The Eternal One: Awakening

Andrew, wait up, called an unknown voice behind him. Andrew turned around to see Zack running down the hallway towards him. Zach was a white tiger, and his best friend. The two had met during their freshman year of high school, and had been friends ever since. "Zach hay, hurry up we'll be late for math class." "Maybe, but I'm not that worried about it," replied Zach. That was the one thing about him that Andrew didn't like. Zach could be the most non-caring person in the world at times. He had a great heart, but didn't let things bother him. As they walked into Mr. Harris's classroom, the bell rang signaling they had just made it in time. "See," said Zach "told you we would make it." Andrew just rolled his eyes at the two made their way to their desks. The class passed quickly with little excitement. Mr. Harris was a great teacher, its just that neither of them cared for the topic. Fortunately his class was the last class of the day, and as the bell rang signaling their freedom for the weekend they headed out of the door and towards the front doors. They talked of various plans, but both knew the weekend would end as it always did. Zach would end up at Andrew's house playing halo on Andrew's giant tv. Andrew's family was very wealthy, but looking at Andrew you would never really know. He did drive a Mustang, but it wasn't flashy. Andrew was never that keen to show off his money. He loved his parents deeply, but they were never home. There was always a business deal to make, always a trip to take. In fact, Andrew had been on his own since his freshman year. He and Zach were now seniors, and looking towards graduation.

They reached Andrews car and Zach climbed in as Andrew unlocked it. Zach always rode with Andrew to school, however, for different reasons than was really known. It was thought that they were just really good friends, and it was true they were. However, their relationship went much deeper than was publically known. They were not only friends; they had become mates. In their sophomore year, Zach had come out to Andrew that he was gay; Andrew had known for a long time that he was also gay but kept it to himself. Once they both admitted to the other the truth of themselves, they found themselves being drawn to each other. Slowly their relationship evolved beyond typical friendship and became something more, something grand, and something both of them wanted and needed. Andrew's parents knew about their relationship, but didn't care. As they had put it, "it was his business who he associated himself with." While Zach had come out to his parents, they didn't know the extent of his and Andrew's relationship. It wasn't that he minded them knowing, its just that they would suspect it was for Andrew's money. In reality, he didn't care for money. Andrew had often tried to buy Zach expensive gifts, but Zach was always hesitant to accept them. Therefore, Andrew instead had given him a room in the mansion where Zach kept his finer things. As they drove up to the gates of the house, they opened and Andrew pulled around and into the large garage. As they walked into the house, Andrew's butler greeted them. "Good day Master Andrew, hello Master Zachary." "Good evening Hugo," chimed out both of the boys at the same time. "Master Andrew, your parents called today. They will be extending their business trip to China by a month." Andrew just rolled his eyes and walked away. Zach felt bad for Andrew. All the money in the world and he would trade it all for parents who spent time with him. Zach headed for the kitchen. Ron, the chef, was in there as usual cooking away at dinner. "Zach my boy," began the always cheerful Ron, what can I do for you today? "Would it be too much to ask for a snack?" The fox looked at Zach with almost a hurt look, then quickly laughed. "Of course not, its what I'm here for. You go on up to Andrew and I'll send it up." Zach thanked him and then headed towards the study.

As Zach walked into the study, he noticed Andrew weeping in a chair beside the large fireplace. He quickly hurried over to him to see what was the matter. Andrew was a wolf, and as such was adverse to showing emotions openly. He quickly attempted to straighten himself up, but Zach would have none of it. "Now don't start that BS with me about you being ok. We both know you are not." The large wolf sagged back into his chair. "It's just my parents are never home. I don't even know exactly where they are, just that they are in China. We are the wealthiest family in five countries but I would give it all for time with them." Zach sat on the arm of the chair and wrapped his arms around the wolf. It's ok hun, we'll work through this together. "I'm sorry Zach, I shouldn't be unloading my worries onto you." "Andrew, I love you very much. Your problems are my problems. Its part of being mates; we share the good times and the bad." Andrew smiled at his tiger. He loved Zach more than anything in the world. He stood up and locked him into a deep, passionate kiss. This took Zach off guard because Andrew had never really been the affectionate type. Then, what happened next shocked him even more. Andrew walked away and out of the office swaying his tail to and fro as he went. Zach followed and they went into Andrew's room where the large TV and Xbox 360 was. They turned it on and sat in two overly comfortable chairs that were in front of the TV. Andrew's room was huge by comparison of any other bedroom Zach had ever seen. It had its own bathroom, a large TV, fire place, and a very nice computer. As the two played Hugo walked into the room and brought snacks for both boys. Hugo looked kindly upon the two. He had practically raised Andrew and had grown very fond of Zach. Andrew's parents were never home and it had been Hugo's job to raise them. He detested the added responsibility at first, but had grown to look upon Andrew as his own cub. He was an older wolf, he had seen a lot in his time. When Andrew came out to him that he was gay, it had been a shock, but hadn't changed his love for the boy. When Andrew brought home Zach, he had seen the bond between them before they realized it themselves. It had been a pleasure to watch them grow. Zach's parents were very understanding of their friendship and had all but allowed Zach to move in with Andrew. Granted the house had enough bedrooms to accommodate Zach and many more. He turned to leave but remembered something Andrew's parents had asked of him. Tomorrow was his 18th birthday. He was to be given a locket that had been passed down through the family for generations. Legend was that it had mystical powers, but nothing had ever been proven. Hugo walked out of the room and headed to his own quarters lost in thought.

The night passed quickly for Andrew and Zach. As was usual for them, they teased each other almost constantly. It ended with a passionate make out session followed by falling asleep cuddling. They were romantically involved, but their relationship didn't revolve around sex. Nor did they want it too. Although it was something they both deeply enjoyed. Zach woke up to Andrew's arms wrapped around him. He was being used as a life-sized plush toy. He chuckled to himself thinking that it was a shame he wasn't cream filled. He slowly slipped away from Andrew and eased out of the room and headed to his own. He was only wearing boxer shorts but it didn't matter much to him. He was physically fit and had nothing to be ashamed of. He quickly got a shower and dressed for the day then headed to the kitchen to order a special breakfast for his birthday wolf.

Andrew woke up to Zach easing out of the room, he smiled to himself as the tiger slowly shut the door. He knew he was probably up to something, but didn't know what. He lay in bed for a while and then got out of bed himself. He slowly showered and got himself dressed for the day. He was officially 18. Zach had turned 18 a month earlier, now they were the same age again. He made his way to the dining room to find a full breakfast prepared by his foxy chef and both Hugo and Zach waiting on him. "Well good morning sleep," said Zach. "Happy birthday Master Andrew," said Hugo. Andrew smiled at both of them. The love of his life and his surrogate father both waiting to share this day with him. He couldn't ask for more. They ate and talked happily. Andrew smiled at Zach knowing that this evening would be a lot of fun. When Zach turned 18, he had held off on sex knowing that Andrew was a minor and he was now considered an adult. Andrew didn't care, but Zach did so they waited. Now they were both the same age and Andrew had a week's worth of fun to make up on.

As they finished eating, Hugo took a box out of his pocket. "Master Andrew, this is a gift your parents wished for me to give you. It is a locket that has been passed down in your family for generations. It is said to have mystical powers, but I assure you its just a plain old locket." Andrew took the gift and opened the box. The locket itself was beautiful. It was gold with a golden chain. It was ornately decorated with the image of a wolf on the front. "Its beautiful, thank you Hugo." Andrew got up and walked to a mirrored cabinet that held fine china. He picked the locket up and put it on. He turned around to ask how it looked but froze as he looked at Zach and Hugo. It felt as though electric current was running through his body. His fur stood on end and his eyes rolled back into his head. Zach screamed Andrews name, but Hugo stopped him from touching Andrew. "Let me go, I have to save him." "If you touch him you'll suffer whatever's wrong with him too." Suddenly Andrew's body began to glow, he grew rigid. Then, he collapsed onto the floor. His lifeless body barley breathing. Andrew felt himself slowly fading from unconsciousness. His eyes could no longer see all he could hear was Zach yelling his name. Even that seemed to be so very far away. He was alone, afraid, and seemingly falling through a black void.

What happened to Andrew? Does anybody in the house know? Will there be a chapter two? We shall see....
