The first school bell rung a little after 8:55 AM as the students of North Alaska High gathered and rushed around to get to their first class of the day, dreading the thought of Monday starting all over again, and a new week of learning to begin. The school was rather new to the community of Fairbanks, the educational system of the town decided to think of a new change, which to the public was almost heart breaking because of the old memories, but sometimes change can bring new and remembering memories for the students attending the school.

Kevin, an average tenth grader, hurried into the front doors and scrambled down the tiled floored hallway, rushing past lockers and lurking students heading into class. Kevin was rather late a lot, his messed up alarm clock had always never wanted to wake up, just like him. Maybe it liked sleeping more than Kevin. Turning the corner Kevin continued to run until the end of the hallway, finally reaching his locker and twisting the dial to enter in his compo and swiftly snatching the lock off its hold on the locker to open it just enough to grab his first class books: Math.

"Damn it..." He cursed under his breath as the book wasn't on the top of the piles of paper and other books, it was on the bottom. Dropping his messenger bag on the ground, he used his other hand to try and pry the book out, noticing that his wristwatch was telling him 8:58 AM-only two minutes!-He cursed again and lifted some papers up to try and give him an advantage of freeing his math book. Everyday this always happened, the same process and same routine of every Monday morning he was faced with. He'd just stuff his books into his locker and leave on Fridays, staying away from this hell they'd call an education pool for the under minors.

"Grrahh!" and with one more forceful pull the book was finally free with only one minute to spare! Kevin cursed again and again as he reached to close his locker door and lock it when a shiver went up his spine. As if like life around him in the empty hallway turned into slow motion, the locker gradually closed on its own, the hinges creaking slowly as a tall figure stood beside him where the locker door was opened to. Looking to the figure slowly with shock, his stomach felt like it had been punched in the dead centre, causing his heart to skip a beat as his body temperature felt cold.

There, standing tall in clothing that appeared to be like Japanese baggy blue samurai pants-is what Kevin called them-and no shirt... just bare chest and all, stood Demetrius, the Husky from his dream. Demetrius looked down at Kevin with sharp, keen eyes that felt like as if they were daggers poking and prodding him non-stop. His fur seemed to be more shiny and silvery without the armours' help at all when he stepped forward into the sunshine shinning in through the exit doors behind him, but Kevin kept his eyes one Demetrius'.

"No..." Kevin whispered and took a step back, finding the back of his foot smacking into his messenger bad and sending him backwards off balance.

Demetrius' fur stood up as he moved with quick accuracy, coming around Kevin to catch him and quickly letting him fall nice and gracefully on his back. At first Kevin felt the hands on his back catching him but after a second it felt like they've evaporated, disappearing from Kevin's feeling sense. All he felt was the cold tile.

And in that moment, the schools last bell rung. Forcing Kevin to snap out of thought and-with shaky legs-stood up, bolting back down the hall and to his math class.

His teacher was going to kill him...

"He's a human!" King Alexander cried out in frustration as he paced his office chamber, the room's mid-evil time castle like room of a library with many books stacked on tall shelves covered the walls around the desk that was placed in the centre of the room, sitting on top of a burgundy red carpet that seemed too old fashioned to the Kings so called apprentice, Humphrey. The rat stood with a straight posture that seemed to have shown his maturity was a strong one, "And a male!" The King scoffed.

The rat sighed quietly as the Kings pacing had been surprisingly irritating, "My lord, if you don't mind me asking..." He started with a voice that estimated his age: 50 "Why don't you have the boy killed? It would certainly solve Lord Demetrius' Dilemma, yours and mine." He said the last part under his breath, hoping the King never heard.

"Humphrey are you gullible?" Hissed the King, obviously not hearing the last part as he stopped to shoot glares at his apprentice, "It would all seem too soon, I'm sure the rumour of Demetrius' engagement has already spread by the remaining guards in the throne room. Other anthro's would have suspicions of me ridding the boy and my reputation as a King will plummet, I might as well hand my head to the beheader right now!"

Humphrey considered and looked away from the Kings glare, "Of course, my lord, I apologize for bringing such horror to thought."

King Alexander growled and forwarded his pacing again, "How did the two even cross blood in the first place! I don't even recall having the boy being let out of the dungeon in the first place!"

"From Lord Demetrius' perspective he was on duty in the main hallway, my lord. As he was turning a corner he caught a glimpse of the boy running down the hallway with a dagger in his hand and his wrist bleeding like buckets of water being thrown off a leaking boat. The two collided and the boy fell on top of Lord Demetrius, accidently having the dagger stab his wrist in the process of the fall. They were both found with their hands entwined...Thus, having their blood seeping into their open cuts and initiating the engagement." The rat inhaled a breath and looked back at the King; he was now standing behind his oak wood desk, hands resting on top of the surface for support.

"I know how the engagement process works you blubbering fool, I too crossed blood before!" The King snapped and forced the rat to apologize in the process.

"If only a divorce was able to happen this would solve problems, but unfortunately I can't have my best knight being killed in the process..." The King sat in his chair and rubbed his eyes, he was surly tired.

In the anthro dimension a divorce was a little more different then a regular human divorce. The process was more deadly than putting yourself in front of a bull stampede rushing towards you with only wearing the color red. In order to complete a divorce the couple must take their cut that they opened to cross blood and hold it out to a venomous snake. The snake would then suck the spouse's blood from the body. The process usually takes 24 hours to complete depending on the time the couple have spent their time together.

Unfortunately, there is a deadly side to this case. When a snake bites into the cut to suck the blood, it will then release its venom into the body, spreading into the whole body within an hour and killing the person instantly.

Only a few survive.

The King sighed and looked at the rat, "Where is Demetrius now? I haven't seen the Husky since yesterday."

Humphrey thought for a moment, going through his photographic memory and mentally replaying the moment in the throne room, "I believe he took the boy back to his world after he fainted when Lord Demetrius told him he was engaged. The boy must have been under too much pressure and lost consciousness. I assume your trusted knight must still be with the boy..."

The King snapped and stood up with anger, the sound of his knight being in the human dimension boiled his blood further. Not only could Demetrius expose himself in front of the human population, but the King despised the human world so much that the word made him angrier. As the his chair moved back a bit with the sound of wood scraping against cement, King Alexander growled at the rat, "Why is he still there? He knows I forbid anthro's being in that world for too long!"

The rat hid a chuckle under his breath, but the smirk was noticeable, "Because, your majesty, since Lord Demetrius is a knight he made a vow to protect his people with his life... even his loved ones."

"HE DOESN'T LOVE THE BOY!" The King roared so loud the room echoed his voice for a few seconds, having the rat to clench his teeth tight.

But in that moment of silence, the rat's chuckle was finally heard through the office chamber, "Well tell him that my lord, he is in fact the one engaged to the boy."
