Chapter 14 : Don't Mess With The Alpha.

Kyo was on his side as he looked up at the one who stabbed him. "Why Talons?" he asked once more.

"Twenty-one," he said as he pushed Kyo onto his back with his foot. "Because of you 21 of my closest friends died." Talons lifted up his foot and slammed it down on the human's chest. Kyo let out a curling scream while Talons started to put more pressure on him as he bent down, Talons gripped the knife and gave it a small twist before he ripped it out of the human's chest. "I thought I could trust you, but I was wrong," he said as he spat on the human's face. "You're not even worth being called a mutt."

Kyo was breathing heavily as his vision started to get blurry, he slowly put his hand over the wound and tried to put pressure on it till he felt a sharp pain in his side. Kyo gritted his teeth as Talons gave him another kick in the side. "I hope you rot in hell," he said as he knelt down and lifted up the knife. He was about to bring it down till they both heard a scream. Talons looked up to see a horrified female wolf dropped the towels she was caring, the human cursed as he heard some yelling. The human turned around and darted for the door as more wolves came around the corner. Some went after the human while some came to help Kyo.

Kyo was looking up at the wolf that placed his hand over the wound. "Hold on." was all he heard from them as his blurry vision started to get worst and soon darkness took over him.

..................................................

Icewaver was standing in front of the guards that were looking at him. "I have decided to cut on watch standing from four hours to two." He heard some cheering from the wolves as he continued to tell what else they all needed to know. He heard someone call his name, as he turned one of his guards was running up to him.

"Sir... There is a problem," the wolf said out of breath when he reached to Icewaver.

Icewaver just looked at the wolf curiously. "Well, what is it."

The wolf stood, a bit uneasy to be the one to tell him the news. "Umm... It's your pup. He was stabbed this morning," the wolf said as he waited for a response.

Anger swiftly ran through him as he balled up his fist and quickly punched the wolf in his face. "Don't ever say that," he yelled as the wolf fell to the ground in pain.

The wolf had his ears back as he looked up to him. "My lord it's the truth." Icewaver was getting ready to kick the wolf till he heard someone.

"Uncle." Icewaver looked up to see Froshen was just outside of the door, his cheeks were matted with tears. The wolf knew at that moment that it was serious as he jumped over the wolf and sprinted for the doorway of the palace.

'No... please no,' was all going through the wolf's mind as he ran through the halls. He came to a room with lots of wolves standing outside of it. He ran up and started to push them aside till he got a glimpse of Kyo laying on a table. "Pup," he yelled as he tried to make his way to him. Icewaver felt some of the wolves holding him back. "Let me go," he yelled.

"Sir, please let them take care of him." One of them tried to calm him down. Icewaver was getting so worked up he wasn't thinking straight, all he wanted to do was hold his human. He tried desperately to get to Kyo, he got close but a pair of big arms was wrapped around him. He turned to shove the wolf off him but saw his father was standing there holding him.

"Let them do their job pup," he said as Icewaver tried to get out of the wolf's grasp, his effort became less and less as he started to let his emotions get the best of him. He wrapped his arms around his father and just busted out crying. His father's grip tightened as he tried to comfort his son. "He's going to be alright."

He wanted to believe him more than anything. Icewaver wanted his pup to just sit up from the table and smile at him. He wanted this whole thing to be a bad dream. Galle managed to get Icewaver calmed down enough to tell him what happened. Icewaver found out that Kyo had a broken rib due to being kicked so hard in the side and he also lost a lot of blood from the cut. The only information the Alpha didn't tell him was who did it, Galle wanted to punish the human personally.

Galle started to walk down the hallway but stopped to look at his son that was sitting on the floor outside of the room, waiting impatiently to see Kyo. The Alpha turned and headed down the hall, he went out in the back part of the palace till he found the one room he was looking for. He entered and saw Talons hanging with his arms stretched outward high enough that when the Alpha walked up to him they were eye to eye. He stopped in front of the slave, Talons looked up at the wolf and smiled. Galle snarled and punched the human in the side of the face hard enough to make him groan in pain but light enough not to knock him out.

"Why?" was all the wolf asked.

Talons started to laugh. "Payback can be such a bitch. I just figured that since the little rat liked dogs so much that he should be put down like one," he said but got a punch into the gut.

"How do you know that he was the one?"

"Why would it matter," the human said as he hung his head and kept his gaze from the wolf. "Not like you'll do anything to the wolf anyways."

The Alpha thought for a moment, the only wolves he wouldn't harm was his own family. Then it struck him, the only wolf that have a grudge against their pet and knew he told on Talons' departure time. He snarled in anger and turned to the wolves that was on guard duty behind him. "Put Angelis in her room and don't let her out now!" he yelled. The two wolves bowed and quickly ran out of the room.

Galle heard Talons start to laugh. "You figure things out quick for a mutt," he said.

The wolf glared at the human. "That should be the last thing you should be worried about," he said as we walked over to a burner and pulled out a pick from the fire, he walked back to the human and held it into view. The bright tip metal glowed in front of the human as his eyes widened, for the first time the wolf saw something he was waiting for from him, fear.

.............................................

Icewaver was still sitting outside the doorway. He was sitting on the floor with his knees brought up close to him and had his arms crossed while his face rested on them, his tail wrapped close around his feet. Tears were still falling from his face every now and then. Even though his ears were flat on his head he could still listen to the wolves inside the room that was taking care of the human.

"Why are we doing this?" one of the wolves asked.

He heard the other one sighed. "It's the family's pet."

"But it's still a human," the wolf from before responded.

"Just do your job and be quiet about it," one of the guards said. "Lord Icewaver is still out side." Icewaver just buried his face in his arms and tried to block out all the voices around him. The family wasn't just worried about Kyo, seeing the way Icewaver was handing the situation started to make them worry about him too.Wolves were coming up to him asking if he was ok but he just sat there and didn't answer. He was asked if he wanted to eat but he just shook his head. Froshen walked up to him but the big wolf would act like the wolf wasn't even there, he just kept his face buried in his arms as he cried.

..........................................

The door opened as Galle stepped out, his once white arms and chest was now red. He looked at a wolf waiting outside the room. "Burn the body," he ordered. The wolf nodded and motioned for another to help him, they walked in to see that fresh blood was still dripping from the human's eye sockets and his hands where the fingers once used to be. They figured the stab in the chest was what killed the human, but they didn't ask. They did as they were told and got rid of the corpse.

Galle went to the bathroom and started to wash the blood off of him, he was thinking hard on what to do with his daughter. He thought of one option, he didn't want this to happen but it seemed that he had no choice. Once he manage to get his coat back to the white as snow color he dried himself off and headed off to find Dusk.

.............................

Icewaver hadn't moved one bit. His mother walked down the hallway and sat beside him, wrapping her arms around his neck to hug him. The wolf looked up at her, she saw his eyes were red from crying so much but she also saw the fear of loosing the one person he cared most for in the world.

"He's going to be fine," she reassured him.

The wolf leaned into her hug as he wrapped his arms tightly around her. "I know, I just..." He couldn't think straight as tears started to fill his eyes again.

A wolf came out of the room and walked up to the two. "My lord, Ma'am," he said, just to have Icewaver jump up and look at him.

"Is he ok? Is he awake? Can I see him?" Icewaver started to babble.

The wolf held up his paws to try and stop Icewaver from continuing. "The human is ok for now, we stopped the bleeding but he still lost a lot of blood. We know that the knife just missed the heart but we can't tell how close. We applied an ointment to help reduce the chance of infection. We also managed to brace his chest so that his rib can heal properly. He has a fifty-fifty chance of living though, from here on out it's all up to him." The wolf sighed heavily. "He isn't awake yet but if you want to you can see him."

If it wasn't for his mother holding onto his arm Icewaver would have jolted past the wolf. The two slowly walked into the room and he saw that they managed to move Kyo from the table to a small bed nearby. He walked up to the body as it laid with the whole chest bandaged up. His shaky paws reached out and cupped both of the human's cheeks as he started to cry once more, Icewaver started to nuzzle the side of the humans face as he fell to his knees and the tears started to flow freely.

"Please pup, just wake up." he begged as he continued to nuzzle him. "Pup please." He felt a paw on his back and the wolf looked back at his mother. She looked at her son with sad eyes as he begged for Kyo to wake. She knew it would be hard to get her son to leave so she brought in a chair and had him sit beside the bed before she kissed him on the forehead and quietly left the room to give her son some privacy. Icewaver kissed the side of the human's face before he laid his head down on Kyo's shoulder. "I'm here for you pup," was all he was able to say.

.......................................

Dusk was outside watching the slaves tend to the garden when he saw the Alpha approach him. All the slaves bowed to the wolf as he passed. "Afternoon my lord," Dusk said as the wolf stopped in front of him. "What can I do for you?" he asked.

"Follow me now," he said as he walked back to the palace. "I'll explain things on the way there." Dusk wasn't sure what's going on but he knew that from the way the Alpha told him to follow that he was serious. They ended up going to his daughter's chambers.

"Are you sure about this?" Dusk asked. "I mean if you are I'm more than happy to do it."

Galle just gave him a nod before they heard screaming from the other side. "I said get the fuck out of my way and let me out."

The wolf took a deep breath and opened the door as the two guards moved out of the way and Angelis tried to run out but ran into her father. "Dad," she said with a smile.

The Alpha pushed her back a little. "Pup is unconscious and is barely holding onto his life."

Angelis just smiled. "So he was injured. Good, one less slave we have to worry about." She wasn't expecting it but her father smacked her across the face.

"It's your fault that he's this way, because you told Talons what Kyo did," he yelled, the wolf started to shake a little from being yelled at by her father. "You leave me no choice." He looked away for a moment to get all of his emotions back into order. He looked up at her and for once she saw that he was truly displeased with her. "I can't think of anything to do to you but one thing." He looked back at the wolves and nodded. They all walked around him and grabbed his daughter by the arms, she struggled to get free but it was no use. "I can never harm my own family, whether you are or not you're still blood to me. But because of the given circumstances of how dangerous you are..." he started and she stopped struggling when she found out it was no use. "You are hereby exiled." She let out a curdling scream as she started to kick and tried to get lose.

"No father please," she begged.

He looked away from her. "Dusk will accompany you to a small cottage to the south. From there you're on your own." He flicked his wrist and the wolves carried her out, Dusk bowed to Galle and followed the group. Angelis was still screaming as they carried her out.

"Father please, I'm your daughter. Please," was all the Alpha could hear down the hall.

Galle waited till everyone was gone and the door closed before he fell to his knees crying. He didn't want to do it but he felt as if he had no choice. He heard the door open. He glanced back to see his wife walk in and knelt down beside him, tears started to run down her face as well.

"I'm sorry," he said to her as she hugged the big wolf. "I couldn't... I just-"

She nuzzled the big wolf under his chin. "I know dear husband, I understand we just lost a daughter." It didn't last though. She stood up and took the wolf by the paw and motioned him to leave the room. They walked back to the room where Kyo was resting. They didn't go in but they stood in the doorway. "This really hit him hard," she said.

Galle nodded. "I know, it has to all of us. This whole day is nothing but a disaster. The pups don't want to play because of this human's condition. I just gave the order to send our only daughter away." The wolf just shook his head as he tried to clear his head. His gaze went back to his son sitting by his human. "We should get him some food though." She nodded and the two left without saying a word to him.

Icewaver just sat on the stool, even though he was tired he just couldn't sleep. He looked behind him to see a female human walk in and sat a trey of food beside the wolf. "Sir," she said gently. "How is he doing?"

Icewaver looked back to his pup and rubbed a claw over the human's cheek. "So far he's fine," he said softly.

She looked at the wolf curiously. "You care for him a lot don't you?"

The wolf closed his eyes as he tried to hold back the tears. "I love him," he blurted out. The human just stood surprised that he just admitted how much he did care for Kyo. She quickly bowed and left the room, Icewaver didn't care. He wanted his human to be with him more than anything, to feel his hugs, his touch, and his love. The wolf held onto Kyo's hand as he laid his head back onto the human's shoulder, he could feel Kyo's shallow breathing and his faint heartbeat. "Please pup, I can't be here without you. Just wake up," he begged quietly as he closed his eyes and tried to see if he can get a little rest, but he knew deep down that he wouldn't be able to.

......................................

At the dinner table everyone was eating quietly. Froshen was looking around and saw that there was one more chair empty than there should be. "Granddad," the pup said to have the Alpha look up at him but didn't answer so Froshen continued. "Where is auntie?" he asked.

Galle looked away. "She's gone and not coming back," he said and shot a look at the pup that said that was the end of the conversation. He looked back down and ate in silence, they all did. No one at the table felt like talking after everything that had happened.

Dinner was quick as the Alpha walked out of the dining room and off to see how Kyo was doing. He walked in and saw that Icewaver was still sitting beside the human, next to the wolf was an untouched plate of food. The Alpha slowly walked up and sat on the floor beside his son.

"You need to eat," the wolf said. Icewaver didn't say anything, he just sat in the chair and stared at the human. Galle looked up at the wolf and saw his fur on his cheeks was still moist. Galle never saw his son this hurt ever, he knew this had hurt him but he worried that the situation would get worst if the wolf didn't eat or sleep. Galle sighed as he got up. "Let's go," he said as he put his paw on Icewaver's shoulder.

The wolf started to whimper as the bigger wolf pulled him up out of his chair. "Don't worry, I'll get your guards to keep an eye on him," the wolf said as he tried to lead the younger wolf out of the room, Icewaver just started to whine and protest as he started to pull away. "Damn pup," the Alpha said, he gripped the wolf's waist and tossed him up and over his shoulder. "I know how you feel but there isn't anything you can do right now." The Alpha walked into a common room where his wife was sitting, the wolf threw Icewaver onto the couch and glared at him to stay.

Icewaver laid his ears back as he looked to the ground. His mother moved closer to him as she started to dry his face with the bottom part of her dress. "Are you ok honey?" she asked.

Icewaver just nodded. Once she was done she wrapped her arms around him and hugged her son tightly. Galle smiled as he turned and started to walk out. "I'm going to bed." He knew deep down that hardly anyone in the family will get a good sleep tonight.

His mother looked up to her son. "I know that you feel horrible..."

"No you don't," he said. She just stared at him. "Everyone's saying that they know how I feel." He stood up, taking a step away from his mother. "How can you know how I feel." He started to sniff as he looked like he was about to break down again.

She stood up and hugged him by the neck. "I've lost dear ones too pup, and also I'm your mother." The wolf just wrapped his arms around her as he closed his eyes and buried his head into her shoulder. She placed her paw on his head as she heard him sniffing, trying to hold back his tears once more. She just held onto him, giving him the comfort that he thought he didn't need. She soon started to hum into his ear a small lullaby she sang to him when he was young.

After the wolf calmed down she took him back to see his pup. She knew that he was going to stay by the human's side all night. They both passed the guards as the entered the room. She gave them a nod to signal that they all can leave, she kept a close eye on them till they were out of sight. The wolf turned to see her son give the human a kiss on the lips and nuzzle him under the chin.

'He really loves him,' she thought to herself as she walked up to her son. Icewaver looked up at his mother and closed his eyes as she bent down and gave him a kiss on the forehead. She sadly looked at the resting human and kissed him on the forehead as well. "Good night," she said as she walked out of the room.

"Night," the wolf said as he gently crawled into the bed and slowly slipped his arm under Kyo's head. "I love you," he said as he kissed the human once more on the lips. The wolf brought his other paw over and rubbed the side of the human's cheek. Icewaver laid his head down beside the human while wrapping his arm around his neck and drawing him into a tight hug.

"Pup, I'm here for you," the wolf whispered while he closed his eyes to see if he can get some sleep.

...................................

Galle woke up in the middle of the night as he sat up on the edge of his bed. He ran his fingers through his head fur as he groaned from lack of sleep. The wolf stood up, walked over to the closet and put on a pair of pants before heading out. He walked to Kyo's room and stood in the doorway, the wolf couldn't help but smile as he was that his son was cuddled up as close as he could to the human. His smile didn't last long as the thought of what happened to the young kid came back to his memory.

"Father," the wolf heard as he broke out of his daze, realizing that he had been staring. He looked up to see his son was looking at him.

The wolf entered the room and sat beside the bed. "You know you need to get some rest," the wolf said quietly, as if he could wake Kyo up if he was too loud.

The wolf looked back down at his pet. "I've tried but can't," he responded.

The big wolf placed his paw on Icewaver's shoulder. "You get too worked up."

"I know..." The wolf sat up a bit in the bed. "But can you blame me." He looked at his father and flattened his ears to his head.

Galle shook his head. "Na, I really can't," the wolf said before standing up and walking out of the room. "If you mother asked, I went out for a run to clear my head," he said as he walked out of the room and down the hall, once more leaving the wolf alone with Kyo.

The wolf kept walking till he got outside and dashed into a full on sprint. 'I hope today will be a better day,' he thought to himself as he felt the wind blow through his fur while he ran towards town.

To be continued...
