Venus sat in her room the events from the last few days still fresh in her head. When Kira found out about Chase escaping he almost took her head off. Venus knew Kira wouldn't kill her yet. She was too valuable. She was glad that Chase and Athena were reunited.
She was soon brought back to reality when Kira summoned her.
"What is it?" she asked already knowing the answer.
The F.T.S (Fur Termination System) is here and is charging. I want you to kill every fur and human in the town that is closest to the beach I destroyed." he said.
"But if we use it on this planet the humans could die as well. Their DNA is similar to that of the furs. Father it is one thing to kill the furs because they're our enemies but the humans are innocent bystanders." She protested.
"Why do you care all of the sudden? You've killed humans all the time. You even killed Pyro" Kira said trying not to laugh.
"There is no honor in killing a defenseless being. The humans I killed attacked me first." She said coldly
"Watch your tone little one or I will give you a scar to match the one you already have." Kira said pointing to the scare on Venus's stomach.
Venus never forgot how she got that scar. It was a lasting reminder of Kira's last punishment. She got that scar the last time Kira beat her. And the only reason he beat her was because he was bored. That was always the reason why he did. Venus placed her paw over the scar. Ever since Kira killed her birth father she hated him. Even though she didn't like what he is doing she would follow his orders any way. She was a text book definition of a lap dog. (No pun intended) She changed into her lightweight full body armor and grabbed favorite weapon which happened to be a Black dragon naginata. Out of all the dragon lords Venus was the best when it came to fighting with weapons. The naginata was her specialty. She was the one of two dragons to ever completely master it. The first dragon was her birth father Hades. He taught her everything he knew and helped her make one of her own. She nodded and left to finish what Kira started.
Ace was sitting on a rock ledge looking at the family photo Sora gave him. It had been three weeks since he came to earth. He found a beach house that was abandoned and still in good shape so he made it his base and temporary home. Based on what he heard from the locals a young purple dragoness was seen with a young human boy walking through the town three days earlier. The locals also told him that they seemed to be pretty close. Ace knew it was Athena and was glad that she alive and healthy.
"At least she is safe from Kira and has a roof over her head. I'll have to thank that human when I see him." Ace thought. He noticed a dragon land not too far from where he was sitting. He slowly crept closer to confirm his suspicion.
Venus was walking towards the city with her weapon at the ready. She started to growl when she picked up Ace's scent. She was in a bad mood and the fact that a fur was stalking her like she was a prey animal just made it worse.
"Show yourself or risk your life." she growled taking a stance.
Ace knew his cover was blown and decided to reveal himself. As he walked out of his hiding place he kept his eyes on Venus's naginata which was pointed right at him.
He knew she was on her guard and didn't want to provoke her. He kept his paws on his waist so he could draw his swords incase she attacks. He didn't want to fight her and hoped that she would listen to reason.
"Are you Venus?" he asked calmly.
"It's common courtesy to give your name before asking someone theirs." she said in an irritated tone.
"Forgive my rudeness. My name is Ace." He said politely.
"Well Ace I am Venus. Now what business do you have with me?" she asked in the same tone.
"I need you to help me defeat Kira and I am here to bring you home." he said.
"I won't turn against Kira and I am not going back to Wyvern until our mission is complete now get out of my way." she said
I can't you let do this. I know you hate what Kira is doing. Are you just going to let him take innocent lives? Ace said standing his ground.
"If that is how you feel then you leave me no choice. She said taking a stance.
Ace knew the only way to get through to her was to fight so he drew his swords and took a stance. Venus wasted no time in attacking. She charged at Ace with blinding speed. Ace blocked her attack but the force of the impact knocked him backwards a good 8 feet. He recovered and landed on his feet barely dodging another strike. He tried to counter but Venus blocked every hit. Ace knew that a direct attack wouldn't work so he changed tactics. When she stabbed at his stomach she made her first mistake. Ace swung one sword straight up deflecting the attack and knocking her off balance leaving her open to a counter attack which he took full advantage of. Ace kicked her in the back of the knee forcing her to land on her back. Before she could recover Ace knocked the naginata out of her paws and pinned her to the ground binding both of her arms with ninja wire. He had one sword at her throat and the other at the base of her tail incase she tried to strike him with it.
"What are you waiting for kill me?" She said coldly.
"I'm not going to kill because I have no reason to. I know you are hiding your emotions. I want to help you." Ace said calmly.
"You can't help me Ace. I am a solider. My sole purpose is to follow orders that is my fate and as much as I want to I can't change it. I don't have a choice! She shouted as her paws started to glow.
Her body was soon enveloped in a small tornado forcing Ace to lose his grip on the wire that bound the dragoness's paws and knocking him to the ground. Before he could get up Venus put her foot on his chest pinning him to the ground. She started to press down on his chest cause causing to scream in pain. She didn't notice Ace a scent bomb in his left paw.
"You should have killed me when you had the chance Ace. Unlike you, I don't let personal feelings interfere with my decisions and judgment." She said with no emotion in her voice.
Kira will just kill you when he has no more use for you. You are nothing but a tool to him. You are not just a puppet for him to use as he sees fit. Your mother is worried sick about you. There is good in you Venus I can see it in your eyes." Ace said hoping to get through to her.
"Stop acting like you know me Ace!" She shouted extending her claws.
Ace held his breath detonated the scent bomb which exploded into a cloud of white foul smelling smoke catching Venus off guard. The dragoness jumped backwards cover her snout groaning because of the smell. Ace managed to get some distance as the smoke cleared. Venus grabbed her naginata and took a swing at Ace. He noticed that something was different. She charged at him but this time her blade cut him across the chest. Ace was glad his armor was so strong otherwise that would have been a fatal blow. Ace had one last idea but it was a long shot.
"Venus please listen to me. You have a sister who looks up to you and a mother who cares about you. Do you really want to throw all that away? You have always been doing what Kira says but ask yourself this who are you and what do you want?
You are a skilled fighter with a kind heart you don't deserve to life you life as a slave and if you can't accept help from your friend then strike me down." Ace said throwing his swords down and getting on his knees with his eyes closed.
Venus knocked him on his back and pinned him to the ground with her foot on his chest and took aim at his head with the naginata. She raised the prepared to strike but she hesitated only for a moment before she drove the blade down with all of her strength with a loud smashing sound.
Ace opened his eyes and saw the blade in the sand mere inches from his head.
"I can't do it. I just can't do it." Venus said quietly removing her foot from the tiger wolf's chest.
I'm glad you finally came to your senses. Ace said standing up and breathing a sigh of relief.
"If I can't follow orders then what good am I? What is my purpose? I am alone in this world." she said sadly.
"You aren't alone Venus you have your sister and your friends." Ace said trying give her some comfort.
"I don't have any friends." She said in the same tone.
"That is where you are wrong my friend. You have me." Ace said holding out his paw.
Venus was shocked. Not even ten minutes ago she was trying to kill him and now he was offering his paw in friendship.
"Why do you want me as a friend? I tried to kill you. She asked confused.
"You weren't yourself then and as far as I am concerned that is water under the bridge." Ace said smiling.
Venus was about to respond when she heard Athena and Chase running on to beach.
"Venus are you alright?" Athena asked as she hugged her sister.
Venus just smiled and said I am now Athena .I am now.....
