Jennifer Scale stood at the bar of the tavern in a new district of Goldpeak, Ironet. In reality, she was James Scale, captain of the starship Red Comet. He had escaped from K'tann with Lord Xevog's daughter, Ceres, and needed a place to lay low. "Excuse me, uh, are you taking in any new workers?"

"Yes."

"Okay, when can I start?"

"You could start now, the factory workers should be coming in soon."

"What all will I be doing?"

"Just going around taking and bringing orders. Before you start, you might want to head to the back for a bit."

James/Jenn nodded and went into the back room, through the door next to the bar. There, in between two stacks of barrels, was a chest. She knelt in front of it and lifted the lid. She held her breath and lifted a folded article of cloth. She laid it out and unfolded it hoping that it didn't have any mildew.

None was to be found. She let out a sigh of relief before standing up and starting to undress. After undressing, she started working with the uniform. It wasn't hard to put on although, it did reveal some.

She went back out into the main room to find that men had began entering. She sighed and approached a table, occupied by a pair of sergals. "Can I help you?"

"Possibly."

"What'll it be?"

"Two scotches."

Jenn nodded, went to the bar and repeated the order. The bartender nodded and ducked under the bar. While the bartender prepared two mugs, Jenn went to another table. There, she found a familiar looking kitsune. "Tak?"

He sat up and croaked, "Hai?"

"Small world."

"Well, I'm just here collecting commission."

"Commission? For what?"

"The stores I own."

"Oh. Weapons?"

"Hai. Badly made ones at that."

"I can see that. So, let me guess, Sake?"

"Hai, you know me!"

"As soon as possible."

Jenn turned and went to another table. She looked at the patrons and asked, "Can I help you?"

"Yes."

"What'll it be?"

The human raised a finger and grunted, "Rum."

Jenn nodded, went to the bar and said, "We have an order for Sake and rum."

Jenn watched as the bartender filled mugs and set them on a tray. Then, he handed it over, and she carried it to the table with the two sergals. "Two scotches?"

"Thank you."

She set two mug on the table, right before they took them up and swigged. Then, she went to Takeo and said, "One Sake."

She set a mug on the table, slightly bending over the table. Then, she turned around and set the rest of the mugs she had on the other table. "And rum."

Most of the evening was spent like this. Takeo had long since passed out when one of the policemen in the tavern called, "Twelve o'clock, midnight!"

With that, Jenn opened the door to the back room and stopped. She felt like someone was behind her. She looked over her shoulder and came face to face with the bartender. He handed over a pouch, and she began to strip out of the uniform. "Uh mister, do you mind?"

The bartender turned around as Jenn revealed her chest. When she heard whistling, she yelped and crossed her arms. Takeo stood behind the bartender. She looked at the bartender and asked, "Uh, do you mind if I keep this for a while?"

"Ah," the bartender shrugged and said, "Those things were old anyway."

With that, Jenn covered her chest and approached Takeo. She allowed him to grope her chest and said, "Let's go."

With that, she led him outside, with his hand on her chest. She jumped and yelped when she felt a pinch. "Ouch!"

"What?"

She sighed, shook her head and said, "Let's just get to the ship."

She broke out of his grip, took him by the hand and led him through the dark streets. When he vomited, Jenn ignored it in favor of getting back to the ship. He simply gripped onto Jenn and dragged his feet along. She picked him up and carried him outside the town. There, they found the ship. She carried him inside and set him down on a crate.

With that, she slowly traveled up to the bridge. Along the way, she came across Tacit and Astar. Tacit stopped and stared at Jenn as she walked by. However, Astar didn't see him stop and ended up trampling him. Astar jumped and looked down at his younger brother, who glared up at him and said, "Next time, watch where you're going!"

"Sorry!"

He stood up and pushed his back in before looking up and asking, "Did you see zhat?"

"See wh-what?"

"Dad in maid getup."

"What?"

Tacit pointed over his shoulder and said, "I zhink he went zhat way."

Astar went to look and lost it bursting into a fit of laughter. Jenn turned around, darted into a room and slammed the door shut. Tacit came and asked, "Did you see 'im? What'd he look like?"

"An ugly maid!"

Tacit snickered, and then cackled in his high pitched tone. He went over to Astar and flopped onto the floor laughing as if he were being tickled. Finally, once his laughter began to die down, Tacit looked up and saw Emily staring at them. "What? What's wizh zhe long face?"

Instead of answering, she slapped them with one flick of the wrist. "Grow up!"

"Did ya have to slap us?"

"Yes!"

While rubbing his cheek, Tacit stood up, took a deep breath and said, "Okay okay, we had our fun."

Then, Emily went to James/Jenn, who had already passed out.

James woke up early the next morning for the next shift. Before leaving, she left a note to let everyone know where she went. However, once she went into town, she stopped in her tracks once she saw none other than Xevog. She went into the tavern hoping he wouldn't recognize James. However, he followed her with a grin stretched across his snout. "Well, well."

"Can I help you?"

She tried to come off as calm in front of him. She opened the door to the tavern only for him to grab her wrist. "What the?"

"Do I know you?"

"No."

"Oh well, can I get to know you?"

"I guess."

She went inside with him, broke from him and sat down. "So uh..."

She could feel a clawed hand on her lap before he asked, "Do you want a drink?"

She was experiencing some inner conflict. One half wanted him as a partner, the other half kept telling her who he was. "I guess? Well, I do work here."

"Well then, do you wanna go to my place as well?"

"What?"

She looked at the clock and said, "Uh, my shift is starting soon."

"After?"

"We can talk about it."

"Well, okay then, sweet cheeks!"

She hastily stood up and went to the bar, where the bartender stood. "I'm here!"

"Good, now get busy."

"Yes sir!"

She went to a random occupied table and asked, "Can I help you?"

"A burbon."

"Coming up!"

She went to another table and asked the same question. "Whiskey," said a bearded man in a dark brown patchwork coat and a derby with a pipe in hand. She nodded, went to the bar and said, "One bourbon and one whiskey."

She gave a quick glance towards the door hoping that someone from the ship would show. While the bartender set some bottles and mug on the counter and pulled a cork, she went to another table and asked, "Can I help you," while glancing at Xevog.

"Surprise me."

"Another order over here!"

She went back to the bar, took the tray and went around to the tables relaying drinks. She looked back at Xevog in time to catch him winking. She turned to the bartender and asked, "When does my shift end?"

"Four hours."

"Oh boy, I hope Em or Tak show up," she muttered to herself as she approached a table. Then, she put on a fake smile and asked, "Can I help you?"

"Ale."

"Coming right up!"

She saw Takeo come in with Hisa and muttered, "Oh, thank god."

She approached them and said, "Thank god you two are here!"

Hisa raised an eyebrow and asked, "Why?"

James/Jenn pointed at Xevog. "I still have four hours, and I don't know if he's going to stay for them! I'll need an extra set of eyes."

"My father can do that."

"Good."

She then raised her voice from a whisper to ask, "Would either of you like anything?"

"No."

"Okay."

She turned around and repeated the question to another patron. the patron shook his head, and she went to another table, unknowingly showing some cleavage. "Can I help you?"

"Depends on if you are single."

She sighed, turned around and took one step before stopping in her tracks. She could feel something under her tail. She looked over her shoulder to find another dragon. A short one. "Oh, hi."

"Hello, sorry i poked your tail!"

"Oh, it's okay."

For the next couple hours, James went around taking orders and bringing drinks. Throughout the time, Xevog never left. Then, Fen came in. He took one look at Xevog before James called, "Oh, hi."

He nodded to her. "Can I help you," she asked with a very obviously fake grin.

She met eyes with Fen for a split second before he looked at Xevog. She saw a sai under his cloak and looked at Xevog as well. Then, they made more eye contact, this time in a silent agreement. He stood up, threw his cloak away and dove after Xevog while brandishing his weapon. "I am going kill you!" he screamed, adding the lie of, "Stop leering at my woman!"

At once, the man in the coat and derby sprang up, took up his pipe out of reach and grabbed him by the chest. "Don't!" the man shouted.

During the struggle, James rushed to the bartender and asked, "Is my shift up yet?"

The bartender took one look at the mess and scowled. He sighed, "Uh, yes."

Immediately, James went to Hisa and whispered, "Grab Fen, we're leaving!"

With that, Hisa scooped up her son and ran outside. James ran after and, once they were outside, panted, "I think it's a good time to start that sheep ranch I thought of! Are either of you interested in helping?"

"I possibly can," anwered Hisa.

"Would you rather build a cabin or get the sheep?"

"I can do both. My son will most likely be useless."

"Okay."

James marched to the Red Comet, traveled up the stairs into the lab and took a syringe. She injected herself and dropped the syringe on the floor. A moment later, James began to grow a set of udders. Then, she folded her wings, which disappeared, and her tail shrunk. She turned around and saw both of them gawking. "Yes, I'm becoming a cow."

"Why?"

"He'll recognize me as a dragon."

"Why not become a fox?"

"A fox?"

"Hai."

"Why a fox?"

Hisa shrugged, and James sighed before her snout morphed into that of a bovine. He saw Fen covering his mouth, possibly holding back laughter. "Ha ha ha," James sarcastically laughed. "Here we are, now to prepare."

She turned to Fen and asked, "Hey kid, do you know how to build a log cabin? If not, then could I trust you to get the right sheep?"

No response. "Hisa, you can get the sheep. Kid, you can help me build."

Hisa nodded and left. "I have a name, and why I have too?"

"It'll be good to know how to build later in life."

"No, it won't. All i need to do is hack off heads and take names."

"But, wouldn't it be nice to know?"

"No, be nicer to know your daughter!"

Fen narrowed his eyes, and the grin he already had grew wider. "she deserves my genes!"

"Uh huh, good luck trying to peg a sergal with military training."

"Oh I bet I can."

* * * * *

Fen, Hisa and James met Emily at a hill far from Goldpeak. It appeared that they already had some logs, possibly felled by Emily herself. James tried to whistle, but ended up only blowing. So, he let out a loud moo. Emily turned around and called, "Yes?"

"We're here-oh no!"

Sure enough, Fen was creeping towards the sergal. "You in heat?"

In response, Emily punched him in the nose. "I'm gay, and I turned down your father, why would I take you?"

"Well," said James, "I warned him you'd be difficult."

"I'm not difficult, I can't stand him and his father!"

"Well, let's get started."

"Of course. Need me to cut these more?"

"Yes.

With that, Emily went back to chopping. As she did, James took one of the carved logs and moved it on the foundation. While stacking logs, James began humming. They had left space for a fireplace. "So, do we have a plan for windows?"

"Yes!"

"Let's hear it."

"Two on the top and one by the door."

"Top? Are you talking about skylights?"

"No i mean the house is going to be two floors."

"Oh. Well, until we get that worked out, we could probably do with one. Hisa, do you need a lift to the market?"

"Hai, and domo arigato."

"Tacit!"

The yinglet waved a paw and said, "Yeah, yeah, I'm on it!"

After they both left for the ship, James turned to Emily and asked, "Now, where were we?"

"Windows."

"Oh yeah."

"I would only put one."

With that, they continued stacking logs on each other. As they did, James asked, "So, do you think we should make a planet for our private military?"

"Possibly."

"We can consider it."

James stopped for a moment to look at Fen, who was sitting on a log gawking at them. "Are you going to help, Fen?"

"No, I am going watch."

"Why?"

"Me get dirty?"

"And? It's just wood."

"I don't care!"

"Fine. Just be careful with those rocks."

James turned back towards Emily and asked, "Hey Em, what've we got to make windows with?"

"Wood, sticks and gravel."

"What about carving or cutting the windows?"

"We have glass cutters."

"Do they work on wood? I'm not exactly a beaver."

"No."

"Then, how can we cut out windows? Will I have to change into a rat, or beaver?"

"Beaver."

"Fine. Do you have a vial for that?"

Emily stopped and patted herself down. She pulled a vial from her pocket and said, "I have exactly one."

"Well, how about that."

She stretched her arm, and James took the vial. He activated the needle and stuck it in his arm. The first thing to happen was the extension of his two front teeth. He looked at Fen's cackling and snapped, "Laugh now, before I bite you with these!"

"What you going bite my wood?"

"Maybe."

That was met with a wolfish grin. "Trust me, you do not want to get bitten there by these."

"Maybe I do!"

Emily sighed and said, "I pray you never reproduce."

"Well," said James, "don't come crying to me when the water's red."

Then, right as Fen took Emily by the arm, James dove towards him with his mouth open. Fen jumped out of the way, and James took a stick and approached him.

"Enough!"

James looked in the direction of a deep, commanding voice. Right as he did, Fen took an open hand to the head. James saw what appeared to be a Mongol warrior standing over the now crying Fen. "Now, are you going to get handsy with others after that?"

However, Fen just ran off. James cupped his hands over his snout and called, "That's not an answer!"

He looked and saw Hisa coming back. "He will," she sighed. "He is like his father, who I've already nailed in the sack for cheating on me without consent, or letting me sleep with the woman as well."

"Well, now I'm afraid. I'm afraid of how many women he'll get handsy with."

"Probably more then we can count. Fai has over twenty kids he refuses to raise or take responsibility for. Only two he did were my two."

"Jesus christ!"

"Hai. Why so amazed? You know all he like do is make love and murder. Gods, I couldn't wait get away. He wants more and his father has over forty five kids."

"Move over, Ghenghis Khan, I mean my god! Forty five?"

"Hai, Ghenghis had over sixty five, though. Well, what do you want from war lords with high sex drive?"

"I remember feeling like going on a rampage multiple times on earth, but there were a couple big things keeping me from doing it."

"I am sure of it. Your time and way of life are few." *Hisa said* "Also, when I go back and we meet again, there might be an infant. I'm just going to let him."

"Ok."
