just want to make sure Max doesn't get hurt, you know, if Tyran ever decide to come back."

"I'll never hurt Max!" Drake shot.

I returned fire, "Then answer the question!"

Drake sighed. "I'll always love Tyran..." I opened my mouth to drill into Drake, but he continued. "But as far as being in love with him? No... That is a door that will remained closed and locked. Tyran had his chance to fight for me, but he chose to give up.

"Before Max and I started dating, I had to constantly fight every fiber in my body to keep from loving Tyran... from imagining a future with him." Drake head lowered as tears began to fill his eyes. "Tyran is gone, and the piece of me that he took with him seems to return when I'm around Max... That is why I won't ever hurt Max."

I grabbed Drake's paw causing him to look up to meet my gaze. "I believe you. Max is very lucky to have you. He's a great guy. You two really do deserve one another."

Drake squeezed my paw and smiled. "Thanks, Brandon. You're great friend. Always have been."

I smiled back at the Hybrid. "Anytime, bro."

Suddenly, my pocket started to vibrate. I reach in my pocket and retracted the phone. It was a message from Ace.

Ace: "Coming over tonight?"

I smiled at the message.

Me: "Sure."

Ace: "Good. We can celebrate you making the team."

Me: "How are we going to do that? ;)"

Ace: "All I'm gonna say is keep your pads and uniform on ;)"

I blushed at the thought of what was going on in Ace's imagination.

Me: "Wow... I'll change omw. I didn't practice today."

Ace: "Oh. Don't worry about it then. You won't be in your uniform for long anyway."

Ace: "Where r u?"

Me: "Wit Drake at Kanker Park.

Ace: "I'll come pick you up. Leaving Diablo Apostle now."

Me: "K."

I placed the phone back in pocket. "Well, Ace is coming to pick me up soon. He's leaving Diablo Apostle's."

Drake's eyes almost popped out of his head. "Uh oh. I made need to jet before he gets here."

I title my head. "Why?"

"Ace is probably pissed at me." Drake said as he pushed off the bench, grabbing his backpack and throwing it over a shoulder. "Coach probably told him by now that I am quitting after this tournament... Plus I'm late for training... haha!"

I shook my head. "Don't worry about Ace. He's a very understanding guy."

"And scary," Drake added. "I watched him spar once. He's a monster. I think if I had to pick who's the most deadliest between Necross and Ace, I'd pick Ace, and he's two inches shorter than Necross."

I laughed, knowing his words were true. "That's Ace for you. He's a genius at whatever he does."

Drake laughed as well. "Anyway, I'll head to the gym. Thanks for meeting me here. I'm glad I got all of that off my chest."

I nodded. "No problem, man. But before you leave, I have a question."

"Shoot." Drake said.

"Does Max know?" I asked.

Drake tilt his head. "Know what? That I love him?"

I nodded.

Drake gave a weak smile. "Not yet. I'll tell him when I'm ready, so please don't tell him."

"Of course!" I replied. "But don't wait too long. If you're scared he won't feel the same, don't worry. He wants to be with you just as much as you want to be with him. I can see it on both of your faces."

Drake chuckled. "I see Ace is rubbing off on you. You sound wise beyond your years." Drake gripped his backpack strap and turned around. "See ya, Brandon!"

"Alright man."

Drake left me to sit on the bench alone as I waited for Ace to arrive. I went over everything that happened this evening. From the encounter with Coach, to Drake telling me he loved my best friend. I didn't know how to feel about the latter.

Max is my oldest friend. We know each other on a very personal level. I was his first time, after all. Of course I felt the need to protect him, even from another friend. I am happy for my friend. If anyone deserved a healthy relationship it's Drake and Max. But even though I wished the best of luck, something still didn't sit well with me.

Tyran.

What if Tyran comes back to Madison? Would Drake's love for Max be able to overpower his first love? Only time could tell. For now, I would do everything in my power to fight my natural flirtatious self and respect the relationship of my two friend.

A car horn blew over the distance, causing my head to shoot up.

Ace rolled down the window of his silver Mercedes and yelled, "Let's go, pup!"

I grabbed my backpack and duffle bag before making my way to Ace's car.

Caleb

Why was life so boring? Mine in particular. School had released and, strangely, I kind of wanted to be back in class. At least then I would have something to do.

Basketball was a thing of the past. I was going to play this year, but I missed tryouts over the summer. Not to mention, I was in no position to pass a drug test.

I didn't have anything to do after school. I decided to hang around campus. Odd, huh? I never hung around school afterhours. I hated school with a passion, yet here I was, walking school grounds alone.

I walked aimlessly, with no destination, scrolling down FacePage as I put one foot in front of the other. When I looked up, I was at the football field. The team was practicing. The clashing of helmets filled the air as furs collided. On the opposite side of the field I could see Brandon walking out of the field house. Word on the street is that Brandon quit the football team. Seeing him out of uniform just confirmed those rumors.

Further down the field, on the sidelines, a group of cheerleaders were, umm, well, cheering. They wore their all black practice uniforms. I thought it was sexy. I love to see a woman wear black.

One of the cheerleaders caught my attention.

Amber.

The cheetah performed a few backflips before standing up straight with her arms in the air. Her form was flawless. She was always flexible, and now I could see why. Her beauty knows no bounds. She kept her body nice and tight for the squad. I remember when she use to keep it tight for me. Memories of the nude cheetah caused me to drool a little.

"Hey Amber!" I barked.

Amber's head jerked in the direction her name was called. She was smiling until her eyes met mine. A disappointed look quickly replaced that smile. She rolled her eyes and attempted to turn around, but I yelled her name out again.

"Amber. Aye! Don't be like that."

She fold her arms and yelled, "What?!"

I waved her over. "Come over here."

Amber rolled her eyes again and walked over with aggression in each step. She didn't even look at me when she made it to where I was standing.

"What?" Amber coldly asked.

"I just wanted to talk to you, see how you been doing." I said, folding my arms on a fence that separated the bleachers from the field and rest my chin in my arms. "What's up?"

"I'm good." Amber spat. "Is there anything else I can help you with today?"

I chuckled. "You can help me with a lot, but this isn't the place."

"Fuck off, Caleb." Amber said as she turned around to leave.

I reach out and gently grabbed her arm. "Come on. Don't be like that."

Amber smacked her lips. "You broke up with ME. I've moved on."

"I haven't," I smirked. "No one can truly move on from you."

Amber jerked her arm from my grasp. "Good. That's how it should be."

I jumped over the fence and stood in front of Amber. "That's how it will always be. But lets not dwell on the past. How about we plan something for the future... Maybe dinner?"

Amber's eyes rolled. "Everyone knows Caleb doesn't do dinner. He does drinks, but never dinner."

"Have you forgot what he can do after a few drinks?" I grinned.

Amber glared at me. "Fuck. Off. Caleb."

I sighed. "I know, I know. I'm a jackass. The biggest jackass at Madison High."

"No one's arguing with that." Amber said sarcastically.

"All I was really trying to say today is I'm sorry," I started. "I treated you unfairly, and that's something I will have to live with for the rest of my life. I'm not the most popular kid at school these days. My friends left me. That's why I acted so weird... I lost everything. I may have lost you as a girlfriend, but is it possible we can still be friends?"

Amber's arms remained folded. She looked to her right, then to her left, and finally back at me. She sighed. "Let me think about it. I'm a little hesitant to trust you. The memory of how you did me is still fresh, and I can't just forget all the pain you caused... I'm sorry to hear about your friends. I really do hope you work that out..."

I looked down, defeated. I expected more from this encounter, but life had other plans. "That's fine... I'm sorry for bothering you... Umm.. Text me if you change your mind."

I turned around and walked off the football field with my head down.
