#7 of Cyn

Okay, before I start, I will just say that I really wanting to upload this earlier, but I had technical difficulties. Anyways, expect the next chapter soon. (If it's not uploaded by the time you read this!) Enjoy.

"Where am I?" Elrin murmured, raising his head off the floor. Looking around, he saw he was lying in a jail cell, surrounded by magical runes.

"Quite simple. You are our prisoner... your majesty." Cyn giggled from outside the cage.

"Curse you!" Elrin cried, opening his mouth. Only a small puff of smoke came out of his mouth. "Magic blockers? How did you know how to seal my draconic power?" he cried, lying down pathetically.

"Well, lucky for us, you had it all set up for us. You don't recognize this place, do you?" Cyn said, pacing back and forth in front of the bars. "You constructed this place yourself to hold any dragons you captured that were allied with the old Dragon Lord."

"But... I... how did you know what it was used for?" Elrin stuttered, looking at her.

"Well... let me tell you the story of what happened during your nap." Cyn said, sitting in front of him. It all started with you being knocked out... You see, Will woke up after I knocked you out with my awesome swordplay."

"You stepped on a sword and launched it at me on accident." He grumbled, glaring at her.

"No, you jumped into position." She giggled. Enraged, he attacked the bars, but just pathetically bounced off. "Anyways," She continued,"Will woke up, and we tried to wake up Ryan, who was unconscious on the ground. You had crushed him half to death, and he wasn't responding."

"Did I kill him?" Elrin asked, looking at her.

"Let me finish my story, alright? It will all make sense." Cyn said, sighing slightly. "Anyways, we knew we had to do something about you, so we started devising a way to hold you. Just then several of your royal soldiers ran in, and tried to arrest us."

"And you beat them?" He asked, stunned.

"No. They captured us... and locked us in this dragon-proof cell." She giggled.

"And you broke out, since the cell only contains dragon magic, am I correct?" he said, rubbing one paw down his face in frustration. "Stupid guards... they should have put you in another cell!"

"Actually, that's the funny part. They thought I was a dragon, and that you were some kind of monster that ate the king... since, after all, you never showed your true form to anybody." She laughed.

"And that means that my own followers locked me in here?!?" He cried, roaring at her.

"Calm down, you big phony. You had it coming for a while." She said, smiling. "I just busted you."

"Yea, with a sword on the head, because of your own clumsiness!" Elrin cried, frustrated.

"Forget how I did it. I accomplished it. That's all that matters." She said, stretching slightly, her back arched. "Anyways, after Will and I broke out, and saved Ryan, we managed to convince the chancellor what was going on. Ryan is still unconscious, but they have gotten him into stable condition. Meanwhile, when they found out that you killed Meirick, the old Dragon Lord, and that we were trying to take you out, they joined with use."

"But... How did you convince them that you were the good guys?" Elrin asked, glaring. "I mean... you think they would see you as the enemy as well!"

"Well, once we managed to get out, and we actually got out, several people recognized Ryan as one of the Dragon Lord's old friends, and decided to hear us out. After a little explaining, they decided to put you on trial, and let us walk." Cyn said, sighing with relief. "I finally found a place where people listen to what I say without just threatening my life."

"When I get out of here, I will tear you all to shreds!" Elrin roared, lunging at the bars.

"Cyn! Ryan's waking up!" Will yelled, running in the room. "Come on!"

"Be right there, Will." Cyn said, as the two exchanged a smile. Turning back to Elrin, she said, "Well, Elrin, I got places to be, and people to talk to.

"I once was shunned, like you. That is why I did all this! If I can't blend in, I'll take it over!" Elrin laughed.

"It's sad. People like me struggle to be a part of every-day society, and people like you just try to destroy it. We are totally different." Cyn said, turning away. "I am sorry if you had a rough life, but it doesn't justify all that you've done. I only hope your life can take a turn for the better." Cyn said, walking out of the room.

"Damn it.... She has no place speaking to me like that. My kind is meant to control hers!" Elrin growled, lying down. "If her and Aryandyne knew what they were... and carried out their true duty... then it would all end." Grinning, Elrin sat up in his cage excited. "Of course! If I can awaken one of them, that clumsy girl or that arrogant, loyal fire-spitter will destroy the whole kingdom! No... The world!!! It has been the duty of us dragons to hold them back... but, if the people will not see me as their superior, then why should I protect them?"

"Shut up in there!" A man's voice yelled from another cell.

"Once the trial comes... as long as at least one of them is in there, I will be freed, and get my revenge!" Elrin laughed.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"What happened..." Ryan groaned as he sat up.
"Please, don't exert yourself." A young girl in white said, putting her hand on him. "You just need to rest."
"Glad t o see your awake!" Will said, walking into the room.
"Where is Cyn?" Ryan asked, looking at Will.
"She is currently talking to that caged dragon." Will said, walking closer. "So why didn't you tell us you were the same species as Cyn?"
Looking down at himself, Ryan laughed, and said, "You never asked."
"You always have to have some witty comeback to everything, don't you?" Will said, groaning slightly.
"Ryan!" Cyn said, running into the room. "I thought we were going to lose you there for a little while!"
"Who beat Elrin, anyways?" Ryan asked, looking at Will.
"Her." Will laughed, pointing at Cyn.
"I had no clue such a cute little girl could pack such a punch!" Ryan laughed, looking at her.
Arrogantly, Cyn said, "I'm just very..."
"Clumsy." Will snickered, receiving a glare from Cyn. "Oh come on! It was clumsiness, and you know it!" He laughed.
"Anyways, We should probably all get some rest. Elrin's trial is tomorrow." Cyn said, smiling at Will. "Let's go lay down."
"Have fun, you two." Ryan chuckled, causing the two lovers to cringe.
"Oh shut it." Will laughed, as him and Cyn exited the room.
"Those two make quite a pair." Ryan laughed, laying his head down. "At least Elrin can be brought to justice."
~~~~~~~~The Next Day~~~~~~~~

"And so, this dragon not only impersonated the Dragon Lord, but killed him as well, along with most of his most loyal servants." The judge said, staring at Elrin, who was bound in chains before him. Hundreds sat around the large cathedral, which had thousands of rows of seats.

"He's definitely in trouble." Will said, smiling at Cyn. Putting an arm around her, he sighed slightly, and yawned. "I just wish they'd say what they'll do to him."

"He deserves to die for his deeds, though I wish, rather, we could just make him live, regretting his choices." Ryan said, glaring at the bounded dragon. He was in his human form once again.

"People of this kingdom. I know what I did was wrong." Elrin began, causing the crowds to all silence.

"Great, he's going to try and speak his way out of it." Cyn moaned, lowering her head.

"However, you do not realize what we dragons do for your world. You see, there are these powerful creatures, called Arcane Drakes. They are capable of destroying our world in a heartbeat. It is what their purpose is." Elrin laughed, looking at the audience. "It is the duty of us dragons to keep them from awakening.

"Are you trying to pull now?" the judge asked, staring intensely at the dragon. "You have done so many cruel things to our people!"

"Simple. Long ago, the dragon kin sealed the power of the Arcane Drakes within themselves. After all, dragon magic has the power to suppress it. The spell made it where the Arcane Drakes were born without their destructive nature, and had their powers greatly drained. However, every dragon... would be born with the potential to awaken an Arcane Drake." Elrin said, looking at the Audience. "The only ones capable of defeating a fully powered Arcane Drake, are a dragon, or another Arcane Drake at full power. That.... Or a Dragon Lord."

"What is this nonsense, anyways?" Ryan asked, standing up. "Elrin, you are spilling utter nonsense."

"Am I, Aryandyne? I think not." He said, still chuckling. I would explain more, but I really just want to get this show on the road! Now, I will awaken the true power of an Arcane Drake, and turn this kingdom to smoldering ash!" With that, He began muttering in another language, as some kind of energy coursed through the room.

"I feel an energy... Is he really awakening an Arcane Drake?" Will asked, looking around. As the room went silent, Elrin broke into laughter again.

"Now... you will see the true power of an Arcane Drake." Elrin laughed, sitting patiently.

"He's gotta be bluffing. I'be never heard of an Arcane Drake." Ryan muttered.

"Cyn, I have a bad feeling about this." Ryan said, turning toward Cyn.

"Will... everyone must leave this place." Cyn said, her body tensed.

"Cyn?" Will asked, panicked.

"Will... Ryan... Please!" Cyn cried, clenching her teeth and cringing in pain.

"Why? He's bluffing.... Isn't he?" Ryan asked, looking at Cyn.

"Soon... this place will smell of burning human flesh.... Bodies strewn amongst the floor..." Cyn giggled, her tone sounding darker than normal. "Sweet... burning... flesh.

"No...." Will muttered, as realization hit him.

"Yes!" Elrin laughed, looking at Will. "The very one who stopped me will now level this kingdom!"

"Shut up, dragon." Cyn said, leaping from the stands. As she approached Elrin, she chuckled slightly. "Thank you for awakening me." As

"Uh... your... welcome?" Elrin said nervously as Cyn affectionately rubbed her face against him. Before he could react, Cyn bit his neck, causing him to whimper in agony. Bound and helpless, Elrin fell to his knees, begging for help. People ran out of the cathedral in a panic.

"Cyn! Stop!" Will cried, running down to her. She suddenly released Elrin, who fell weakly on the ground, fang marks on his neck.

"Dragon blood is pretty good!" Cyn giggled, looking at Will.

"Cyn! Please! Stop this! Don't you recognize me?" Will asked, tears welling up in his eyes as he saw the cold gaze she gave him.

"Of course. Your that human who fucked me, and prevented me from mating with one of my own kind." Cyn growled, looking back at Elrin. "Anyways, I want to go back to torturing that cute little dragon. He is really tasty." Hearing her talk like this tore him apart. How could his kind, gentle, sweet lover turn into such a cold monstrosity?

"Cyn! Stop!" Will yelled, tackling her to the ground, pinning her on her back.

"Will... you really want me to kill you, don't you?" Cyn said, glaring at him. "That can be arranged." She laughed, kicking him off with her back legs. As he hit the ground, Will instinctively rolled to the side, barely missing being leapt on by Cyn, who turned, and tried to bite him. Leaping to his feet, Will leapt out of range, and looked down at her.

"Snap out of it! Please!" Will cried, tear rolling down his cheek.

"She is... holding back." Elrin laughed, slowly standing up.

"Cyn! I know you are a good person. Come on! Snap out of it!" Will said, taking a deep breath. "Please."

"You know, I'm tired of these games. Allow me to test my powers." Cyn giggled, opening her mouth. Suddenly, dark energy poured out of her mouth, as people ran in fear. Will, in desperation, leapt at Cyn... but lost consciousness before he could reach her.

~~~~~~~
"Will... wake up!" Ryan's voice echoed, causing him to open his eyes.
"Where is she? Where is Cyn?" Will cried, looking around. When he saw what happened, he was stunned. The entire kingdom was covered in black clouds. People in the streets were turned to stone. Elrin was gone. The Cathedral was in ruins. "Did... she do this?" Will asked, tears welling up.
"I'm afraid... we may have to... kill her to undo the spell on this kingdom." Ryan said, lowering his head.
"We can't!" Will cried.
"Look at what she did. Cyn is gone, Will." Ryan said, tears forming in his eyes.
"What happened exactly?" Will asked, shaking.
"Cyn unleashed a curse upon the town. Almost everyone was put under the spell. In fact, I am guessing that you, me, and Elrin were the only ones not affected." Ryan said, looking around.
"How did we survive?" Will asked, looking at Ryan.
"She probably didn't know we were immune to the curse, and left the town." Ryan said, thinking. "I figure she took Elrin somehow for some reason. I wasn't affected, probably, because I am the same species as her, and probably have a high magic resistance. The question is... how did you withstand it?"
"I don't know." Will said, looking around.
"You are just a normal human... aren't you?" Ryan asked, looking at Will.
"Last time I checked..." Will said, looking at himself.
"Anyways, we need to stop her. If she has enough power to do this in one move, imagine what she could do to the world. I hate to say it, but Elrin probably killed a large part of the dragon population... and you really don't want to awaken my powers, or Cyn wouldn't be the only powerful, world-destroying Arcane Drake." Ryan said, sighing. "Humans can't approach her, and there are no Dragon Lords, since there are no dragons to christen them."
"So who is going to stop her?" Will asked.
"Maybe if we work together..." Ryan said, before being interrupted.
"I won't kill Cyn. There has to be another way!" Will cried, looking at him.
"Will, I know you love her... but... if it is between the fate of millions, or the fate of one, which do you choose?"
"I... I will save everyone. Cyn... the people under the curse... all of them." Will said, determined. "Come on, Ryan. We need to go to the library. I want to look up a little bit of information. Maybe there is something there that can help us."
"Alright. I'll let you call the shots." Ryan said, taking a breath. "Just... if the time comes... make the right descision."
