Xion walked into the cafeteria he grabbed a tray and got some pizza. He trailed his way to the corner of the room where no one else usual sat. He watched on as everyone else seemed so chatty. In the inner thoughts of Xion he hated school but his parents pushed him on to stay. For what ever reason maybe unknown to Xion himself is that he wanted to impress his family. He always wanted a job but was too lazy to search. As soon as he got home most of the time he just turn on Glenn's play station three and play for a while. He ate when he was hungry and usually went to go nap which in turn would mostly have him sleeping into the next day. As Xion did his usual evaluation on his life he heard a tray slam on the table. He awoke from his trance to see one of the rapper dogs came to sit with him.
Xion said, "Hey beat it dog. Don't you have you're little posse to join or something."
The dog said, "Ah yo, chill out dog. I mean ah fox. The name's Dizzy. I've seen you up in the corner for the past year now. Man you trippin' big time thinkin' somethin's gonna come to you if you wait. I've seen you wait a year and it ain't done shit to help yourself. But I feel you. I see that pain man. Hell I can smell it from a mile away. I've been the same way for a while myself. I try foolin' myself by hangin' with that posse. Truth is I don't even know them like that. Half the time I'm dozen of thinkin' how I'm gonna make it big time."
Xion said, "It's easy. Just degrade women in a rap song. Rap about sex, drugs and money, I mean that's what everyone else does. They don't even need to finish school. Making it big time is a peace of cake for someone like you."
Dizzy said, "Man you take the stereotypes and just throw them at me thinkin' that's gonna drive me to do it. Man you crazier than I thought. I hate the easy rode. That rode ain't gonna make my mama happy that's for sure. I can't be like other rapper's I have to find my own way man. We both have rode blocks, hell everybody does. The difference is who is willing to push past the rode blocks. You see I actually respect women too much. My mama thought me how much women struggled in this world. And drugs are just equal to prison most times. And I'm not gonna ever brag about money I never had. And once I get the money I gonna help my family get out of the ghetto."
Xion looked down, "That's a lot of talk. That's why I don't even bother saying anything most times because must times no one really ever pays attention."
Dizzy said, "Well you are." Xion realized that ever since Dizzy sat down that he didn't even take another bite of pizza. Dizzy asked, "So you gonna be a friend or just someone I start talking to in lunch."
Xion asked, "Have you ever written a song?"
Dizzy said, "Well check this out." Dizzy first slid his tray over then Dizzy raped, "In the time of the timeless it at seemed so lifeless than from the deepest darkest of caves came brave warriors to relieve the heartless beads of countless souls connected to the life stream and as the fought on with zealous their inner demons took flight with rage-less plight and in the heart of night the brave wicked warriors had finally realized it was there time to shine. There brave hearts took them to there beloveds within a sick melody of a timeless parody where things rap around and chock you and reality bends back and stacks them with a fierce and ultimate challenge to relive the day over and over again." Dizzy took a large bit from his pizza and said, "That's all I got for now. I know it isn't so tight but I'll fix it up sooner or later."
Xion said, "I suppose talking at lunch will due. I mean after that is like the only time were allowed to talk anyway."
Dizzy said, "I can dig that. See you around." The bell rang and the day went on. Xion couldn't stop thinking about how Dizzy just came and talked the way he did. There was something about it that seemed uplifting. Greg passed by in the arms of many women and some men dragging further behind him. He was just a hunk that almost any single animal would want to have fun with and that even became Greg's catchphrase. The rest of the day just seemed to fly by. As soon as he got home he felt a pillow of sleepiness hit him. He rested for the rest of that day and managed to get up to take a shower.
Xion was even drearier today since it was Saturday. But today was his visit with the family's psychiatrist. He got dressed with the first things he spotted in his drawer. His mom drove him their. Xion brought his music player and just listened to a new band he found called Nocturnal Rites. (Real Band.) Xion when straight into the room he leaned against the long couch. The psychiatrist came in. Xion said, "Hey Vincent."
Vincent was a wise raccoon that studied in families. And the one family that kept him puzzled and still paid well for was the fox family. Vincent sat down as well on the taller white chair. Vincent asked, "So how are you feeling today?"
Xion said, "Confused and lost as usual. Yesterday was a most uncanny day."
Vincent asked, "Like to talk about it?"
Xion said, "Well some dog named Dizzy just came up and sit with me. He talked about how our problems are similar. It made me think a lot."
Vincent asked, "Think a lot about what?"
Xion said, "Life. It's weird it's like I don't want to exist in it but I want to at the same time. I want to do all I can but I'm too lazy to do anything."
Vincent asked, "You think this animal has in some way inspired you?"
Xion said, "I'm not sure. I know all this thinking gives me headaches."
Vincent said, "Ok then let's switch the subject then. What about your brother?"
Xion said, "He's still the same sexual one that everyone adores."
Vincent asked, "Do you adore him?"
Xion said, "Not really. His business is his and my business is mine."
Vincent asked, "So he never tried to get with you?"
Xion said, "Well he'd never actually do that unless I allowed it. And I will never allow it. But he has asked me once or twice."
Vincent looked at the clock and said, "Well our time is about up. My recommendation for today is to follow up with this Dizzy. Sometimes one only needs a friend to see his dream come true."
Xion stood up and said, "My dream is beneath the sand."
Vincent said, "I believe you'll make it. All you need is a shovel." Xion left and got back in the car. Xion slept over those thoughts given to him by Vincent. Xion slept the next day as well. When he woke up in the morning he finally felt well rested for the first time in his life. He got ready and left to catch the bus. As much as Xion hated school he always seemed to arrive so early. In most cases he was actually the first one there most times. The first of his classes seem to just take forever and Xion seemed rather wanting to get to lunch. Xion got ready and grabbed some food and went right back to that corner. He put his headphones on. He thought that Dizzy was going to be one of those one time appearances. That he would go back to his little group and continue on. Most of lunch went by and still Xion remained alone. Xion was deep into his music then he got a tap on the shoulder. Xion took his headphones off and looked up to see Dizzy sat down. Dizzy whore a white t-shirt with some chains, he also had a clue cap and really baggy blue jeans. Dizzy asked, "What'd up player?"
Xion said, "Please don't call me that."
Dizzy said, "Well sorry, you never told me you're name."
Xion said, "My name is Xion."
Dizzy asked, "Well what's up Xion."
Xion said, "Just eating and listening to some metal."
Dizzy said, "I respect a lot of metal artist. One of my favorites is Howard Jones. That man can sing and scream. And best of all he breaks away from the stereotype. He's a black man doin' metal."
Xion asked, "So you've heard of Killswitch Engage I'm impressed. Most people don't know that group. Than again most people on the outside only know Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Pink Floyd. I have plunged myself and found some great bands over the years."
Dizzy said, "You wouldn't mind sharing some. You see I might be a rapper at heart but I can't stand to listen to it. All that junk you mentioned on Friday makes me sick when I hear it. Rapper's today don't even try. Hip-hop is a curve ball for me too. Lately I've listened to mainly rock music and very little metal but it's hard to expand when you don't know."
Xion said, "Well let me think, there's Dragon Force. This might be a little extreme as far as the speed they play at. There is Night Wish which in the case there older music is better with their originally singer. There is All That Remains which is ok in my book. And I'll end at Nocturnal Rites which is a band I found very recently and that is a good band."
Dizzy said, "So I guess this means I should start sitting here. I don't have a computer at home but I manage to find music elsewhere for free. You can keep me updated if anything or anyone else comes up."
Xion actually sighed and said, "Man I wish one day I could come up in some band."
Dizzy said, "I know what you mean. I got some advice I've kept tellin' myself and maybe it will help you more. You gotta start simple man. You can't shove metal down animal's or people necks. You gotta start small, start simple. You see when you mentioned each of those bands I automatically chose in what order in which I'd pick them out 'cause of how you described them. You can start here and now my friend but you gotta start small. I'm sayin' even if you have to go a much a change as doing so hard rock. Slowly win people over ya' know."
Xion said, "That does make since. You're wise for the type of dog you are and for your age."
Dizzy said, "I'm a mixed bread man. I'm like five things in one. I'm like part Dalmatian, part pooch, part Doberman and hell I forgot the others. And as for age and wisdom are intertwined, age is just a number."
Xion asked, "The question is where to start?"
Dizzy said, "Well that might take a while to figure out. How about you let me over and we can talk all about it."
Xion said, "My parents would get way to hyped up that I'm bringing home a friend."
Dizzies face was so serious after he said that. Dizzy remained with his serious face as he said, "You called me friend."
Xion looked down, "Huh I guess I did."
Dizzy smiled and his smile was spread real wide. Dizzy said, "Alright then there's no question about it me and you are gonna figure all this out together. Up top man." Dizzy raised his hand. Xion also did so in a more hesitant manor. The high five was so load it spread through out the room. Then there was a silence among the other students as the all looked in the corner and some of the animals even gasped. Never before in history had two different animals became friends, especially two different animals with very different personalities. That was even more apparent to everyone that these two were opposites. However in Xion and Dizzies world they found something to connect. There deep passion to change music forever. No one else could see it while Xion and Dizzy could feel it. It was a deep gut feeling indeed. And the room full of stares and glares didn't help the scenario that was quickly created by one high five. Dizzy turned to everyone else. He had a confused look on his face Dizzy asked, "Damn what you all lookin' at? You all got food to eat." The principle entered the cafeteria and pointed to both Dizzy and Xion. They dragged themselves to the principles office and then everyone else resumed eating. Xion and Dizzy sat down. The principle said, "This is a school first thing first so may I remind both of you that this action might just coast you. Secondly this is a world where animals stick to there own kind. You two almost created a revolution that will only end in disaster. There is a reason animals stick to there own kind it because it is our nature. We can never live in a world where cat's like dogs. Or Where Tiger's like deer. It can't happen. Tiger's eat deer and dogs chase cats. Now I going to ask both of you when it comes to go lunch from know on that each of you will stick to your own table."
Xion said, "Yeah, sure ok."
The principle looked at Dizzy. Dizzy said, "Well you mentioned cats and dogs and Tiger's and deer. You ain't said nothin' about a dog and a fox."
The principle said, "Rest assured it's still out of the question."
Dizzy asked, "And what is so bad a about a revolution? I mean this school is in terrible condition already it can't get worse. You see the real problem is that the dog is always bein' taught how to chase the cat. A dog can't do nothin' else with a cat cause it grows in him deep. That's why bullies remain as bullies, 'cause they only get taught to be a bully. If I learned anything in my short life as that you just have to let is spin baby. You can't put your finger on it and tell it to stop 'cause eventually it's gonna find a way to spin. And man it will spin even faster than last time."
The principle asked, "So you're not going to listen to me?"
Dizzy said, "Clearly I am but I'm not sure you are. For an elephant that must really be weird. Man if I get expelled I could care less. I told my parents it's either school or nothin' and when I say nothin' I mean death. I ain't got no reason to live if no one's gonna look at me twice anyway. And plus on top of all that legally you can't expel me for talking at lunch it's not against the rules. Everybody talks during lunch dude. And ya' know if anybody should be startin' change it should be us young kids anyway."
The principle said furious voice, "I will not stand for this."
Xion actually joked, "Then have a seat."
The principle said, "I don't care if I have to find a loophole I will get you two out of this school someday soon."
Dizzy said, "Well until then me and my friend here got places to be."
Dizzy walked out first and Xion quickly followed. Xion asked, "Man that was intense. I thought it was going to be over right than and there."
Dizzy said, "Man you gotta chill. That old man lives in the old days. His mind set his all wrong for our time dude. We are the future man. And I don't know about you but I actually want to make this school different make it better. One day I wanna see me kid walkin' down these halls more confident than me right now able to live the way he or she wants to live befriend anyone he or she choices."
Xion said, "And here I thought your only goal was music. You have drive unlike anyone I've ever met before. You make me want to try harder too."
Dizzy said, "Than I say we give this entire school a ride it will never forget. And were gonna do it togetha' no matter what that Principle says. And why stop with us I've always heard that there are others like us who want that change but are a bit afraid to come out and say it. We can get those people and we can become something great."
Xion said, "It's a wild plan. I'm not used to going all out like this but if I means that one day my dream will come true and I'll make the effort."
Dizzy said, "Then it's settled. I'll meet you after school."
Xion said, "Ok." The rest of the day went by quick at least for in Xion's mind. He was so looking forward to the rest of the day for once in his life. He meet up with Dizzy and walked took the bus to his house. They entered inside and the rest of his family was eating. They entered the kitchen then they all looked at Xion. There mouths dropped. Even Greg who was actually most surprised. Greg had only lured in other foxes at the school which there were plenty of but this was uncanny. Xion said, "Um, Everyone I'd like you to meet my friend Dizzy."
Dizzy asked, "What'd up?"
