Cold. It was always cold. As you made your way out from underneath the tree you had called home for the past few hours, you realized that it was still cold. The landscape of Hyrule offered no real solace from the elements, particularly those of the wintery variety. The snow-capped mountain peaks spoke for themselves, and the wide open plains left nothing to stop the onslaught of icy wind from slicing its way through travelers' faces. You had been making your way through this inhospitable cold for what felt like days at this point, in search of one of the most elusive shrines you had known yet. Maybe the trip would have been easier if you didn't lose your horse on that mountain pass, but this was no time to dwell on the past. What was forefront in your mind was the moment, and at this moment, you were finally close to the shrine you had been searching for. It was just over this ridge...

The wind whipped in your eyes. You had one hand on your forehead, keeping the snow out of your eyes, and the other locked in a death-grip on your hat lest the wind take it as it did your horse. As you broke the horizon you saw something in the distance. Something large. Giant, even. But...was it moving? And was that...accordion music?

"Traveler!" rang a far-off voice, in the same direction that you had been moving. You whipped your head around in confusion, thinking that the wind may have carried some phrase from miles away. There was no way there was anyone else up here besides yourself; it was far too remote of a location! The idea was simply preposterous. The thought of hypothermia driving you mad chilled your heart to the core, and only drove you to make your way to the shrine even faster, for the prospect of warmth...

"Traveler!" the voice came again. It sounded even closer this time! And the accordion was getting louder as well. An accordion, all the way out here? It was simply ridiculous. There was no other explanation; you were going mad from the cold. That thing in the distance was getting closer, it had to be the shrine or shelter or something that would help you! The blistering wind and the snow had forced your head down so your face would not be bitten by the cold, so the only thing you saw for a good while was the snow crunching beneath your feet. But the accordion grew louder, and your curiosity grew with it. Eventually, you raised your head up again, to look at the shrine that you were sure be standing in front of now...

There was no shrine. Instead, there was a large, blue bird, holding an accordion and looking at you in a puzzled and concerned way. You rubbed your eyes for a few moments, in complete disbelief at what you were looking at. It was clearly a Rito, but what was one of them doing all the way out here, in this freezing cold environment?

"Traveler, are you all right?" the bird said, cocking his head to the side as he asked. He stopped playing his accordion, but kept the instrument in his wing-hands as he made his way towards you. "What is it that you seek in this frozen tundra?" he asked, looking down at you in a way that  showed his advantage in size over you, even if that was not intentional.

You looked up at the avian. "I was looking for a shrine, but I am obviously lost in some way. Do you by chance know of any near here...or a place where I can rest?"

"Shrine? Traveler, I think you may have misread your map. There is indeed a shrine in this inhospitable land, but it is all the way on the other side of the mountains..." The Rito pointed a wing exactly in the direction you had came from. You turned around and looked in the direction he was pointing, seeing the wind still howling and the snow still coming down like an icy blanket.

"You have got to be kidding me..."

"I most certainly have not. If it helps, you are not the first traveler to do this. That's exactly why I visit this place often, to see if there are any who have lost their way while looking for a shrine..." the bird paused for a moment, looking a bit nervous about what he was going to say. "As for your second question, I think I have something that can solve both of your problems. You will have to trust me though..."

You were immediately elated as soon as the bird suggested he could help you. You didn't know what he meant by the trust thing, but you wanted him to show you the way immediately! "Oh my gods, thank you so much. Ten more minutes out here and I would have frozen to death..." You said as you walked towards the bird, expecting him to turn in some sort of direction and lead you to safety, but he only stood still.

"Traveler, I don't think we have the same thing in mind..." the bird said as he lightly grasped with you with his wings, holding you still and somewhat embracing you. At least it was warm, snuggled against the bird, although you were a bit caught off guard by the sudden touchiness...

"Uh...what do you mean? Aren't you going to show me to a cabin or something? Somewhere safe?"

"I..." The bird blushed as he started to explain himself. "I am, it's just that it's...it's inside of me."

Both of you just sort of stared at each other awkwardly for a moment as that phrase hung in the air.

"...What did you just say?" you eventually asked, not sure that you heard the Rito correctly. He blushed again, before repeating himself.

"I was suggesting taking a ride inside of me. My belly, specifically...it would be a place safe from the cold, and I'm still able to fly. We would be at that shrine within a few hours...I understand if it's not something you want to go through with, however."

You just stood there for a few moments. You could not believe what this birdbrain was offering. Did he really think you would trust him enough to let him eat you!? It was preposterous, simply an insane idea...and at the same time, it seemed like your only option. Going back was simply not possible, at least, going back and making it out alive. And the snowy mountains seemed to extend infinitely in all directions...

After deliberating internally for a few more seconds, and probably looking like somewhat of a moron standing there without saying anything, you put your face in your hands. "I guess I don't have a choice..." you groaned, sliding your hands down your face to great comedic effect. You couldn't believe that you had just agreed to being eaten alive and whole! Especially by a creature that could easily just keep you in there. But it was this, or freezing to death, and at least being digested by a bird would be unique...

"Oh! Wonderful, Traveler. I understand that it's a...unique situation, so I will try to make you as comfortable as possible. Just place your hands in my beak, and I will do the rest." the bird stepped away from you, grabbing you softly in his wings and slowly lifting you up off the ground. He put your head a few inches above his own, aligning you in front of his beak before he opened wide...

He gave you a more detailed and close-up view of his maw then you ever really would have liked to see. The lack of teeth was jarring at first, until you remembered that birds didn't have teeth. Instead there was a group of small, fleshy ridges at the top and sides, pointing inward right to the wide, circular gullet of the Rito. A long, pointed tongue emerged out of that throat, stopping right before the edge of the beak, only a few inches from your face at this point. But the most obvious thing to you was the drool; the bird had produced a copious amount of it, strands breaking as he continued to open his jaw wider and wider. It was quite gross, but in your current predicament, you couldn't care less.

"Do you mind not drooling so much?" You asked in a deadpan tone, already fed up with the slow speed of the experience. You wished he would just cram you in his mouth already and get it over with!

"Thahry..." The Rito mumbled, his voice obfuscated with his mouth wide open as you reluctantly placed your hands on the bird's tongue. It felt wet and slimy and gross, but it also felt warm, and right now, all you cared about was warmth. You felt the bird pulling you closer, and you took the hint, lowering your head down and taking a deep breath as your hands slid further down the tongue. You had gotten used to the slimy feeling of the bird's tongue at this point, so you were less abrasive about having your face smushed against it, but it still wasn't exactly fun! You felt the bird's beak slowly close around your shoulders, and then the mouth you were enclosed in gradually tipped back, allowing you to slide further towards the back of it. You could tell the bird was resisting his inner predatory nature to toss his head back and gulp you down like a fresh fish, and you rather appreciated that! It made it feel like he was actually caring about what you felt, and not just treating you like food...

With his beak closed, it was a lot harder to see what was going on inside of the bird's mouth, but you could certainly feel it still. You could feel the tips of your fingers brushing up against the opening to his throat, forcing you to retract them a bit as the flesh suddenly quivered at your touch. It offered you a momentary respite from the unfamiliar sensation, but as the Rito kept his head tilted back, you would continue slowly sliding towards it. The bird still had a firm grip on the sides of your chest, opening his beak slowly to feed more of you inside before taking the first swallow. You could feel his tongue sliding around underneath your belly, obviously enjoying your taste, but not trying to get carried away...Glrrrp!

In a messy, wet series of noises, the bird's throat claimed your head, the tight flesh squeezing firmly around your neck as the Rito swallowed. with the throat being completely closed off to the outside world, it was pitch black inside, and it also allowed you to hear a lot of the bodily noises you heard in the background much more clearly. The thing that immediately came to your attention was the gurgling and groaning of what you assumed was the bird's stomach below you. They were very...acidic noises. You trusted the bird, but you didn't know if you could trust his digestive system. However, with your waist firmly in his beak, and your legs starting to slide in as the bird tipped his head back further, you really didn't have the chance to back out at this point. No, you could only wiggle slightly as more tight, rippling swallows pressed all around you, feeding you deeper and deeper into the gullet of the Rito. You bulged out his throat quite nicely, the bird tracing your descent with one wing as his other was occupied with shoving the last of you into his mouth. You felt that warm, wet embrace slide over your knees, then your calves, the birds tongue working on lubricating them before sending them down the chute you had just been introduced to face-first.

A few more wet gulps from the bird, and you were completely locked inside of him. The warm embrace of his flesh was honestly wonderful, even if you didn't like the more wet aspects of your environment right now. Anything to get out of the cold. You were waist-deep in bird gullet at this point, trying to ignore the stench of fish that came from deeper within the Rito as another swallow pushed you deeper, only your feet hanging out of the throat at this point. You would have focused on the feeling of them slipping past the point of no return, but instead, you had to focus on the fleshy wall in front of you, slowly being pried open as the bird continued to swallow you down. You still couldn't see anything inside of him, but just from the smell and sound alone you knew that this was his stomach. That fishy stench from earlier was much stronger, along with the acidic smell of something akin to vinegar making your nose tingle unpleasantly. The sounds of the stomach were almost deafening, constant rippling songs of flesh and wet squelching noises dominating your hearing. And they only got closer as you got pushed out into the stomach, every powerful swallow from the bird forcing a few more inches of you out into his belly, every wave of peristalsis pushing you deeper into his guts.

Soon, you felt the other end of the stomach, but with only half of you contained in the gut at this point, you figured you would have to curl up a bit. So you did, making the best ball you could as you felt the last of your body sliding out, your legs easy to push along compared to the tightness of your chest. You felt that sphincter closing behind your toes, signifying that you were locked entirely in the bird's stomach...a few thumps tapped on your new enclosure, before a booming voice rang out, seemingly from all around you. "Sorry about the tightness...I hope you are at least warm in there. I just realized I never introduced myself, either. You will know me as Kass."

Kass rubbed and felt at his belly as you wiggled around inside, trying to get comfortable. The bird usually tried not to treat his passengers like meals in this kind of situation, but he couldn't deny how tasty you were! He was going to be disappointed when he let you out at the shrine later...maybe he could convince you to stay for a little while longer. That was for the future though! For now, Kass had to get ready to take off, the bird spreading his wings and trying to get used to the feeling of having a passenger before attempting to fly. He pressed on his gut a few more times, feeling the sensation of something trapped inside there, before letting all the excess air out of his belly in a thick HUUuuuUUUuurrrrrpppp!.

"Sorry, that was making me a bit queasy. Don't worry about your air, I have everything under control..." You weren't exactly pleased with the increased tightness in the stomach, but at least it made warming up a bit quicker and easier. In fact, his belly was starting to become quite cozy, in a weird sort of way. That coziness was interrupted as you felt the chamber starting to shake around you, though, with Kass getting ready to take off...

The bird lifted himself up off the ground with a few flaps of his wings, having to work a bit harder than usual with the excess weight he had. But he got there eventually, diving off the mountainside and gliding on the arctic winds as he continued to move his wings through their motions! Being inside of him as he did this was one of the weirdest feelings you ever felt in your life; it felt sort of like gliding, but without the input you had normally. It was a bit of a scary feeling at first, knowing that you had no bearing on the condition of his flight other than making it more difficult, but once the bird got in a consistent rhythm, you started to find it more comfortable. The feeling of almost weightlessness, combined with the warm belly around you and the constant sense of motion, was altogether quite a wonderful package for resting and restoring your strength. Maybe this bird knew what he was doing after all...

You spent a bit more time conscious in the bird's crop, trying not to wiggle too much in order to not upset the flight patterns of your pilot of sorts! You didn't really need to wiggle that often though, you were already so comfy inside that belly, you were starting to not like the idea of leaving...but you were sure the bird could only control his acids for so long. If you stayed in here forever, chances are you would be padding out his thighs in a few days! So you let Kass take the wheel, blushing just a bit as you heard a loud HUUUuuurrrrpppp rumble out between the sounds of rushing wind and the like. Was that because of you...?

That was the question you were thinking of as you drifted off to sleep. Kass enjoyed feeling his belly wobble and lurch beneath him as he continued his flight. If his instincts were correct, he was about halfway there. That meant even more time to enjoy this feeling of being so full...fish never did this for him! Too bad he promised not to digest the traveler, but they had more important things to do than become bird fat...

Kass finally returned to the ground, having sought out the exact shrine you were looking for. It took awhile for the bird to adjust to having such a large weight in front of him, but it was a bit easier since you were completely conked out! No wiggling and thrashing about to make this more difficult.

"Traveller? We are here..." the Rito said with a bit of nervousness in his voice. He had done this several times, but he always worried that his belly would have made his passenger into a thick gut sludge at this point. You gave no response, being sound asleep, so the bird poked his stomach a few times. "Traveler? Traveler!?" he repeated, poking at his belly some more, hearing only the wet noises of a stomach either at work or enjoying the feeling of fullness. "Oh Gods..." He said as he started to shake his stomach up and down, hoping that he hadn't done what he thought he did!

Those shakes were enough to rouse you out of your slumber, instinctually wiggling around a bit as you were yanked out of your comfortable dreamland. As soon as Kass felt you inside of him, all the panic and anxiety he felt washed away. "Oh, thank goodness. I thought you were halfway to belly fat in there..." He responded, giving his gut a nice pat before letting out another belch. "My apologies traveler, flying tends to work up a bit of pressure in there..."

One thought flashed through your mind for a moment: that it wouldn't be so bad being belly fat. But that thought was quickly dashed by the rest of your brain, which was very much interested in getting out of the bird.

"Uuuuhhh...you going to let me out now?" You asked, your voice somewhat obfuscated through layers of fat and muscle.

"Oh! Yes. Of course. Just give me a moment..." The bird said as he took off his pack, getting ready for the unceremonious process of regurgitation.

The bird put both of his arms underneath the bulge you made in his gut, leaning over slightly before speaking once more. "Sorry, this is going to be a bit gross..." he said before he started to hork away, pressing into his gut like he was giving himself the Heimlich maneuver! The gut jostled and shook around you in quite a nauseating way, and after a few moments you thought he was going to have to send you out the other way, but eventually the sphincter at the top of his belly gave way and your head shot through.

Once the throat got a grip of your body, the process was a lot easier, rolling waves of peristalsis pulling you up rather than pushing you down the bird's throat. Your neck and shoulders slipped through the tight fleshy ring, The familiar sensation of tight flesh once again enveloping your body. Thankfully it was only for a few more moments. As the bird continued to toss you up, you saw a sliver of light slowly shining into his throat - And a bit of cold as well. Your body shivered instinctively at the cold, and for a moment, your base instinct was to go back inside the warm stomach. But you knew that your rest was over, and your quest had to continue. So you let that body continue to purge itself of you, your head popping back out into the bird's mouth in due time.

Seeing the inside of the beak from the back was quite odd, all these little structures designed to keep food inside their mouths looked very odd from the other side! They look sharp, and you thought they were going to cut you or something, but thankfully Kass had his mouth open wide enough for them to pass inches from your head. You could see the snowy ground that Kass was looking at now, your head making its way out of his throat; and as your shoulders popped loose of the tight gullet, you pulled your arms out and pressed forward, getting ready to brace yourself for the fall. You felt his muscles contract around your lower half again, pushing more and more of you out of his throat as your head and arms started to dangle out of his mouth. It wasn't pretty, but you were getting back on track nonetheless!

Your hand slipped out of his beak, followed by your head, and once the slime that covered your body you met the cool air, you realize how wet you really were! You were used to being crammed into a tight stomach, but you didn't realize until now that it was quite wet and that it was going to be very difficult to adjust to the outside world...but you were too far to go back at this point. Your hands touched the snow of the ground, your whole waist outside of his beak, and as you felt your legs slip out of his throat, your body lurched forward, practically cartwheeling out of the bird!

You landed softly in the snow, thankfully, just lying there for a moment as Kass looked over you. "Oh good, completely intact. I hope it's not too disgusting..." he said as he wiped the spit and slime from his beak, pointing to the shrine behind you. "We are here..." he simply said, as you slowly got up, lurching back and forth not unlike a newborn fawn as you adjusted to standing again. It certainly was the shrine you had been looking for, and with the rest you got in the bird's stomach, you were more than ready to tackle it! You thanked Kass for his odd service, and even asked him if he would be around again. "You just might see me, I have a reputation as a traveler myself...but hopefully by then you will have washed yourself!"

So you let Kass take the wheel, blushing just a bit as you heard a loud *HUUUuuurrrrpppp* rumble out between the sounds of rushing wind and the like.
