#4 of Two Worlds (Finished)

"No... No way! Not in this lifetime!" Kevin dropp...

"No... No way! Not in this lifetime!" Kevin dropped his bag and entered his room which was now invaded by Demetrius, who was dripping water all over Kevin's carpet. Great, how was he going to explain this to their maid?

"Why not?" The husky let his ears fall to the side and his folded arms fell to his sides, "We get hungry too, you know..." His tail stopped wagging and almost went in between his legs a bit, like a normal dog.

"Because you're a walking dog! How would I explain this to my family?" Kevin walked over to his closet and stepped in, the walls on all fours sides were covered in clothes, one wall with causal, another with normal, and another with pyjamas. He walked over to his casual wall.

Demetrius drug his feet across the carpet and into the closet, following Kevin, "Yeah, that's kind of true... Well bring back some food then." He shrugged and inhaled the scent of the closet, it smelled like Kevin completely. It was smothered in his usual smell but with a hint of another? "Why do I smell another person in this room?"

"What?" Was that jealousy in the husky's voice? "Oh! My brother, he takes my clothes sometimes when he has a date, I let him sometimes. You probably smell him because he was on a date last night."

"That's not the only thing I smell with your brothers scent." Demetrius replied with a sly voice.

Kevin tensed and choked up a bit, "He was with a girl last night--oh god, no!" Clearly that mental image of his brother having sex was not needed. Forcing it out of his head he turned to the husky, angry, "Will you go back to your world?"

"Not unless you come with me." He shrugged as if it was something he'd normally shrug off, like the question was rhetorical.

"Ain't gonna happen." Kevin snapped without even letting Demetrius have another statement, "How did we even get into our worlds, anyway?" Kevin grabbed a tuxedo from a hanger and tossed it onto the carpet, as if it was an old piece he wanted to get rid of or he'd already worn it too many times.

Demetrius opened his mouth to answer but unfortunately for him Kevin's mother beat him to the chase, "Kevin, hurry up we're gonna be late!" She called the in-house intercom system, which was placed by the closet door and in Kevin's bedroom and bathroom. Demetrius laughed and closed his mouth, "I'll tell you this, you get dressed for your dinner party and leave me here to starve, while I head into your bathroom to have a nice bath. I'm feeling... mucky." He looked himself over and grinned, leaving Kevin to pick an outfit and change before Demetrius held him up any longer.

Turning the faucet on was a new thing he came to figure out. Usually the servants at the palace would have their nice warm bath ready for the knights, but this, this was like trying to figure out how to make a horse roll over. At first Demetrius would pull on it but it never budged one bit, so being frustrated the Husky resorted to a new way that usually works for human, kicking the damn thing. The faucet on the wall immediately turned and the hot water spilled out like a rapid waterfall. Kevin's bathroom was a large one, probably about the same size of a normal master bedroom but without the closet. The toilet was sparkling clean and just gave a scent of lemon, and the counter held two sinks with a wall that had a mirror large enough in width to show four people. The Bathtub is what had Demetrius fall in love, it was big enough to lie back and relax in! The tubs in the palace were only a sit up bathtub, which was surprisingly hurtful to a knight's back.

Easing into the tub, Demetrius laid back and let his sore aches and pains soothe out of his body, the water steamed upward and filled the bathroom with a nice fog that set the mood to a relaxed, sleepy mood. Sighing a long exasperated breath, Demetrius thought of how he was going to face the anthro world without being humiliated. Once Demetrius would step out into the open, eyes would be drilled onto him and words would whisper under the open air, saying and repeating the things that were most likely untrue. Rumours of being engaged to another male would be the most thing Demetrius would hear.

The truth was, was that Demetrius honestly never swung that way ever, and to his defence he never thought about dating or engagement at all. He worried about being over protective of his so called 'Loved One'. He liked to be single, he thought a relationship would get in the way of his duties and responsibilities would pound on his shoulders more than the ones he carried then. No one ever expected an engagement happening and neither did Demetrius himself, the whole thing was... forced onto him and Kevin. If Kevin hadn't carried that dagger the two would never have been in this situation in the first place. Not that Demetrius was blaming Kevin but it was his fault in the first place, anyway.

The Husky grabbed a rag and rubbed his face with it, the scent of soap overwhelming his nostrils, followed by Kevin's scent. Demetrius moved the cloth away from his face slowly, putting it aside and laying his head back in disgust.

Closing his eyelids, his vision became a black space with many different sparkles and rainbow toned colours waving around, thinking of the one word that spelt out in pink and green: Shit...

Waking up with a groan, Demetrius opened up his eyes which blurred, the rooms light illuminated a golden orange that looked like a torch from the Kings palace--"Huh?" Demetrius opened his eyes wide to find himself in his living quarters. He lay on his bed--which felt like hay and rocks--and looked around.

He was back in the palace.

"Demetrius...?" The husky nearly yelped when a familiar voice sounded and looked beside him on his bed. As if being smacked head on with a warhorse Demetrius' eyes burst open and gaped his muzzle wide open. Lying on his side, Kevin eyes blinked open, trying to get the sleep out of his eyes and focus on what's happening. At least he made out Demetrius so far.

The husky couldn't believe it when Kevin was back in his world again, a second ago he was taking a bath--Shit! Demetrius thought, looking down at himself to find him wearing no clothing, just sitting on his bed next to Kevin, nude. His head bolted in Kevin's direction, which was still blinking to clear his vision from the drowsiness.

"Gah!" Demetrius bolted up off his bed and ran across the bedroom bare footed, the sound of his paws slapping against the carpet and had Kevin focus his eyes more. When Kevin cleared his vision, all he saw was a mid-evil time bedroom suite: A bed on one end with two nightstands next to it, a usual red and black carpet with a design of a paw inside of a shield, showing the courage and strength as a symbolism. Across the room were a dresser with some candles and books on it, wax seeping down the sides like blood falling slowly down an arm and an oak table adjacent, the table was full of books and scrolls that could give enough knowledge to sixty people in four days.

"Where..." Kevin trailed off, still too tired to be caring about anything at the moment.

"You're in my world..." Demetrius walked out from another room in a cloak that appeared to look like a robe, "Welcome to Arella, city of the Angels."

"Arella? Is this what your world is like?" Kevin asked, looking down to rub his eyes from blurriness.

"Yep," Said the Husky, "Kings, Queens, lords, ladies, knights--it's all true." He tightened his robe and looked at Kevin thoroughly.

"What?" Kevin looked down at himself, seeing he was wearing a green and black checkered sweater vest and black dress pants with fancy black shoes, the exact same clothing he wore at the--"The dinner... But, how am I here? The last thing I remember is sitting down and eating before resting my eyes a bit."

"And you fell asleep..." Demetrius said with a hint of acid added to his voice.

"I fell asleep?"

"Yes," The husky walked up to Kevin and sat on the end of the bed, looking him in the eyes, "When you closed your eyes, you have fallen asleep. Thus you came to my world." Demetrius looked at Kevin, who was confused. Sighing, Demetrius had to explain it in a whole new way, "Okay, here's how the world change works. You and I are engaged--"

Kevin opened his mouth to protest, but was cut off with a hand raised, "You and I are engaged," He continued, "and being engaged, the blood we share makes a connection between us. It tells us more about each other than people shouldn't or don't know. Since we share that connection, we are connected in a different way than what the anthro world is normally used to.

"In the anthro world, when a couple shares blood their connections are shared and can stay together forever. But since you're a human and I'm an anthro, then our worlds are differently connected. The only way to pass onto another world we'd have to have a mage of many years of skill, or a human connection--which nobody in our world wanted anything to do with you people, especially the King. But when our blood crossed, we connected. Thus, we can go into each other's world and be with each other happily.

"But, there is an exception. The only way into our worlds is if one of us goes to sleep. Since you fell asleep at your parent's dinner party, your conscience brought you here, pausing your original world until you awake. Once you wake up, you'll be back to your dinner with your parent. But in order to wake up, I would have to go to sleep--sending me into your world and pausing my world till you fall asleep and we'd return back here."

"So what happens if we both aren't asleep?" Kevin asked, trying to absorb the information in one go.

"Then we can't be together, simple as that. But if we are both awake for more than twelve hours, then the blood we share will dense and become heavy, clotting our veins and--"

"--Putting us in a coma..." Kevin finished with a low voice, having a slight fear in his head about a coma. He thought back to when he was ten, his father was put into a coma, but took three years for him to wake up, "Then, wouldn't we be together forever? Not that I want to be together with you considering our situation but Because a coma is like sleeping... isn't it?"

Demetrius hesitated and looked away, "Yes, that is true."

"Then what is the problem?"

"Well," The husky rubbed the back of his ear and thought for a moment before, "Would you really want to throw away your life for a person? I mean, is it that necessary to sacrifice your life for one person--"

A knock on the door made the two jump a bit, "Lord Demetrius," Humphrey called in his usual lazy slur, "May we have a word?"

Demetrius looked at Kevin and sighed, wanting to continue their conversation but had to stand up and walk to the door. Humphrey was still the King's assistant and possibly had more authority than him. Opening the door in his robe, Humphrey stood with his usual straight posture and his hands behind his back, his red and black robe with ropes spiralling down his forearms shown dark in the torch lit hallway, the golden orange illuminated his right side, showing his tired and old features, "Sorry to disturb you, my Lord, but--" He stopped mid sentence as he managed to look over the husky, noticing Kevin on his bed and raising an eye ridge, looking back at Demetrius who was wearing a robe with the collar open like a V shape down past his chest, "Am I disturbing something?"

Demetrius looked baffled at first, but when he looked over his shoulder and at his robe, he immediately looked up at Humphrey, "No! No, Humphrey this isn't what it looks like!"

"I'm sure it's not," He said bemused, his expression looked like his usual bored but a Demetrius could have sworn the rat's mouth was twitching into a grin, "We'll talk another time then, I'll leave you two to your... duties." And before Demetrius could protest, that rat turned, his tail sliding against the floor from under the robe, wagging side to side a bit. Was Humphrey...?

"Demetrius?" Kevin asked as the Husky closed the door behind him, grabbing his collar and closing the open gap that revealed his chest, "whose Humphrey?"

"The Kings apprentice, don't trust him though he. He lives up to the title rat for a reason."

"I see." Kevin got up off Demetrius' bed and stretched the kinks from his arms and legs; Demetrius studied and never realized until Kevin relaxed and looked at him, "why are you in a robe? Whatever happened to your samurai pants?"

Demetrius groaned, "Don't ask..." And with that said he moved to his closet to change, today was going to be an interesting one.

Walking out in the kingdom together was awkward. Eyes would stare in disgust and sometimes the occasional hissing from the cats and lions and leopards, but not because of their engagement, it was because a human was in their world. Anthro's walked past the two in the market sector, stands on the side of the road filled with fruit and fish and souvenirs covered the oak wood tables. Kevin would have focused on them more if the looks weren't too deftly to him. It felt like his whole body was being pounded with multiple arrows, they hurt too much that the pressure would want Kevin to get a paper bag and put it over his head.

Demetrius on the other hand, wore his full on knights armour, his black plates covered his body while bits of golden chainmail in the joints shown to add better color affect. His twin daggers--that were longer than elbow length--were sheathed at his side, caressed into his golden utility belt that in the back had two long tails flowing along behind him with his tail, matching his black fur to the golden tail straps. In any case it was as if a character off a fantasy game only this time Kevin lived every Dungeons and Dragon players fantasy life, and some kids would kill to be in this life but knew it wasn't real...well, their wrong.

The Husky looked embarrassed, his facing down and not making eye contact with any of the other anthro's, he probably got the hints from the growls, "Demetrius?" Kevin started, looking at the knight instead of the glares, "Can we... Go back to the castle; I think I would feel safe there considering the murderous looks I'm getting. It's probably because I'm a human"

"Huh?" Demetrius snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Kevin, "Oh! Right, yeah sure we can but I'm gonna have to remain out here. It's my shift and I won't be off till later tonight, then we can head back to your world when I sleep. I recall still being in your bathtub." He remembered the hot water and how he relaxed, god he craved that tub so bad right now.

"Sure, okay... What am I going to do, then?" Kevin asked as they changed their direction to the palace, its features showing how much time it took to build such a clean and non-damaged castle.

"Well, the guards know about you and are informed not to touch you, not that they will considering how I'm the higher rank. They mess with you they'll deal with me. So you can roam the castle till I get back."

Kevin had a feeling in his gut something was going to happen. But usually he forgot about that kind of stuff, what could go wrong anyway?

Demetrius was right; the guards weren't going to touch him. They never even so much as gave a glare to him. Kevin was a walking immunity to the guards of Arella Castle, and Kevin kind of enjoyed the feeling of having a bit of immunity from the law enforcers. The hallway Kevin veered off into was a quiet and dark one, save for the torches that lit the hallways eerie features. The hallway had a long red carpet in the centre, acting like a road for the people walking and treating the shoulders of the red road like lava, they were so shiny that the cement shoulders looked like no one has ever stepped onto them in ages. It reminded him of his house.

The hallway never had paintings, not even antique vases on the shoulder of the carpet to show for display like his mother had in his house, everything in this hallway that covered the walls were a row of brown cherry wood doors and window sills. Clearly to Kevin this was the sleeping chamber hallway, and by the looks of outside the windows it was getting late and dark. Demetrius should be getting off his shift any moment now so he could return and help Kevin get back to his world. Not that he wanted to go back to a horrible dinner with his parents and friends, but being a rich kid had to involve the kids for publicity reasons.

"Oh, Lord Kevin, it's a pleasure to finally meet you face to face." A deep voice sent Kevin a shiver down his spine, turning around quickly to find a guard wearing the same knight's outfit as Demetrius, except the only difference to this guard was that he was a Tiger. His fur all orange but with simple black stripes, but the only thing that seems different was that the tip of his tail was bandaged around into a knot, as if it was just for looks. He stood tall, roughly the same height as Demetrius and more muscle added to his body than the Husky. He seemed to be giving off a weird vibe.

"H-hi." Kevin stuttered his greet with a shaky voice, no one has ever talked to him all day other than Demetrius, "Nice to meet you, uhm..." he trailed off.

"Oh sorry, where are my manners." He laughed, his teeth showing white and sharp, which sent another chill through Kevin, "My name is Damien." He bowed down with his fist held up to his chest. Kevin wondered if that was their salute of respect.

"Err, Damien. Right." He responded slowly and felt the need to break the silence with a question that didn't mean to come out the way it was said, "What brings you here?"

The Tiger chuckled lowly and looked Kevin in the eyes, his pupils almost like slit like a cats. His laugh moved into a grin, "Well, other than this hallway having my room, you could say I had my eye on a certain human." His grin grew slowly, his teeth shining in the torches light.

Damien took a step forward and gently pushed Kevin into the wall, large paws lightly claiming Kevin's arms as he knelt down to his height, face just inches away from Demetrius' Fiancée.
