A month later and I've come to the one thing I have been scared about the most, School. Sure I have been to school, but it was a Human school and I didn't have any friends. Now a week ago Harry sat me down and said that I would be going to a different school, One where my brothers and sister go to. He said that in this school there haven't been any Human students in a long time, but he said it was a great school. Of course I was unsure whether I should go because of me being the only Human there but I accepted it because my brothers and sister would be there.

I stood in front of the mirror with my hair combed, my teeth brushed and wearing my new school uniform which Perry and Harry got for me. The uniform consisted of a white shirt with a navy blue tie with a yellow stripe pattern, navy blue trousers and blazer which had the schools symbol on it, which was a European Honey Buzzard perched on top of a open book with the words underneath saying 'Honey Buzzard Academy', my school trousers were a dark grey and I was wearing Willis Lad shoes.

"Oh you look so handsome in that" I heard Perry say behind me and I blushed at her complement and she chuckled seeing me blushing. She then came up to me and knelt down to straightened my tie.

"I can sense your nervous" Perry said after she finished straightening my tie and looked deep into my eyes with a hand on my shoulder "But I can assure you even though you may be only Human there so far you will be fine."

Then she hugged me, as soon as she did, I felt a little less tense and I hugged her back trying desperately not to cry. I remembered everything we did the past month, during that month I started to become less shy among my new family, but now I felt my shyness come back to me.

After a couple of seconds we stopped hugging and she stood back up and patted my shoulder, then I heard Harry's voice from behind Perry "You'll do fine kiddo." He said, Perry side stepped and I saw Harry leaning on the door frame with his tail swinging calmly behind him.

"Thanks Harry," I said with a smile.

"Well come on then, the rest of the crew is waiting downstairs" Harry said as he motioned me to follow.

When I got to the bottom of the staircase I saw Ryan, Cody and Susan waiting for me, all of them were wearing their uniforms as well, except the only difference with Susan's uniform is she wore a short skirt instead of trousers.

"Sup little brother" Ryan said with a toothy grin.

"Hey Ryan" I said happily as I walked up to them. I looked over my shoulder and saw Jock holding two satchels in each hand.

"Right sir's and madam here are your belongings for school" he said as he made his way to Cody and handed him one which I noticed, on the satchel had his name engraved on the flap.

Cody took his satchel much to his disappointment because he let out a groan. When Jock faced Ryan, Ryan rolled his eyes and I heard him mutter "Whatever" before taking his satchel.

When Jock turned and handed Susan her satchel I noticed she was shaking with excitement, geez talk about happy to go back to school. Susan quickly took her satchel and slung it over her shoulder trying to not to explode with excitement.

Then Jock turned to me and smiled "Here you are master Jake" he said with a smile. I looked at the bag dangling in front of me and I felt my head spinning, I had that feeling like I was never coming back, like I was being shipped off to war or something like that and I felt so afraid.

I must have been standing there like an idiot because I heard Harry whisper in my ear. "It's alright son" I looked round to see Harry kneeling down next to me, he still toward over me even when he is kneeling down to me.

I began to tear up and without any warning I wrapped my arms around his neck, "I'm so scared d-dad help me" I muttered, inside I didn't know why I called him dad, it just felt right. I felt Harry's arms around me as he pulled me in.

"I know your scared" he whispered "but it's alright you have your brothers and sister here to help you." then I felt another pair of arms around my waist, I looked over my shoulder and saw Susan hugging me as well, her chin resting on top of my head.

"Don't worry little brother we'll help you" she said as she hugged me.

"YEAH! Me too" Cody said with joy as he hugged me as well.

"And me too" Ryan said with determination as he hugged me too.

"Thanks guys" I said happily.

We stayed like this for what felt like forever before I heard Harry clear his throat and say "Well as much I like this group hug, you guys need to get to school."

All four of us groaned and we let go of Harry who stood up to his towering height. I heard Jock clear his throat and I looked over to him and he motioned to the satchel he was still holding.

"Oh...right" I said feeling embarrassed, I walked up to Jock and grabbed the satchel before slinging it over my head and onto my shoulder. I breathed in slowly and let it out gently to calm myself.

"You feeling good?" Ryan asked with concern as he rubbed my back reassuringly.

"I'll be okay" I said with a small smile.

"Good" said Harry who bent down and gave me a pat on the back before saying "Now Alfie is waiting outside so don't keep him waiting."

"I CALL FRONT SEAT!" Cody shouted as he ran out the front door which he flung open.

"Oh no you don't" Ryan said as he spun around nearly taking my head off with his tail, but I ducked just in time and watched him run outside, out of view with Susan

close behind him.

"Y'know it's polite to let the women get the front seat" She said.

"Screw that!" I heard both Ryan and Cody say.

I smiled in amusement before exiting out the front door and headed to the car waiting outside.

Before I knew it, all four of us plus Alfie were standing in front of a large old Victorian style building that looked more like a mansion than a school, with front doors which were three times the height of me, the wood of the door looked old and worn down but still held strong. The brick walls, like the doors looked old and worn down with a few missing or cracked in some places. On the front door I saw the name of the school on a sign in gold lettering.

"Alright guy's!" I heard Alfie say with enthusiasm "Have fun at school."

Cody groaned and walked up the front steps with his tail dragging limply on the ground behind him followed by Ryan and the hyper Susan who's tail was flicking with excitement for the day ahead.

I stood there as I felt nervous again but I soon felt Alfie's hand on my shoulder and I looked up at him and he gave me a warm smile, showing his pointy white teeth.

"Come on" he said softly "I'll help you get all set up at reception before I go."

I nodded and we both went up the steps and entered the building.

Once we were inside I looked at my surroundings and saw that the room was quite empty apart from a couple of doors that led to different parts of the school and some pictures of the school photos from over the years decorating the walls and the reception desk that was in the middle of the room. Sitting at the reception desk was a female German Shepard wearing a business suit and had round steel spectacles on her muzzle. She was typing away on a computer and didn't notice us come in. We walked up to her and Alfie cleared his throat and she looked up at him.

"Yes? Can I help you with anything?" she asked with a soft smile.

"Yes this is Jake Ainsworth" Alfie began as he patted my back "I believe Lord Ainsworth notified you a week back that Jake would be joining the school."

The receptionist looked back at her computer screen before typing something down and when she found what she was searching for she looked at me with a warm smile.

"Of course" she said then looked up at Alfie again "I'll take it from here."

Alfie nodded and looked down at me and said "you'll be fine buddy and before you know it you'll be home" and with that he turned and left the building.

I watched him as he left before feeling a hand on my shoulder, I looked up to see the receptionist smiling down at me.

"If you would follow me I'll take you to your class" she said before turning around and walked to a door and opened it, she looked back at me and motioned me to follow which I did.

After going down a couple of corridors and up two flights of steps both me and the receptionist were standing outside a white door with a small sign on the door which said 'G5 English Room'.

"Well here we are" She said as her tail flicked behind her.

As she went to knock at the door I could hear someone talking behind the door it was muffled but I could make out it was female. When the receptionist knocked on the door the voice stopped talking and before long the door opened slightly and I could make out that the teacher was a Koala.

"Oh hello Miss Davis" The female Koala said with a happy chipper tone.

"Hello Miss Robson" Miss Davis said as she patted me on the shoulder before continuing "This is Jake Ainsworth he's just joined the school today."

"Say no more" Miss Robson said as she stepped out of the classroom, closing the door behind her. I noticed that she was the same height as me if not a tiny bit smaller, she turned her attention to me and held out a furry hand.

"Hi I'm Miss Robson and I'll be your English teacher" she said.

I gave her a weak handshake while saying in a small voice "It's nice to meet you"

"Aw...your shy" she cooed before saying with determination "Not to worry love before you know it you'll feel right at home."

I blushed a little before she continued "well let's get you introduced to the class shall we?"

I nodded slightly and we went in as Miss Davis said her goodbyes.

As soon as I entered the class room I felt loads of eyes staring at me and I looked at the ground from all the attention.

"Attention everyone!" she said "This is Jake, he's new here so take it slow with him when it comes round to introductions at free time."

Their was still silence but it was broken when Miss Robson whispered "You go and set yourself up next to max."

I looked up and looked to where she was pointing and I saw an empty desk in the corner, next to the empty desk sat a Husky with bright blue eyes and black and white fur. I slowly made my way to the desk and sat down letting my satchel slide off my shoulder and fall to the ground with a thud.

"Psst" I heard a voice whisper to me, I looked over to see the Husky looking at me with a friendly smile, he then held out a hand for me to shake while he said quietly "Sup man, the names Max Harper."

I smiled back and shook his hand while saying "Jake Ainsworth."

His eyes widened when he heard my last name and asked "Ainsworth? The rich Orca family?" I nodded "No way!" he exclaimed a little to loud, he looked around but no one took any notice before turning back to me with his tail now waging with excitement.

"That's awesome" he said but then his face turned serious "But first before our friendship goes any further I have to ask."

When he said that I felt worried about what his question was going to be.

"Do you like Star Wars?" he asked.

I let out a sigh of relief when he asked that as I knew I had seen the Star Wars franchise thanks to Ryan.

"Yes" I said.

His smile grew wider now showing his white teeth. "My friend" he said with pride "You have just made your first friend in this school and I can tell we are going to get along famously."

"Quiet you two back there!" I heard Miss Robson say "Now would you turn to page 23 in your textbook, Jake you will find yours in the desk."

I nodded to her and opened the lid of my desk and sure enough I found my textbook.

Meanwhile back at Ainsworth Manor.

Harry was sitting in his study, leaning back on his wheelie chair while talking to someone on the phone.

"Nothing?! It's been a month and you still can't find these Fur Supremacists" He said with frustration in his voice. What he got in reply from the other end caused him to bang his fist on the desk which made some of the contents on it shake.

"I DONT CARE!!! These murderers killed one of my closest friends, hell I might even say brother!" Harry rubbed his snout in frustration as he listened to the other person.

"No I haven't asked his son...Why? Because I don't want him to have those memories coming back to him. It's taken us a month for him to even come out of his shell." He said in a tired tone.

"I know he could give us some clues but I..." he stopped for a second as he listened to the speaker on the other end before nodding "Yeah I suppose he could give us a lead on someone." Harry turned to the window as the speaker continued.

"Thank you for your condolences, James was a good agent and a...great friend...it's just ...I think he got close to something...something to do with these bastards and they found out." Harry said in a solemn voice as got up from his chair while grabbing his glass of whiskey that was on the desk and walked over to the window, taking a sip from his drink.

"No his house was ransacked when the police went to investigate their house a day after the murder." Harry said as he looked down at his drink and gently swirled it around, listening to the light clink of the ice banging against the glass walls.

"Okay, fine I'll have my friend, Detective Bates come speak to him." A reply from the other end made him snort in amusement before continuing "No, he's more like a P.I but he likes being called that. He's good though." Harry looked down at his watch while careful not to spill his drink.

"Well I've got to make a phone call but keep me posted." After the speaker said their farewell Harry hung up and then dialled another number before putting it to his head (cuz no ears) before long the person on the other end picked up.

"Bates, its Harry, I got something that I need your help with..."

After English and maths where I met my new maths teacher who was a male Zebra named Mr Stripe...ironic, I was outside in the school yard where I was surrounded by my classmates who all wanted to introduced themselves and quite frankly, I was a bit overwhelmed.

I met Justin, a Cougar, Chris, A big Crocodile, I mean seriously he was the biggest and tallest in our class. I also met a shy Vixen called Megan, Derrick and Clive were Rottweiler dogs and twin brothers. Then there was Greg, a very hyper Raccoon. Oh and lastly, Emmett the Polar Bear and I don't want to sound mean but he's very gullible but I like him.

"I can't believe this!" Greg said with joy as his tail was wagging so much it was a blur "I've met my first human."

"Your first human?" Chris asked in a quizzical tone.

"Well...not my first but you know what I mean" Greg said.

"Yeah I know what you mean" Justin said.

"He's the first Human to be at our school" Derrick and Clive said together.

"Mmmm...pie" Emmett said day dreaming.

"Emmett snap out of it" Max said as he clicked his fingers in front of Emmett's eyes getting his attention.

"Sorry what?" He asked as he shook his head.

"We were talking about how Jake here is the only human in this school" Chris said as he put his arm around my shoulder.

"Oh...that's cool" Emmett said with a smile.

"Tell us Jake" Megan said in a small voice "what's your favourite game to play outside?"

"Oh...well..." I stuttered out as all eyes were on me "I always love Tag."

"Ooo me to!" Greg said with excitement.

Then all of us heard a voice behind me "well well well, they weren't kidding when they said we'd have a new kid but I wasn't expecting a human" I turn around to see a Bull who towered over us with brown fur and I could tell he was obviously a couple of years older than us oh and also your classic school bully. Behind him were his mates who were a Komodo Dragon who had red scales which was odd for his species, a Python, a Lion and a Stallion.

"What's the matter Human? Cat got your tongue?" the Bull said with a sinister voice.

"I...I" I stuttered out.

"He's scared Barry" the Python said to the Bull who I now know his name is Barry.

"Aw what's the matter freak!" Barry said in a mocking tone "Gonna run off to your mummy?"

That struck my heart like a spear as I had flashbacks to that terrible night and I tried not to break down crying but I managed to hold it to just my eyes watering.

"We were just leaving" Max said as he grabbed my shoulder and we went to leave.

But I suddenly felt a tail coil around my legs and trip me up, I face planted the ground and heard the bully's laughing. I looked up and saw who tripped me up, it was the Python with a devious smile on his face.

"You guys can leave" Barry said as he pointed to my friends. "But freak here is going to get our welcoming gift to this dump of a school."

I noticed after he said that the python and the stallion were cracking their knuckles but I saw the Lion extend his sharp claws from his fingertips. I tried to get up but the snakes long tail tightened around my legs.

"Leave him alone" Megan said with anger but I could sense in her voice that she was scared as well.

Barry looked at her and laughed before saying "Shut it, you Foxes are just as filthy and freakish as Humans are."

"OI! Pick on someone your own size" We all heard a feminine voice say and looked to where it came from to see a female white Tiger standing behind the bullies.

"Oh look who it is everyone!" Barry said in a mocking tone motioning to her "It's Mia the hero, little one sided for you don't you think?" He then pointed to his friends "Five of us and one of you."

"She's not alone" I heard the familiar voice of Ryan and my face lit up as I saw behind my friends him, Susan and Cody with a couple of other animals who must be their friends coming up to us.

I looked back at Barry and his friends and saw they were all shocked and some even a bit scared, the python slowly uncoiled his tail and slowly backed away. I looked over at Barry who had now changed from being shocked to showing anger then changed to a sinister smile before holding his hands in surrender.

"Alright pal keep calm" Barry said as he knelt down and picked me up which I thought was odd that was until he whispered in my ear.

"This isn't the end freak" he whispered, as soon I was on my feet he shoved me into Ryan who caught me. "Lets go boys" he said with a wave of his arm and they all walked off.

"Are you alright brother?" Ryan asked in concern.

"Not really" I said as I dusted myself down.

"I should have known that Barry would pick on you." Ryan said as he watched them walk off.

"Yeah Barry has always been a piece of work" Susan said as she cracked her knuckles before continuing "But if I ever see him bullying my littlest brother again I'll show him what a punch feels like."

"Thanks Susan" I said in appreciation.

Then I heard someone clear their throat behind me and turned around to see the White Tiger standing behind me and I could swear her cheeks were a little pink under her fur.

"Hi...I just wanted to know if you were okay?" she said with a little shyness.

"I am thanks to you" I said with a small smile as I felt my cheeks warm up a bit.

She giggled as she could see me blushing, her tail flicking behind her "Oh it was nothing I just couldn't stand around and watch those jerks bully the new kid."

I blushed a bit more but then held out my hand to her and said "Jake by the way."

She smiled and shook my hand as she also introduced herself "Mia." But before we could talk any more the bell rang signalling it was the end of break so I bid my farewell to Mia and co and went with my class to our next class.

The rest of the day was boring as you can expect from school. We had lunch which was...alright. Then break again and while I was talking to my classmates I always kept looking around cautiously in case I saw Barry and his goons anywhere but luckily I didn't see them at all, much to my relief.

Before I knew it I was in the changing rooms with my friends getting ready to leave for home.

"Jake we're all ready to go want to come with us?" Justin asked as he slung his backpack onto his shoulders.

"Nah, you guys go on ahead I'll see you tomorrow." I said, to this day I still regret saying that.

When I was done with putting some of my books in my locker which rested on top of my new sports bag which I found already there. I made my way out of the changing rooms and down the hall to the front door. I was about to pass a door that led to the boys toilets the door swung open and two brown furry arms grabbed me and yanked me into the toilets.

When I was in the toilets I was pushed back and I felt two pairs of hands grab my arms. I looked to see who caught me and to my horror I saw the familiar faces of the Lion and Stallion and I new who dragged me in here. I looked in front of me and sure enough, Barry was standing over me with his evil smile.

"Told you this wasn't over freak." he said evilly.

I tried to break free from his goons clutches but no hope, they held firm.

"Now" Barry said as he cracked his knuckles "About that welcoming present." His right hand balled into a fist and before I could ready myself his fist made contact with my stomach. I hunched over as he knocked the air out of me but it didn't end there, he kneed me in the face sending me flying back, his goons let go of me so I landed on the floor with my satchel falling off my shoulder.

I turned over onto my stomach and tried to crawl away but I felt something coil around my ankles, preventing me from escaping. I could hear Barry and his friends laugh at me and I closed my eyes and began to quietly sob. Then I felt a foot connect to the side of my ribs, I let out a grunt and looked up to see Barry smiling down at me then he proceeded to kick me over and over, each kick harder than the last. Before I knew it he stopped, I felt pain everywhere and I coughed up blood onto the nicely cleaned floor, my chest hurt the most and I couldn't breathe properly.

Barry grabbed me by the collar and lifted me up and made so that I was looking at him.

"If you EVER tell anyone that I or my friends did this to you, I will make your life a living hell in this school and next time it won't be just fists it will be something much worse with a water bottle and a rag." Barry threatened.

I just nodded and he threw me back onto the floor "Good...cya later freak." Barry said as he and his friends exited the room except one which was the Komodo Dragon who Barry noticed and said "Mason what are you doing?"

Mason gave Barry an evil smile and said "You guys go on ahead I'll make sure freak here get the message."

Barry laughed and said "I like your thinking, well later then." and Barry left closing the door behind him.

I looked up at Mason who then looked down at me and made his way towards me. I closed my eyes and held my hands up waiting for whatever this guy was going to do to me but to my surprise I felt his hands under my armpits and he lifted me up to my feet gently. When he helped me to my feet I felt my legs wobble felt like I was going to collapse, I had to lean against a sink to keep me from falling.

"I'm sorry for what happened to you kid" Mason said as he picked my satchel off the ground and placed it on the sink.

"Thanks I guess" I said as I looked in the mirror to see my badly battered self. My face was badly bruised and my nose was bleeding and as for my uniform one of my blazer sleeves was ripped from the shoulder. I saw Mason behind me with a face filled with sorrow and I just had to ask "why are you helping me?"

"Because I just hate to see Barry pick on you" Mason said as he looked at the ground.

"But why are you friends with him then?" I asked a little angry as I turned to look at him.

"I'm not, I just act like his friend because I'm afraid he'll beat me up" Mason said while he twiddled his thumbs.

"Oh..." I said realising he is just as afraid.

"Look just do me a favour alright?" Mason said as he placed a hand on my shoulder "NEVER go anywhere around here by yourself that's when he will get the opportunity to do this to you alright?"

"Okay" I said as I nodded.

"Good" he went over and picked up his backpack and opened the door while saying "Keep your friends close mate, they'll give you protection." With that he exited the door.

Ryan, Cody, Susan and Alfie were all standing outside the school, standing by a Audi Q3 looking for Ryan as other kids were being picked up by their parents.

Alfie looked at his watch and gave a huff before saying "Jakes ten minutes late."

"Yeah" Susan said with concern "I'm worried something terrible has happened."

"LOOK! There he is" Cody said with joy as he pointed to the front door of the school.

They all looked to the door in relief as they saw Jake coming out but their faces turned from relief to horror as they saw the state that Jake was in.

His face was bruised and bleeding, his uniform was in a mess with his shirt untucked and ripped in several places. Jake limped to the front steps but he seemed to not notice them and fell down the steps and landed in a heap which caught the attention of all the parents.

"Sweet Jesus" Alfie muttered in horror as ran over to Jake with the others close behind.

When Alfie got to Jake he scooped him up into his arms and looked down at him in concern "What happened Jake?" he asked.

Jake coughed and wheezed, blood spraying onto Alfie's face muttering "I...I..." before passing out.

Alfie's face turned from concerned to anger as he looked down at Ryan, Cody and Susan who were looking up at him with worry.

"Susan open the back door to the car and you and Cody sit in the back with Jake. Ryan...your in the front with me" Alfie said as he turned and made his way quickly to the car. Susan complied and opened the back door of the car and Alfie laid Jake down on the white leathered seats before making his way to the drivers side and hoping into the car, as did everyone else.

"Where are we going?" Cody asked as he placed Jakes legs on his lap and did up his seatbelt.

"The Hospital" Alfie said as he started up the car and sped off down the road towards the Hospital.

The car journey to the hospital was quiet, nobody talked. Susan had Jakes head on her lap and she stroked his now scruffy blonde hair, she looked down at him with tears in her eyes and she leaned down and kissed him on his forehead.

"I'm so sorry this happened to you Jake" she whispered.

Before they knew it Alfie pulled into the car park of a hospital and managed to find a spot without much hassle. When they parked Alfie quickly jumped out of the car, opened the back door and gently picked Jake up and he and others rushed to the hospital.

When they entered the hospital Alfie rushed over to the receptionist who was a male grey Timber Wolf.

"I need a Doctor asap" Alfie said with urgency in his voice.

The Wolf looked up at Alfie and his widened in shock when he saw an unconscious Jake in his arms.

"Absolutely" the wolf said and he picked up a phone on the desk and requested for a Doctor.

In no time at all a human wearing a lab coat came up to Alfie.

"I'm Doctor O'Neil" O'Neil introduced himself.

"It's a pleasure but this kid needs help" Alfie said with worry.

O'Neil nodded and brought out a stethoscope and put the flat disc on Jakes chest and listened through it. O'Neils eyes widened and said "he's still breathing but its faint. NURSE!" As soon as he shouted nurse a female donkey came running up to him.

"I need a trolley bed NOW!" O'Neil ordered.

"Yes Doctor" the nurse said and ran down a hallway. In two minutes several more nurses came with a trolley bed and Alfie put Jake on it and the nurses rushed off with O'Neil close behind.

"If you wait here the Doctor will be back and give you the news." another nurse said and with that the nurse rushed down the hallway leaving Alfie, Ryan, Cody and Susan standing there.

Alfie sighed and rubbed his eyes before turning to the others and said "You wait here I'll call Perry and tell her what's happening."

The others nodded and Alfie walked outside. Ryan, Cody and Susan all sat down on some chairs and waited with looks of worry.

"Do you think he'll be alright?" Cody asked as his eyes began to water.

"I'm sure he'll be fine" Susan said reassuringly as she put an arm around Cody and pulled him close.

Ryan just kept looking down the hallway he saw Jake being taken and said in a whisper "please Jake, please be okay..."
