Smokey was on the beach, just enjoying himself. There was a concert he was only mildly interested in until he saw who was in it, the lead singer captured his attention and his imagination. As well as the libido of another dragon. A larger, buffer, more imposing dragon. So, without really realizing what he was doing, Smokey ended up getting wrapped up in a surfing contest, since that's how such disputes were settled on beaches, right?

This was written differently some years ago, then I decided to give it an edit pass to change a few details.

The sand was hot. It scorched the uncovered paws of a blue dragon standing before a simple stage erected on the beach, but he didn't care. He simply continued to bob his head in time with the music, ignoring the pain searing his soles. Those were overrated anyway.

On stage, the band played loud enough to make everyone's ears ring, but no one seemed to care. The music had taken everyone, including the guitarist. She was why Smokey was so unaware of the inferno beneath him. The ivory-hued dragoness played as though it would be her last time picking up the instrument, passion for the act flowing from her fingers, across the strings, and through the amplifier. The volume had to be maxed out, distorting just enough to give the sound the edge they wanted. The lady's mane sparkled in its opal, silvery sheen as it was tossed about, the ends tinted a lovely sky blue. She was a spirited one this dragoness.

The crowd writhed, mashing against one another as the song carried on, then dissolved into a deafening roar of cheers and applause as the band finished. They were good. Some of the ladies of the audience were already taking their tops off to try and garner the attention of the lead singer. And many of the boys kept their eyes locked on the guitarist. Her nonchalant dismissal of their affection drove them wild and inspired all manner of foolishness. But not Smokey. No, he was too quiet a soul for that. Instead, he found himself simply staring at the lady, Shayna was her name. He hadn't the foggiest idea of what he could do to get her to notice him.

"Outta the way runt." A burly, heavy voice pierced the bedlam of the crowd, but only due to proximity.

It was hardly enough warning. In seconds, the blue drake found himself face down in the very burning sands he had been ignoring for so long. He cried out and tried to pull himself away as he turned to sit up. Two hands held his snout protectively, hoping to sooth the blasted heat away. He whimpered and rubbed the site as he finally came to realize what his paws were complaining about. Smokey lifted his eyes to gaze up at the massive jade figure standing over him, but not facing him. A large, muscular back was all he could see before a flick of the powerful tail connected to its base lashed across his face, sending him sprawling again; almost cartoonishly. A typical 'beach hunk'.

"Hey baby, why don't we go somewhere? I got a shack not far from here." The bodybuilder of a dragon smiled in a manner he thought was charismatic. It only came off as one part smarmy and two parts trying-too-hard.

Shayna flipped her hair out of her face to get a better look at the impressively sized male standing at the edge of the stage looking up at her, dressed in nothing more than a pair of trunks. She didn't seem fazed.

"What's your name?" She asked, thoroughly uninterested.

"Aron." He continued to smile, leaning on the edge of the stage. He began to 'playfully' walk his fingers over the wooden planks towards her paw, even daring to 'jog' them up her ankle. She didn't bother to pull away.

"Well, Aron, why don't you head back to that shack of yours, and I'll meet you there." She sounded at least somewhat genuine.

The green adonis' eyes lit up, "Really!?"

"No. Get lost. I'm not into meat heads." Shayna's voice dropped into the realm of annoyed.

Smokey had managed to collect himself as he witnessed the sight before him, frowning as he tried to climb back to his paws and hurry back over to the edge of the stage.

"C'mon babe... you know you wanna. How can you resist this?" Aron pulled away just far enough to strike a pose and flex, shifting between a few different stances. He was very well built.

"I'm sorry. I don't speak moron. What does 'get lost' actually mean in your language?" She was a fiery one this lady.

And all it seemed to do was spur the green one on.

"Admit it. You're turned on." He flashed his smile again.

"She said no. Take the hint and leave already." Smokey grumbled loudly, still nursing the bruise beginning to develop on his cheek.

He wasn't sure if the move was brave or stupid.

"What was that?" Aron spun slowly, bringing an angry stare to lock onto the smaller blue, only a little more than half as tall as him, and nowhere near as toned.

"You heard me. Get outta here. She doesn't wanna talk to you." It was all Smokey could do to hide the quake in his voice.

"Thank you sweetie, but I can handle this," Shayna interrupted, "Go get that looked at before he makes it worse."

There was actual concern in her voice. It made the blue fellow lift a paw to cup against the bruise showing on his cheek.

"Nah, he can stay as long as he likes. I like a good punching bag. Wonder if you'll last longer than my last one!" The jade dragon stepped in closer to the smaller blue, his chest puffing out to look even larger than it was.

The blue decided in that instant just what kind of move it was. Stupid. Definitely stupid. Smokey cringed as a fist was balled and flew, but he didn't budge. When the pain didn't come, the blue slowly opened a single eye to find the angry fist hovering in front of his nose. After what seemed like an eternity, it pulled away and the large, green fellow laughed heartily.

"You got balls, I'll say that, kid. Either that or you don't have enough sense to come in outta the rain. Tell ya what, since I'd clearly turn you into paste in a fight, why don't we settle this another way?" The 'magnanimous' Aron decided to stay his hand in lieu of some other form of humiliation he could dole out without looking like too much of a bully.

Shayna rolled her eyes. She was clearly done with the whole situation.

"Whatever, if you two are gonna go feral, do it without me." Without another word, she turned to walk away to check on the tuning of her guitar.

She hated it when guys fought over her, but she did quietly hope the smaller blue would put the larger green in his place. He kind of deserved it. Though how he would do that eluded her at the moment. It eluded Smokey too.

"What did you have in mind?" the smaller dragon inquired while masking his uneasiness.

Maybe he should have stayed out of this. He'd gotten himself into a rather nasty little spot.

"A surf contest. Whoever can ride higher. If I win, I get the girl, and you get to spend the rest of the day buried up to your neck in sand." Aron grinned.

He was renowned for his skills in such matters. Or at least in his mind he was. He was talented, sure. But he tended to overestimate the fame it brought him. It was certainly more than enough to beat a tiny little thing like the creature standing there, staring up at him.

"If I win, you leave her alone!" The smaller blue fellow tried to muster his powers of intimidation, which weren't much to begin with.

Aron simply laughed. It was loud enough to catch the attention of quite a few people in earshot.

"Right! The day you beat me is the day I bow down and do your bidding! C'mon small fry!" He slapped the back of Smokey's head lightly and indignantly.

Smokey winced a bit and followed, heading down the beach a short ways to where the large, green one kept his board. Shayna rolled her eyes, having heard the whole arrangement.

"Kid's gonna get himself killed." She mused to herself.

Still, she'd love to see the big idiot waiting on the blue dragon hand and foot. Smokey was given a loaner board and the two paddled out into the open water. The wait for a proper wave wasn't long, but the entire time, Aron made sure to berate and bully his competition. He splashed at him at inopportune times, called him names, and even went so far as to knock him off his board occasionally.

Eventually, a wave swelled behind them and they both paddled away, working to catch the motion. Soon, both boards were being carried along by the water and the two dragons both popped up. Aron's expertise was apparent. Smokey's lack-there-of was noticeable, but he fared a bit better than most first timers. It surprised the green beast. He was dismayed at his opponent's ability to keep up--and at the same time--he found a hint of respect for him. It wasn't easy for someone new to surfing to jump up so quickly.

"Not bad, kid! Not bad! Guess there are advantages to being a lightweight like you! But I'm a veteran! Watch this!" Aron swiveled his hips and drove his board in a new direction, aiming into the wave, and up along its surface. He didn't feel the need to push too hard, expecting his newbie competition to wipe out in mere moments.

Smokey refused to give in. Partly because he just wanted to shut the big green dope up, and partly because he was sure if he wiped out, it would hurt. He shifted his feet in a subtle experiment, finding the new position to angle him in a direction not unlike the green. He was still lower then Aron, so he grew a little bolder and angled his board in further. Unfortunately, it was too much. Immediately, the blue dragon found himself careening up the face of the wave, aiming for the crest where he was sure he would lose control and fall into the brine below.

The green hulk watched out of the corner of an eye, head turned just enough to witness the moment without taking his attention too much off his own efforts. He cackled seeing Smokey lose control and swing far too high. The board left the water at the crest and Aron grinned triumphantly. It didn't count if you weren't in command of your board. Little did he realize what was actually happening.

Gasps filled the beach and stares of amazement locked onto the pair, specifically the blue, as he was launched into the air, but suddenly righted himself. He had wings after all! With two paws clutching the board, he rode it back down to the wave gently, alighting almost effortlessly on the very apex where the water had frothed into a white border. The unexpected stunt put him in front of the muscle-bound creature he had been attempting to shame.

"What!? How the hell!? That's cheating!" Aron was livid, hurling obscenities at the unsteady Smokey, watching him stand back up and fight to keep his balance.

For a precious few moments, the blue retained control of his board. But then, the inevitable happened. Smokey's center of mass shifted just a little too far towards the face of the wave and he felt himself lose his balance. With a terrific cry of dismay, he fell from on high. Directly towards Aron.

Aron cried out in alarm as well as the gaping, frantic blue dragon approached all too hastily. And then the world went dark. A tremendous splash obscured the pair as Aron was thrown from his board as well, and the both of them were consumed by the wave. Onlookers watching the spectacle gasped in horror while a few charged into the surf to render assistance. Neither dragon surfaced, only their boards, suggesting that perhaps they had been injured and dragged down below. Members of the audience dove into the water, racing to come to their aid. As they swam deeper, the sand and foam cleared from the water and revealed something rather surprising.

Seated on the floor of the ocean, sunk a few inches into the sand, was the blue that had startled and amazed everyone. He groaned and whined as an expression of discomfort contorted his face. His hands and arms squeezed at a monstrous bulge in his middle, writhing and churning away furiously. He didn't seem to be drowning, in fact he seemed to be just fine for air. He was a water dragon after all. Sure he was a freshwater dragon, but salt water worked well enough for a little while before it became a problem. As the group approached to assist, his fins swished in the water, revealing a pair of gills just behind them. At least he wasn't in desperate need to surface.

Smokey's enormous gut writhed furiously. It was clear that when he fell off his board and fell on top of Aron, mouth open. The force of the drop, and the force of the wave crashing down on top of them both, pushed him over the bigger green drake. So hard, in fact, that it forced the expert surfer right down his throat. From the strength of his struggling and the muffled, gurgling, growling noises, it was easy to tell the beach bully was quite unhappy. With great effort from at least three spectators, the blue was hoisted to his paws in spite of his sudden girth, and began trying to haul him to shore.

As the rescue team emerged from the waves, a cheer erupted from the audience as soon as they spotted the blue drake's head. When they saw what had happened to his opponent, everyone was shocked. Some gasped in horror, some cheered even louder, and a few concealed jealousy. Some were jealous of the blue getting to eat Aron. Some were jealous of Aron being the one to get eaten. None of them would dare admit it.

Smokey was brought onto the dry sand under a large umbrella. He whined and huffed, finding it difficult to breathe with something so large stuffed in him. His stomach was quite angry, a series of swears and insults rising up from within, heavily muffled. Every time Aron kicked or punched, a visible lump pushed out of the larger dome, and made Smokey wince and belch noisily. The stuffed blue simply groaned and held his huge gut.

"God, I feel like I'm gonna explode!" He whined.

"It's a good look for you. Nice job putting him in his place." It was Shayna, grinning as she stared over the monstrous, writhing mound of dragon flesh.

She even dared to sit down and give it a firm rub. She was impressed with the fact that he had managed to actually beat the big green clod, but even more so with his gastronomic fortitude. The quiet strokes of her palms over the bloated, tightly stretched belly suggested perhaps there was something about the notion she found appealing on some level. In fact, she rather did, and it attracted her to the stuffed fellow.

The blue hadn't the capacity to consider her attraction to someone devouring another person, not while his stomach ached and bellowed at him.

"I don't know how to get him out." Smokey whimpered, clearly suffering from a cataclysmic level of indigestion.

The vast swell, so big he could lay on top of it and not reach the ground, gurgled noisily and angrily as it churned about. Aron was far larger than he was, and now he was immobile, the green crammed serendipitously into his stomach to await whatever fate would come. The bloat continued to turn about; hand-paws, foot-paws, and even face visibly stretching the already abused flesh.

The ivory-hued rock star pressed in against the odd lumps the blue's meal was causing, grinning a little at the lewd noises and sloshes that came about because of her efforts.

"I say don't worry about it. It's his own stupid fault for wanting to get into a pissing match. You showed him who's boss, and then you ate him. Like a true dragon!" Shayna cackled, giving the blue's stomach a firm squeeze, unable to get her arms around it.

The act forced air to escape, swiftly working its way up the blue drake's throat until a mighty belch sounded across the beach. His skin pulled tighter around his occupant, restricting his movement a bit more. It didn't keep him from fighting, but it did make it more difficult to keep it up. The noise amused Shayna greatly and she attempted to squeeze the gargantuan gut again. Alas, it didn't yield the same result. Perhaps if she waited a bit, he might end up swallowing enough air to squeeze back out in hearty burp.

Smokey just whined again, pinching his eyes shut. He'd be in agony for days, if not weeks. Aron would have to come out at some point. And there was no telling if he would honor the bet. In fact, there was no telling if he would simply turn on the blue dragon and try to beat him up, devour him, or both in that order.

Then there came a result he had not expected. The angry green fellow slowed his struggles, still growling but no longer wasting his time trying to punch his way out.

"Okay, I'll say it. You won. It was a sneaky trick you pulled, flying to get to the top of the wave. But you nearly wiped out getting there, so I'm guessing it wasn't on purpose," Aron said, then gave a loud huff, "It wasn't bad for a newbie."

"Oh, so now you're respecting him? Only after he managed to eat you?" Shayna asked, clearly wanting the green meat-head to suffer a bit more indignity.

Aron remained quiet for a moment, his cheeks no doubt bright red with anger and embarrassment.

"Look, I admitted he won, what else do you people want from me? Just get me out of here. It's already bad enough that people know saw what happened. The longer I stay in here, the worse my reputation will be." the green fellow said.

Like before, Smokey found himself somewhat emboldened, and like before, he couldn't tell if it was brave or stupid. Likely the latter, but this was a golden opportunity he couldn't pass up.

"Are you gonna honor the deal?" the blue fellow asked.

"I'm not gonna be your servant!" Aron roared.

"Fine, maybe not wait on my ever desire, but are you gonna at least be nicer to me? And leave someone alone if they aren't interested?" Smokey asked.

"Leave the lady alone, fine. But if you don't let me outta hear now, I'm gonna pound you when I -do- get out." the green bully said.

"Well, that's not much incentive for me to let you out then. Guess you're staying put until you change your mind. If you ever do. I hope you like seafood, 'cause that's pretty much all you're gonna get." the blue dragon said, trying to sound nonchalant about it.

It wasn't terribly convincing when his stomach was hurting so much. Aron was going to be a serious pain for the duration. He knew it. Shayna meanwhile simply giggled, enjoying his show of dominance over the big lug, who she believed had clearly deserved what he got. She leaned over and gave Smokey a slow, tender kiss. It wasn't deeply passionate, but it was certainly more than just an appreciative little peck on the cheek. At least he'd won the girl, right?
