My first story on this site. The backstory of my main fursona, Skylar.

This is my first time uploading on this website, and my first time fully writing the backstory for Skylar. The story will be in parts, but the full story will be here eventually. My writing tends to get better as it goes along, so please bear with me. That said, lets begin.

Non-transformative. A label that had stuck with me my entire life. Some packs have a practise of killing the non-transformatives in their pack. It's a simple task; we're known to be smaller and weaker, and there's only usually one of us per litter. Other packs are against this practise, and opt instead to abandon us, leaving us to figure out how to survive for ourselves. I was from a pack that chose to abandon its non-transformatives. I managed to teach myself to walk, but I never knew how to go about teaching myself to hunt. I'd never seen anybody do it before, and I wasn't even given an account of what it's like. So, with no knowledge of how to gather food, and the only attempt I found myself able to make ending up with me being injured, I found myself close to death. That is when, at the age of three, I had my first stroke of luck.

____"Hey, Sugar, I found something!" I heard someone yell. A male, by the sound of his voice. Before to long, two werewolves had approached me. One was male, as I had thought. He had black hair, black ears and a black tail. He wore a red shirt, black jeans, and surprisingly chose to go everywhere barefoot. The other was female. Her hair, ears and tail, apart from the dark grey patch that resembled a love heart, were all white, which was a stark contrast to her darker skin tone. She wore all white, but her clothes were stained with grass and mud. She wore white combat boots. They both had glimmering yellow eyes, as opposed to my own relatively dull brown ones.

"A child? What is a child doing out here?" The female, who's name I assumed was Sugar, asked.

"I don't know, why don't you ask it?" The male asked.

"Now isn't the time to be an idiot, Daz," Sugar repl. She picked me up and seemed to examine me, then she held me close. "It's okay, kid. We'll keep you safe."

"I suppose we'd better take him to the Alpha, huh," Daz said.

_____We walked for about half a day before we reached a cave at the foot of a cliff. We didn't pass many people on our way to the Alpha, but as soon as I saw him, I instantly knew he was in control. His hair, ears and tail were a dark, bluish shade of purple. He wore a black suit, with a purple ascot tie necktie. He had on a black cloak with purple lining. He was taller than anyone I had ever seen or, in fact, would ever see. His eyes were also yellow, but they didn't shine like Sugar or Daz's did. Currently, he stared at me in disgust as I was presented to him.

"What is that?" He asked. His voice was deep and rapsy, and his stare was cold.

"It is a child, sir. We found him in the woods," Sugar replied. Daz seemed to freeze in place, his ears flat against his head and his breathing becoming quick and heavy.

"And what business did either of you have bringing it here?" The Alpha asked.

"Well... I thought that the pack could use an extra hunter. You have been talking about how there is a food shortage, recently and I thought another hunter might solve the problem. We can teach him how to hunt, and he can help us," Sugar explained.

"I see," the Alpha replied. "He looks awfully pathetic, for a hunter."

"He is only still a child, sir. He has time to learn and grow," Sugar explained. Something in her voice almost sounded to be pleading. After a moment, the Alpha said,

"Very well. You can keep it and train it. But if it proved not to be useful, I'll kill it myself."

______After we had moved to another part of the den, Daz remarked,

"Man, I hate that guy."

"Who doesn't?" Sugar asked. "But hating him doesn't change the fact that he's in control. And at least we got to keep this child with us."

"Speaking of which, we should name him. I mean, we can't keep calling him 'this child' forever," Daz stated.

"I kind of like the name Skylar. I mean, I knew someone named Skylar once, and they were amazing," Sugar said.

"Well, you're more creative with names than I am. Skylar it is, then."
