He,
Thank you.
Alas, he was gracious
Sheltered me, while I was broken,
Broken beyond repair, and he was there for me.
When I needed help most, he was there.
I felt prosecuted, and taken away from life's simplistic joys.
Fruit, poetry, paintings, and music,
A glorious noise.
Though, he held me, and he was strong.
He picked me up, and carried me along,
A path that I was too blind to see, he led me to an open sea.
The salty air, I smelled it clear.
Scented fresh, and lively, too.
I pinched myself. Was it a dream?
Pain struck me fast, and I turned to look at him.
He smiled, and our eyes met.
And, still, I smell the air, and feel your warmth.
Even while we share our distance,
I keep this memory, I won't forget.
