Dimensional Scream
"I definitely think we did better today than yesterday," Shinx said as he curled up in his little nest, preparing to go to sleep. "Even though we didn't get much more done. But still," he yawned, "I'm proud of our accomplishments. Aren't you?"
Instead of answering right away, Riolu stared hesitantly at Shinx. He had been worried about him all day. Earlier, Riolu had tripped over a small rock, and Shinx had helped him up. It was when Riolu touched Shinx that he experienced another Dimensional Scream. This one wasn't a vision, though. Instead of catching a glimpse of either the past or the future (it always changed and was always indeterminate), he only heard a voice...Shinx's voice. And in the vision, Shinx was calling Riolu's name.
Riolu had been thinking about it all day. He was trying to figure out what tone was being used by Shinx in the vision. It sounded a little distressed, like he was in trouble or something. He figured it must be something that happens in the future, because Shinx has never said Riolu's name like that before.
The only reason he didn't tell Shinx he might be in trouble, is because he wasn't sure if that was the case. In the vision, Shinx had said his name multiple times. And some of them sounded...somewhat ecstatic, for lack of a better word. So for all he knew, it could be nothing to worry about.
Riolu nodded. "Yeah, definitely..." He looked away from the other Pokemon and lay back against the straw of his own nest, tossing his arms behind his head. He stared up at the ceiling, then at the wall to the right of his nest. He was very worried about Shinx. Ever since meeting him on that beach, he had grown to care for the Pokemon a lot.
He looked back in Shinx's direction, and saw that the Pokemon had fallen asleep. Shinx was curled in a ball and lost to the confines of dreamland.
Riolu put his worries out of his mind for now, rolled over on his side (facing Shinx, of course), and tried to go to sleep. Eventually, he could feel himself getting drowsier and drowsier. He soon fell asleep as well.

It was hard to breathe...very hard, in fact. But why, though? Riolu was just standing there in the middle of nothingness. What was making it so hard for him to take in oxygen?
He tried to step forward, but he couldn't do that either. He simply couldn't. Why? What was holding him in place?
Help...he needed help. Shinx! That's it!
He opened his muzzle to call for his friend...but no sound came out. He couldn't scream for help. He couldn't even exhale! Why not? What was stopping him from doing anything?

He was breathing...he was awake. And he now knew why he couldn't move before.
On top of him, clearly wide awake as well, was his partner in exploration, Shinx. The Pokemon had been laying on him. For quite some time, apparently. Whether Shinx had been asleep or not, Riolu wasn't sure. All he knew was that the Pokemon was wide awake, and Riolu was happy to see him.
He wrapped his arms around Shinx and hugged him tightly. He could hear Shinx purring, and soon, the Pokemon began nuzzling him.
"I guess you had a bad dream," Shinx said.
"Yeah," Riolu breathed. "You weren't there. I tried to call for you, but I couldn't...I was scared--" He stopped when he felt something warm and slimy travel across his cheek. Did Shinx just lick him?
Riolu looked into Shinx's eyes with a confused expression, and got a gaze of affection in return. He then felt something hard and hot poking at his belly. He had a clue as to what it was too.
He opened his maw to speak, but was cut off when Shinx leaned forward to kiss him. At first he was shocked, then a little nervous, then...he began to kiss back.
At first, the kiss was a little awkward to Riolu. And it became even more awkward when he began to wonder why he was enjoying it so. When he was a human, Riolu had never once showed the slightest love interest in other boys. Or even Pokemon, for that matter. What made Shinx so different in both instances? Was it because he had been his only friend? Could be...even when he was human, Riolu didn't have any friends. Or a Pokemon.
Could that be it? Could that be why he was enjoying this kiss so much? Because Shinx filled both gaps? Because Shinx completed him?
Shinx broke the kiss and licked Riolu's cheek once more.

"Ever done this before?" Shinx asked. It was as if he knew Riolu was nervous. Which wasn't really that surprising. After all, Riolu was 'the emanation Pokemon.' His nervousness was probably 'emanating' right off of him.

Before answering, Riolu gulped, a little louder than he meant to. "N--no..." he stammered.
