A Thoughtful Night.
#1 of Short Stories
A Story of a Dragon who thinks about his friend he lost contact with.
'It's late... I should go to sleep...' Ember thought as he looked at the clock behind him. He was searching for his lost friend on the internet. This night was one of those nights that had you think about the past. About friends you lost contact with or friends you broke up with.
'I wonder how he's doing...' Ember thought. 'We didn't exactly lose contact peacefully...'
The day he lost contact with him, they were arguing. His friend wanted to study another year to go for a better college, but Ember thought there was no chance, given his studying habits and the big 'NO' from his friend's parents. Ember just tried to give him the best advice he could. Go to whatever college he could attend to. He thought that was his friend's best shot. College wasn't everything after all.
'Maybe if I wasn't so pushy... Maybe if I hadn't got angry...' he thought. The argument had heated up and in the end he got angry and almost shouted at him. Then he just ended the call one-sidedly.
Maybe it was destiny to end up like this. Maybe it was his and his friend's destiny to finally stop being friends. Maybe fate had it's own idea.
He wanted to change what fate had decided upon. But not very much. Although most of the doubt about his friend was gone, some of it was still left in him, and that was enough for him to think 'why should I be friends with him?'.
But he was his friend. From when they were thirteen to nineteen. He couldn't just dump away his friend, right?
But maybe it was fate.
They weren't that close, like BFFs, anyways. Maybe it really was fate.
Closing his laptop, he stopped searching for his lost friend. He already messaged his long lost friend, through the messenger they had used. If his lost friend opens the program, then he will see it. If not...
'Maybe it really was fate.' Ember thought, and packed the laptop away.
