#1 of Blades and Brush

This is a story I could never get around to making and, honestly, the plot was flip flopping between what it should be vs. what it could be and honestly it was just a hassle thinking of the right shit to do.

Hello, there, dear reader. I am the Rabbit Prince Eadelmarr of Loukussa. Although, perhaps some context is needed in order to understand the land in which I speak, as well as the title I currently hold.

Allow me, then, to explain. Our country goes by the name K'tal Macht. This country is divided by kingdoms of varying economy, divided even more by the amount of land between them, as well as the species residing in said kingdoms. They are each home to different species, based on environmental factors and, as such, varying ecosystems.

In this land of-in your terms-medieval status-peace hangs upon a thread of trade. Should such thread be cut, then war would break out and this country would return to its once desolate wastelands.

You see, in this country, there are 6 kingdoms and a single battlefield that lay in the center of all of them. Though, there may be one, it is no less large than three kingdoms clashed together-The average size of all of them being ~50 mi in diameter. Everyone refers to this land as the "Field of Sorrow", as it is said to be haunted by the spirits of the billion soldiers who died by the hands of their enemies only a millennia ago.

The "Great War", as we call it, had gone on for a merciless 513 years and was halted abruptly by what we now refer to as an "Elder Dragon".

His flames had scorched the battleground and his eyes were full of fury. However, even as he showered the land in his burning rage, some say a tear rolled down his blood red scales, as if he felt the guilt of a thousand sinners whilst ending the many lives he did. Solely with his flam did he curse the soldiers of all species to forever walk with nothing but sorrow upon the land, showing their charred war stories wherever their souls wandered.

Following the genocide, The Elder Dragon salvaged the few survivors-children were they of each species-to start new lives in different parts of the country.

One century after another, villages were built, progressing into larger ones and, soon, into fortified Kingdoms.

Despite the distance, all began to warship the great winged beast, or the seven as the people of the country'd later discovered. All learned his name to be "Ykarren, the Gentle". Despite his name, he seemed to be one of the most powerful of the seven. The names of all of them go as follows from the strongest to the weakest, as well as from youngest to oldest.

Birsainth, the Small -Pitch black scales like his brother Dursym, their difference being Birsainth's gold claws and larger horns. Due to his misleading size and great power, he is seen as the strongest by not only the people, but his siblings as well.

Grorvud, the Timeless -A feathered beast with scales of a deep green. She who is said to have control of time itself

Ykarren, the Gentle -He of nurture, patience and kindness. Scales of blood red and black belly, the cause of the new age of kingdoms, yet the most reserved.

Junzeiro of Silence -He more of action than words, silencing those who speak ill in his presence by snatching their tongues. More snake-like then dragon, scales a pale green, his claws small but sharp with a venomous tint of red.

Tuddrantu of the Skies -A feathered beast as well, colored like a blue phoenix. She who controls the very clouds in the sky, bringing rain to those who need, as well as, deserve it.

Dursym, the Nocturnal -The hunter of the seven, he is said to have once helped during a great famine of the Mountain Kingdom

*Jyress, the Wise- * Silver scaled with white hair trailing down her back. As the name implies, Jyress is of great wisdom and great clairvoyance

The father, shining black scales and once glowing red eyes, and mother, feathered and scaled blue with beautiful emerald eyes, had been surpassed by all of their children, but are all respected as the elders they are, or once were. The father had died of old age and his body made into a kingdom with permission from the council of his sons and daughters, and the mother was presumed dead not long after, as she went missing and hadn't appeared after the great war had been ended by Ykarren. Some say she was struck with sorrow like the many who died by her son's actions, flying off and never to be seen again.

The Kingdoms spawned from the war are named by which species are most prevalent in the area, as well as who rules it.

Barter: Aldenor-The mountain Kingdom of Goats and Dragons ruling the same, known for the water running through it being the purest in the land

None: Aistibet-Kingdom in the sky, ruled by Great Mages, widely known as both a home and school for young mages wishing to learn the great arts.

Capitalist Monarchy: Draco Ventris-"Dragon Belly" ruled by Dragons, known most for its alcohol of great quality

Capitalist Monarchy: Velon-Kingdom of the plains, ruled by humans, widely known for their livestock

Capitalist Monarchy: Loukussa-Ruled by Rabbits, widely known for their medicinal herbs and ointments

Communist Patriarchy: Salux-Kingdom of the desert, known for their harsh punishments and weaponry

And thus ends the tale of the past, as we move on to the present and soon the future.
