Stud-sitting Part 1

"Do you have any experience?"

Kipcha bit her lower lip and looked up to the large equine seated behind the desk. For most of the interview she had been thinking about how silly he looked seated behind such a tiny wooden desk; her mind must have wandered. It didn't help that she kept looking around the office and thinking how it looked like it belonged in a corporate building in the city, not a stud farm in the middle of the country.

"It says on your resume 'some experience'. Please elaborate," the male added as he took note of the kit fox's nervous expression. He had dealt with more than one applicant who lost their nerve when he started questioning and he was going to be damned if he didn't get someone hired today for something as foolish as that.

"Well," Kipcha said in a clearly unsure voice, "I spent a few summers working on my uncle's dairy farm when I was a kid. It was mostly milking cows and babysitting his three kids though." She had already given the interview up as a wash at that point so she saw no reason to try and glam herself up now.

The mustang seated behind the desk suddenly reached over a heavily muscled arm and pulled a clipboard from a tack on the wall. Flipping through a couple of pages and reading the names aloud to himself. "Looks like one of our new studs is in need of a little "babysitting"; poor thing seems to have trouble stomaching his own cooking. Think you are up for it?" the male said as he looked back to the vixen.

Kipcha's ears stood up tall at the mention of a potential job and said, "Sure thing. I would be glad to take the job; just tell me where to sign."

The male gave a short laugh and said, "Love the energy missy; sign by the X and I will get you entered into the system." With that, he handed Kipcha a small stack of papers that outlined the basics of her job and the requirements to keep it; all basic legal jargon that even he wasn't completely sure of.

Taking a pen from a peg on the desk, Kipcha signed her name across the line and handed the stack back to her new employer. Thinking for a moment, Kipcha made the comment, "If all the horses are anthros than why do you breed them?"

The horse behind the counter placed the contract into a folder and slid it into his desk drawer. Sitting upright and looking down at Kipcha, he said, "Farmers pay good money for someone with the strength of a horse and the ability to problem solve. We supply farms and other industries across the country with help every year." He stood suddenly and looked down at the small fox sitting in the seat in front of him.

Kipcha had never felt so small that when she was seated in front of the tall male. He was easily taller than the door and she thought for a moment that he was angry. Her tail wrapped around the leg of her jeans and she said, "Oh, I see. Sounds interesting."

The male nodded and seemed to take that as a good enough response. He turned for a moment and began to dig around in a file cabinet which housed all the farm's documents. Pulling out a folder from the drawer listed "Housing" he shook a key out into his hand. Turning back and handing the key to the fox, making sure to double check the number, he said, "You will be living in complex 19. You will find everything already stocked in terms of food and toiletries but you are of course welcome to purchase your own if you have any preferences. Phillip will be in later this evening after his exercises are done and he finishes getting his shots."

Kipcha looked up and said, "Phillip? Who is that?"

The horse smiled and said, "Your personal stud. The one you are going to be babysitting while you are working here. You share a residence with him to better help you meet his needs."

Kipcha took the key and said, "Oh, alright then. I guess that does make a lot of sense." She rose and said, "I've not toured the grounds yet; is it alright if I do that while I head to my, uh, house?"

The horse nodded and said, "Of course. Just stay clear of the barn for now. You will get real familiar with that when it comes time to help milk Phillip." As he watched the fox turn to leave he put a hand to his forehead and said, "I nearly forgot. What are your views on nudity?"

Kipcha turned and with a faint blush asked, "Why? Is there something you didn't tell me?"

The horse sat back down with a chuckle and said, "The breeding studs are always nude, as are quite a few of the handlers after they have been here a while. Most of the handlers grow comfortable enough to walk around in the buff and most of them prefer it after they do. Summers here get pretty damned hot with fur."

Kipcha blushed visibly red and said, "Thanks for the warning. I think I will keep my clothes on though." She then turned and left the office to seek out her new home.
