Rat Tale Ch.3 The Procedure
Where to start? Well if we wanted to try anything that meant Gerald would need an online presence. There were plenty of websites made for the purpose of connecting people, but very few that revolved specifically around what we were going for. We came across a site named "Friends and Friendlys" that was close enough to what we needed. Gerald and I started working on his page that Saturday while his parents were out. It was nice to have the house to ourselves. After making breakfast and getting our plates to the table we got into the finer details.
Parker- so what exactly are you OK with doing
Gerald - I don't know, what are you OK with me doing
Parker- if you leave it up to me you'll end up doing nothing, I can really only imagine you doing this stuff in the abstract right now
Gerald - well maybe I shouldn't charge by the ...act , may I should charge by the hour
Parker - you want to charge by the hour? You realize that means you'd have to go for at least an hour
Gerald- well yea
Parker- you barely last 20 minutes with me
Gerald - well what if I take an up front fee and then charge for every 30 minutes
Parker- I guess that's more reasonable
Honestly I didn't know if any of it was reasonable, it was all crazy. None the less I typed in the prices and charges.
Parker- OK we need a name for your page
Gerald- a name ? Why can't I just use my name
Parker- you don't want your name on this , what if someone you know sees it like your boss
Gerald - didn't you already tell people at the clinic I was doing this
Parker- that's different
Gerald - how is that different
Parker- I already have a job that I'm happy with , but if you try to get a new job somewhere this would probably get in your way
Gerald - OK , well how about, G-spot
Parker- no
Gerald - Happy Endings
Parker- taken
Gerald- The Open Door
Parker- taken
Gerald - Rat Tail
Parker- you really want people thinking about your tail
Gerald - OK then Rat "Tale" with a,l,e instead of a,i,l
I scratched my head for a moment thinking, but I wasn't coming up with anything better.
Parker- sure
I typed in the new name , and that only left us with three steps.
Parker- alright now all we need is a place you plan on meeting people to do this stuff, set times that you'll be available, and a picture then you can go live
Gerald - I hadn't thought about that , we can't do it here
Parker- why not
Gerald - my dad would kill us if he knew I was doing something like this in his house, especially after what we did to his favorite couch
Parker- I don't know why he's so high sprung, I bought a new couch
Gerald - but it wasn't his theater couch
Parker - OK , but we still need a place for you to do this stuff
Gerald - why not at the clinic
Parker- the clinic?
Gerald - you don't get many patients, and aren't all the examination rooms sound proofed
Parker- yea , but I work there
Gerald - it's just an idea
Parker- I don't think it be the best idea to invite strangers from online into places we frequent or live anyway, last thing we need is them coming back uninvited without warning
Gerald - then what If I go to them
Parker- that's risky, very risky, and I'm starting to think maybe this is a bad idea again
Gerald - remember you said we wouldn't know for sure how we felt about it until we actually tried it, we're not setting up for the long haul, we're just trying it out
Parker- OK ... but that reminds me , I want to meet whoever your doing stuff with before they get anywhere near you
Gerald -like my body guard
Parker- more like your concerned boyfriend who wants to make sure your safe
Gerald - alright then anyone who wants to talk to me or anything else has to go through you first
Parker -now all we need is a time for all of this to happen
Gerald - we're both off on the weekends
Parker- yea but I don't want this happening on our "us days", we hardly see each other anymore unless we're in bed sleeping
Gerald- how about Tuesday evenings and nights, I get off early on Tuesday's
Parker - I still have to work at the clinic on Tuesdays
Gerald- Fridays?
Parker - maybe, I could push back my usual appointment with Mason and that would leave us with most of the morning
Gerald - and I can work all day Tuesdays so that I can come in late on Fridays
Parker- alright then your set to do business Friday mornings
I put in the last bit of info leaving only one element left to be entered.
Parker- now all we need is a picture
Gerald - so I can't use my name , but actual pictures of myself are OK
Parker- we won't leave your face in any of them
Gerald - oh
Parker- it's kinda like Strange Fruit, only now guys will have to show you their faces before they get to see yours, the pictures of you are just so they'll have an idea of who they're talking to
By the time we finished everything on Gerald's new page our food was cold. I don't think anything was more on our mind than the new business venture.
Honestly the longer we worked on the site the more I saw it wasn't just about making money to move out. Making extra money was a by product. Gerald liked being wanted and that was the main factor moving us into the lane. I could understand his feelings. Growing up neither of us had it easy when it came to romantic life because we weren't one of those highly saute after species.
It was just sex. Nothing too complicated. If having fun with a few new people would give my rat the self-esteem boost he was looking for then I was all game. But the more we worked on making the idea real the more I began to worry.
Eventually we ate our food , cold as it was, and afterwards we went upstairs to take pictures for the Rat Tale page. Taking nude pictures of my boyfriend was hot for me, but awkward for him. It might have been some of the most fun I'd had with my phone in a while. Putting those pictures online was another story. In the end I cropped out all of his more sensitive bits until we were left with pictures of him standing shirtless in front of a movie poster.
Parker- and done
Gerald - really, that's all
Parker- now we just hit publish and to let people see it
Gerald - how will they contact us
Parker- There's an app we can download that'll connect your page to our phones, then whenever someone sends you a message we'll both get it in like a group chat room that only we can see , all we have to do is hit enter
We hesitated...for a long while.
Gerald - I don't want you to think your not enough
Parker - I don't think that
Gerald - how are you so calm
Parker - I'm not , I'm terrified, but it's exciting, it's different, it'll bring some money in , you'll get to have some fun
Gerald- with people that aren't you, and there's no telling what they'll want or how demanding they'll be
Parker- are you trying to talk me out of it , because your doing a good job if you are
Gerald - I want you to know they won't mean anything to me
Parker - that's not true
Gerald - It has to be true
Parker- then this wouldn't be the business venture you'd be going for , babe it's OK , I know you like people, and you want them to like you too , so I'm not asking you to not like anyone, I'm not asking you to feel nothing, as long as I'm the one your with , the one your really with , then everything is OK
Gerald - your sure
Parker - as sure as I'm going to be
He took a deep breath and I did too.
Gerald - OK
Parker - OK?
Gerald - Hit it
I hit enter, and then we waited.
