Sitting in one of the large buildings, once upon a time a corporate building, shouts of joy and happiness sounded. Dozens of humans and furs were singing and dancing with one another to a band playing string guitars, drums and other acoustic instruments. Electric instruments were long gone, since electricity had been lost for decades with the arrival of the dragons.

Dragon Hunter (or Jace, as the human female had called him during the day) sat with her and Si'la at the back, a large cup in her hand filled with beer while Si'la and Jace took water. Both dragons were close also, the Bronze behind the human female and the Black behind Jace.

The human female who always seemed to smile set her cup down. "Well Jace, either you don't remember me or have you just become cold to an old time friend?" she asked, while leaning her chair back on it's hind legs.

"I've not forgotten you Cia, why are you here though?" came Jace's question, gaining Si'la's attention by the fact that her mate knew this other female.

The female, or Cia, leaned forward resting her left arm on the table while leaning toward Jace. "That all you got to say, not 'How you been' 'Glad to see your doing alright'?" she said in a teasing tone, though Jace didn't react other than blinking once with an uninterested expression to her comments and soon she sighed and sat back. "You're as cold as ever, Jace."

Picking up her cup again she put it to her lips before speaking. "I came here in search of dragons to kill, much like you and I found all these people holed up here, damn near shot me on sight when they saw Kilika flying behind me." The bronze dragon lifted its head at the mention of its name.

Jace looked to the bronze dragon who's right eye was already locked onto him, though it did nothing more than just stare for a moment before lowering it's head back onto it's forepaws. The dragon's left eye was still clenched shut with dried blood staining the bronze scales that surrounded the eye, it would heal but it would take some time.

"If you came to kill dragons with yours then why are you still here, why haven't you moved on?" Jace asked as his eyes shifted back to Cia, who shook her finger in front of him.

"Ah ah, you tell me first, how are you still alive, I expected you to be nothing but an ash buried corpse but here you are...how?" she asked with her insane smile appearing on her lips once again.

Jace remained quiet for several moments before finally closing his eyes in thought. "After the initial attack on our people I managed to survive by hiding under Thri'sa, she protected me from the flames of the other dragon while the rest of our people and dragons were scorched." Silence followed after Jace spoke and even Cia's smile had faded at his words.

Cia finally slammed her cup down after the silence continued on too long for her. "Alright then, well it's good to know your still here Jace." She laughed loud after that, getting the dragons attention as well as the two sitting across from her. "You asked why I'm still here, right...well I'm happy here, there aren't many dragons that come here and it's comfortable."

Looking from the two in front of her, over the dozens of furs and humans with a smile, Jace's eyes followed hers, seeing that there was around seventy people around, all enjoying drinks and food without a care in the world. Jace watched for a moment while Cia watched him from the corner of her eye while a sly smile played on her lips. Jace after a moment stood and looked

at Cia.

"I'll be heading out with Si'la and Thri'sa in the morning, we still have dragons to kill." Cia's smile faded quickly as he spoke and she watched him as he turned and left the building through a large entrance, Thri'sa slipping out behind him, leaving Si'la, Cia and Kilika alone in a strange silence.

After a moment Cia looked to the little fur that Jace had left behind and smiled. "So what are you to Jace, some little thing he picked up on his travels?" Si'la jumped as she was spoken to but as she tried to talk nothing but air and a few unintelligible words formed from her muzzle and Cia raised her hands to silence her.

"Whoa whoa, don't strain yourself, so your Jace's friend...lover?" she asked and Si'la nodded to the second one which make Cia smile and raise her cup. "I never thought he of all people would be one to find someone but congratulations," she called out happily which seemed to put Si'la off, and soon Si'la had slipped out after Jace leaving Kilika and Cia alone.

Looking to Kilika with the cup to her lips "Was it something I said," she asked which only got a snort from Kilika who then turned her head away, now Cia was more or less alone completely in the large room of happy furs and humans.

Si'la searched for Jace and his dragon Thri'sa but seemed to only get turned around in the darkened city. Calming herself down and moving back to where Jace left, she started to let her dragon hunting skills come to a head, she had almost forgotten these skills since after her throat was slashed the village wouldn't let her practice any more. Kneeling down she looked at the foot and paw prints in the ash. Standing, she saw the tracks leading off and around the back of a large warehouse and soon Si'la moved after them.

Turning the corner, she quickly ducked back out of sight, peeking out silently as she saw Jace having been pushed up against the wall of the warehouse by Thri'sa's snout, now being held him firmly against it with his hands resting on the tip of her snout. Jace gritted his teeth as Thri'sa seemed to become agitated and shoved into the pinned human.

"Shut up, I know I lied but she doesn't need to know the truth," he hissed out with his fingers clawing at the dragon's snout as she slowly began to push harder.

Jace looked firmly into Thri'sa's eyes. "When you and I met, that is for us to know and not anyone else, I want that memory for myself Thri'sa." This made Thri'sa pull back, lessening the pressure and lowering Jace to his feet before slipping her long broad tongue out and over his face.

Si'la blushed and the fur on her ear tips stood on ends as she saw Jace's tongue slip from his own mouth to lap back at the dragons larger tongue. Si'la was confused. Slowly Thri'sa pulled her tongue back but Jace grabbed her snout, pulling her down and kissing her on the lips. It would have been funny to see Jace kiss Thri'sa if Si'la didn't feel a strong pull at her heart as she watched. Si'la nearly jumped out of her fur as her muzzle was grabbed from behind and pulled roughly back and pushed against the warehouse wall by Cia.

"I got worried when you all didn't come back but as I can see Jace and Thri'sa are having fun, but you..." looking around the corner quickly and smiling before looking back at Si'la as she spoke.

"What Jace and Thri'sa do when alone is none of your business, come with me since you've got tons of questions." Taking Si'la's paw she led her away from where Jace and Thri'sa were.

Pulling the fur back into the large building where everyone was having a good time, she sat her back down before Cia sat across from her and leant forward to look firmly at the fur.

"I know you got tons of questions and no voice to speak them so I'll just tell you a story about the people who Jace and I come from, so here, " Cia said, pushing a large mug of water toward Si'la before leaning herself back and relaxing a bit.

Lifting her head back slightly, she stared up at the ceiling. "You see, me and Jace are from a nomadic people that are no longer around I'm afraid. As you can already tell we befriend dragons and work with them...very closely." She lowered her head, looking over to her own dragon, having her gaze returned from her dragon before she turned back to Si'la.

"You see at the age of five we are introduced to a dragon who becomes our partner for the rest of our lives. Jace was no different and neither was I, except back then he smiled more and didn't have that cold dead look in the back of his eyes and Thri'sa didn't have the smell of blood surrounding her, some real bad things have happened to them."

Cia sighed softly before closing her eyes and lowering his head with a tilt to the side, her eyes slowly opening and showing a distant expression, as if she was in a different mind set.

"You see, Jace and Thri'sa used to play around all the time no matter what, they always had smiles and were completely fearless but now it's like their scarred and filled with only two emotions, love and hate. The love is for each other and the hate is for everyone else. I'm not exactly sure where you come in however..." her eyes quickly shifted to Si'la whose ears and eyes faded away. Cia's eyes however narrowed. "What are you to Jace I wonder, maybe a pet or a project...care to tell me something?" the question however would go unanswered as Si'la stood and walked away.

Cia and her dragon's eyes followed Si'la as she disappeared outside, Cia leaning back and turning her head toward her dragon before shaking her head.

"I'm not sure, Jace was always a mystery if anything. But one thing I know, he never does anything without a reason, that's one thing I know for a fact, if this girl is with him he has something in store but for now let's just relax, him and Thri'sa being here makes the work load for us allot lighter."

Cia smiled before standing up and moving over to Kilika and sitting down on her tail, the large dragon slipping it's head over to rest in Cia's lap which made her expression shift from near bored to more comfortable and relaxed. Soon she was petting the dragon's head lightly causing a deep purr-like growl to form from its throat.

The next day came fast, the sun rising from over the horizon, Si'la finding her eyes straining to open from sleeping in the cold all night in an uncomfortable position against a wall. She didn't want to sleep near Cia and with Jace and Thri'sa off with one another she couldn't go look for them. Slowly and very hesitantly she pulled herself to her feet before moving toward the door to the building and stepped outside. Nothing had changed save for Jace and Cia standing off with their dragons behind them and the large number of humans and furs standing around them in a circle. Jace's face was grave and Thri'sa didn't look any happier than he did, though Cia was grinning with that near insane look once again. Quickly Si'la moved over and pushed her way through the crowd to get into the middle and to Jace mainly.

Cia crossed her arms under her chest lightly and tilted her head back. "Heh, so what do you think, it's a solid plan right? I mean you can't really argue with the logic, me and Kilika have scouted this place several times without getting 'too' close so we didn't get swarmed, but it does exist and we can take these bastards out."

Jace's eyes narrowed and his fists balled. "And you didn't mention this to me the other day because?" He lowered his head slightly, his eyes still glaring daggers into Cia who didn't seem fazed.

"For one you just got here and I didn't want to overload that cunning little mind of yours and secondly because I wasn't sure about you. There's something wrong in your eyes Jace, something deep and I can't tell if it's bravery, stupidity or cowardice and Thri'sa's the same way since she's in direct sync with your conscious mind." Just as Cia finished her remark Si'la made it to Jace and a loud roar from the skies turned all eyes upward.

In the sky a large shadow slowly burst from the dark grey clouds followed quickly by three others. Jace's eyes quickly snapped open and without a warning he shoved Si'la aside and dashed toward the wastelands with Thri'sa charging after him, shouts sounded off after him but he didn't respond at all.

Quickly coming to a stop, he looked up as another roar sounded off, soon mixed with three other roars from the other dragons. Gritting his teeth in pure anger, his eyes glared at the four flying dragons. Thri'sa slowly lifted her head, giving one of the most vicious and animalistic growls that made even Cia and Kilika flinch. Cia stepped back and looked up at the four dragons before turning to the wolf who was speaking the other day as the second in command.

"Get everyone inside and take up defensive position behind the glass, 'do not' try and fight these dragons, leave them to Jace and me, got it?"

It didn't take another word before the wolf turned and began getting everyone off of the ash-covered streets. Cia quickly turned back to look at Jace and Thri'sa, seeing that they hadn't moved and both sets of eyes were still locked onto the four dragons who remained high in the sky. Blinking suddenly as she saw Si'la standing there looking at Jace with hurt eyes, she ran over and grabbed her by the shoulder, shoving her toward the building.

"You wanna die girl? Get your ass inside before you end up as ash." With that Cia ran over, Kilika behind her, and stood next to Jace.

Gritting her own teeth, she glared up at the four dragons, "Yo Jace, are those the four that..." she trailed off as Jace clenched his fists while glaring up at the dragons as they began to soar toward the ground. Bronze, White, Red and Green, each dragon a different color and different shape, but none bigger than Thri'sa herself.

Jace slowly lowered his head before snapping back up and yelling out in pure anger and Thri'sa quickly following with an enraged roar that shook the very ground beneath their feet. Cia covered her face with an arm as ash was kicked up from the sound of Thri'sa's voice, Kilika slipped an arm around Cia to keep her from falling.

Quickly Jace drew the crossbow off of his shoulder and started charging forward, Thri'sa quickly taking to the air right after him as he loaded his crossbow with an explosive tipped bolt. Skidding to a halt, he aimed at the four dragons that had noticed the movements and were now soaring down toward him.

The four dragons roared loudly as Thri'sa soared over Jace, then soared up at them, roaring back at the four as Jace's eyes suddenly shifted as they narrowed, his teeth gritted in utter hate as the dragons neared with the intent to kill everyone.
